I was new to supply teaching and had a bad experience with a previous agency. I came across academics and was not sure what to expect. From the first contact I had with Clare I knew I would be fine, I was made to feel comfortable and welcome. I had my first days work within 3 days of registering. I have been with Academics nearly a year and I’ve had a lot of work at lovely schools. Clare has been amazing to work with, she takes into consideration your preferences and location when finding placements and always goes above and beyond and always at the other end of the phone. If anyone is looking at supply teaching and feels apprehensive or you’re not sure then I would 100% recommend academics. It is the best thing I ever did.

What a fantastic, caring agency Academics, Doncaster are! you are treated by Clare and the team as a person not just another number in their phone book, they work alongside you, listen to what you want from the agency and work with you every step of the way! The support from the team especially Clare and Rebecca is amazing, nothing is too much for them and they are always just a phone call or text away! I had signed with another agency before finding Academics Doncaster and the difference between the two is outstanding! Clare and Rebecca are definitely the team you would want by your side when considering supply teaching!! I signed up with them over the summer holidays expecting September to be fairly quiet, however I've had work offered every day since schools returned. When I was looking around for a supply agency to join, I felt overwhelmed by all the different agencies out there and after speaking to many of them, when I called Academics and spoke with Rebecca, I just knew this was going to be the one I was going to join. The whole team at Academics Doncaster are amazing, They’re really friendly and care so much about their staff and listen to what they want. When I first met the team for an “interview” it was so relaxed, they were amazing and understood my reasons for wanting to join and could relate to my situation, I felt so at ease. I Joined Academics after leaving my permanent teaching post. I highly recommend Academics South Yorkshire. I've been with them since September 2020 and they have been keeping me busy! Clare is sweet and helpful, always willing to go the extra mile. She is also quick to respond to any questions or concerns I might have, as well as preempting any I hadn't even thought of yet! It's clear Clare really cares about her agency workers and the settings we go to. She advocates for us, and works hard to ensure a good match. She tries to get as much advance notice for shifts as possible (I've found that can be a rarity in agency work) - most of the time I've had a few days to a week's notice. Sometimes I get called first thing for that day, but no matter when it is, she is always warm and cheerful. The settings I have been to through Academics have all been wonderful, and I've enjoyed my time with them. All of the other agency workers I've met have been professional, hard-working and friendly. I cannot recommend Academics enough!
