I approached Acuity shortly after moving to London where I had taken a temporary position through an agency to facilitate the move. As the London market is very competitive, and I was looking for a part-time role with some flexibility to accommodate my external commitments, I was struggling to find a suitable position taking the usual, Recruitment Agency route, where I would feel like part of the team rather than “the temp”. The Acuity MethodTM enabled me to differentiate myself in the market because my unique skillsets had been validated in a highly practical way. I felt that Ben and the team had a good understanding of what I was not looking for as well as what I was looking for. I found a great match with the first employer they introduced me to. The employer had a much greater understanding of my skills than in most interviews I have attended and immediately took me on in an interim placement. I have been recruited through Acuity and have been through their process on more than one occasion. I believe that their methods weeds out the chaff from the wheat very effectively and ensures that anyone going through to meet a client is of a standard that means they can do the job. The testing that you get put through is controlled, time-pressured, multi-level and rigourous. You will not pass or get through unless you understand how businesses work, double entry book-keeping, Excel and how to construct brief, meaningful information from data. As a candidate you sit a test (the first I've done for many years!) to prove that you have the skills claimed on your CV, both technical and commercial. This is aligned with the company's 5D FD philosophy that the FD should be a truly value adding member of the broader company. So far I've been introduced to an interesting variety of clients and secured some enjoyable work.
