Reviews of OVO Hydro
C. “. T.
Very nice arena. Well laid out, and wonderful acoustics for vocals. There’s a really nice restaurant that overlooks the arena and the stage as well.
Been here to see many different types of events, the most recent being Jeff Dunham. Absolutely fantastic. No matter where you sit, you have a great view.
Also has a multi-storey car park attached to the side, which is very handy for those who drive.
Only thing I have a complaint about is that upon leaving the arena, it’s almost impossible to breathe with the amount of cigarette smoke you walk into. It’s pretty disgusting.
S. n.
Great for concerts, plenty of food stalls. Might be a bit of a climb for some of the back seats though. There is parking available but there is also a train station only a few hundred feet away via an overpass and plenty of accommodation available for those who want an overnight stay. Just over 14000 seats so seats near the stage are probably going to be awesome.
A. P.
Well organised, helpful staff. Seats not the most comfy but adequate. Enjoyed the Hydro club prior to event starting with a great pint of Heineken Silver.
B. M.
Seen Paolo Nutini at the HYDRO, it was absolutely excellent, what a show. Thoroughly enjoyed the rearranged songs too. I was right up as high as the pigeons and even there the sound from the PA system was very good.
J. A.
Went to see the legend Rod Stewart. Great event well managed * (see exception) Seat’s are roomy and plenty of staff to help you to your seats.
Hospitality was great and staff were professional and engaged with the customer
*New to Glasgow and the Ovo we were unable to contact anyone in the Ovo on the day of the concert. We were joined with many other customers outside side the Ovo in freezing conditions wondering how we entered for our booked meal
Otherwise 5 stars
Once we got access the night was perfect
Suggestion that on the day of a concert the Ovo provide a phone Q&A service. Common sense really
S.
Becoming one of my favourite venues ,always no trouble getting in ,no big ques to get out ,staff are always helpful, always get served quickly at bar and merch stand , plenty of toilets , good sound good set up .
J. C.
Just watched Andre Rieu and his Johann Strauss orchestra and they were excellent. Previously seen Slipknot and Metallica here both excellent too. Reasonably easy to get to. Not sure about the parking as I've stayed in hotel's close by. Typical facilities inside... Food and drink a bit expensive. Overall great for concerts.
E. G.
Went to see Kevin Bridges last night, no complaints about him as he was brilliant as always! The OVO hydro is a well set out venue with plenty of assessable toilets & bars! Staff all very helpful in answering any questions you have! Drinks quite expensive did expect this but didn’t know it was only card payments accepted until we were inside! Also went out at 8.30 while there was a break to get a drink only for them to start shutting bars at 8.45pm we managed to get a drink & get back in before Kevin came on stage but a lot of people didn’t manage to as no one had said bars would be getting closed they literally just closed them! It is a nice venue would definitely return
C. O.
Went to see Kevin Bridges last night he was fantastic laughed out loud. The Hydro is an excellent venue with good acoustics plenty of bars and food outlets with stewards on hand to help.
However downside is drinks are incredibly expensive and now they have introduced the ridiculous £1 deposit for your cup!!! Apparently you can take it back and get your deposit refunded - try doing that when all outlets are closed when you leave and there are thousands of people trying to get home. OVO Hydro this is a rip off!!’

Great venue for a gig with amazing sound from where we where sitting at level 2. The big downside is the price of the alcohol which was £7.20 per pint of dark fruit with a £1 refund on your cup if you take it back. We found large queues forming at end of gig to take your cup back so we ditched ours as it wasn't worth our while waiting around for £2 . I also seen the queue for the new pay and collect drinks at the bar system was massive and alot of people complaing so I'm guessing this system won't last long.
i.
- went to see kendrick lamar here recently and had a great experience
- love the plastic cup bring back initiative as it discourages waste and helps to create a cleaner environment
- price of drinks and food is a little pricey but to be expected from a big venue
- staff very professional and handed out lots of water during the gig
- light displays and visuals were amazing although sound quality could’ve been better but again that comes with the large venue
S. D.
I always rate the hydro highly for events. Accessable for all users. Lots of staff, friendly and helpful. Clean venue and toilets. Even when sold out. Easy to drive to and lots of parking, usual traffic. Train station also near by, as well as lots of hotels, pubs and restaurants.
K. M.
Great place for gigs. Acoustics can be a bit dodgy in standing area so move around to get the best sound
M. F.
Went to the twentieth anniversary David Gray concert of White ladder and had an amazing time. The venue was packed and the atmosphere was amazing. Look forward to another concert here soon. Easy access to the vendors selling promotions and alcohol. 😊 ♥ …
B. F.
Went to see Kevin Bridges, venue was great but do check how far way your happy with sitting when you get tickets as it might be further than you think (it's a massive venue). Staff were great, entry was quick and no other issues or hold-ups in the venue (hats off to them for managing the rowdy but quick queue at the toilets).
S. F.
Loved this venue !!!! Staff all friendly and helpful in telling you where to go . Someone who started smoking in the venue was caught so fast and escorted out . Very good security !!!
M. a. M. S.
A fantastic venue, superb staff, amazing Bon Iver concert!
W. J.
Had a brilliant first experience at The Hydro. By the time I arrived I was in a lot of pain from prolapsed discs in my back and the stewards were amazing. Went and got me a wheelchair to use. Let me straight in and one very kind guy followed us back to the train station and then took the chair back. Thank you so much for an amazing first experience.
J. G.
Went to see Rod Stewart. The arena is very well laid out and staffed with very helpful stewards. Unfortunately for us the experience was spoiled by people constantly milling around during the performance. This was mainly because alcohol is sold at all times (not during an interval, which there was none). The amount of times we had to move to let people past our seats was unacceptable really. There was the added pleasure of having to put up with alcohol spillages. Don't get me wrong, I like alcohol but I had mine prior to the show. Shame, because other than that it is a pretty impressive venue.
K. P.
Kevin bridges was great. I hadn't been to the hydro before so I picked the seating at the very top will know for future. All g4 staff were very help and showed me where I had to go. The only down fall I got a pick and mix from KINGDOM OF SWEETS in the ovo it was suppose to be £2.99 per 100g my pick n mix came to £42 which I would expect a full bag and more for that price your lucky if I had 10 of each sweet and 5 different varieties. I was far too embarrassed to say I will leave it but for future I will NEVER buy anything from there again.
P. M.
Was at kevin bridges at the ovo sse hydro, what a fantastic show even the support acts were brilliant, it was well organised staff were very helpful too.
L. B.
Good seating arrangements, plenty of leg room, and each row higher up than than the one in front enough that no one obstructs your view (can't speak for ground floor Seats), one downside - no arm rests.
Loads of places inside for food, drinks, and souvenir merchandise. Also, particularly for the ladies plenty of toilets I didn't have to queue!
T. F.
All the seats appear to have excellent views; everything is really well laid out.
L. B.
I've always used this venue to see some incredible shows. I have rarely used the bar however, as prices can be expensive. Queues aren't always properly managed and it does feel at times to be overcrowded but staff and security are always quick to help. The shows are unique and I've always been blown away by the sound and lighting effects. I'm always leaving the OVO Hydro amazed by what I've seen.
J. G.
First time visiting for Kevin bridges and the direction to the VIP club and how to gain access wasn’t something that seemed simple to any staff to help with. We must have spoke to 4 people and a help desk before we eventually got someone. Once in, the seating and viewing was excellent.
G. M.
Not my favourite venue in Glasgow but seems to be the only place that hosts big events these days. The bars are very busy so expect a wait. The website needs updated more often. We arrived too early due to lack of information on start times, warm ups and the actual start time of the official act. Security staff could also be more efficient. A large group were fighting and arguing which ruined the night a bit. Not securities fault but should have been dealt with much much quicker. Hard to enjoy a comedy show when bam-pots are louder than the comedian
S. X. W.
Here for watching cirque du soleil, nice place!
L. M.
It was easy to find. The queues were short or cleared efficiently. The venue was the perfect size with plenty of staff on site to help if needed. Overall it was a brilliant experience.
R. A.
Absolutely loved this week's visit: went to see Alter Bridge, Halestorm and Mammoth wvh. Took my family and did the Hydro Club upgrade so had an awesome meal before the gig. Would definitely recommend the upgrade!
N. C.
Staff done a wonderful job, even took us to find our seats. Venue was very clean when we first arrived until of course people started chucking drinks and spewing however there was cleaners cleaning all the time. Drinks are very overpriced though.
S. T.
Great place for gigs. Sound, atmosphere great no matter where you sit. The refund cups are also a great idea to help stop wastage. Love the hydro, will be back 👌 …
g. d.
Biffy Clyro was a great gig. Pleasant staff and clean place. Sound quality was good and view of stage decent. The beer choice however horrendous! - two pish lagers at £6.20/6.80 a pint, not good enough in this day and age.
W. W.
Kendrick was amazeballs. But 45 minutes for the cloakroom. You’re having a giggle at my expense and I wasn’t best pleased. Alas the show was engaging unlike your cloakroom queue where i was left bored and stupid looking.
W. R.
Purchased tickets for Cirque du Soleil corteo show, which cost £76.20 per seat.
The show itself was very good, however the £76 seats were extremely uncomfortable and not terribly good value for money !
The refreshments on offer were very expensive … £7.50 for a glass of cider !
I overheard the family behind us complain of the high cost of £19.30 for popcorn and candy floss REALLY !!!!
To add salt to the injury of these inflated prices, we had to pay £11.00 for our stay at the adjacent car park.
Lesson learned ……..!
K. C.
At austrailian pink floyd at the moment, venue and band fantastic only spoiled by people late in/ out for beers/toilet trips. Been unseated 9 times in 1st half. Don't think I will be here next year.
J. M. (.
Always look forward to going to the Hydro always a good night and experience and you get your deposit back for your tumblers as well now.
s. k.
The venue is big and really a great site. However, organisation and issuing correct information seemed to be an issue on the night I was there for many people.
K. M.
Love the SSE Hydro. I've been here now quite a number of times and it's just sensational. SSE lounge is great. I have also had the privilege of experiencing the VIP BOX which is great. Butler service with a great view. This place creates such an atmosphere it's incredible.
I've enjoyed everytime I have been there seeing some amazing musicians and comedians.
I would highly recommend
S. R.
A great venue with easy access and easy parking but it is £8 per event so not cheap. The stadium seats are seriously high up so not great for events where you want to see the action. Although they do tend to have a big screen but if your going to watch it on the bugs screen why not stay at home it's cheaper!
R.
Amazing venue, recommended to see a concert here. It's quick to get inside but the drinks are A little overpriced.
Bands do amazing performances and the seats are quite comfy
S. G.
Went to the SSE Hydro for the Jonas Brothers concert. The staff was very nice, from security team members to actual staff from the arena itself. Toilets were very good, great accessibility for wheelchair users (able to go up to the 2nd floor through lifts) and there were multiple toilets at many different points of the building making it quite easy for a large crowd to quickly go toilet and come back to the show.
Stage was quite small, so performers might struggle if they’re used to bigger stages but does allow for a more intimate show.
Overall a beautiful arena, with a great team and a great space for everyone.
A. A.
Love the ivents but ..
People who works there have no much clue where is what ..
Should be some barriers or some protecting things to avoid falling of the highes sits, especialy when there is alcohol involve and they most get drunk , dont think popcorn its an a ideal snack for Concerts .. its not a Cinema ...and I think if we talks about foods and drinks it should be more options for non drinkers ...
A. S.
Excellent concert venue with plenty of car parking close by. Food outlets inside are fairly basic, if like us you travel, get there early and then want to eat something.
All seating had good views of the stage initially. But if your on the ground floor you'll have to stand from the start, if the folks in front of you get to their feet. Gone are the days when people consider others. We booked seats in the front upper deck a couple of rows back from the edge. Albeit we were all jumping about just like everyone around us, at least the folks behind could still see the stage.
I. M.
Great venue for live Music!
My father is disabled and the staff were great at being accommodating for him being in a wheelchair, he had been put off from going to concerts as he felt like he would be too much hassle but its great for him getting made to feel welcome and not feel like a hinderance!
Photos are from the disabled area at the Kiss concert on 16th July 2019
B. E.
Excellent venue, well staffed but without a doubt this is one of the best places for live entertainment
J. S.
This place is exceptional! Absolutely exceptional.
Nearly 3 weeks ago, I was here to see my favourite band, Twentyonepilots. And as a band with an extremely dedicated fan base, there were hundreds of people camping outside. Myself included, camping out nearly 30 hours ahead of the concert.
Usually, the staff at a venue would honestly tell people to leave, and come back the day of the concert. But the kind staff worked overtime to ensure that we were somewhere sheltered, and that we would be first in line even if more people arrived in the night.
The day of the concert, the staff were patrolling the area where people were lined, making sure everyone was okay, safe and warm.
The concert was amazing! Everything about this venue was fantastic and the show was put together brilliantly. This place is responsible for the best night of my life. I would recommend this to anyone.
The staff are amazing. The concert was amazing. Everything about this place was amazing!
R. A.
Suuuuuuuuper!!!! We had a great time.. that day was the rock tour for the 80s.. everything is fascinating.. I enjoyed the party.. talking to ppl and dancing there! This building is massively big and magnificent as well.. can't wait to attend another concert!!!
r. j.
This has to be one of the best concert venues I have been to. I have been to concerts all over the world and the organisation and staff at the SSE Hydro was incredible.
From parking (pay in advance to speed up leaving after the show) to the help directing everyone to their seats, everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. The bathrooms were spotless and easy to find throughout. The physical venue itself is beautiful, a really incredible place. Acoustics and views were brilliant and after the show the managment and streamlining and facilitating everyone leaving was brilliant.
I can't wait to go back!
S. K.
Holy moly! My first live music gig experience was tonight at the hydro for the Lumineers concert ❤️❤️ and it was MAGICAL ❤️❤️ what a stunning venue and what a spectacular show ❤️❤️ unforgettable
A. B.
Been a few times now and like it more. We got a lift as the train service was off. Beware the local parking in the multi storey, it's rip off rates and can take you hours to exit at the end of a gig if you're on an upper floor. The venue is well martialled and they are happy to answer questions. Or tickets (printed, sent through the post) told us which door to use, and it was by no means the nearest to our seats. Really busy concourse (Blondie, with Johnny Marr as backup) with people thronging for drink and food if you like that sort of thing. They've started using plastic tumblers with integral handles, a great innovation, if only folk would return them or put them in the bin when they're done. The seating is comfortable and plenty of room in front, more than a cinema I would say (it's removable, I've stood in the same place to see Simple Minds and Ultravox). The private booths looked fully occupied (see pic) but I don't have the 3 grand to drop on one yet. The gents was packed at the end with a kind of queue and shoulder to shoulder at the urinal which I definitely didn't like, and they haven't mastered getting rid of the smell. Big queue at the taxi rank.
M. P.
Best place I have seen live music, they seem to have designed a building which is ridiculously good to watch live music at! Superb.
Watched Sam Fender here.

