Reviews of Tramshed Cardiff

Had a quick drink at the bar, before going on. Talked to some lovely people. Manager to get at the front, so I so very happy. Also managed to park close by. All in all a great experience. Love a smaller venue.
P.
Visited for Sophie Ellis-Bextor's Kitchen Disco. I like this venue as it's intimate for a gig but doesn't lessen the atmosphere. Once the gates are open the queue moves quickly inwards. Staff are polite & helpful. Drinks are reasonably priced. Getting out is a quick & painless experience too. There is street parking which we used this time & it wasn't difficult to find a space just a couple of minutes walk away. Only thing I would mention is please, Tramshed, can you make sure the toilet roll dispensers are full & working or perhaps I just got lucky again 😒 Visit if you get the chance, they have some fab music & big names that visit. You'll have an enjoyable night 😃

First time at this venue. I cover band photography, but took my partner for her first rock gig for viewing. Great size venue, nice stage/floor settings, upstairs and down. Acoustics were spot on and mixed well. GUN and The Dead Daisies were two bands worth assessing also. Brilliant night all round. Toilets clean and tidy, security thorough on entry regarding entry. Overall, a great venue, will definately be back....maybe behind the camera? Had some pictures with GUN also, which was an added bonus. Nice one Tramshed 5* from me.
K. S.
Amazing music venue, accessible and very helpful. I can't wait to book my next music tickets
k. j.
Nice venue for concerts , some seating up stairs , security staff were very polite and helpful, upstairs bar was quite quiet and the downstairs bar looked quite busy. Venue was quite busy but still well run.
R. B.
Love this venue. Great sound. Good size but feels intimate. Never a bad gig. Saw Everything Everything and they were beyond incredible. Looking forward to Maximo Park and Metronomy later in the year, which will inevitably be great thanks to this fabulous little venue.
K. W.
Came here to see Heather Small. First time here was a cracking venue with a great intimate atmosphere. Very friendly and welcoming staff as well.
K. J.
Brilliant venue..amazing acoustics and atmosphere.lovely friendly staff.
B. D.
DJing here is absolute goals! A really cool and alternative venue for a wedding! If you like your sound system punchy and your lighting to be like at creamfields, then definitely consider having your evening reception here!
r. s.
Reminded me of an older more intimate venue.
Saw Killing Joke there. Accessible seating was needed, and customer service to support this was excellent
R. B.
As a wheelchair user. The help i got was excellent. The venue is great for disabled people. The balcony area of the venue, gives you a fantastic view of the stage. The toilet facilities are very good too. And if you are partial to a beer or two. There is a bar just outside of the balcony. I highly recommend the Tramshed. I've been here on a number of times. The bands they get are top class. Just seen Killing Joke, awesome.....Roy.
J. M.
Great venue. Apart from one miserable individual behind the bar.
R. T.
GOOD VENUE Went to American singer Teddy Swims and his band. Fantastic soulful voice and excellent but loud backing band. Venue close to city centre so ideal for concert and night ou one problem was tills kept going down losing venue revenue.
E. F.
Many a good night had in tramshed. Always lovely staff, good sound system, friendly vibe, nice venue... Could do with more bar staff on busy nights and better distribution of them when the bar upstairs is closed to the general punters. But it's a minor qualm. Good place and much needed in Cardiffs live music scene.
R. S.
Lovely venue with a really nice atmosphere. All the staff were really pleasant and helpful.
There's an accessibility area for people with mobility issues.
N. P.
Great venue with good range of booze and lovely bar staff. The security staff are without doubt the best in any cardiff venue.
r. b.
If I'd known there was seating available I would go again after 3 major ops on my leg I am finding it hard to cope nowadays.
B. F.
Top venue. Great sound. Easy to park nearby
D. H.
Wow what a venue! can’t get enough of the “Time Flies” events, definitely going again…. 🙌🏻
C. F.
Great atmosphere. Basic, just a shed with bar at one end and stage at the other, toilets in the middle. Nothing not to like unless you want to sit down.
C. J.
The 40 seater screening room with its first class airline seats is an interesting place to watch a film, large screen and decent sound system. It's a shame that there is no longer a daily film schedule and the snack choice has been reduced but well worth attending the special screenings.
D. W.
Had a great time on sat 16th April for the punk festival
Great place for music on an evening but for an all day event think they need to change a few things
Don't agree with security not letting us out after 6pm as they said there was no re entry after 6pm that is very poor
No food at venue so if you are there all day like we were you will get hungry
Think for an all day event they should put food on or cater out to someone to supply food for the ppl there
M. A.
Went here to see the Liverpool legends, the place looks well used, bit dark and dingy but staff were great and the bar people served really quickly , overall a very good night
P. B.
One of my favourite music venues.
Great bar staff, good views of the stage from all areas, decent toilets
R. H.
Tramshed is an awesome venue, its intimate and has great sound quality. It would be better if they always remembered to put the Aircon on !
A. P.
Absolutely amazing venue - probably the best in Cardiff. Sound quality was fantastic and the staff were great. I was there on the 17th of November 2019 seeing The Secret Faces support New Model Army. Both bands were on top form and it was one of the best gigs I've been to.
r. b.
Cardiff has lost a lot of live music venues, but this is as good as The Point used to be.
m. d.
