I attended a conference for the first time in about two years. The team from the security on the door to the cloakroom and at the coffee stations were really welcoming and helpful. The venue felt really safe from the pandemic and there was plenty of opportunity to socially distance both in the auditorium and during breaks. Top marks to the team running the event and the EICC

Great conferencing facilities and Leith did the catering for us and they were wonderful and the food tasted home cooked and not regular conference food. This conferencing complex is ideal for very large meetings, we had 800 delegates but this place could easily accommodate more.

This is currently used for the administration of the vaccine to help protectyou from covid. . This was well implemented as 8n there were many people to ensure you went safely to have the vaccine and this meant that social distancing was adhered.

Very clean with knowledgeable team. Venue is located near bus and tram routes. A lot of space being used in the Covid19 vaccine rollout but space is not an issue here. Very accessible for people with limited mobility.

I've been to numerous events here of all sorts. Company annual staff events, conferences, vaccinations, dance performances, AGMs, wine fairs.... The facilities are always clean,, operational and the centre staff very competent.

I went to the walk-in vaccination clinic. Not my favourite pastime! Accessibility is excellent. You can park right in front of the door with a blue badge and there is level access and a lift to the lower floor. It wasn't too busy so I got seen fairly quickly. Unfortunately, I left without being vaccinated as I requested a different vaccine from the default for my age group and even though they have it available, I was refused it. They make it seem like you can discuss it with the person doing the injection, but unless you bring some kind of medical letter, you'll not be given any choice in the matter. My 5 star rating is purely based on the venue and efficiency of 'processing' people through the system. Judge for yourself whether that's a good thing or not. And if you're not bothered about what vaccine you're getting, then it should be a smooth experience, irrespective of whether you're in a wheel chair, walk with sticks like me, or have no physical disability.

Apart from the annual Comicon thats held there every year am not sure what else goes on there? If you are a Sci-fi fan/geek like myself I would definitely go!

Service from the staff is excellent. Food is unreal, I didn't think I would enjoy the menu on show but I was proved wrong. Excellent facilities for conferencing. Only downside was that the seats can be uncomfortable after a few hours of sitting on.

Very nice conference centre in an excellent location. Good facilities and kind staff throughout. Cons...... Organisation of event could have been better. All lectures were on level 3 whereas refreshment sessions were on -2. This leaves very little time to mingle, have a drink etc amongst the time taken to get through the flow of people. Need better utilisation of event facilities e.g. sign posting outside event rooms should not be limited to A4 paper stuck to wall. There are computer display screens.... Why not make these available. Visited for my COVID vaccine, great set up! Everything was very smooth and well managed. No queues or waiting around. Staff were wonderful and explained everything clearly. Coffee shops nearby if you like me your bus turned up exactly as predicted on Google maps and you wind up being early!

I'd never been here for an event of any kind and so I had no expectations when I arrived for my vaccination. The FoH staff from the front door and all the way through were friendly and very professional, most impressive. There was a slight queue but the staff were informative and delivered concise instructions to the queue. Well done everyone!

Very clear markings and people on hand to guide you where to go to get your vaccination. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. Toilets available. Everything is automatic in bathrooms and paper towels rather than air dryers.

First class! I was seriously impressed by the quality of food, service and execution of a prestigious function at the EICC. The secret to these things always lies in the planning, the communication and the vision. Collectively, the team of people responsible for delivering the Scottish Thistles on the 15th of March 2018, should take a bow! To manage to pull this off under the glare of your industry peers is even more impressive! The food was superb, the service slick, the supervision discreet and the staff efficient! I don't doubt there were pressure points behind the scenes, but from your guests perspective I can tell you that everyone I spoke to was very impressed! Congratulations on a job VERY well done! 👏👏👏👏👏

Visited for my first C-19 vaccination. Everything was extremely efficient; hand sanitisers everywhere, people requesting you use them. There were ropes so people going in were on one side, while people going out were on the other to maintain social distancing. Once I got assigned to my cubical (there were many, possibly 30+), the nurse was lovely. She chatted away while I hiked my shoulder out of my top and I didn't even feel the injection itself! All said and done, I was in and out within 5-10 minutes max. I was extremely impressed. 👏👏👏

Unfortunately not the normal reason for a visit, however the vaccination centre is well organised. Lots of staff ,sanitiser and queuing systems, you are directed to to lower hall which is massive. The staff are very attentive if you have special needs or requirements. Well worth a visit if you haven’t been already. The only issue might be parking, there are some metered spaces on local side streets, opposite from the centre are single yellow lines. There is a taxi rank outside, or you can take the bus or tram.

I had my Covid 19 vaccination here, and I was very impressed with how everything was set up. Nice and easy, and everyone is super friendly and helpful. I have a bad habit of fainting after injections (I calm down too quickly XD) which I told the nurse about and she made sure I was ok. I barely felt the jag at all.

Went for my covid injection and first time in the building was pleasantly surprised by the size of the interior. Staff guided you to where you would get your injection and after speaking to a receptionist who asked details and sent you to the next person who passed you to the nurse giving you you're actual jab. After a few further questions and answering questions I had, the jab was given, no fuss, no drama a well rehearsed system that puts you at ease. Only drawback which was easily resolved was a large number of stairs which may cause problems for disabled ask a member of staff who will happily show you to a lift. My thanks to all, whether NHS or not, who are helping to make what is a difficulty for many into a easier task.

Was here on Friday for my first covid vaccination. Layout and sign posting was pretty clear and the big wide open space meant it was very easy to keep enough distance from others. It was quiet in the morning when I visited.