Recently visited for Country 2 Country music festival which was my first music concert at the Hydro. Was impressed with the sound and stage effects and that was with the arena only half full so I imagine it would be a much better atmosphere when sold out. Sat in block 055 which was excellent. Great views and in the eyeline of the performers - almost the same level as the private boxes! Only downside is the price of food and drinks.... This was expected though given it is an events venue. All the staff were lovely and friendly. I have also visited for two stage shows and sat in the second and third tiers. Get a great view of the stage from these locations but the people can seem small (spent most of time watch big screen).
S. M.
Other than the completely rip off ticket tax that is the adjacent car park, another excellent visit to the SSE Hydro. There's not much choice but to pay the parking because the venue is difficult to access by public transport so unless your being dropped off and picked up your gonna be hit by the scam tax, seriously parking times are less than 1 hour or 1-12 hours, nothing in between. Went to see OVO by Cirque du Soliel - really good show, perhaps slightly too much child orientated but really good show nonetheless. Definitely recommended to parents of say under 12s
D. O.
Bring the large scale happiness to Glasgow. Here it is, th SSE Hydro. Enjoy!
C. D.
Good large venue, fairly priced depending on the quality of ticket you're buying. Drinks and food is fairly pricey though, your normal event prices but I still feel they're quite expensive. Quite a long wait to get in once they opened the doors, missed the first couple songs of the first act, could argue you have to get there earlier but still feel like they could get people in faster.
R. Y. (.
Great venue. Food and drink a little pricey but typical for places with a captive audience. Visited a number of times and generally easy to get to and from.
S. R.
Amazing....it was an unforgettable experience. The Management,Security, maintanence, cleaniness everything was perfect.Thank You Sse hydro for making the event memorable & Exciting...Cant wait to return...💜 …
M. P.
The venue itself is great, spacious, with plenty of amenities available however when I went to the bar during one performance, the person at the bar could do with training as he looked like he could not be bothered to be there and he was doing me a favour for serving me when that was his job.
I asked for a certain brand of soft drink however he said they never had the said brand however I could see there was the soft drink I was looking for. I understand that people can have off days and that is fair enough but I do not appreciate being lied to.
There is more important things happening in the world however as someone who works in retail, lying to customers is not a good look.
A. R.
Was brillant- but not very disabled/eldery accessable and friendly when it comes to a change of programme of event/ performance nor to seating arrangements in the main centre/arena- there is limited railings for eldery/ people with medical conditions the are unable to stand very well in the blocks especially who are seated in upper levels which is very disappointing. The arena is can get very clammy, hot so buy lots of water/drinks to keep hydrated- and bring plenty money the food and marchendise stands are expensive. The vending machines are a little dodgey if buying flavoured water as they say the are sold out but they are clearly some in.Although Good overall concert/ event atmosphere- loud and lively very crammed for leg space in stalls so left up your seat if you want to dance or have a boogie.
S. R.
Great venue, that works like a well oiled machine. Parking and/or transport links are excellent. It’s £11 for up to 12 hrs parking so, if you can make use of it and have a meal or drop in to town and park for hours. Train returns from the station to town are only a couple of pound and central station is only 2 stops away. The venue is brill , not really any bad seats. Easy access to each block of seats and they are all well numbered and structured. There is decent leg room too ( and I’m a larger guy). Lots of staff on at all the events, and everyone we spoke to from Stewards, Security and Staff were lovely, super helpful and accommodating. Every concert we have been to, has been a great night out. Also special mention must go to the carpark guy at the exit barriers , who was asking where we were going to and giving brief directions on how to get to M8 east or west, town centre etc when leaving. Small detail, but with 1000’s or cars leaving at once, it defo made a difference, that most people were in the right lanes.
c. r.
A great venue for live music. Been in both standing and the 'gods' (highest seating area) for gigs and would recommend both, obviously there is a price difference with most tickets but the seats we had (block R row W, 144, see photos) had great views of the stage, plenty of room and well worth the cheaper priced tickets. The multi story parking is a bit pricey (£10) and a bit of a nightmare to get out of unless they direct traffic, which the started to do after we waiting 30mins in the exit que.
Great sound, stunning building, pricey food, drink and parking, worth a visit.
C. M.
Went here for My Chemical Romance and it was great. The staff outside were really pleasant and welcoming. They were also very patient with my groups questions and queue mix ups. The staff at merch were very lovely and efficient. The security team were amazing, I had a panic attack during the concert and the staff were very accommodating and helped me out. They staff were so lovely throughout our time there and it made me feel very comfortable and safe. Such a wonderful venue with even better staff!
Mcr were fantastic too!
X. T. H.
An excellent large venue. Bars are well laid out to keep waiting times down. Lounges are good if you get access. Sound is always down to the band that is playing - I have heard excellent sound in here so I know the venue itself can handle it. Seats are well laid out so all views are decent. Plenty of toilets scattered about the building.
W. T.
What a place. The Best Concert I ever attended was here and made all the better by the efficient way it is run. The staff were first class, helpful and on the ball. This has to be the best Run place in Glasgow.
M.
Hosting a wide verity of events and offers a large amount of shops/food stalls and so on. Good onsite parking and parking nearby if that fulls up, also close by to other attracts, very well situated. Getting through is pretty easy and security do a pretty quick job at processing.
B. C.
Have seen Diana Ross,Alanis Morissette and Barry Manilow there in the space of a week. All good shows. Beth Orton supporting Alanis as well and Curtis Stigers supporting Barry.
S. L.
I would say one of the best Venues in the UK. I drive 5 hours to get here and worth it, plenty of good hotels just a stones throw away with ample parking. Always attend C2C every year and more recently Brad Paisley. Biggest seats with plenty of room unlike other venues. The new cups they have made it so much easier you can carry up to 8 drinks if you really wanted (crazy I know but I tried ha ha) Well done Glasgow and the Hydro 👏👏👏 once again a great weekend
J. G.
As a venue. no problem..staff very helpful.
Alcohol hyped up prices..as with all types of
similar arena.
The sound on this particular concert was poor (proclaimers)...we were sitting to the bands left, and the band all but drowned out the lyrics of every song.
Heaps of people left after 500 miles..7 songs or so still to go...weird..anyway won't return to see them in the near future.
G. M.
Great place, perfect size and loads of choice of food and drinks on site. The stage set up is excellent and the sound is perfect. So easy to get to also. Love this music venue. Only a shame Edinburgh don't have a venue like this
I.
Really crowded and bustling, you kind of need to know what you're doing before hand, but what can you expect at a sold out concert. The staff are really helpful, they will assist if you are lost etc.
M. B.
First time here on 23 March to see Busted. Great venue, staff were friendly and efficient. Drinks prices weren't too ridiculous (not great priced either).
If visiting I'd recommend staying in one of the hotels nearby (we stayed in the amazing Radisson Red) to avoid th chaos of leaving the car park / getting a taxi.
L. T.
We had level/tier 3 seats and still had a fantastic view.
The acoustics in the SSE Hydro were some of the best I have heard, again being very high up we could hear perfectly and every word sung which was amazing.
I would definitely come back to see a music performance here again!
T. B.
Great event place cool to see the city getting another fantastic conference, show, arena driving the top acts of world to come to Glasgow. Located in Great location next to SECC down at riverside carparking next door and great access to Clydemotorway. Visit the website for all latest shows and events at Hydro.
D.
Great venue. The staff are all very helpful. Drink and food prices are high as they usually are at gigs.
G. M.
Fantastic venue, well designed and perfect for a concert. They have very good crowd control and are by far the best venue for large artists to play in Scotland. The artists that it attracts are fantastic.
J. P.
Excellent concert venue. It's not too large, has great sight lines and acoustics. It seemed very easy to get in and out of. I saw Jeff Lynne's ELO there while visiting from the U.S. and thoroughly enjoyed my experience.
F. M.
Great venue. I was lucky enough to score hydro club tickets. Staff made sure everyone was well looked after. Security staff all polite and helpful. Sound is perfect and venue blends the advantages of the secc and barrowlands well.
M. C.
First time at the Hydro Clubhouse last night, as an upgrade to our tickets. Absolutely amazing! Would definitely recommend to make your night that little bit more memorable.
The food was delicious, and the portions were great. The welcome drink was chosen from a list and there was so many on offer! (The Cosmo in my photos was extra).
The staff were excellent. So friendly and helpful! We will definitely use the Hydro Club again next time we visit.
J. J.
Went with my Wife to see Boyzone here, great venue that holds around 10,000 people. Great sound with easy access to and from your seats. Bars and food outlets available in the main foyer. Very easy to get too and from Glasgow city centre where we were staying, only 2 stops on the train. There are also a number of hotels around the Hydro if you prefer staying nearby. Overall great experience and would go back to watch other bands.
L. M.
Just been to see Kevin Bridges and I must say it was a disappointment. He came on at 9pm and we were leaving at 10.10pm. For the money you pay for a ticket I expected more of a performance. I won’t be going to see him live again I’m afraid, not worth the money :(
H. L. P.
A wonderful venue for conferences, music and sports. I have been to two concerts at this venue both very different experiences. The centre has a food hall as you enter the venue selling everything from 'fish & chips' to 'noodles' or a 'pie & a pint'.
J. H.
A very good concert venue - nothing elaborate, but seats comfortable and well spaced out and acoustics very good. Food and drink expensive, as you might expect.
H. S.
Went to see Elbow here 06.03.18 what a concert ! and a great venue. facilitys were great. fast service at the bars, plenty toilets and clean no time wasted waiting. great spacious place with perfect acousitics and easy walking distance to the many surrounding hotells. and public transport facilitys etc. first time i have been there and will be happy to go back.
D. S.
Went to see Kevin Bridges at the OVO Hydro, great venue for gigs & shows. They did run out of soft drinks, hence the 4* instead of 5*
G. C.
Was there for Deep Purple, excellent view ,excellent sound, only problem we had was we left our debit cards in hotel and just brought cash, all the bars etc were card only
H. T.
Great venue for concerts. Plenty of food outlets, escalators, lifts and stairs to get to upper levels. One of the nicest arenas I've been to.
J. M.
Great time at opening night of Mrs browns boys d'musical great atmosphere lots of laughs singing and dancing was great. Only one thing no taxis at all queues were backed up for at least half a mile. Would recommend walk over Bridge straight onto argyle St.
A. E. M.
Amazing venue, parking really close… watch… it can get very busy in and out…
D. B.
Great venue, only thing I wasn't to happy with is the building is so rigid, you don't feel the place vibrate... The old Apollo used to bounce.
D. P.
Two very different concerts last weekend. Paul McCartney and Madness. Loved both of them... There were fewer Madness fans, therefore it was nice to see some of the hydro seats covered to retain the party atmosphere. Our bags were checked for security which is reassuring