Great smaller venue in Cardiff and close to station (Cardiff Central)
Just need TFW to sort a later train than 10:40 home 🤦♂️
S. B.
Brilliant venue with a perfect capacity!
j.
Great music venue, Friendly staff... all round good visit!
J. H.
Awsome night at this fantastic venue 🤟🤟🤟🤟
G. B.
Went to see Keifer Sutherland at the Tramshed. Great local venue for music. Sound is always good and good size main hall. They always have a good selection of beers and spirits available and plenty of bar staff. Venue prices to be expected. Large outside seating area meNs you can enjoy a few drinks before hand.
L. S.
Awesome venue. Went to see the wonderstuff and they were fantastic
R. C.
Saw Bears Den Live. Absolutely amazing!!! The event aside, the venue was a delight, clean, hospitable staff and helpful security staff who are genuinely interested in making sure you enjoy yourself/selves. Thank you all for a wonderful evening and I can't wait for my next visit and event.
B. M.
Small-ish and intimate venue with good sound quality. Lighting and stage hands were spot on for the act I seen. There's also balcony seating, and wait time at the bar wasn't too long, met with friendly bar staff.
A.
Great venue for live music, well managed and tidy. There is a useful upstairs area which is often much quieter and is a helpful place for those in wheelchairs or with mobility problems to be able to see the shows. Nice amount of space outside too.
D. G.
Great nostalgic night great tunes from Heaven 17 great choir when they sung You Lost That Loving Feeling.
D. W.
Went here to watch Los Campesinos! in December 2021. The venue is very accessible with a lift and toilets. Whilst the toilets aren't explicitly gender-neutral, some bands request they are made so. The show was very covid safe with people going being asked to take covid tests the day of going and masks throughout the show. Bag searches were thorough and made the venue feel more secure. There were no issues with the venue staff and all were helpful and friendly. I had such an amazing time here and I hope to get a chance to visit again!
T. J.
The security was nice to everybody. The venue had a bar and was nice. The event got a bit delayed but I think that was more of the organiser's fault. Pretty nice place
J. M.
Recently went to see Twin Atlantic with standard tickets. Loved the venue and drinks were reasonable.
Some good choice of alcohol free beers too which was a great surprise.
Acoustics were great and the staff were friendly and bar staff worked very hard to quench the thirst of revelers.
Easy parking access along side streets with little restriction and very little traffic pre or post show.
S. B.
Awesome venue. We'll set out and really good staff. Attended a concert here on Thursday. Facilities were great, cloakroom upstairs, clean toilets and plenty of staff working on the bar meaning there was no queuing time.
G. J.
Amazing venue and lovely helpful staff
M. F.
Sadly a few drunken people which marred the event. Security should have done more. Be aware that this is primarily a large bar with a stage so you stand for the whole of the event
M. G.
Went for a ticketes dance/trance event. Sound system was basic (speakers only on stage rather than around whole room) felt like a student union. Drinks were expensive. Due to location it was a strick time finish of 1am. But it was clean and tidy.
G. L.
Second to none when it comes to a medium sized gig venue in Cardiff. More intimate than the Motorpoint, bigger than The Globe! Only my second visit, but can't fault the vibe. I could deduct a 1/2 point for the unresponsive bar staff on my last attendance, however it was busy, they were short in number, and patience is a virtue after all. 😝🤟
C. m.
Great venue, looked after us while working with a band.
A. M.
Fantastic venue, and the staff were so friendly, handing out water to those of us stuck at the front, throughout the night...xx
C. R.
Really good gig venue. The drinks are reasonably priced.
R. T.
Great venue with a good view of the stage from all areas of the room. Drinks a bit limited, but excellent quick service. Parked for free about 1 mile away, which was fine but may not be ideal for everyone. Could have parked a bit closer but I never like to pay! Sound was loud, security was friendly. Overall I’m sure that I will be back!
C. H.
Nice easy to reach venue. No seating option but overall easy to see acts and move around. I would go there again.
L. B.
Good venue, small but good. Card only at the bar. Good sound. 👍
A. C.
Nice venue, very friendly security, good choice at the bar!
P. F.
Killing Joke.... awesome sound, nowhere is far from the stage, no waiting at the bar, outside smoking area, fair and humourous security, great atmosphere....what's not to like?
N. R.
Had a great evening watching the Rudimental sound system and they also brought Anne Marie on for a few songs.
Great sized venue for gigs like this and very well organised by the staff and security.
N. F. P.
Decent mid-sized live venue, choice of bars & viewing areas. Well worthy checking-out!
A.
My husband and I popped by The Waiting Room! We were served by a lovely young guy. The drinks we ordered were a Thatchers Gold and a Almond Latte with cow's milk as they ran out of soy!
Latte was yummy 😋
Nice decor and good background music!
T. s.
brilliant disabled accessibility and fantastic staff, will be going back there again, great experience!
K. O.
I really like the place. It depict scenery theater to showcase event
p. w.
Saw killing joke this week. Absolutely amazing after 43 years touring. A dream come true seeing them.
D. C.
Tramshed is my favourite venue in Cardiff. Because it's a ticketed venue, people attending are like minded and going with the same intention, which is the music. This makes for a great atmosphere, with little trouble, the staff are always there for your safety and are friendly. They put on some big names and support local acts.
