This truly was a beautiful place for a wedding venue. Every room downstairs was decorated to a high standard. The food was great, and the staff were friendly. The outside was also well looked after and has an amazing view which is a real bonus.

A lovely Manor house set inside the old down estate. It is surrounded by lots of trees and beautiful views. The inside looks amazing, and it would be such a lovely place to hold a wedding or an event. You can park here if you are disabled, if you are using the Manor.

Dear Katie, Jason and the rest of the team, Myself and Craig would like to thank you all so much for making our wedding on the 14/02/18 so special. You made the whole process so easy and really did everything you could to ensure the smooth running of the day, especially in the months leading up to the wedding with changes and requests. Everything, from how beautiful the manor looked, accommodation of artists such as the harpist and band,the canapes, to the absolutely delicious afternoon tea that you prepared combined to create an atmosphere that was truly spectacular and a day that we will never forget. Everyone even commented on how good the wine was! Everyone that stayed at the manor was thrilled with the rooms and if I had a pound for every guest that asked how we found such a stunning venue we could probably get married again! Thank you so much and I hope you're all well. We will definitely be using our complimentary passes for life so we shall both be visiting soon. Lovely venue which I've visited several times for spas as well as coffees. Everything is lovely: food is great quality, decor is good quality, gardens etc are very well maintained and its nice to see the venue try different things such as Yurts and Open Air cinema. Only thing that is missing is the customer service. The Spa staff are great as are the treatments but I think they need a little bit of help to understand what great looks like. The booking system let's it down too. Slow response to email and telephone is frequently unanswered.

Really nice place for a relaxing day out - particularly good for meeting up with others, as it's very spacious (something important to consider right now). We particularly enjoyed the pets corner area; lots of lovely animals to get up close too. There are also other animals dotted around the park. There is also lots of walking areas - fields and woodlands - stunning views of the surrounding areas too. There is even a farm shop, and separate gift shop. Fabulous picnic areas too. We'll definitely visit again in the future.

We had our wedding at The Manor and had the best day (despite the rain!). Lucy and the team did a brilliant job, they were on hand for everything we needed and made it such an easy and carefree day for us. The venue is stunning, it didn't matter that we couldn't use the grounds on the day because of the rain because there was so much space for the guests and The Manor is really stunning. We also really enjoyed going around the County Park the morning after the wedding, we will definitely be back again.

We had our wedding and reception at the manor in October and it was the most wonderful day. The manor itself is absolutely stunning and such a perfect wedding venue. Throughout the entire planning process and lead up to the day Emma was so amazing to deal with, she always responded to my many queries in a timely manager and made sure everything was answered. She really made me feel at ease about the planning and run up to the wedding and I can't thank her enough for making our day so perfect. Jason and the front of house team were also so brilliant on the day, everything was explained to us so we understood the running of the day and they all made sure everything went without a hitch. I really could not recommend Old Down highly enough nothing was too much and truly lovely people to work with you and be there on your special day who all made us feel at ease. A fantastic wedding venue with beautiful bedrooms and amazing service. The staff are fantastic, nothing is too much trouble and they ensure your day runs smoothly. The drinks are a little expensive but this is often the case with wedding venues. The views are incredible. Well worth a visit if you're planning a wedding. The manor also hosts different events throughout the year.

We had our wedding at The Barn on the 24th Aug and I have to say, Lucy and the team at Old Down were just amazing. She made everything really easy and was very accommodating. Nothing we asked was too much trouble. On the day, everything went exactly as we wanted it to and we didn’t have to worry about anything. All of our guests said how great the venue, gardens, food and staff were. We really couldn’t have asked for a better day! We cannot recommend Old Down highly enough. Emma and the team were fantastic and enabled us to have a perfect wedding. Nothing was a problem even when we had guests drop out at the last minute, Emma reassured us and we could trust her that she would sort things. Throughout the day Lucy and Emma ensured we had everything we needed and the staff were attentive to our guests as well. The day itself ran so smoothly and it allowed us to relax throughout. All in all we had an amazing day due to having such a wonderful team!

We chose Old Down because of the amazing view and grounds – which looked even more spectacular in the spring sunshine. The atmosphere was relaxed, service discrete and friendly, and the food delicious. We had great comments from our guests. Emma was a great support to us in the months leading up to the wedding, helping patiently with all my questions. On the day, Jason was amazing – he has a good sense of humour and kept the day moving smoothly so we could just relax and enjoy it all. Thanks Old Down - we’ll be back soon to visit and reminisce!

