Reviews of Summerhall

Great exhibition. Been quiet a few times. It's rather big, you end up tired after looking around all the rooms but it's worth seeing all the art, from people like us

The home of consistently high quality drama at the fringe.
I particularly like ‘in the round’ performances in The Roundabout.
Particularly good in 2022 were ‘Mustard’, ‘Grandmothers Closet’, ‘Manic Street creature’, ‘Waterloo’, and ‘work.txt’ which was more like an art installation than a drama.
It’s the southernmost of the big promoters, standing outside of the main George Square grouping, it has quite a different vibe, in keeping with its ambition.

John Kindness exhibition is worth seeing. Really humourous and unusual take on Greek mythology. The artist experiments in many types of mediums including distressed jeans and comics.

My favourite venue for the Fringe Festival. All the shows are good, and some are top quality. The courtyard has seating and food trucks with different offerings, as well as a pub with seating that offers good bar food. The staff are always helpful. There is usually an exhibition of art on during the festival. There is an indoor cafe as well that does excellent cakes and good coffee, with a relaxing place to sit between the shows.

Great hub for all kinds of theatre during the festival Fringe and all year round. It's just outside the centre of town so usually not too crowded. There's a good pub that serves nice food. Disabled access around the back, though this won't give you access to the pub, which has a few steps to negotiate, probably doable with assistance. Good accessible facilities in the main building. Great sites and very helpful and friendly staff.

Amazing venue so central yet great prices and amazing spaces for market stall type of events and a big class space.
Quirky spaces
I exhibited at the yoga fest
It was great.

Nice spot for gigs and festivals. Can get a bit parky in winter and Barney's Beer can be a bit hit and miss in consistency

Shabby and a bit chic - if you like this sort of atmosphere you'll love it here. A collection of lovely old buildings with period fittings around a pleasant courtyard. And always interesting things going on here.

Ceilidh was great fun (although in typical fashion got really really warm - unsure if it was lack of windows open or me being really unfit). There's also a pub hidden at the back that does nice beer!
