I needed an inspection and EICR and was very wary of being taken advantage of. Additionally, living in a small Central London flat rewired 35 years ago, I was fairly certain that remedial work would be necessary. Given Covid-19, I had been alone in my flat for 15 months, making an impending visit even scarier. A friend and neighbour had used Michael Wood Electrical Limited, especially praising electrician Simon Clarke and the honesty of the firm. After initial issues getting in contact via the web site, I was able to arrange an inspection. As I feared, I needed a new consumer unit to replace my very old fuse box, etc. We were able to arrange this for 4 days after the inspection. Simon Clarke was the very able and personable electrician for both visits. He brought a powerbank, which allowed me to use my superhub for ethernet and WiFi while he worked with all electricity turned off. Luckily, I did not need the rewiring I feared. Within a week, and for a very reasonable sum, all of the work has been done. I have the original and updated certificate, and am very relieved and feel so much safer. The only minor negative is that communication and information regarding timings could be better. I think this is because they are so busy. I also had a sense that the company is more accustomed to dealing with commercial rather than domestic clients. I had no idea how to pay 50% of the final invoice, for example, not being used to doing so via Bacs. I have put so much detail because overall, this has been an unexpectedly positive experience. It can be so hard to find honest traders, that it is important to let people know when you have found one.

I recently had several electricians attempt to fix a fuse box fault with no success, Mike Woods ,came on time ,fixed the fault in a very short time and was very careful to leave the place nice and tidy. A good job ,thanks Mike
