The electircian who came to help us was Jordan, and we were very happy with the service. He found the fault in my wall mounted light but was unable to fix it as the fault was with the lamp itself. R. I.I have just contracted Lumen to update all the lights in the stairwell of my tenement block in Edinburgh and to have a new security light installed outside the stair door. First thing I would like to mention is that Andrew was quick to respond to my request for a quote and was very knowledgeable about what I needed. Second, Andrew was very understanding of how long it takes to get agreement on anything (and funds) from other owners when it comes to tenement blocks and was willing to honour what was already a very reasonable quote after three months. Third, whatever question I had, Andrew swiftly answered. Fourth, the day before the big day, I had a reminder from Lumen which even told me who was coming, which was nice and reassuring. Fifth, on the day, I had Connor, Jordan and their apprentice, who arrived punctually and worked diligently and got the job done fast. They were also very polite, professional, tidy and a pleasure to have around. Sixth, I was already very happy with the work they had provided, but then I received a courtesy call from Andrew in the evening checking everything was well. All in all, it was a 200% service. We felt full confidence in his work, especially after a less-than-good experience with a different electrician. We first used Andrew to do some general work in our flat (fit a light, cap off an old plug and repair our communal landing light) and then again when our communal tenement stair lights completely failed. Andrew had advised on his first visit while repairing our landing light that the stair lighting system was extremely old and would likely fail at some point. He was proved right just a few months later and I had no hesitation in recommending him to the rest of the tenement tenants to do the work. This work was completed on time without mess or fuss, and the lights now work better than before, with the added advantage of having guaranteed emergency lighting in the event of a power cut, which we did not have before. N. A.Andrew at Lumen Electrical Services Ltd was recommended to me by another Electrician I had used previously, but who was no longer offering services in my postcode. I filled in the request form on Lumen's website and received a very prompt reply and quote from Andrew. The work was to install new interlinked smoke and heat detectors in my flat as required by Scottish legislation from February 2022. I also opted for an optional CO detector and wall control switch to test/silence the alarms. I was happy with Andrew's quote, which I accepted online and was then offered an appointment within 1 week. Craig duly turned up at the correct time, fitted the detectors & switch and took time to explain how everything worked. I was very pleased with the quality of the equipment supplied and with Craig's workmanship and passed all this on to Andrew when I received a courtesy call from him later the same day. Lumen Electrical Services Ltd is listed on Edinburgh Council's Trusted Trader Scheme and I will definitely use them again.

M. M.Developing an electrical issue during the COVID-19 Lockdown adds a new set of concerns to the problem, but Lumen Electrical dealt with all of these quickly and professionally. After calling in the morning, Andrew was able to arrange to come out on the afternoon of the same day, and he fixed the problems with our shower in 45 minutes. He was very pleasant and knowledgeable, and he worked quickly and professionally to a high standard, taking the time to ensure that he left no mess when he was finished. He remained masked and gloved throughout the repair, and practised safe distancing the entire time he was in our home.
If you've been putting off an electrical repair due to worries about COVID-19, I'd advise you to consider Lumen Electrical. They were excellent, and we'll be using them again in the future if we need anything else repaired or installed.
F. M.Excellent service at a reasonable price. Replaced under unit fluorescent lights, which had not worked for years, removed old wall heater in bathroom and installed extremely fiddly light fixture. Took extra time and trouble to do this with a smile. Always Covid safe and went the extra mile. Can heartily recommend and will use them again.
M. B.Following an EICR, I needed to have my consumer unit (fuse box) upgraded; my bathroom light replaced to one that will keep out water and moisture; and investigation into water bonding. Andrew (owner) sent Craig, who turned up on time. He quickly assessed that there is no water bonding and an appointment is now made for him to return to fix that. He replaced the light in the bathroom. He then went to work on the consumer unit. In total, the visit lasted around 5 hours. It is always difficult to choose a tradesman, especially where the flat involved is rented and, due to C-19, I wasn't able to be there. But, the work went very well and Craig worked professionally to achieve what he went there to do. The reviews online of Lumen are accurate, from the experience today, including precautions with respect to C-19. In terms of the interaction with clients, Craig called me and we had a discussion before the work went ahead, which was very useful and reassuring. Andrew is very good at replying to emails and queries. All appointments are sent by email, with the option to accept digitally, which is great. The invoice came swiftly by email and I was given a week to pay. All in all, a very professional business and a positive experience. Will be using again for the second part of the job, as said and will definitely use Lumen for future electrical checks. Thank you, Andrew and Craig. **UPDATE** I finally had the water bonding carried out following the removal of the water tank. Craig worked diligently and focused on the job at hand. He also installed a new, inter-linked smoke alarm, too. Once again, the service was first class and I will use again.

We contacted Lumen Electrical Services after having been let down by another electrican. Andrew provided us with a detailed estimate and was able to attend to the job quickly. The job turned out to be more complicated than originally thought, but Andrew explained each step and proposed workable alternatives when the original plan wasn’t going to work.
