Good location near Lime St station. Views are good on the whole in the main venue as the stage is raised. Be warned though that the venue gets ridiculously hot and queues for a drink are always long. Toilets are located on the ground floor, so you've got three flights of stairs to ascend/descend for a comfort break. Exit stairwell is narrow, so it takes a while to get out after the gig has finished.

Excellent night watching OW supported by Aquillo. Was mixed incredibly well on their house system. For those curious, house system is Coda. Not sure on the box specifics but seems to be 6 a side plus about 7 dual 18s. Fills the room nicely, not too harsh with plenty of scope for a nice even sound. Impressed for a box I’ve not heard of!
S. P.
Wishbone Ash concert was great and the audio quality of the venue was too. I wish there was inclined floor so everyone could enjoy the gig because with a flat floor only the tall guys can.

Very pleasant venue. Friendly staff, good acoustics and did not feel suffocating even though the show was sold out. Drinks pricey but this is expected, so you just have to drink a bit more prior to the show :) easy.
A. T.
Haven't been to the 02 for a long time but was reminded what a great venue it is. The door staff are efficient and courteous, you don't feel like an inconvenience like at some venues. There's a cloak room (but at £4 per item not for the thrifty) and good site for a merch store downstairs.
The main room is however up two flights of steep stairs and not sure how accessible it would be for some. There's 3 bars in the main room so it's easy to get a drink. Prices are steep, £6+ for a pint but that's just the norm at a big venue these days. Sound is great at the side of the room or in the centre. Great venue all round.

Just been to see Roger Taylor.
Astounding musicianship.
Venue has a brilliant vibe.
I thought the audience was going to be gentile but an over excited gentleman was somewhat enthusiastic and my evening ended with a rather sad repetition of “I’m 56 but I could still have you. Outside now.”
Obviously I declined but this gentleman seemed insistent.
Gladly in the light of the street he seemed to wobble his bottom lip.
Nobody needs that kind of behaviour from such a stately gentleman.
It didn’t distract from a lovely evening.
He was 56.

