We hired ALS group to cater for our wedding in June 2022. We were very limited with who was still available for our date after our original venue (who offered a package deal) let us down about 11 months before our date. ALs were still available and were initially really good. Tammy is a credit to the company but even working with Tammy didn't save the experience for us, unfortunately. We had a bespoke menu and agreed on a price per head. Tammy and I spoke about 10 months prior to the wedding and I said given how many times we have had to postpone (due to covid), the likelihood is that the number of guests would fluctuate. I was told over the phone, don't worry over the numbers as this will be confirmed around 8 weeks before. 8 weeks before arrived and this conversation had been forgotten, perhaps my fault for not getting it in writing. We had to keep the original numbers that was a pure guess many months previous and ended up being a difference of around £500. Tammy realised I wasn't happy over this and did try to soften the blow by throwing in cloth napkins and salt and pepper at no extra charge.
Fast forward to the wedding, communication fell about 2 weeks before. Of course they were busy as it was wedding season but even on the day they were supposed to be dropping everything off so we could set up the venue no one could confirm a time that would be. 4 hours later than I had asked (no phone call or email update) they rocked up as I had to leave for my rehearsal (at 3pm - the site closes at 4!) Thankfully our wedding coordinator could stay behind and finish off, but no one from ALS knew what was where and it caused no end of confusion.the cloth napkins turned to paper napkins, dirty jugs, and no salt and pepper in the pots ?! They did rectify this, but very frustrating trying to sort last minute before the site closed and no real support or apology from ALS side for the massive delay and lack of communication to me who was paying them for their services.
On the day the food was really nice, and the top table had good reviews. Unfortunately it wasn't until after the wedding that the guests told me that everyone else's food was stone cold, which is really disappointing given ALS are supposed to be very experienced in catering events like weddings.
Overall, the whole experience was okay. I wouldn't book them again for a wedding. They were the only supplier who i had issues with, and not just one, it seemed to be a headache at each stage - the build up, setting up and then after the event when there were some complaints. It felt like an inexperienced company who wasn't particularly organised, hadn't served 80 guests in one go before, and to top it off their communication towards the end was particularly shoddy.
My recommendation would be to hire this company for lesser important events with a smaller guest number which I'm sure sure could handle. Or perhaps a buffet style wedding. I definitely wouldnt recommend as a competent company who I would hire again for a sit down meal at a wedding.

We had them cater for us at Poacher Scout camp. It was difficult at first as I believe there were assumptions made on both sides that they totally understood how scouts operate. We self clear plates, will serve ourselves to save waste and satisfy everyone with quantities. They tried so hard with diets, considering how many varied diets there were, celery, mustard, milk, onion, garlic plus vegan, gluten free, vegetarian and low carb diets. Personally, with one catastrophic disaster, I was fed tasty food, enough for my needs and I appreciate how difficult it was for everyone. To understand we all need breakfast is fine, but to provide a packed lunch to collect at the same time, and exactly what was expected, I suspect had not been fully explained. Well done everyone for the hard work you put in. Hand washing all the plates and cooking pans too must have made it even harder

We have just used ALS Group to provide the catering for 140 people at a karting event and they were excellent. Cheerful staff, tasty food and reasonably priced - I would recommend them to everyone. Will definitely use them again next year.

The team at ALS were amazing from start to finish. Having moved the date of our wedding, ALS were flexible and understanding during a difficult time for everybody. Leading up to the wedding, Tammy was in touch regularly to check details. On the day, the team arrived to set up in good time and I felt confident that our wedding reception was in safe hands. During the reception, Tammy regularly checked we were happy with the service (we were).
I highly recommend ALS for all events, but especially weddings. They took away so much stress by being in touch regularly, being flexible and providing an excellent service. Thank you, ALS.

ALS we’re absolutely fantastic start to finish. With a personalised wedding package of which nothing was too much, they made our wedding run so smoothly.
With two date changes due to Covid there was still not an issue!
I didn’t lift a finger on my wedding day, and for each even Tammy came to find myself or my now husband to make sure we missed nothing!
The guests have all commented on how lovely our food was, each area turn around was perfect, my venue looked beautiful and the rodeo unicorn was so fun!
Couldn’t have asked a better company to make our day so thank you so much guys!