Visited this awesomely huge venue to see Still Game Live (2/2)
The arena is great if you are fit and able however, you might find access to the higher sections rather poorly served, with one, poorly signed, escalator being the only alternative to stair, stairs and yet more stairs.
Once in your seat however, the size adds to rather than detracts from the overall experience.
Next time, if I cant afford 'the stalls' I'm not going.
Footnote; how anyone is happy to pay out Upwards of £75 to climb so many stairs and battle their way, albeit as gently as possible, through the crowds at the end of any event, is beyond me.
M. D.
The best venue i had pleasure to visit to date. Organisation is near perfect. All the stalls are well marked and the queues are rare. Plenty of clean looking toilets as well.
On top of that the food seems to be descent and they're not trying to overcharge for it.
The only setback is parking, but for the venue that big they handled it very well.

🎶🎷🎤 Live Performance 🎹🎻🎵
This indoor arena is the best to see live performances.
You can book the tickets online through Ticketmaster. …

NHS SCOT EVENT 2019 superb venue. Effortless coordination. Great speakers and innovative and exciting to be around like minded people.
D. W.
Eddie and myself went to see Robbie Williams and he was brilliant and even Eddie converted now. Great entertainer. Xxxx
S. P.
Went to see the Hot Wheels monster truck show. My kids really enjoyed it. Be warned it is seriously loud. I brought ear defenders for my kids but wish I’d brought ear plugs for myself. Also they warned the arena might be cold. Despite the storm raging outside it was toasty inside.
We parked in the car park next door which cost £12! If you’re parking here the pay machines are on the 2nd and ground floor. We found the 2nd floor one mobbed but the ground floor one was quieter.
m. t.
Service was really good, got VIP tickets and my party was walked to the restaurant by a member of staff. I couldn't fault the service level in the place, however for VIP ticket settings I was expecting a little more comfort and room as it was pretty tight, which for me was the only thing that kept it from getting a 5 star rating