V. G.
Fantastic place to see shows , very friendly staff
E. W.
Good venue, but £6 per pint
C. B.
Great venue plenty of room even at a sold out show reasonable priced beer and easy to get to close to train station
A. H.
This is such a great live music venue. The sound is always excellent, the bar well run and the staff very friendly and helpful.
D. M.
Expensive drinks and they don't sell crisps! the sound system wasn't too good In my opinion!
g. W.
Went see goldie looking chain good venue bit out the way needed Google to find it I advise a taxi beer not cheap at £6 a pint
B. B.
Great multi-functional venue. Saw a theatre production there recently 'The Hall' which was sold out and brilliantly funny. A fantastic atmosphere a great night was had by all
n. m.
Great venue for gigs, plenty of bar staff too 😂
D. G.
Great venue for live music..
T. R.
Great place to go for a gig, staff are good, security are great, really close to stage, had a great night
D. J.
Great venue, quite small without being too small. Friendly staff and easy parking. The perfect place to enjoy a live band.
S. w. C.
Sadly the soundsystem didn't delight but the people of Cardiff were wonderful!
M. N.
Just how a night club should be
A. L.
We went there after the performances at Radio BBC 6 music festival...it was a great night.
M. F.
Great sound and a very friendly staff. Not much parking around the venue, so would suggest parking at St David's (reasonable parking price and secure) and only a 15 min walk.
S. T.
Small place, but generated a fab atmosphere! Wet Wet Wet were brilliant new lead singer was awesone!
H. S.
Great little venue, only thing that let it down was the air conditioning wasn't working
R. S.
Good small venue, need to raise the entry age to over 21 to reduce the amount of students.
N. C.
Very nice venue close to the city centre. There are multiple bars and a cloak room. Been back for the first time since covid time and give it still a good venue. Upstairs (the venue had ta balcony) seems to get seats more so that's certainly a change though I'm not sure what impact it will have. Still sells classic ciders (like Sommersbys) where some venues have changed to the very bitter Stowford press so that's always a plus for me
I. T.
Great venue, I love going there
G. m.
A brilliant venue! Great sound and view from wherever you stand. Friendly staff. We'll worth checking out.
D. B.
Great small venue where you can get close to the band's! Average price drinks for Cardiff as well
R. D.
It is a fantastic music venue
S. D.
Good intimate venue for concerts. Friendly staff with good bar facilities and fast food on offer.
B. F.
Amazing venue & teddy swims 🥳🎶💞 xx

Fantastic venue, bit over priced on drinks!
M. G.
Small venue. Nice atmosphere.
P. T.
Fantastic venue... customer friendly staff.... ideal to get closer to the action
M. P.
Great venue, always a good night, and Sleaford Mods were brilliant 👏
Cheers Tramshed .....
C. O.
Great Laura Marling concert. Glad we were on balcony as floor below was rammed. Beer too expensive - £6 a pint!
C. L.
Seen a good few bands here, sound has always been excellent, staff are lovely and a decent bar. Parking outside is free after 1800 too 👍
p. h.
Great atmosphere close up and personal for watching bands
M. C.
One of my favourite venues to see bands,
R. R.
Great live music venue
L. D.
Great little venue. Nice space for live music.
G. L.
Great venue for music and entertainment events. Near Cardiff Central Station, with plenty of taxi services. Several bars and large outside smokers area.
T. P.
Crowded and a friendly atmosphere. Most of the customers yang enjoys Friday evening. We came for 'wine and a movie ' let's see what we get.
C. P.
Great night with friends
S. O.
Went to see Teddy Swims, he was amazing😍
S. h.
Nice little cosy arena/club great sounds
J. D.
Amazing venue, ample room to stand and doesn't get hot
P. D.
Lovely team and a great venue 😍
B. M.
A cracking small sized venue with good acoustics for live music. The staff were friendly and helpful as well. I would recommend the Tramshed as a good venue for live music.
P. S.
One of my favourite venues
E. -. R.
Great venue good drinks
M. A.
Great Venue, Great Sound, Awesome Lighting and Friendly Staff.
Would have been 5 stars but £2.50 for a can of Pepsi is ridiculous.
K. S.
Gig was amazing but was very hot
D. J. c. a. o. s. v.
Watched Skindred here. Amazing venue. Staff were fab. Beer reasonable and good to drink. Will definitely be back!
M. C.
Great venue. £6 a pint of Brooklyn Lager is a bit steep mind.
A. L.
Excellent venue best security in the industry
L. C.
Great venue . Friendly staff . Star sailor were fab again !
R. R.
Surprisingly small venue (smaller than my old school hall!) but that makes this spot perfect for that intimate concert feel. I've been twice now, once to see The Feeling and again last night for Scouting For Girls. You get to be so close to the stage and the atmosphere is always great! Definitely a spot to hit if a good act gets in. If I lived in the area I would definitely come here a lot for some of the lesser known acts as well.
D. J.
Good venue for gigs although the stage isn't very high and room isn't very big, so your view can be obscured by the taller members of the crowd. There is a bar inside the main room and another outside with a large patio area and an upstairs balcony. max capacity is around 1500 people, get here early if you want a place on the balcony.
M. S.
Great venue, centrally located with parking nearby. This is a real great place for an evening of drinking and entertainment.
D. K.
The Red Hot Chilli Pipers gig was outstanding.