From our first viewing right up until the wedding every member of staff that we met at Old Down were friendly and helpful. Any email correspondence was answered straight away and no question was too silly! Old Down Estate supported us throughout the wedding planning process. When it came to the rooms we had the freedom to make them our own - a refreshing change to some venues who do not allow this. Each room was stunning and the venue wowed guests. The food was amazing and so many people complimented it! Again all staff were friendly and helpful and the service was fantastic. Throughout the day myself and my husband were reassured and talked to about what was happening and when. It was well organised and we didn’t need to worry about a thing. We cannot thank Old Down enough for everything they have done to make our wedding so magical and everything we had dreamed it to be. It will be a day we will never forget. Many thanks

Beautiful venue, good food. Grounds were amazing. Only downside staff for the park aren't really sure what to tell you as a wedding guest, parking is in the normal car park then walk through the large gates around the corner then right to the manor house (no signs for some reason). Bar prices are reasonable no more than a bristol/bath bar would be.

Our day was perfect! Lucy and the team at Old Down were absolutely amazing. They were organized and accommodating, making it seamless to plan a wedding there from abroad. We didn’t have to worry about anything on our wedding day. The food and wine was delicious and surprised our American guests who were expecting "wedding chicken". It is an astonishing place. It has wildlife trails and a farm with great variety of animals. It has some really amazing gardens and views. There's a swimming pool and a little lake. I went to a wedding and the service was amazing, really good food and accommodation for after the wedding. Really recommend it.

Great venue. We were lucky enough to play at Old Down Manor on 3/6/17. As a wedding band we get to see a lot of venues. Old Down Manor does not have noise restrictions like some venues (if you plan on booking a band this can be important). In the house the band / entertainment sets up in a separate room which means if speeches run late this will not effect your band from setting up in time. It also means your band can set up their equipment without having to walk past your guests with lots of boxes. The house is very beautiful and grounds are well kept. The house also has a pool which is pretty cool, I am not sure what the terms are, but I imagine after a hard night partying a dip in a warm indoor pool would be quite nice. If you are looking for a venue close to Bristol I would recommend Old Down Manor.

My wedding ceremony was held here Friday 21st April. It was amazing! The house and grounds are fantastic. All the staff and wonderful, helpful and very organised. Jason looked after us, he was a lovely guy and ensured everything ran smoothly and according to plan. My wedding coordinator was originally Adele, and changed to Katie a few weeks before. Both ladies were fantastic, very informative, helpful, organised friendly and nice. Thank you so much for helping us celebrate our special day.

It's the first time I've ever been inside the house. It was to a (35 seat approx) screen viewing of the new lion king film, situated in the the hallway beneath a magnificent chandelier. The staff were lovely and helpful. Before the film I took the opportunity to have a look upstairs. All the suites named after local villages. 😁

A stunning venue which looked promising in terms of wedding services. The packages and food (which we tested out in advance) were reasonable and very tasty, although for the amount of money you're paying per person, per 3 course meal I would expect bigger sized portions. Unfortunately the effect of Covid has lowered the standard of customer service (as a lot of the staff have been furloughed or working from home) and this was the reason we cancelled our wedding with Old Down. As opposed to our other wedding suppliers, Old Down was very inflexible with refund policies even considering the governments ruling on 30/15 guests. Despite the global uncertainty, they still wanted a £1000 non refundable deposit to secure a date for the upcoming year and at the start of the pandemic we were still asked to pay 50% of our invoice when it was clear our first date (in June) was not going to be able to go ahead. We had to chase our wedding co-ordinators (who changed without warning or communication) for reassurance, as they would mainly reach out when wanting money. Having said this, this was not the case pre-covid. Our experience with the staff was amazing and fault less prior to the pandemic and we understand how unsettled the wedding industry is currently. Out of all of our wedding suppliers who showed leniency (despite existing contracts, as none of the contracts anticipated a global pandemic...), understanding and sympathy, this venue was the worst. Delays in communication, putting unreasonable barriers when we tried to cancel and get some of our money back. Despite them being very time sensitive about the cancellation policy, they have not got back to us to process the refund, which feels like a kick in the teeth after all they've asked us to produce. This is the only reason I'm giving this venue 3*. I'm sure if the times were better we would have loved getting married here.

Jasmine and the team at Old Down made our wedding day just perfect. Their help with organising and setting up really made it a stress free process, even with 120 guests! The venue is so picturesque, we will cherish the photos forever.

I attended a wedding at this venue and what can I say... The venue was excellent, the staff were useful and it made a very enjoyable experience. The venue is located just outside of Bristol and just off of the motorway which made the location exclusive yet convenient for all. The only potential negatives are that the cloakroom is limited as if the size of the bar.

Not great at handling a large group, even though we had phoned ahead. Over 45 minutes waiting for a coffee and a piece of cake. Passable cake, OK coffee. Shame, because otherwise it *is* pretty and would make a nice cafe stop in a ride around the Cotswolds. The people serving were polite and good natured, which may have taken soome patience when so many cyclists turned up for a mid-ride coffee and cake.

We were not staying in the main building which meant we had to go outside to get to/from our room. This was an issue when raining. It should also be noted that rooms in the main building are en-suite. The rooms in the other building have shared bathrooms