The SSE Hydro is a remarkable Music Concert Venue. All the fun of a football stadium without the outdoor chills. Great sound stage and a wide variety of seats to suit all pockets and stage proximities.
It's a 'designed for the purpose' modern venue, well facilitated with escalators for the higher tier arena seating and a large area of seats close to the stage. It's very well staffed with friendly, confident well trained people. There is a wide range of "fast food" available in the food court all priced as you would expect (£8 for fish n chips @February 2019). The 'fish supper' was just a wee bit too "fast" for me...read soggy. It filled a hole as they say but if you are a bit fussy like me then you would be better to give yourself time and eat before you go to the venue. Glasgow is full to the brim of really good eating and drinking establishments. Likewise the bar and drinks in the SSE Hydro are what you would expect from a concert venue of its size. Parking facilities are plentyful. Spaces can not be pre-booked at time of writing but the flat rate of £10 (@February 2019) can be either prepaid or postpaid at the monitored ticket machines which accept card or cash payments, including conveniently...paper notes. It all adds to the cost of your concert experience but for the convenience it's well worth it. The Hydro is one of the best venues I've been to and certainly the best in Glasgow.
M. H.
Fantastic venue. Organisation is excellent. Fantastic acoustics and great views wherever you are.
M. M.
Fantastic venue with great acoustics. Friendliest staff ever. Very expensive for food and drinks, however.
J. M. N.
Hydro was good. Seen lewis capaldi last week and was great. Seats were alright to sit on. Staff were really nice and helpful. There was no running water about an hour after we arrived so couldn't flush the toilets or wash hands which was not the best experience.
A. G.
Went to see The Weeknd. Amazing venue. We were seated in the top row of seats central to the stage. Sound was great. Light show was great. The People in front of us were stood up which meant we couldn't see whilst sitting down. Which we didn't mind because we wanted to stand. But this put us in a difficult position with people directly behind us as they sat through the whole concert. Could do with a bigger tv to show the live action to the people sat in seats. Otherwise a very good night.
D. T.
Been here several times for both concert and convention. Good facilities. Disabled-friendly and (for a change) plenty of female toilets!
E. T.
Been to a few shows now and its great, depending where you sit and as expected drinks are pricey. But overall pretty good venue.
L. C.
Great venue, there are no spots in here where you cant see the attraction :D. Toilet and food access is brilliant. Definitely come here If you want an experience you'll never forget!
S. H.
Great venue, well run. Several bars & food outlets within complex. Good acoustics.
C. S.
Such a tremendous night seeing Andrea Bocelli. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful and the entire evening was well managed
R. O.
Amazing time last night! Carrie was amazing as were The Shires. Seats are comfortable and the food/drink isn't MASSIVELY over priced. The staff were all lovely.
J. S.
Nice venue as the seating are decent. Coffee 2.50 for maybe 5ounces is steep. Food choice isn't there but it's good for a concert in
A. W.
The Hydro is a great venue for all sorts of concerts, venue is always clean & staff smartly dressed and helpful, the only thing that let's it down for me is the amount of completely out of their face drunk people who think it is acceptable to throw their drink all over you even in the seated section, was there for Cher concert 4 women in front of us spent the whole concert taking selfie pictures and videos and buying even more drink despite the fact that one of them couldn't even stay on her feet, which totally spoiled this event for me, not to mention the poor woman in front of them who got a full glass of wine thrown over her, having had a full glass of cider and blackcurrant thrown over me previously I know how she feels, the Hydro needs to find some way to address this behaviour so everyone who pays sometimes a few hundred pound to be there get the most from the experience.
K. F.
Beautiful venue for music and sports. I went for the gymnastics in august and loved every second of it. Easy to navigate building with plenty of food options in and around the arena
D. D.
It was a surprise gift and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience of the band. Great fun
S. M.
Seen Lewis Capaldi here with hospitality Entrance tickets. The gig was amazing as expected but not having to stand outside in a queue before hand was great. We had access to the capital FM starsuite before the gig which just made the whole night so much better
A. K.
The hydro is some venue it's massive and really good only sore point is the carpark is a total rip off £10 for two hours sorry but that is very steep and no need for them prices that's why your not 5 star yet. The venue itself fantastic went and seen Kevin bridges it was great even though we were so h8gh up we could see and hear everything so clearly.
G. H.
Great venue, good acoustics.
However, just like all large venues expect to be ripped off with the price of drinks.
Surprised though that even after charging extortionate prices for drinks they add a refundable deposit on plastic drinks receptacles!
Outrageous as they know the majority in the arena won't want to leave to queue for a refund!
Moral of my story, avoid using their bars until the ridiculous plastic receptacle deposit ends!
M. T.
What a fantastic venue! Great view from everywhere but if you're right at the back the stage is pretty far away. The legroom isn't great but is comparable to most venues these days. The disabled facilities are excellent and the staff will do anything for you to help you enjoy your experience.
J. H.
Absolutely amazing performance, one of the best things we've ever seen. Would highly recommend if anybody gets the chance. Also a very nice arena.
S. R.
Good view, reasonable seats, very good sound quality. Internal signage and pedestrian access from Finneston need improvement
L. P.
Absolutely amazing night. Drinks are a bit expensive £10 for a pint of strongbow and a bottle of blue wkd
R. C.
Went to see Ant Middleton which was a fantastic show. Venue is decent. We were front row seats so it did take us a long time to get out the venue after the event. All was clean etc though so nothing to complain about.
S. A.
I saw P!ATD and had a great time, all concert venues can get busy and rowdy so it was expected, the lines outside did not make much sense and I ended up being in the wrong one for a long time. But overall, a great place to see a concert.
P. S.
Great venue for music and comedy always a great atmosphere
S.
Huge place really too big to enjoy the full experience as our seats were up so high!
M. F.
Very poor service, waiting over one hour to get served refreshments twice. Missed three fights in the process.
This service could be improved and speeded up by reducing the menu. Have the pumps constantly pouring.
However in saying the above I still had a great time
D. B.
Saw a number gigs here. The stewards are friendly and helpful. But like all concert venues the drinks are over priced
D. T.
Remarkably this is the first time I've been to the Hydro and I was completely impressed by this venue, what a fantastic space to see and hear bands. The accoustics are second to none, the venue was perfectly accessible, plenty of space in the seats (I'm a big man and I was very comfortable) easy to get in and out of. Just a outstanding venue.
S. C.
Went to see Madness at the OVO, really enjoyed the concert and the venue was excellent. Stayed across the Clyde at the nearby Premier Inn.
M. H.
Great venue for music/ comedy. I have been a few times and will definitely be back. The stall food inside is expensive and poor quality. We usually eat somewhere else before we go. Staff have always been friendly and helpful.
B. B.
Like/hate relationship with this venue.
Went to see My Chemical Romance on the 30th May 2022 (yesterday).
Staff overall (security/general venue + catering) were really friendly. Venue itself looks great architecturally and is well designed for large numbers of punters. Never waiting too long for entry, drinks, takes card, enough toilets which were clean, designated smoking areas, lots of room for standing near the back if you prefer to stand back rather than get in the crowd, accessible areas for those with wheelchairs/mobility issues, free Wi-Fi which worked surprisingly okay albeit with black patches for some of the show etc. etc.
Good transport links, Exhibition Centre train station next door with a cool tunnel which is all part of the experience, usually with buskers playing tunes. No late (after show) trains at the minute (take this into account if you're going here!) though but a short walk (15 mins) to Paisley Road West to get back to Paisley via bus - saves waiting in the insane taxi queues or paying £33 which was quoted to me for an Uber.
Drinks seem to have gone up in price. No Heineken Silver at £6.20 this time and only beer available was £6.80 a pint of Moretti - outrageous prices, even for a venue. At least having 2 nice beer options is an improvement of just Fosters which was £5.50 previously.
Visually the show was fantastic (lighting/projection screens showing camera feeds of the show) but sound was pretty god awful for most of the show. It's hit and miss in this venue, usually it's 'ok' but was really bad last night. Felt like I'd gone back to the days of Limewire at some points during the show. Crowd was really good at this show too and had a good atmosphere all night - although really depends on the type of show you're going to.
Much prefer 'proper' venues like the Barrowland Ballroom, Saint Lukes, King Tuts, O2 Academy, Stereo and even nightclubs-turned-venue like The Garage and Cathouse but for the really big acts you could do a lot worse than this place.
J. S.
Excellent venue
The staff, food and seats were brilliant
J. M.
Went to see Deacon Blue with the VIP access. Brilliant as usual with the private bar and toilets closer by. Really friendly staff and well organised letting you know when the show is starting and no stampede when leaving. Great sound and atmosphere. Well worth the extra expense for the good seats and bar access etc. The only way to enjoy a show.
J. F.
Great venue if you're here for a concert or a show. Very easy to reach by public transport.
The hall itself offers great seating all round. Even the 'cheap seats' will not take away from the enjoyment!
J. M.
Well what can I say!! Here for the Take That concert with my wife, not for the first time and it won't be my last!! Not only was the performance from Take That quite superb to say the least, these guys gave it all from start to finish!! Special effects were out of this world. I think anyone in the huge turnout of ladies, and like myself the guys went home without a smile on there faces!! Can't wait for the next one!! Also I would like to add that the staff in and around the SSE done there job brilliance, and as professionals, especially security. So for a great night out come along to the SSE Hydro!! You won't be disappointed (well depends on who your going to see!!)
G. C.
Great venue for concerts, have attended many times. Clear views from almost all the angled seats. Food hall and toilets just inside the entrance. A little pricey but to be expected really, purchased drinks had to be decantered into plastic glasses to take into the concert hall. Used the multistory carpark at the venue(£11 charge) and walked over the bridge from level 2. Escalators and lifts provide access to higher levels inside the venue.
B. H.
I came to see Kevin Bridges at this venue in September
Friendly staff and great accessibility
M. M.
Seats are incredibly uncomfortable. Staff are nice.
C. “. B.
First time at the Hydro seen Genesis what a brilliant nite but i didn't realise our seats would be such a climb to get to especially with me being disabled then my friend informed me that instead of booking my tickets through ticket master i was to call the venue and book my tickets through them with me being disabled so that is noted for future events getting out of the multi story car park was a nitemare took us an hr jst to get out of the place so that was the only downfall but apart from that we had a great nite 😃
N. B. (. J.
Fantastic venue. Seen War of the World's, Nickelback (backed with Seether) and Kevin Bridges and all fantastic shows, brilliant sound quality and most seating area you can see stage fine. Screens big and clear too. The higher up parts are a bit of a pain to get loo and drinks but second circle up is brilliant as bar right there.
T. M.
Great music venue, been to a few gigs here and the sound is fab.
A. M.
Venue and concert very good. Queuing system leaves a lot to be desired. Easy to reach using public transport and if travelling a good selection of hotels nearby.
C. S.
Second time ive attended Disney on Ice at The SSE Hydro. Staff are friendly and helpful. Prices are in line with other similar venues for food and drinks (a rip off 😂 but its what you expect) parking (fixed price at £11) was easy to find and easy to get to the venue from. On the last visit we came early and used the train to go into Glasgow and back after some shopping and lunch, easy to navigate from there as well! I would happily return to this venue for any future events held here that interest me/my family!
E. M.
Fantastic venue in Glasgow to see your favourite band/artist. Easily walked over from guest house in Kelvingrove area.
A. K.
Great venue for nearly every type of event although prices are a little on the high side .
C. B.
Amazing venue. If you are afraid of heights like me... watch where you are sitting. Staff very friendly and accommodating.
d.
Great venue. Been here a few times and the atmosphere is always brilliant . we were up the back seats for George Ezra but still a good view
D. N.
I was here during the Boy George/Belinda Carlisle and Thompson Twins concert. The venue is great and the seats while not ultra comfortable are good with a decent legroom. Vending machines seem slightly expensive but really, no more than any others. The only downside was if you took a plastic bottle from the machines you had to empty it into a cup. I like drinking at my own pace and closing up a bottle but it was a great performance
F. P.
Great venue everything ran smoothly Security was topnotch friendly and professional the seating was good plenty of legroom. The sound was great and we had a fantastic night thank you all involved
B. U.
Was first time here , for the country to country show , one of the best venues I have been in , acoustics etc are excellent, bar and food inside , at the usual big venue prices
A.
Fabulous venue for live music & entertainment, I’ve attended both sports and music events and had an amazing time for both, the Dua Lipa concert was outstanding but what really made our evening was the kind gentleman working at the event who caught a balloon for my Daughter, gave her a guitar pick from the band and a programme, she was delighted and she’ll never forget it. I’m unsure who this gentleman is or if he’s an employee within the Hydro, I just hope he sees this as I want to say a massive thank you for making our evening that extra bit special.
B. M.
What an amazing space for Glasgow to have. We have been to see comedy, sport, plays and music here and it's all done to the highest standard. Great venue for live music too. Parking is a pain... over in Finnistoun parking used to be free but sadly not now. Would now just be best to take the train to exhibition centre. There is a multistory parking but but its £10 and takes forever to get out of the parking. Not worth it unless u have come from far for a show.
I. M.
Far too big, up at the back you struggle to make out the 2 TV monitors either side of stage. Also no lifts to top tiers so pensioners and infirm have many steep steps to climb.
T. D.
Excellent gig venue in Glasgow, near the SECC. The Hydro regularly attracts top music and entertainment acts.
R. H.
Awesome space, great sound, view looked to be nice from all angles. Only negative was the seating, it was uncomfortable and leg room was tiny. I didn't eat inside, but there is food/drink outlets there.
M. m.
Fab-u-lous! Craig is so dour/funny all at same time but he needs to man up and be a true scotsman! Been a few times now but just gets better and better. If you love strictly you'll absolutely love the tour!
A. H.
Great place for concerts. Always try to get expensive tickets for the best view.
N. F.
Great venue. Friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful location beside the River Clyde.
K. H. (.
Not too bad, been here a few times now but only standing. Paid £10 to leave multi storey car park then when leaving barrier was going up for every car and guy in a high vis told everyone to just keep moving through. So i was annoyed with that.
S. M.
Went to see Queen & Adam Lambert 3rd Dec 2017. Great parking, well organized.
When entering the venue, your not allowed to take in big bags or plastic bottles. I had an unopened plastic bottle of water, but had to open it and pour into large cardboard cup that they provided.
The show was Fabulous!!
Amazing view from Level 2, block 229, Row S, Seat 210. I took binoculars, zooming into Adam was EXCITING!! 💞😍😛😃
The sound, band, vocals, lasers and visuals were breathtakingly stunning! Goosebumps all over! Really enjoyed it!! 💘💗💖
G. L.
Pretty amazing night no problems getting to our seat helpful staff and the bold kevIN entertained the crown
E. C.
A pretty interesting arena. Surely not the biggest one I've never been into but nonetheless quite nice structure, following a big semicirle instead of an oval, like most of the times you see. It's actually even pretty warm inside during winter, which is always nice. Very spacious too I'd say, probably for all of these reasons that a lot more often than I'd expected bands actually did come all the way to Glasgow for their concerts whenever they had an European tour. Quite a lot of good and drinks stands inside too, but I guess pretty much as always, too expensive for my taste. Still, always love coming to it for a concert. Lovely seeing it during the night, all lit up in colors
S. R.
It's a great place perfect for concerts went to see Michael buble on my last visit.
A. B.
Absolutely ace. Very clean and tidy. Comfy enough seatS. most staff were friendly and helpful. Good security. Thoroughly enjoyed the gig :)
P. L.
Fantastic venue, but dantdms show was utter rubbish. My son loved it, but I was bored rigid during entire show!
s. s.
Just wanted to say a huge THANK YOU to all the staff at the Hydro. We went to a gig there recently and my partner, who is disabled, was very apprehensive about going. Every member of staff we encountered from start to finish was amazing - so friendly and helpful. We had an brilliant time and we can't thank them enough.
E. M.
Amazing sound in here, expensive for drinks and taste weird, but as a music venue it's really good.
L. E.
Saw Take That there. Great venue. Stayed overnight at the Radisson Red which was perfect. Nice walk into town next day.
M. Z.
Good security check, very nice venue, friendly staff.
J. M.
Fantastic venue! Very well organised and easy to find your way around, especially for such a large place. The staff were brilliant too. Helpful and extremely pleasant.
R. m.
Great venue. Really poor quality drinks flat and well over priced
A. M. 1.
Was here for scentsy world tour 2019 to see products that were going live march 1st had an amazing time here, the staff were amazing as well
P. G.
Saw Iron maiden there great venue for a great band. Sound was great so to was the view Section K.
M. T.
Good Space not too large, I am in the hydro club and have good seats just up in the first rows in the balcony and th view of the stage is good, not sure if the seats higher up have the best view but they have large screens to view which help, the food is okay in the clubhouse but not to be raved about, I like not queuing and being able To go and relax in the clubhouse or radio booth
D. M. D.
Always thought this place was very big. Tonight I went to see the Steamie and although the show was great I thought the Hydro was to big a lot of the seats were cordoned off backing up my thoughts. Maybe a smaller venue could have been used. Still think the Hydro is a great venue for big events.
M.
Venue good staff friendly but bar staff the slowest i have seen at a venue
M. B.
Went to see Harry Potter with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Wonderful. As expected the food and drink was on the expensive side but not greatly compared to pubs. Staff all very approachable, friendly and helpful. Food court staff efficient.
L. N.
Visited to see Mrs Brown's boys. Was a fantastic venue easy to navigate andplenty of toilets. Only giving 4 stars due to prices at the bar but that's to be expected.
M. M.
Immediately drawing comparisons with Sydney’s Opera House, this building has become one of Glasgow’s iconic images since 1997. The SEC Armadillo contributes to a highly futuristic postcode that also includes the neighbouring The SSE Hydro (a gigantic flying saucer) and the SEC. The epicentre of the concert scene in the city, Foster’s style is a far cry from the sandstone jungle to be found in the nearby west end. Tradition was not to be ignored however as the layered exterior design was created to represent interlocking hulls of ships – a nod to Glasgow’s shipbuilding past.
T. D.
The acoustics are great. Seating is a long way from the stage if there aren’t overhead screens. Still a venue I would come back to over and over to hear live music.
Only wee snag is that the seats are a nuisance to get between and the rows are long without breaks. People are constantly having to get up and down for those going to the bar or whatever. They are really well tiered tho so visibility is great.
Parking is really convenient next door but be prepared to queue for a long time to get out at night from the upper floors. If you’re buzzing from the concert that’s not so much of a problem.
A. R.
Biggest venue in Glasgow. Not an easy public transport. Closest train station is Exhibition Centre from which need to walk another 10-15 mins.
The view is good from any seat, even from the top level. No lift access or escalator to level 3, only stairs.
Food and drinks ate way overpriced and they don't allow to bring our own ones.
Picture taken from level 3 at André Rieu concert.
S. M.
Great venue amazing seats and sound quality for going to see live bands
J. C.
Great venue, security staff very friendly. Barely a queue to get in and loads of staff to help you find seats etc
There's some sort of loyalty box but not sure how to find. Perhaps worth a Google?
Otherwise good views from most places