Will definitely go back to see them.
J. W.
This is the place to see your favourite bands up close and personal. It's a small venue that holds a 1000 people.
S. D.
A excellent warehouse style music venue
P. C.
Great place with a lovely atmosphere been to several gigs here Great place to see your favourite bands
l. b.
Great place to watch live music
N. C.
Lovely Music Venue and a great night with a fantastic show. Very friendly staff...
N
My only negative comment is the price of drinks. 1 pint beer & 1 pint Diet Coke £8. Same round in a pub down the road c £3.50!
t. i.
Great music venue. Cardiff needed somewhere like the Tramshed. Its size and architecture is pretty much spot on for bands on the rise. Not too big but big enough, I really enjoyed my 2 visits there and I'm looking forward to the 3rd. I've heard it's also great for raves etc and is regularly full to the brim with locals hungry for a live musical experience.
L. J.
Really well set up venue in a great spot. Would love to see a few more new live bands and less tributes and covers, as this venue is a perfect size for "almost academy" sized bands.
H. J.
Fab place to watch singers/ groups. Felt quite intimate but still plenty of room, no pushing or shoving. Bar prices really excellent and not overpriced. Had fantastic views of stage even though we were standing near the bar. Wil definitely go back to see gigs there again.
S. G.
Love this place for up close gigs, big mention to the staff, always happy.
P. M.
Great venue and definately worth visiting if there is an act in you like. Ticket prices are reasonable and the cost of drinks isn't terrible.
Communication from the venue is poor. Information about support acts and running times was not available until inside the venue.
The sound quality very disappointing.
Overall well run on the night by happy efficient staff.
G. P.
The sound quality is great and the staff are nice. The location is so convenient too, being just five minutes walk from Cardiff Central station. I'm knocking a star off because the bar prices are so high - this is most expensive bar I've seen at a music venue outside of London.
j. d.
Good venue ,very expensive drinks.and 2 quid to hang up your coat 🤭
p. b.
Excellent gig , Sleaford mods , friendly staff , only downside £6 for a pint !
J. N.
Fabulous venue! Only issue was parking but it was Wales/England rugby that day so may have impacted. Saw peter hook and the light perfect concert and sound we need something like this in Harlow
A. H.
Giving 4 stars because the venue was so hot that my friend fainted. However, staff were very helpful and looked after us both, giving us access to the upstairs seating. The concert itself was great, perhaps a tad loud but that seems to be the norm amongst concert venues.
C. T.
This place is the best! Always have a great night when I go here, it's a brilliant music venue and the bar adjacent to the main hall has a got a cool vibe. The staff are great, theres never any trouble and everyone is always up for a good night. You can go in jeans and trainers or glammed up if you want. There a cloak room and 2 bars in the main hall.
C. T.
Fantastic music venue
A. G.
Brilliant, medium-sized music venue with good wheelchair access. Standing on the ground floor and seating on the upstairs gallery, which has glass panels. Upstairs seating should be reserved in advance, but the night we went the staff were extremely helpful and found us two seats. Not easy to contact venue during the day, tickets bought online.
A. T.
Great local venue, plenty of space, friendly staff and reasonable bar prices. The only thing I'd say is please get some 0 percent beer in for us strange people who don't drink! :)
C. R.
One of my favorite venues. The stage is well positined and high. The bar is big, accessible and well staffed. Toilets always clean and plenty of them to cope with the headcount. Sits nicely not far from the central train station for a ease of access.
C. D.
Great venue in Cardiff. I've been there for a gig, and for a quiz night in the bar. Both were positive experiences. The service is good. The place is clean and well maintained. Decor is very nice. It's only a short walk from the city centre. I hope this place stays open for a very long time!
J. B.
Excellent venue for the Afro Celt Sound System I went to see. We had pre concert drinks which were very expensive but the beer was good.
No sitting, exclusively standing but if you ask in advance you can book a chair in the balcony which is accessed by lift, so wheelchair friendly. You can easily park in a sidestreet and walk to it. Good security and nice loos.
S. D.
I've been here a few times for concerts but also on a work away day. For concerts, it's a small and intimate venue. It's a bit dark for my liking as it makes me feel unsteady on my feet and there isn't anywhere to sit downstairs. As an events venue, the facilities were great although the lunch went a bit awry with none of the food labelled - quite dangerous for people with allergies - and some mini pies that were still frozen. They also ran out of drinks very early on. Other than that, it was one of the better venues the company has used in recent years.
L. P.
Thank you to the kind lady who was scanning tickets for looking after ky daughter and I at Eagles of death metal gig.
M.
Great venue. Plenty of atmosphere downstairs or more chilled upstairs on the balcony. Could do with a better choice of beer and cider on the top bar but otherwise very good.
P. B.
A great venue, a good variety of music offered. A good atmosphere.
E. W.
This place is hard to review .. in terms of the venue for bands.. amazing.
Bar- over priced and really not good.
Toilet- fairly clean but out of tp in several stalls.
Overall this venue CV is doing okay... Could do with some staffing changes/training to bring it up in line.
G. B.
Great small venue, about 1500 capacity, good sound, but my only complaint is the lights. Mostly ok, but way too often they'd blast the main beams at you to the point where it was physically painful to keep my eyes open. They spend more time shining lights at the audience than the band you're trying to watch. Very distracting.
