Graduate Recruitment Bureau is the only recruiter I've had to use, which in one way makes it somewhat difficult to write a review with nothing to compare to, but more importantly makes an excellent statement given that I never even had to consider looking elsewhere. After hunting for a job myself for a while, but not finding anything that appealed to me, I stumbled upon the GRB. I gave in my details with little hope that they would be able to find me anything better that what I had already seen. I was completely wrong. I was contact by Jacob within the space of 24 hours after giving in my details. Previously I hadn’t thought about this in much depth, so I think the conversation was useful to both of us. Throughout the whole of my final year of university, I really struggled finding a graduate role, and found the process really streneous and competetive, and at times really hopeless. This place is actually amazing! The next day from when I signed up, I received a call, and was offered a position, and went straight to the interview process. I ended up getting the job! If you take the time to give a good and prompt response to e-mails, to answer phone calls and generally give them all of the information they need, then they will be very good to you. I was surprised to hear how many candidates they have that had failed to return phone calls or e-mails, or even in some instances failed to turn up to interviews. One of the biggest advantages of searching through a job via GRB is that it appears there are companies that only search for employees via agents. i.e. There are potentially job opportunities you can't get elsewhere. Not to mention, once you have established your profile and have a rapport with one or two of the agents, I found applying via GRB was much quicker than making an application on my own.

Like with any job in a fast-pace environment, GRB employees can sometimes be busy, but they will make time for you when they can, e.g. when one of them is away, they will make sure their colleagues chase up you queries, so they always put you first. What makes GRB stand out from other recruitment firms is that the advisers are really honest, there's no cold calling, they tell you what each roles precisely entails, they looks your skills and experience closely and based on that they decide if the role even suites before they refer you to the employer for an interview. They even help you prepare for the interview. They care about the welfare of graduates (candidates), unlike many other recruiters, they don't just palm you off to your employer. In fact, GRB does follow ups at least right until you start work.

Then you'll get emails about relevant jobs. The more you apply for the roles you want, the more relevant the listings will be and they'll even call you (at a convenient time) when they find something you're really well-suited for. I got fast-tracked a number of times and they'll send you preparation packs to prepare for interviews and even do a mock interview with you beforehand. It may take some time and a fair amount of applications, but I ended up with the exact role and industry I was looking for. I really have no complaints.

My great experience with James. I signed up to GRB and quite frankly, forgot about it. Until one day I received an email about a job opportunity. My first thought was, hey, I'm probably not going to get the job, but interview experience is great. So, I emailed James (An recruiter of GRB) and we spoke on the phone about the job. He did most of the work for me and managed to get a telephone interview for me. Before the phone interview, James prepared me well, telling me what to expect and how to keep calm. I dealt with various recruiters over a period of a couple of months before securing a job. The jobs available were very appropriate for my degree in economics and the agency is very good at finding jobs for graduates. I had a couple of issues. One was when applying for one job, where I sent my CV and they failed to let me know whether or not I had been successful in getting an interview or not, after a period of a couple of weeks I was eventually told, I believe because one of them (Lucy I think) was off. I also feel that after speaking to one of the recruiters (Grace I think), she deliberately ignored most of my applications after that because I hadn't come across very confidently on the phone. I eventually found a job through Tim, who I felt was very easy to talk to and very relaxed and helpful and I am very happy with the job which I have been given.