Visited for the first time a couple of weeks ago. My daughter and I had a fantastic afternoon /evening. I walk with a Troja and we very much appreciated how friendly and helpful the staff were, both outside and inside. The building itself is easily accessible for disabled people with more than 1 entrance available. Inside was very busy and I got jostled about and bumped into several times as we tried to get past the queues at the souvenirs shop and food/drinks kiosks. We were met by a lovely lady who showed us where our seats were and took my Troja to the side of the seating area whilst the show was on. Afterwards she spotted my daughter and brought it back to us. Our whole experience from start to finish was fantastic.
K. M.
Was great night and wrestling fantastic but could look at pricing especially for families drinks and food expensive
T. G.
Fantastic night out to see the Chili Pepper's. We stayed across at the hilton. Staff were really friendly. Lots of space and options for food. They tried really hard to spread out the queues whilst waiting for drinks/food. Acoustics are great in the building, we will be visiting again this year.
R. L.
Great new arena, comfortable seats with enough legroom for even relatively tall people (6') view is good from almost every seat I've been in.
M. C.
Seeing Genesis together for maybe the last time was brill. Fantastic seats, fantastic concert.
M. M.
Decent enclosed easy access venue very similar to the O2 in Greenwich in London but smaller. Also suffers the same reverberant acoustic problems as the Greenwich O2 from my tier one seat which slightly spoilt the evening. Is this a problem at all fully enclosed live music venues???? Just need to be in the pit in front of the stage next time!!! Food and drink offer is standard. Fosters swill lager at £5 a stingy pint. They never top up or top out pints at these places do they?? Pleasant staff easy to navigate. Would definitely return.
J. L.
Its a nice arena apart from the heavy security theatre on entry. A lot of customers had their water bags searched and bottles of water emptied on the ground.
P. 1.
Yet again delayed getting into the venue by "security" with some BS excuse why you can't take water in with you. The alternative to throwing it in the wheelie bin provided is to pour it into a paper cup which makes it taste foul. Whilst I was insisting on my two cups same said doorman forgot to search my bag looking for god knows what and forgot to wand me with a detector that apparently detects nothing as none went off even though the other venue goers were covered in metal. Stop pretending, Ovo. Keep an eye on dodgy looking people with rucksacks not elderly ladies with bags big enough to hold lippy and a tissue.
D. M.
Huge music venue for events with decent bar/restaurant next door in the SEC. Free cash points inside. Right on the Clyde river close to city centre and west end.
J. N.
Parking charges are rediculous however the venue its self is very good
b. “. b. p.
Great venue to watch and listen to any type of music
Michael Buble was fantastic to see at the Hydro
M.
Shown right to our seat, staff were pleasant. The lines for food/drink are so long though. But I suppose that can't be helped. If you can get a close enough seat, it's an enjoyable experience. Went to see KB and Shania Twain, which were both really enjoyable. The front row seats aren't tiered at all... So unfortunately if a tall person is sat infront of you, you will struggle to see.
S. T.
Attended the Sam Smith concert. Well organised entry. Lovely venue. Prices were what you'd expect at a gig. Didn't need to queue too long for drinks or to use the toilets.
S. A.
This place is out of the world. The concerts that happen here is an experience. The security and staff handle everything very professionally.
D. C.
A first class venue which can cater for a wide variety of events. There are a number of hotels in close proximity. The nearest rail station is Exhibition Centre.
I. D.
Very good venue staff very helpful great gig
G. L.
Amazing venue, all the staff and stewards were lovely friendly and helpful. I would absolutely recommend buying the extra ticket for the Hydro Club it was totally amazing no queuing at all and earlier entry, your own private table for the night in the club restaurant and separate toilets and bar. Thanks for an excellent night out OVO Hydro 5 star experience we will definitely be back for more gigs.
H. W.
Good seats, view of the stage and acoustics. Helpful staff. Area around can be very busy for popular gigs.
R. L.
Saw Swedish house mafia here,
Great place with easy transportation links to the city
A. M.
Good venue, staff were lovely and helpful.
M. R.
Was at the 21 pilots bandito tour here. There is no experience quite like ten thousand people all chanting in unison.
K. f.
Great show from both cheap trick and Def leppard was totally amazing
P. S.
Amazing experience seeing Roger waters live, the venue is perfect for the sound of the acoustics to travel the area.
G. S.
Great venue for big gigs. Huge arena for different events.

