Visited engine shed on numerous occasions. It's a well rounded venue with wonderful staff. Drinks prices are reasonable for the type of events they offer and the selection is big enough. Their sound system is AMAZING and comparable to a bigger venue. Always good. Staff are friendly, chatty and pleasant. Entering and exiting the venue is also well planned and wait.times are minimal. Would highly recommend to anyone interested in seeing events here.

Located on the waterfront at the University. Visited for a srand up show. Had an old school feel about it with a bar. Still had the atmosphere of a theatre. Seating was makeshift and very close to the person next to you which looked very uncomfortable for the people in front. Toilets have a shared hand wash area which is fine but it did get a bit crowded. Drinks are priced as expected. Cloakroom available. Staff were very friendly.

Attended the craft fair today. £2.50 entrance and worth it as the stalls had some beautiful and original items! Spent too much. Will go again. Nice part of Lincoln with lovely scenic walks by the river nearby.

As a venue it's okay. One level seating as I've been to see a couple of comedians. Viewing can be tricky. Gets quite hot and stuffy. Nice location though so worth a trip for food before hand.

We came to see Sarah Millican here this evening and the only issue I had was the seating.... We were informed they had to seat 1,000 people for the show to be able to go ahead (Great show) but the seating was seriously squashed together, with not a lot of room to pass other people when getting to and from your allocated seat. Toilet areas were offering a "Blue hand roll" and not air driers which was weird in itself. Have a little more work to do on making guests comfy, but overall id come back.

Had an absolutely amazing night at the calling planet earth 80s gig. Brilliant idea to have extra bars next to the seating area. A truly unforgettable evening. I wish I could post the videos I took of the band. Absolutely fantastic made so much better by the intimate venue which was the perfect size to accommodate enough people to create an awesome atmosphere but not so big that you're too far from stage. Perfection.

Great show pleasent staff. Seating is a bit small - person the side of me needed 1½ seats and he didn't ask just took ½ of mine. Venues in the UK might need to start ordering those seats you have in USA venues. Loads of staff serving at the bar so ordering drinks didn't take very long. All in all and really good night out.

Great venue for bands and comedians. Bar at the end of the hall and reasonable sized stage. My band, 'blues boy kings'(.co.uk) have played there 5 times and the stage seems much more impressive when you're on it. Still, its a pleasant and safe experience with lots of security for the health checks and removing the odd idiot.

It's called The Engine Shed for a reason! If you visit to see a stand up comic then I recommend that you don't sit on the RHS next to the wall. If you do then you can listen to the railway engines passing by. The chairs were just bearable for the length of the performance & the drink prices required a 2nd mortgage.

Good venue, although we had seats near the back, we could see between people in front. Would use again, but would pick closer seats. Bar queue was ridiculous so be prepared to wait a long time, but when they let you in, there's a bar in the main room.

Small venue on ground floor for concerts, comedy nights etc. Been here quite a few times. Main issue inside is long queues at the bar and sometimes toilet depending on crowd size. Otherwise it's a reasonable venue... if you can get a ticket to see who you want to which can be very difficult to impossible.

Amazing atmosphere at the Engine Shed for a comedy gig. We saw Russell Kane in the front row and it was hilarious. Queues for drinks took a while and prices are very high, but expected. 4 stars due to not having enough room on the seats. They were so cramped together... the woman next to me had her arms and legs constantly squidged on me. Not a pleasant experience!

Loved a trip round the Engine Shed for Linc-Con (Comic Con), it's very different for an event rather than my fond memories of fresher's week! I would have given 5 stars but it was so damn hot inside that it was just uncomfortable, better air conditioning would have been desirable, but I wouldn't let it take away from the experience too much. Also the exit wasn't very well sign posted, it was more so signed for the smoking area, also having the exit and smoking area be the same doorway was very unpleasant for me as an ex smoker.

Service at the bar was absolutly horrendous. Over 1hour 20 at the bar, in turn missing majority of the event. Shocking service and soberest gig I have ever been to due to PPP from the organisers. Pull your finger out engine shed.