J. E.
Gone to a few events and concerts. It's a great use of the old tram sheds and they put on a variety of entertainment and events. Parking is street parking only but not too far from the middle of town if you care to walk to the venue. They could provide a bus service to help. It does get rather hot and stuffy when there is a full house for gigs. All in all a good small to medium sized venue. Staff always been friendly and made me feel safe and welcome.
J. H.
Great venue, but like most venues, over the top drinks prices!!! Very little space between the bar and the sound desk area making to a nightmare area for breathing space and getting drinks. Rather overly sticky floor too, made for an odd sounding walk anywhere.
R. K.
Good choice of drink, nice staff and a great view from the upper balcony
K. L.
Small intimate venue, with a choice of three bar areas. Access swift and friendly. Drinks reasonable for a music venue (double vodka and orange '*™£7.50. Downside, if you do need to sit down during show/concert, needs to be pre booked eg if you have health issue, otherwise wait for a seating area to become available in one of two bars. Located close to central train station in Grangetown area of City
G. T.
I've been to a few gigs at the Tramshed in recent years and I actually prefer this venue to the likes of the Motorpoint Arena & the Principality Stadium - it's a much cosier and more intimate experience, and the atmosphere is febrile! It does get very hot in the Tramshed when it's crammed to the rafters, and the alcohol is extremely expensive (as with all modern music venues) e.g £10 for a double Vodka with Lemonade and a diet Pepsi. There's no seating in this venue unless you pay to go upstairs where there's a scattering of seats. Overall, it's a great night out, and gig tickets tend to be very reasonably priced.
L. r.
The most expensive place to drink was absolutely gob smacked. £6 a pint
E.
Amazing venue with a great atmosphere. Bouncers/security are friendly and helpful, always amazing DJs no matter the genre and the whole place just feels great when each drop hits. Highly recommended (5 star)
A. R.
Great venue loved it
M. J.
Great venu for bands. Big enough for good bands small enough to get close. Well run.
C. W.
Love the Tramshed. Good view of the band from anywhere and really easy to get a drink from the bar that runs right across the back of the venue. Plus New Model Army were magnificent as always!
C. C.
Good venue to see bands. Bar staff is quick, toilets are large - the things you want when attending a gig. Easy walk from Cardiff Central station and Uber taxis arrive within minutes.
E. D.
Great little concert venue with really friendly and helpful staff. Plenty of on street parking which is free after six and convenient for Cardiff Central railway station too. A nice bar area and the cinema can't be faulted.
B. W.
Great place to watch bands and lovely staff, particularly the security.
J. M.
Nice music venue. Ambience depends largely on the followers of whatever band is playing. I have been there twice and the sound was not that great, not sure if that's down to the bands' sound system or poor acoustics.
K. F.
Great place and helpful staff. Good atmosphere and the acts that they have there when not under covid limitations are brilliant.
D. C.
Excellent, brand new venue with a great atmosphere. Sounded absolutely great (although being at a Steve Albini gig could be a factor :) ). Bar is not overpriced as most venues in town. Oh and great ventilation as well!
A. K.
This venue is wonderful to go and see any band. The acoustics are fantastic and the view is great from anywhere. Just seen Richard Ashcroft as close as I could possibly be,awesome
L. N.
Great venue which has meant a home in Cardiff for the bands too big for bars, too small for arenas who have had to stay away since the loss of the exchange. Only downside is it gets way too hot during gigs but otherwise a good place to see live music
n. e.
As always the Tramshed delivers on giving us a stonking night out.
Average White Band played, a phenomenal performance, and the staff make any visit a pleasure.
Polite, professional, friendly and actually concerned that you have a good experience.
This place is a jewel in Cardiff's locality and one that I intend to visit many times again.
H. H.
Nice venue for an intimate gig. Had a blast watching Amber Run. Plenty of toilets so although big queue at the end it didn't take long. Air con needed to be put on much earlier though, it was faintingly hot!
S. S.
Liked the venue, easy enough to find. Big enough for a good size crowd, small enough for an excellent atmosphere. Well done to Phil campbell and the Bastard sons for playing there.
R. B.
Great, great venue for live music. I love the place. As a wheelchair user you get a lovely view from the balcony. It is a pain in the arse to find parking close to the venue.
A. A.
Been here a few times for gigs and also a few work parties and is always a great space. Gigs are pretty intimate but not cramped. Decent prices at the bar too.
L. H.
Great atmosphere well laid out
D. P.
Excellent music venue with great music acts. Cosy decor and brilliant atmospheric architecture and external area. Great for smokers! Only problem is beer is not cheap, but then again thats a general issue in Cardiff. One of my favourite places in Cardiff though.
D. 4.
Just saw Dragonforce here and my god were they amazing. Great atmosphere and everyone was just headbanging along to every song. If you want drinks it was very quick service, almost instantly as we walked up to the bar. But Dragonforce were probably the best thing I have ever seen and Herman is a literal rock god and I don't think in modern times anyone will beat him.
N. R.
Really great new Grangetown gem that, similar to it's Canton counterpart Chapter Arts Centre, offering a wide variety of events to please most people!
Great gig experience in comparison to some other Cardiff venues and they've already attracted some fantastic acts just one year since opening the doors. Good view from most spots and great audio quality - and on my doorstep which is even better!