On February 11th I was at the Concert Simply Red Summer 2022. The sound was amazing Mick sounded brilliant but I could not see the Show as people were standing and going in and out. I would like to thank Ryan, one of the Stewards, who was so kind, helpful and understanding as I have health issues.
C. K.
Amazing concert venue friendly and helpful staff
C. L.
A huge array of stars and shows to see👍Staff really friendly and helpful. The only downside is the parking is an absolute rip off and a nightmare to leave the car park with long queues😞 …
V. B.
Great atmosphere and beautiful place to go and see a concert...on that case Andrea Boccelli, was an amazing night and the place it’s well connected and not far from the city centre. Definitely recommended

Great venue. Saw Rod Stewart here. Toilets good...fod and drink available. Long queues for drink tho. Sound and seating plan great.

Great venue! Very pleasant staff.

Fantastic venue at the war of the worlds concert better than the last concert vastly improved highlight for my wife and i Kevin Cliffton the infantryman all artists were excellent and the music is timeless worth every penny if you can go to this concert amazing.

Sse hydro Glasgow Scotland concert area .loads of events. Country to country music ever year.

We visited the Hydro for the 7th March Dave concert and although the performance was amazing, the management and organisation of the queues was shocking. We queued for 2 and a half hours and people behind us couldn’t get even get in, there was no queue system and instead was just crowds off people all trying to push in at once which caused fights, for roughly 45 minutes we only moved about a metre. The door staff were lovely but the overall management was extremely poor.
A. L.
My first time there it was a blast to see fast and furious live! Definitely recommend going there
m. m.
Stereophonics were superb on 21st March then back again tonight for Geoff Wayne's War of the World's. Entry was quick and very well organised and brilliant seats. Show was fantastic

It's a fantastic place for gigs, you feel safe too. Eating outlets, and drink outlets inside. Seating good and clear views, but standing better. Good sounds too.