Always really good food at decent prices. Love the decor inside and there is seating outside for warmer weather. Music is always playing, and sports events are usually on tv. Chilled bar for meeting with friends or grabbing a quick bite to eat before a gig. Great venue for music events - Would have liked seating for one of the last gigs I went to, but made do with crouching on the floor. Love this place

Great to be back! Went to see Frank Skinner on Wednesday night. Was a bit nervous now restrictions have lifted. However, received notification from the venue that Covid Passports or negative test results were essential to gain entry and i then felt confident about going. Was weird at first being in a large, indoor venue with crowds of people but it soon felt back to normal - thank goodness! Well done Engine Shed on keeping everyone safe but still managing to get the shows back to Lincoln.

Very helpful staff, nice and clean, only reason I haven't given 5 stars is because when we got there we found out it was standing only unless you'd reserved a chair, which I was not told when I booked the tickets, It's just lucky I took my mobility scooter otherwise there would've been problems, but my 60+ guest wouldn't have been able to stand for 3 hours, so they really need to tell people with every booking.

I have attended many venues here, from drum n bass to professor Brian Cox. But due to lock down, I am impressed with the service, and the development of an app to order from. ( about the app it is a bit fiddly but once you sign up it’s ok) I like the strict track and trace policy. A well deserved 5stars.

A venue specifically for University Of Lincoln Students. Prices for food and drink are decent and service is relatively quick. They have a lot of big events on here and appear to provide enough seating to accommodate this good for a night out if your a UOL student. The staff are friendly enough and you have to scan student I.D to get in with most events.

Superb venue to visit and regularly host big names. I went to watch Rhod Gilbert on 5th is occasion. The venue holds maybe 2500 at a guess so the events are great and almost intimate which is brilliant for watching your favourite band/comedian! Lots of bar staff so drinks can be bought without too much hassle and prices are sensible. Toilets can get crowded at intervals etc. There is plenty of parking although there is a charge for it (around £4) and as it is near the center of the city there are public transport options. All in all, a recommended venue to watch some great acts.

Great venue. Visited for the second time for a comedy gig. Chairs used are incredibly uncomfortable (I was pregnant on my first visit and it was pretty horrendous). I know it's a student bar but they could up the drinks quality (I'd be happy to pay) as their soft drinks are awful.

Went here for the Black Parade event, with a friend and really did enjoy it a lot! The venue itself was well maintained and there was a lot of pre-planning evident as it had been raining beforehand and so there was a desk to look after coats for the night. There was parking nearby at a reasonable price and toilets were dotted about the venue. Not sure if a wheelchair could go up the stairs as I did not see a lift, however, I did certainly notice a wheelchair accessible toilet there.

Jo Whiley gig was brilliant, it's a good venue which was full but not uncomfortably so. The only problem was with he extremely slow bar service. It was 5 deep when we went and took over 15 mins to be served - partly due to being busy (should staff accordingly?) but also due to staff's inability to identify who needed serving next!

Came here for an interview with a different company, the place is open and airy with so many cool features such as outside seating and a spiral staircase. Situated near the university so popular but would still be successful from their menus, professional and friendly staff and atmosphere alone.

Went to see Jimmy Carr and the facilities were nice it's just a shame that noone was checking the toilets. Most of the cubicles were out of toilet roll and some didn't have toilet seats. Also when I went to wash my hands some taps didnt work and none of the hand dryers were on so instead they had given 1 roll of hand towel (which didnt last). So unfortunately for the simple reason of hygiene in the bathrooms I have rated the place down, all other facilities were really great.

Brilliant location easy to get to close to amenities and restaurants no onsite parking however plenty of town centre parking within ten minuite walk I have been harsh with the stars only giving four as I felt the drinks that can be only purchased in the venue are very expensive... 1 pint of lemonade post mix and a bottle of water 500 ml cost me £6.oo apart from that I would have said five star rating as everything else was spot on