G. !.
Saw Glen Hughes there on Saturday, great venue. Good sound. Nice little bar attached. Beer a little pricey but an up and coming venue in Cardiff.
H. D.
The Tramshed has quickly become one of the best larger venues in Cardiff. It's spacious, has good sound, a long bar with a good choice of drinks and manned by friendly staff. The security staff are friendly too. So far, I've visited the Tramshed for two gigs, and they've been excellent (not just the performances; but the venue itself) I haven't been to any of the other diverse events that are held here; but no doubt I will.
D. M.
Best small venue by far. Sometimes a bit short staffed on the bar but that was only the one time....seems to have more staff now. We like it here and have been to see a lot of bands....Buster Blood Vessel....The Who....The Jam and countless more.
R. R.
Great venue, good atmosphere, kind staff

Fab little venue - stage within touching distance. The night we went it was uncomfortably full - rammed to be exact - and absolutely baking hot (possibly an aircon issue?). Would definitely go again
s. S.
I would just like to thank all the staff that worked last night. My elderly mum came to watch my brothers band, and I was a bit concerned about her having to stand downstairs for a long time as she has had a double knee replacement. My brother asked if she could have a chair and the staff went above and beyond sitting her on the balcony upstairs. She had a fantastic night thanks to your amazing staff.
R.
My favorite music venue in Cardiff. You can get a good spot just about anywhere. The bar has decent drink choices and the staff are always friendly
D. G.
Great venue that does actual beer. Well worth a visit.
D. W.
Attended for a work end of year party. Set up was perfect and price was very reasonable. Would recommend for similar events. Were able to provide our own food and drink on site prices were very good. Very good.
M. C.
Great venue, very friendly security that do a great job
K. W.
First time there loved it!
L. M.
Saw Purple Rain here the other week, great band but they sell way too many tickets and ram the place so you can't move, there is no air conditioning neither so you cannot breathe. Toilets were disgusting, so called ladies use these toilets, yet there was one loo stuffed with loo paper, someone regressed back to their school days bless them, one loo was covered in vomit & another had an unflushable 'log' in it, pity the person that came out of !!! Other than that the band was great, Rachel the door lady was wonderful, very helpful & friendly.
M. C.
Always a pleasure to visit (as a music venue in my case). Security staff helpful and not over the top. Plastic glasses and bar prices aren't the best but it goes with the territory I suppose.
C. P.
Good venue, good sound and views not restricted!
M. L.
Smaller than expected, stairs up to cloackroom is quite narrow,,, but the entrance is quite nice with open area if you wish to go outside for a bit of fresh air as it can get quite (very) hot inside.
G. T.
Eagles of Death Metal are Awesome 🤘.
Staff and Booze as equal!
D. R.
Excellent live venue..great size, good sound, lovelly preshow bar. Also has a cinema and other rooms for comminity use. Staff are friendly. Best place for gigs in Cardiff
M. N.
Ok but not a great gig...prince tribute act was not what we expected. Venue is ok but no seating area so not suited to people with any walking difficulties. Beer good price and toilets where clean too.
M. W.
Apparently Tramshed Cardiff is an 'events venue'. It certainly looks the part. In typical fashion however little consideration is made by users of the venue for other road users as when events are taking place there is no easy place to drop off and a long build up of traffic occurs at the junction with Clare Road. At least you have a nice view of Tramshed which looks inviting. If I could park easily I might visit.
I've since visited, nice venue - two floors, bars, nice sized main area, views out onto nicely lit courtyard, wooden tables and 'old school' school chairs. Lots of older people, even though I'm old I feel young. Strange.
A. A.
This place has hosted some good nights alongside gigs one of which was the Harry Potter quiz which was a little sceptical but overall a good effort put on they went full hog for it and an interesting venue just to look architecturally, haven’t been loads but had a good time every time !
S. H.
New smallish music venue with a cosy cinema. Small separate bar. Nice vibe but gets busy before performances. Very convenient for Cardiff Central train station.
C. D.
Fantastic venue. First visit, was very busy as it was a sold out show but the bar service was good and waiting time to get in the venue was only a few minutes. Will hopefully return soon.
L. C.
Watched drag queens of Christmas here. Great show and not to big a queue at the bar!
J. 4.
A good place to stay in Cardiff. It is walking distance to the millennium stadium and in to the city centre. The place we stayed in was clean and tidy and slept 4. Takeaways nearby. It is also walking distance from the train station. If your are looking for a clean, nice and comfortable place to stay in Cardiff then this is a really good option for anyone
m. b.
What a great night, saw cuban brothers here great fun.
Y. H.
Great venue. Never over crowded during concerts. The sound system is good. Many older music venues in cardiff dont co.e up to scrach in all points mentioned......
R. R.
Fantastic intimate venue (max 1000 people), great for getting up close and personal with your favourite groups. The staff are all really friendly and helpful, and security is reassuringly thorough.
R. P.
Great venue, only slight complaint was the price of the drinks.
D. N.
Great local music in Cardiff. Supporting a variety of live music from folk to metal. Situated fairly central and a shirt walk from Cardiff train station. Decent selecetion of drinks available and cloak room in house. Pubs/bars nearby if you turn up early. Good (but no exceptional) sound system in place. Worth checking out if you see something you like.