Madness and Squeeze Gig
Efficient and friendly staff - hardly any queueing to enter building as they have a great system in place even though the place was full.
£10.00 for JD and Coke, plus a pint of Foster - not bad.
Would highly recommend this venue for an event.
O. S.
Great for concerts, food & drinks are expensive. Toilets are clean staff are pretty nice.
A. S.
Excellent Travis concert. Great way to kick off the Christmas celebrations
L. R.
The venue is fantastic. Comfortable seats. Great, friendly, helpful staff. Plenty of bars instead of 1 for everyone.
J. C. (.
Super venue. For it's size easy to access seating and generally good views of stage even from higher seats. Great sound as well.
S.
I went here to watch the Gorilaz live and wow! Fantastic night and all they security staff were really helpful. Great place to enjoy for Gigs
K. C.
Nice venue however parking is way overpriced. £11 for 2 hours!!
D. C.
Great venue for all sorts of events and the staff are very helpful. I've been for music, comedy and sporting events and it has handled them all really well.
K. H.
Probably the best concert venue in Scotland and one of the best in UK. Not bad sound and you can always see whats going on. Well laid out with helpful staff.
H. D.
Tommy & I went to see Tears for Fears concert with Alison Moya. We both had a Fantastic time. 😊😊 …
S. G.
Have been to see a few gigs of Australian pink Floyd and the place was full with singing pink Floyd fans. Excellent service helpful staff, great sound. Also saw jack white with a half full arena and the sound was as good. But jean Michel jarre blew the crowd. But looking forward to watching Roger waters on june 26th 2018.
F. H.
Really enjoyed my night at the boxing..Josh Taylor fighting Victor Postol..
J. A.
Great venue and location. Staff really nice and helpful. Good bar and food too 👍 …
M. C.
Been to this venue twice now. Absolutely love it staff are very helpful and there are some great places to eat.
d. m.
Great venue, helpful and friendly, security and staff
I. C.
Pretty bad sound, but laid out we'll and nice staff.
a. c.
Love the hydro great venue, helpful staff and fab concert
J. M.
Excellent and airy this venue is fantastic for people with eyesight problems as there are 2 large screens at either side of the main stage
A. B.
The Hydro Club is outstanding. Fantastic way to watch a show. Staff were excellent and couldn't have been more attentive. Loved it
M. B. (.
Easy to navigate arena and seeing Still Game there twice in a fortnight was an experience I will never forget.
C. M.
Absolutely fantastic night at the hydro seeing boyzone. Can't wait to go back again on the 12th. Everyone pretty friendly. Amazing show.
A. M.
Maybe it was for Imagine dragons, but I loved the venue. Perfect sound, impressive architecture, convenient location.
J. A.
Went to premier league darts. Not the best view, but seats were cheap. Just wish the drinks queues weren’t so long. Massive venue should have more concessions.
F. S.
Easy access, well designed pleasuredome, singular unfussed style. Immediate thought on interior was Vavatch Orbitals, damage game arena from Consider Phlebas.
N.
Incredible venue. Slow to get in though but once in the place is great. Atmosphere is always on point
D. M.
It's so spacious, very easy to access,
The pictures below is from an event we went to see in the Hydro - Walking with Dinosaurs.
K. T.
Saw Cher in October 2019 the place is a good fair size lighting and sound was very good very kind staff help you find your seats
B. E.
The atmosphere was incredible.
You can't beat a Glasgow crowd.
The mosh pit was closed unfortunately but I still had a blast.
Second time I've been in the last 12weeks.
Both times were spot on.
Hopefully I'll get my booster Jag here in the winter 👍
M. M.
Great venue for large concerts although leaving at end is a bit crowded. Unrestricted views of stage. Good sound
b. d.
A great place to see a band or comedy act. Drink a bit overpriced but the sound and view were great. Would recommend a night out there
N. S.
Great place to be. I saw James Arthur here recently & the atmosphere was amazing.
A. C.
We went to see Mogwai perform their biggest home town set the other day and was amazed by the location and the whole building itself.
R. L.
Great venue for concerts. Nice VIP areas.
R. A.
We came to see Dancing on Ice. We got admitted swiftly, the toilets and facilities were clean, staff were friendly and helpful and the show itself was good.
S. V.
Security is too much and inneffective. If you have something you shouldn't, just get a woman to carry it. They don't get frisked.
C. G.
Looks quite small on the outside, but it's beautiful inside, nice effects and very good sound.
C. C.
Had a fantastic time at strictly come dancing live in the hydro.
d. g.
Great place to see live show. Great accoustics. Easy access from city centre. Great choice of food and drink.
V. M.
Surprised that people where allowed by stand in front of others and no security people there to ask them to sit down. Spoiled the concert for me. Too much drink allowed in.
C. A. D.
Great venue, staff were brilliant. Slow at the bar but to be fair, the crowd was enormous.
w.
Very well organised venue with helpful, friendly staff.
G. B.
Well organised venue with easy access.
S. D.
Lovely venue. Staff friendly. Have seen a few shows here.
M. A.
Great venue overall, sound was good and arena area was well set out. Problems with access to male toilets at the beginning of the Gig and a bit of a delay on entrance.
J. E.
A brilliant venue.
Ideal for gigs, with a massive floor + seating.
Seats are good and comfortable.
Friendly staff, that made you felt welcome.
A fine venue for Glasgow.
s. f.
Great venue staff helpful and friendly sound amazing
R. R.
Arcade Fire gig. Outstanding. Great venue
C. D.
Very good helpfull staff. Only criticism I have is when getting to seats on the higher seats you have to watch your step as there is no handrails To Help people with walking problems.
L. F.
Won a competition in the executive box it was a fantastic experience and a great view will always want a box now I have experienced it.
J. G.
War of the Worlds 40th Anniversary Tour. Brilliant night out. Well staffed and clean toilets.
A. Z. G.
Not the best sound quality for such a good venue place :(
M. B.
Most annoying when people are not seated for start of show but doesn't help when people are wrongly directed by the hydro ushers and end up having to ask a whole row to stand up in order for them to reach their seats! 😡 …
G. B.
Really good venue. Parking a night mare at end of concert. Nearly 2hrs to get out of multi storey park.
F. C.
I was just visiting the Hydro in order to meet Sir Chris Hoy,
as I was a Volunteer for the European championships in Glasgow but I have been inside Venue and it really is Fantastic
A. J.
Fantastic night and mind blowing experience watching the Australian Pink Floyd Show.
A. M.
Went to see Years & Years, the venue was amazing and the staff were really helpful at helping you find where you needed to sit etc