I went here to receive my Astra Zeneca vaccination. It was easy to navigate and not busy at my appointment and the medic staff/nurses were lovely to me. Very reassuring and informative

Was here for Covid jag. V efficient & felt safe. 4-stars as, although not challenged on request, did feel had to be assertive at one point re hidden disability. Quite a walk from front door, but there are lifts, plus a 'mini-hub' on ground floor/near entrance for those who need it. Lots of dots both inside/outside building for socially-distanced queuing, but no queue today, nor on any of the days friends have been.

I attended the Exhibition Centre for a Covid 19 jab. The place was immaculately clean, and organised for attendees. Clear direction signs were posted with helpful staff throughout the building. The reception staff were very friendly and clear, directing me to a waiting area from where I was collected and taken to a cubicle for the injection. The doctor was very informative about the injection and give the jab quickly. The whole experience took less then 15 minutes. I would implore everyone to get this injection and the second dose, when called. This is the only way we will defeat this virus. Don't listen to the no-brainers .... this action is Evidence Based Practice.

Attended for covid vaccination. No parking on street nearby - try streets off Haymaker. Lots of helpful staff and signs. Works well if have your letter - need it at entrance and at booking in downstairs. Quick and painless vaccination. Well done to all staff.

Great venue for a conference (Dibi 2017 in my case). The pentland auditorium was a good size and decent screen.

This is a wonderful modern facility. It has many rooms of different sizes to accommodate any type of meeting. The main auditorium is well-designed and functional and has an ingenious design to carve off two smaller rooms from the auditorium. The only downside was the catered food was awful.

Attended, in late February 2021, a Covid-19 Mass Vaccination Clinic at the EICC. It appeared to be a very well organised procedure: marked pathways, plus plenty of alert smiling staff on hand to guide the way, continual refreshing of stair hand rails, restroom spaces, and the vaccination cubicals. Plus there was plenty of space between those being vacinated, and the NHS and administrative staff. I sat for 15 minutes before leaving the building though it wasn't offered as an option as I had expected it to be.

We went here for Comic Con. As a venue it did the trick. There were lots of venue staff dotted all around the place. The were all smartly dressed and helpful. The facilities were clean and tidy. The only thing I'd say is that there could have been more people staffing the ticket desk, but that appeared to be being handled by Comic Con staff as opposed to staff from the venue itself.

So happy to have received the vaccine. My hat comes off to all those involved in the process of keeping us safe as we try to get back to our normal lives, whatever that maybe like!

Although the rooms are modern with stadium seating and good A/V and the staff is friendly and helpful, the facility itself is quite poorly designed. This means that when it's time for 2000 people to break out all at the same time, it's an absolute nightmare (and possible safety hazard), getting 2000 people in and out of only 2 doors in the auditorium, up and down the moving staircases and through the exits out onto the street. The ladies lavatories do not even come close to being able to accommodate even a quarter of the amount of women, the bars are not staffed with enough people during the breaks and they have a not very efficient system in place for tallying and paying for your purchases making the entire process even more tedious. All of which results in the fact that you essentially spend your break waiting to get out, in, up, down or on the queue to try and use the lavatories or getting something to snack. It's actually faster to go outside to grab something to eat/drink.

Haf First covid vaccination today, centre was extremely clean and well laid out, all staff and nurses were extremely helpful and friendly.

Great layout, easy to get about and find what was needed. Excellent staff! I think the downside for me would be that there needed to be bigger or more lifts (elevators) there were many of our party who where in wheelchairs and many who had suitcases and where dtuck with one insufficient tiny lift. Otherwise. All good.

Amazing EICC team. We've collaborated 2y ago for an event for which we booked the entire EICC and they have been helpful in any possible way from first step of the process until the last day of the delivery of the event. Kudos to the entire team and their catering and event management collaborators. The building itself is quite unique and very versatile offering the opportunity to accommodate various types of events.

Food prices and drink are very expensive, for the quality. Layout is good and staff look friendly and approachable. Toilets were clean, but leaked in the men's which created a small pool. No slippy notices were put up. The event we attended was for comic con, nice to see they put out free water.

Great building and conference rooms. It is a bit cumbersome to navigate. The catering is tasty but expensive. The portion on the small side. The vegetarian options were not balanced, for example one day, we had stuffed pasta with rice and potato salad!!!

Been here a few times for everything from conferences to festival shows. Always excellently organised and able to handle different sizes of crowds. Refreshments are a little of the steep side for the selection available, though this isn't surprising for this type of venue.

Staff are really friendly and helpful. There are lots going on. Only thing I would say is to make sure you mobile phone is secure in your pocket when sitting in the auditorium. My phone fell out my pocket without me knowing and I stood up and the seat folded and crushed my phone. It was destroyed. Other than that it was a very pleasant place.

Difficult to rate this venue as it really depends on what you are doing here. Starting to be used a bit more for publicly available events such as gigs, festival venue and markets such as 'Foodies' . Was under used for years. Large spaces which are comfortable, well lit and open.

One of the best run conference centres in the world, the EICC is an incredibly well oiled machine, with every detail carefully thought out so you don't have to. Catering is beyond first rate with Leith's, head and shoulders above the rest with quality local produce. A great space, everything goes without a hitch here. Have been coming for events for several years here now and would be my first choice to run an event if I needed to in Edinburgh or UK. Marshall and the team are friendly, hard working and deliver excellence.

This convention center is not large enough for the SPIE conference I attended summer 2016. The common areas were packed during coffee breaks, the small meeting rooms were cramped and the lower floor where the evening poster session was well beyond safe capacity. This would be a bad place to be in an emergency. The staff here were very friendly and helpful.

Magical. Just go once before you die. The lone piper playing from high on the castle ramparts at the end of the performance makes the hair at the back of the neck stand on end. The massed pipes and drums are an amazing spectacle. Accommodation in Edinbugh can be expensive all year round but with a little effort some gems can be found at a reasonable cost.