S. M.
Great music venue
T. G.
I'm from Ukraine, vsited for the first time seeing Alabama 3 last night. Great place, friendly people, nice cider, lovely music, lots of fun. You, guys, know how to enjoy life! Definitely recommend!
M. P.
Live music venues don't get much better than the Tramshed. Intimate, nice and close to the bands and always a good crowd. Highly recommended.
D. A.
Great venue for bands BUT...their drinks cost a fortune. Suggest you go to the Cornwall pub beforehand, realily good prices on their drinks.
T. B.
A really great little venue. Travelled up from Devon for a gig and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the sou D and the house beer Tramhead.
Would definitely return for future gigs!
L. W.
An amazing venue, bigger version of The Globe. Good drinks x amazing crowd and people. Shout out to the bouncer who joked about no crowd surfing xx awesome.
G. D.
Been here for both his and to the cinema, great experience every time. Great venue for intimate gigs and you can't beat the cosy cinema with first class airline seats! The staff are always friendly too
L. A.
Incredible venue, kind and helpful staff. Highly recommend checking out this place, day or night!
L. C.
Really amazing live music venue
g.
Easily the coolest movie theatre in Cardiff, and arguably the all-around best.
Small cinema, with pub concessions (better food that costs less, and includes alcoholic beverages).
Based on size, you would expect lower quality sound & picture, which couldn't be further from the experience. To our untrained eyes, the media quality was on par with any of the standard major Cardiff theatres.
Terrific staff, and no commercials of any kind. The only knock is you'll need to sit strategically away from very tall people. The rows are elevated, but if you're a 5'7 woman directly behind a 6'4 man, you will have the very top of his head in the very bottom of your view of the screen. Overall 4.75/5! Our fav!
T.
Great venue. Been a couple of times now and always a great atmosphere
S. P.
Small cosy waiting area... where you can grab a drink and hot pie.. suburb venue for watching live bands... up close and personal. Atmosphere is electric. Very well organised...from bar staff to security. The photographer the great and almighty Nick Evans... amazing. The bohos... great young band.. good attitude.. meet the singer after show... good young punkish band. The cast took me back to 1995.... they were awesome. Will be going back for more.
A. P.
Lovely venue, but they're always slow at getting you in. This happens no matter who is playing there. They need to train their staff on that front, especially as it is primarily a music venue.
M. W.
Good venue for a decent crowd. Good set up, good acoustics. Would like some cover outside but other than that, it's fab.
S. A.
Fantastic music venue. Good views all round and great atmosphere.
P. W.
OK sound system could do with updating
T. F.
Brilliant venue for live music, not too big and not too small. Got charged different prices every time i went to the bar though ?
J. -. S.
Great Venue friendly staff but i felt drink prices were high £5 a pint £15 for 4 cans. However this didn't spoil a great night.
M. W.
Probably got The Best listings (a long witch Cwlb Ifor Bach) in Capital. Not bad sound, good facilities, polite staff (Inc. Security) but... A bit pricey for Wales (same prices in a way more expensive Bristol) IMO. Nevertheless still my Fav Music Club ❣️
N. A. T. u.
Kelis was amazing at tramshed Cardiff Wales UK x July 2018 fantastic experience she's touring the UK again next year in 2021 at London June 28 at the royal Albert hall too far from Cardiff and also Manchester arena x dedicated fan x 2018 tour x
B. M.
Came here to do some training. Not been here before. The facilities here are very good and there is a lot of space to work in. The coffee is also good but one problem is the parking. I parked out of town and walked in which was not much of a problem for me.
V. G.
Very intimate place to watch concerts, nice atmosphere, friendly staff, bar prices ok, seating area outside, but lacks seating inside for not so able people on concert nights.hence 4 out of 5 .
a. t.
Love this place, whether its a comedy night, im raving or live music . GLC- you ........ knows it. 😎
G. F.
Awesome venue, great acts and pumping music 😁 it's a venue I have a rather close relationship with and where some of my favourite memories happened.
R. M.
Great venue.
B. W.
One of my favourite live venues in Cardiff. Perfect size, sound was really good, bar not extortionate, and good facilities.
G. W.
Great place saw the Stranglers recently. Drinks not over priced and good range
S. M.
Excellent gig by Wilko Johnson. Good venue close to city centre Only complaint is they charge £4.50 for a can of San Miguel which is taking the Mickey to be honest.
K. C.
Fab night at the tramshed Cardiff for the London African choirs cover of Paul Simon's Graceland. Thanks to all staff from box office to security and bar. I mention the bar even though I was only drinking coke as I was the nominated driver for the night. Thank you all.
B. S. (.
Great ambience. Drinks not too pricey. If you need seats , there are only a few ring ahead as it's standing otherwise.
O. R.
Watched Flogging Molly their, small venue friendly security, beer wasn't over priced to my memory (brain like a sieve) quality night out !! And free parking after 6 I believe.
T. H.
Only been here for the cheese festival and I thought the venue was very nice if a little small. Would love to come back and see some live music here sometime
W. D.
Great medium-sized venue. Lovely staff, nice place. Great environment to catch some brilliant live music.
M. R.
Perfect for the recent Saint Etienne gig. Great sound and nice to have a standing venue for a change. Made for a nice intimate gig, perfect for the crowd and band alike
J. M. t.
Well organised event which allowed plenty of space in covid times.
W.