g. j.
it's a well organized place and staff there is really nice.
r. e.
Great staff, easy to navigate. Amazing venue close to the city centre & good transport links
C. R.
Been to a few gigs here in both public and corporate area. Good parking facilities and choice of food. The main hall is very good for gigs. You can tell it was purpose built for live music as the acoustics are so good. There isn't a bad seat in the building for live music.
S. T.
Went to the hydro on Saturday with my mum who has mobility issues. The staff at the hydro were so helpful we can’t thank them enough got my mum in sharp nothing was a bother, girl had my mums walker for her at the end of the show thanks to you all
R. R.
Make sure you bring extra money with you because the food+drink can be pricey
🤘🤘 …
M. P.
Excellent place for a convention of about 8 to 9 thousand people
s. X.
The sound here is first class better to sit around the middle tiers level 2 or 3 for a good view
p.
good sound, good seats, great show, well organised despite the size of the place
C. H.
Great Venue, only been once so far, seen Paul Weller, great show, great location.
G. C. (.
Seen Russell Howard at this awesome venue , staff were helpful facilities were good. Will definitely visit again for another event .
Y.
Really like this venue and, now that I've sat in the highest seat in the house (see photo - top tier, back row!) I feel suitably qualified to comment as I've now watched shows from all available viewpoints. Prior to being up there I'd heard all sorts of horror stories about the "endless stairs" that have to be negotiated and the "terrifying steepness" of the seats - neither were as bad as had been made out but I can see that older people or people with mobility issues could struggle. However, the venue does not attempt to hide this and I can't see that anyone would unknowingly find themselves in an tricky situation when they arrive for an event.
I like the atmosphere here and the sound quality is, in my experience, always spot on which can't always be said for venues of this type.
Staff here are always very friendly, efficient and helpful and, logistically, the speed at which the venue empties at the end of an event always impresses me.
S. M.
Grandchildren loved visiting the SSE Hydro... My only complaint was that it was a bit expensive for merchandise and something to eat and drink.
G. O.
great venue, great acoustics, a few more elevators would be perfect
T. V.
Great venue. Saw Hall and Oates on May 1st. Seating at an angle so caused some straining. Great facilities and reasonable prices.
I. D.
Great venue for concerts. I have been in most of the areas from standing to a box. Great experience and always got great views.
K. J. C.
Easy to get to & good parking. Acoustics are just great and atmosphere is welcoming and friendly (even from the bouncers!)
M. W.
Excellent venue. Great sound.
g. c.
What a great place nice and big airy seating great not been for a concert but I imagine its brill
M. M.
Lovely venue although an awful lot of stairs to climb. No lift service to seats at the top
N. M.
Currently opened under the name Louisa Jordan hospital was very understaffed buy staff on were great in keeping us up to date and queue moving.
C. C.
I like this venue and have attended a good few concerts recently. Staff have always been helpful. As usual with any venue food and drink can seem overpriced for ordinary food. Facilities are ok as again with any venue at peak times the toilets can be a bit of a nightmare and I suppose how people treat the facilities has a lot to do with it as well. Pretty much all the gigs I have been to I reckon the sound has been really good and a good atmosphere.
A.
Went to watch the Tartan gig there absolutely amazing good food kind staff.
L. W.
Great venue, although staff need a little customer service skills. Very abrupt and disrespectful
L. W.
Great place seen little mix
C. B.
Comfortable seating, well organised and kept. Excellent facilities and wide range of food /drink available.
b. f.
Great atmosphere lots of carparking space just minutes / seconds away. Staff are very friendly inside the hydro will be back for further visits
K. M.
Excellent. Plenty of staff so got straight to our seats even though there was quite a big queue outside. Plenty of toilets too!
N. E.
Great venue but really need to stop people entering the arena during the support act, especially in the seated areas.
Constant standing up of people ruins the performance.
Get there on time or wait till the interval
Works fine in the concert hall and will make for a better atmosphere
F. T.
Great venue. Sat up and to the side of the stage but had a great view. Easy to access and the crowd flowed out really well. Plenty of staff. Only one staff member on the bar during the show. My daughter needed a drink of water and it took quite some time. But great experience overall.
M. S.
Love the venue and everytime i come here to see something, its amazing
C. S.
Went to see Michael buble with my husband... BRILLIANT show . it was a present from our kids for Christmas.
P. R.
Always a great venue to see any band or events taking place. Lots of nearby parking, easy and usually quick access with plenty of internal directions to seating. Bars and snack vendors on the ground floor along with loo's where you need em! Helpful staff on hand to guide you to your seat.
All in a great venue in my opinion.
Was here to see the Stereophonics in March. Top gig.
H. N.
This is an excellent venue, it is pretty huge and when you are right at the back, you are a long way from the band but you still get the atmosphere. The sound is amazing, the staff are helpful and it doesn't matter where you are, from the standing area to any of the seats, you are right there and it is easy to enjoy yourself. Getting there is easy but parking is becoming increasingly expensive.
E. D.
Drinks expensive because of deposit. Could all the non refunded deposits be donated to charity?
M. M.
Visited 26/05/18 to see Bryan Adams.
Entry and exit quick and smooth. Helpful staff and plenty of toilets.
C. O.
Easy in and out of the arena, decent food and good travel links.
N. S.
OUTSTANDING gig from George Ezra in a great place. easy to get to and well organised for kicking out time
T.
First time in Glasgow for a concert great spot . Hotel was a 3 minute walk away
l. k.
Great venue for sound and view. Parking awful £8 charge then it takes nearly an hour to exit
A. E.
An amazing live event experience. The best venue with the best audience. Æ
B. F.
Amazing atmosphere in this wonderful stadium at Strictly Live Show
C. O.
Fantastic venue! Great view from all seats! Beautiful venue from the outside as well!
C. M.
Been here to see a few different shows. The chairs are comfier that many other venues I've been too. It always feels safe with plenty of staff members on hand who are friendly and helpful. They're are many different food and drink options but it was a bit annoying that they weren't open during the performance.
L. J.
Had a great nite at the steamie great show plenty room to sit and you can see over the person in front of you 😎 …
P. C. R.
Amazing venue and food at hydro club
A. G.
Been there twice seated was amazing, maybe just prices for food and drinks could be better, but overall very good.
J. F.
Saw fast and the furious live show and was really good. Bit pricey for snacks and drinks but always is at these venues
B. G.
Very well organized and great friendly staff
S. “. F.
Best venue ever. At last, a venue that caters for tall people. The only venue I've been that hasn't required me to wrap my knees around my shoulders. Loads of room, comfy seats and the venue staff very polite and helpful. How all public venues *should* be. The stairs to the top level were quite steep, but the tickets do state only accessible by stairs so we came prepared and in plenty of time. There is an escalator part of the way too (and I think I saw a lift)
S. W.
Superb venue, not a bad seat in the house!!
K. O. C. (.
Great venue! Seems run really efficiently especially the parking operation which is close and in a high story car park. Staff always seem really helpful. The views even from the cheapest seats are great. A criticism would be the state the toilets can get during an event here. They need some more cleaning staff that can check them especially when a health and safety risk is created through over or miss use.
P. V.
Needs a big event to fill this huge space. Not a great place to fully appreciate your favourite band, unless they're very big & loud...
J. W.
Sound and space are brilliant, good atmosphere. Too pricey for drinks but to be expected. Very long wait time to use bathroom which should be taken into consideration. Few issues but the best place to see live performances!
M. D.
It's a great venue for concerts or any other events that happen in the hydro. People are going in there for their covid vaccinations which is good. The SSE Hydro is quite big inside, so hopefully there will be more events coming soon.
E. M.
Easy to get to, ,no queing at a busy venue
T. S.
Totally amazing venue, very organised and friendly staff.
J. H.
I went to see rita ora and it was amazing highly recommended
d. k.
It's an amazing venue. Not cramped, large and spacious. The music sound is amazing.
Lots of staff on hand to help with anything, and they do. They're really approachable and friendly. Facilities such as toilets and bars etc are great.
All round a great place
D. S.
It's better than just ok, it is a fine venue, always good viz of the stage and staff are helpful. The loos on the upper levels let it down and so do the drinks on offer. I mean they're pretty pricey and not that great like £5 for a fosters? Or £5.50 for pretty poor white wine. Don't usually go to a gig/concert just to drink usually want to enjoy it. However staff are good and it is a good venue for sound and all.
C.
We used our SSE rewards and it made life considerably easier. Skip the massive queues, own private area for food and drink. Really great.
The venue itself is really good, absolutely huge. The view from high up is clear but it's quite a bit away from the main stage. Would try to get first tied up or sitting on the main floor.
Great venue.
A. P.
First time at this venue so we were unfamiliar with layout. Our seats weren't brill, as very close to a safety barrier. Claire (one of the support staff), offered to see if any spare seats available. She took us to the booking office who found us better seats, then took us to the correct door. She was really friendly, kind and helpful, and made our night. Overall we loved the venue and would definitely return
F.
It was warmer than I thought it would be. The seats aren't the most comfortable for 3 hours seated show glad for the interval.
F. M.
Great venue which is well laid out and thought through. Car parking is plentiful in the multi story car park with link bridge to the front doors. The bathrooms are the best I have seen at an events venue - better than some hotels!! The usual highly priced drinks and snacks.
W. Y.
One of the best nights this year. Staff were annexing and very very friendly. Made the experience even better!!
S. J.
Great venue for any live performance. Easily accessible. Staff are great at crowd control. Have never had a bad seat. Bar and food is really expensive. Don't get a taxi afterwards. You'll be waiting for ages. Walk a little further into the city and you'll have more luck.
J. G.
Easy car parking and good communication while in the venue
J. F.
Good venue, easy to get to and staff are nice. Plenty of toilets and not massive queues. Only minus point is the seats need to be a bit more comfortable, you go numb when sitting for a long time during a theatre show.
C. K.
Fantastic venue clean and well managed
S. L.
Brilliant venue for big shows (Def Leppard in this case - excellent !!!) All the staff are so very helpful and happy to help. Having mobility problems this is so important to me and the staff couldn't have done any more to assist. Venue has lots of toilet facilities and food and drink bars on every level, making it so easy to get to no matter where you're sitting. Seating is comfortable enough to enjoy the show. Great place !!!
R. M.
Cool venue extortionate price for beers and soft drinks but hayhooo captured audience is what it is.
L. M.
Sound quality was good. We were on the top tier as that was only tickets left. This area was poor. Although we could here the concert the lights obscured the screens. It felt light we were watch others below enjoy the concert rather than being part of it.
J. m.
Great venue for music , can recommend use of v.i.p. lounge was fantastic boy George was brilliant
C. G.
Impressive venue allowing all the big names in entertainment to come to Glasgow! Only downside is the queues for bar etc
P. D.
A fabulous venue which opened approx 3 years ago. Seats around 13k people with not a bad view in the place. The facility's are very good round the concourse with food like fish and chips, pizza ect all available plus plenty of bars. Car parking is available within easy walking distance and a number of hotels on site. The staff I met where brilliant, helpful and friendly. Great venue
J. I.
Great venue - went to see George Ezra and Sigrid. From seated area we could still see the full show from very comfy seats. Great that there are so many vendors (all same prices throughout arena from what I saw) and toilets.
P. O.
Since this is a fairly new venue it is pretty good.
It's easy to get to by road and rail. Parking in the multi storey is convenient and costs £10 for up to 12 hours.
Seating is reasonably comfortable and there are plenty of toilet facilities.
Plenty of fast food outlets inside the venue which are not too expensive
A. P.
Good sized venue with decent sound quality. Personally do not like how high up the further back seats are so if you have hight issues I would be mindful when booking to get a low level seat. Easy to get to by train or walking from the city centre. Always clean and no sticky floors whenever I've been which is a bonus. Drinks are overpriced but that's to be expected in a venue like that.
m. w.
Great venue great sound system and the staff are very friendly and helpful
S. D.
Good view even from quite high up and sound very good too. The Eagles were fantastic.
M. H.
Benn to see a few shows and concerts here easy to travel to trains are regular do not take any foods or drinks in with you, they do searches for public safety
G. M.
This is a fantastic venue with excellent facilities. The public toilets are clean and tidy and there are many, many food and drinks stands around the building. Unfortunately the choice of food and drink is very limited, don't expect anything remotely healthy, and these tend to be expensive but no more than any other arena.
The seating is quite comfortable and there is an adequate amount of leg room. However, if someone wants to get out of the row be prepared to stand up to let them by. Also the rows can be very long in some areas so if you are in the centre seats and need to continually get out to buy food or drinks or to go the bathroom be prepared to disturb a good number of people.
You can get a good view in the lower stands but I wouldn't recommend going above the first tier if you want to see clearly. Anything higher and you'll feel like you are very far away from the stage.
There are a variety of transport links but the surrounding areas are almost entirely restricted parking so it can be difficult to find free on street parking within a reasonable walking distance, especially during the day. Do your research on what will suit your party best before travelling.
S. D.
Great venue for gigs. Plenty of space and so easy to get in and out of. Lots of food choice once inside as well as bars etc. Never been in the sitting section but the standing area is great and easy to see the stage from any position. Parking really easy with the multistorey carpark next door. Sound has been amazing every time I have been. Well worth the trip to see your favourite bands!
A. W.
Great venue for gigs, always a good atmosphere, but they need to be better (i.e. quicker) at letting people in to the venue. Queues outside are horrendous due to the time it takes for security staff to scan people's tickets at the doors - arrive early or you'll miss the start of your gig like I did!
B. C.
I am a regular patron at the Hydro. I have found it in general to be an excellent venue. As a wheelchair user I have found it suitable for those with mobility problems.
There are two points I would point out. Firstly to me the Bass frequencies of live music is a bit muddy although not bad enough to ruin a concert. The other thing is prices within the Hydro. I know prices can be high in such venues but I think their pushing it a bit. I understand that for security and safety reasons you can't take drinks into the Hydro, but because of that you are basically forced into paying these silly prices. I am speaking of soft drinks but I assume all drinks are price are high. As a post script, I recently attended another concert at which I was one level up in a wheelchair section which I believe is not always used. I was in an area that was actually behind the level of the Drummer. I could actually see behind the stage. I would Council that when purchasing tickets that you take this into account. Both the view and sound was dreadful. I had previously awarded four stars however I now feel I must downgrade it to three.
l. m.
Went to see Flight of the Conchords at the SSE Hydro and this has to be the best concert venue I have ever been in. I hate when you have to strain to see an act on stage even with big screens but that wasn't an issue here. Plus queues for food and drink went down quickly so you are in your seat pretty much within 20 minutes from entry. Great venue will visit again for sure.
L. N.
Brilliant again, just in case it's not a known service. At the information point you can borrow ear defenders for kids at concerts.
H. C.
Really good sound for this sort of venue, drinks and food selects are extremely limited, and you can't bring anything in with you, but free tap water is available on request. There were plenty of toilets so the queues weren't too bad, but a fair few of them were blocked by the end of the night
J. H.
Great Gig For Queen + Adam Lambert!!
