I had such a fab day photographing Hannah & Stu’s wedding at The Engine Works. It’s a little industrial oasis, filled with original period details that proudly display its industrial heritage: brick walls, cast iron columns and concrete floors make it the perfect gritty, urban events space. And nestled in between the canal and the venue lies The Engine Works’ private gardens, a gorgeous, secluded oasis (in the middle of the city! Who knew?) Safe to say all of these elements make it a pretty awesome wedding venue: not only a Glasgow wedding photographer’s dream to shoot at, but a perfect personalisable party spot for couples like Hannah and Stu.

IF YOU'RE GETTING MARRIED HERE it's worth reading this review. My band (The Jiggers Ceilidh Band) played here on Saturday night and from start to finish we were treated extremely well. It was our first time there, but we're going to be playing there again before long. The staff at the venue were all super polite, and the floor manager Isla and later Freya were both extremely friendly and easy-going. The wedding was catered by Regis catering I think, who were also dead nice and friendly. The buffet food was good (tacos and fish & chips). All the guests seemed really happy and had good banter with the guys working the bar (as well as with the band lol) The room itself is an old factory as the name suggests, and it's got a classic, understated but stylish slightly steam punk vibe. Acoustics were surprisingly good, and there was a big dance floor for the ceilidh and the disco afterwards. Would strongly recommend this as one of Glasgow's great choices for a wedding venue. We have a list of 100 wedding venues in Scotland on our website, and I don't think this is on there yet because it's quite newly refurbished as a venue I think, but definitely a contender for a top Glasgow venue. *UPDATE* been back a few times since this review. Every single time staff have been soooo nice, efficient, helpful. Such a great vibe, wedding guests all just seem really happy here.

We recently held our wedding here and it was truly a fantastic venue. The space is really beautiful and has such a lovely relaxed vibe. All our guests commented on how stunning it was. The staff were absolutely incredible and could not have done enough to help us, they really went above and beyond what we ever expected. First time at this venue for a wedding a few weeks ago, the venue and building looked fantastic, bit out of the way in between the city center and westend but easily reachable, the layout was good with indoor and outdoor spaces which were all wheelchair friendly with the staff being very attentive with a guest who needed assistance with a mobility scooter, bar reasonably priced what you'd expect to pay at weddings, catering was not provided by the venue, only gripe was the bar was happy to accept cash but not provide change not a huge deal but frustrating for some buying a single drink, overall nice venue that if it fits your aesthetic would recommend.

The most perfect, stunning unique venue. The staff are amazing and go the extra mile to help. Nothing was too much trouble, they had thought of everything! When we arrived at our wedding, (Michael the owner) helped my elderly relatives out of their taxi and ensured they were looked after even bringing a mobile ramp out to allow them to safely move around the venue. Isla made sure our day ran smoothly and that everything went like clockwork. She was such a pleasure to work with. We had the perfect wedding day here and wish we could do it all again!

What an amazing events space. Great for weddings, parties, meetings, gigs and filming. All the facilities one could wish fir and a host who bends over backwards to help, and who has put his heart and soul into making a world class venue. Refreshing to meet someone who has put the money where his mouth is. You should be very proud of what you have achieved Michael. Ill be back very VERY soon.

Went for the first time to the Super Market. Wonderful stalls and friendly people. Next one is the 1st of September. There's also coffee and food stalls and face painting for kids. So this is a wee find not to miss all in a beautiful building.

Went to Super Market here on Sunday. It's a great event for kids and shoppers of quirky items, but the food offering was poor, with just three stalls, one of which was sold out of everything. If the food and drink offering was expanded, I'd go to the event every time.

Conducted an outdoor wedding here in a stylish gazebo - venue is COVID19 ready and staff are careful, informed and ensuring the event is of a high standard while within all current guidance. My experience as a Celebrant conducting a wedding was excellent; everything was as it should be and the coordinator Isla could not have been more friendly and helpful both before the date and on the day itself. Venue itself has great industrial history and would make an interesting, quirky venue for a whole host of events. Be aware of limited parking and allow time for the regular traffic problems that occur on Maryhill Road - or take an alternative route.

This is surely one of Glasgow's (if not Scotland's) most stunning hidden gems. The owner has lovelingly restored this Architecturally unqiue building into a stunning events space with fantastic facilities. Cant wait for my next visit!

We went to visit a wedding fayre and even the hussle and be of all those venders and brides and grooms didn't make the place feel any less bare. I was considering, but it's a big space and you would need a very large wedding party and a lot of decoration to soften the derelict factory style edges.

I went to the market at the engine works it was interesting to see so many different arts&crafts& teeshirts&beenies by a young designer there was food stalls also although i did not indulge in any of the food i must say the smell of it was delicious it made me feel hungry..i will be paying a visit&you should too to the next one