Fantastic venue, good alcohol pricing
T. K.
Suprisely among the many activities there is a beautiful newly open cinema, with airflight chairs and place to keep your drink. Remarkable place watching a film just for £1.
S. w.
Went to Time Flies 25th Birthday party for what turned out to be the best dance night held in Cardiff since 2001 when it was in the old Wales National Ice Rink. Tramshed is a perfect venue . It was packed but still felt cool and airy. The acoustics were great and right from the start the atmosphere was electric .most people were 30-50 and boy do the old time ravers still have it . It was an amazing night. The djs all played a blinder .Seb Fontaine and judge Jules being the highlights. Time flies should surely make Tramshed their new home. Well done to Henry and Co.
S. P.
Fabulous entertainment venue away from City centre not big inside but just great nice bar where ever you stand you can see the stage so no need to push and shove to get to the front.A second bar is out front in the courtyard that,s good to, parking restrictions i.e. yellow lines permit holders only but it's on a good bus route and only 15 to 20 min walk great little venue well worth a look see
C. H.
Had a great night but had a problem with bar man upstairs serving and tried saying he gave my £5 change...
Kept telling me 2 mins thinking id just walk away....no no no i stayed my ground had my change which i was owed...fair play to security man as he had a word with bar man...
Makes me think how many others hes short changed....(bar man wears glasses) as had no problems with no other staff all friendly
P. G.
Great venue. Only been once so far to see Graham Parker but am going back in Dec to see Alabama 3. Can't wait.
S. S.
Brilliant on Friday for Trevor Nelson!! Staff were absolutely fab both at the bar & security. Looking forward to seeing Craig Charles there next month!
R. B.
I'm a wheelchair user and you are looked after really well. You also get a great view of the stage from the balcony. My favourite venue.
N. P.
Great venue. Best security staff in Cardiff.
N. R.
Great venue with great sound. Drinks are very reasonably priced too. Also, best venue bouncer I've met!
R. W.
Went to see my all time favourite band here, what a fantastic night in a great venue. Highly recommended
L. U.
Great venue and good acoustics. Cardiff is a great city (yes i am English) - had a lovely day in the town and bars and the staff at The Tramshed were awesome. Would recommend for anyone. So good I am travelling down wednesday for 2nd gig in a week (JAMC and Wedding Present !)
G. N.
Great venue! Bar can get busy meaning there's not a lot of room between it and the mixing desk.
W. M.
Stood right at the back near the bar but It still felt close enough to the stage. Sound was good. Good atmosphere. Drinks not cheap.
C. S.

G. J.
Nice venue, but 20 minutes to hang coats, 15 minute wait at the bar and ran out of draft beer. Great gig though from Post Modern Jukebox.
P. W.
A small sweaty venue thats more suited to the younger person. Good PA and plenty of a good mixture of bands are booked. Parking is hit and miss.
M. H.
Good small venue for concerts
m. w.
Brill show but not loud enough

F. A.
Nice venue that plays great music. They do cram a lot of people in so get there early!
S. C.
Good for venue but drinks rip off and can't deal with a crowd at bar plus cash only very inconvenient.
J. S.
Great venue, friendly staff, nice atmosphere, there is something special about this place.
l. j.
Nice venue, not a far walk from the city and wasn't too small. It had two rooms to pick from different music
N. S.
So intimate, you really feel part of any show there. Best venue in Cardiff bar none.
R. M.
Great venue . Fabulous close up atmosphere .friendly staff . And .... Standing room for the only way to see a band . Standing !

C. M. (.
Absolutely brilliant.. Friendly staff, security were awesome.. Great atmosphere all round.. A Great night was had at the Tramshed
E. C.
Nice venue. We watched film there at the little cinema. The subtitles are a bit low so can't really see well from the back rows.
L. V.
Drinks really expensive though :(

One of the best venues in South Wales. Great atmosphere and location and reasonable prices for drinks
D. G.
Place is great and all that, but the temperature was so high there we had to go outside for a breath between songs and decided to leave early due to unbearable heat.
R. P.

M. T.
Really nice venue! Nice easy parking. Good bar great venue
J. O.
Been here several times for some awesome concerts. Brilliant venue.
Z. G.
Probably great as a music venue; tortuous for a sit down event. I've never seen an audience so sweaty after 2 hours of sitting still. Aircon required!
M. B.
Absolutely loved it! Great live music venue and a very good bar stocking craft ales and good wine.
H. I.
Good venue and staff, but they over-sell the place with punters standing virtually next to the bar.
R. D.
Went to see king king here, a brilliant venue. Only a 5 minute walk from the town centre, good selection of drinks and friendly staff

M. B.
Awesome venue. Nicest security staff in Cardiff. Arrive early to avoid pie disappointment.
p. w.
Venue was great and friendly staff. Local people not so much. My night was nearly completely ruined by rude and obnoxious locals and that was in a very short walk back.
B. H.
Went to the Tramshed for the first time in the first week of December to see Don Broco. It's a great venue, not too big so you are closer to the stage.
D. B.
Access is never easy to this place. It is monitored by security. Once in , it's dark and the atmosphere unpredictable , not enough seating areas, doesn't flow
G. R.
Great live venue with expensive drinks.
M. L.
Great music venue but the bar needs some bottled ales 😁
i. c.