Had an amazing experience. Saw Gong as a birthday present. The queue to get in was long but not arduous but we missed the opening introduction. So if going expect delays and go early. Small but really good sound. Especially at the back of the narrow hall like room. Bar was quick and efficient. Would certainly recommend.
K. T.
Great venue for gigs located very close to lime Street train station .
There are quite a few stairs to climb tho
m. m.
Saw Billy talent and it was absolutely amazing! Venue has a mountain of stairs to tackle initially but the gig space is large, although air con was failing us which caused a sweaty mess.
G. H.
Great smaller venue, very sweaty when full,
£6.35 for a can or pint of San Miguel is a rip off.Possibly the slowest bar in the world,
but still a great venue for music.
Organisation for heaven 17 wasn't great
C. H.
Been here for many gigs over the years. Always a great venue good atmosphere friendly staff. Would have been 5 stars but limited choice of spirits.
R. M.
Great venue, good sound. We were on the balcony for Pale Waves as my daughter isn't very tall. Venue staff amazing
F. W.
Great place for a show, enjoyed The Slow Readers Club
M. N. S.
I myself was very run down but my partner in crime Disco Dave the Rave had a blast!!!
p. b.
Lovely old style concert venue. Has a certain charm about it. Great service from the bars and cloakroom. Very enjoyable
P. B.
Great little venue with a really varied choice of acts on show throughout the year.
Just a 2 minute walk from Liverpool Lime Street Station with plenty of places to drink and eat locally.
A. M.
Great venue but the stairs are very steep leading to performance area & it was rediculously warm
A. M.
I would like to thank callum the medic at the damien dempsey gig on Thursday, he went above and beyond to make sure me and my husband were catered for both having disability issues, caring, understanding guy and jan who was also very friendly, thanks 😊
R. T.
Went to see Old Dominion on Saturday 3rd November, great little venue.
As expected the drinks cost more than outside, but not terrible. 2 pints were £8.
Cloakroom is £2.50 a garment.
Would recommend.
P. a.
Brilliant venue stairs are a bit much after a few beer's but overall a good place
M. W. (.
Good venue
Cloakroom available however it is £4 per item. So think creatively. 😏
I. C.
Another great mid-sized live music venue. Can get very busy and is up a steep flight of stairs for the main venue. Also has a mezzanine with a bar and decent view but this is two deep at most. Very, very good sound set up and quality on every visit I've made, probably the most consistent of any music venue I use. Lots of amenities nearby, including Liverpool Lime Street station and the eponymous Wetherspoons.
S. W.
Went seeing a band here The slowreaders club great venue but bare it in mind there are some very steep stairs going to where we went to see the gig.
A. S.
Amazing little venue, toilets a bit out the way mind.
S. J.
Top floor is a good size but could really do with better ventilation - don't worry though if you don't mind suffocating and developing hyperthermia.
C. B.
Excellent venue, Black Label Society (Zakk) rocked!
R. B.
No a cheap pint (but I don't think anyone would have expected that). I really enjoyed the Lancashire hotpots
A. H.
Saw the Sherlocks play here. A good venue although beer prices are a bit on the expensive side.
T. P.
Love it smaller intimate venue boss staff great attitude, keeping music live
J. S.
We were quickly and sensibly welcomed to the venue by the staff, checking tickets and other security stuff...
There are lots of steep steps to get up to the main venue (I assume a lift is available??).
We went upstairs for a short time but it was too hot for us.
We returned to the main floor and stood by the bar at the back (under the balcony). It was cooler there than it was in the packed main floor or upstairs.
The issue for me (6 foot 2 in) was that I could only see the guitars of those on stage! My wife (5 foot 3 in) could see more of the stage but was blocked slightly by the taller people!
Staff were visible throughout the concert.
It was very hot. I wore a T-shirt & Jeans and survived... although I was cold walking to & from the car! Our friends laughed at me outside in the queue but I was the one laughing as they paid £££ for the cloakroom!
T. B.
Unbelievable last night " let's zep " what a band I'm going there every time they are on value for money is not in it, keep on coming there please the singer with the blonde her was amazing so was the rest of the band.
G. G.
This is a perfect venue for a gig and is close to everything. The staff were great humoured and extremely helpful.
L. M.
Great venue, not been before but went to see PWEI and it was ace. Bit of a maze when i was leaving but that mightve been the beer...😅🤘🏻
R. R.
Just the perfect sized venue to feel part of the gig you've come to experience.
S. B.
Another great small music venue. Reasonable price for drinks.
V. M.
It's a bit dated as in the air con doesn't work. ..would not like to be in these concert halls on a hot day in summer. ..apart from that sound & lighting was average. ..very few places to sit or leaning posts. ..bar staff & door were great.
J. S.
Great night 80s music good crowd of people everyone seemed to have fun really into the swing of it, all different ages. Not a mega choice of drinks. Be careful of the stairs. Staff were great totally on the ball. Felt safe will be revisiting.
K. D.
We went to watch The Dunwells and Scouting For Girls there last night. It is a great venue where you feel you are never that far from the musicians. If you get there early go upstairs against the rail for the best view in the house. If you are driving there I would suggest booking your car parking at the Liner Hotel in advance as there isn't much parking around there and you could end up driving around looking for somewhere for ages. Staff are friendly and there are at least 3 bars in there with cloakroom facilities as well. Great venue.
C. W.
Smaller than I was expecting but definitely in a good way, actually a comparatively intimate venue, the sort of club where you can actually feel a sense of connection with the band. Was well run on the night and decent sound set up as well.
M. P.
Great place to see top bands in a more intimate setting than a stadium/arena.
A. K.
First outing with almost no restrictions. Full House but very well organised. Everyone's vaccination status or proof of negative covid test were checked. Didn't slow down the queue. All Bars open and fast service. It just got awfully hot in there but that was to be expected.
c. p.
Access was better previously, pushing through crowd to go for a slash not what you want.
A. M.
A great venue but the drinks prices are an absolute rip off!
P. G.
Great place for gigs drinks expensive though. Door & bar staff very pleasant.
D. D.
My daughter and friend went here to see the Wallows? They had a brilliant time, staff very helpful but did get quite hot in there.
i. p.
Shocking that there was no Guinness available when the main act was from Ireland proper preparation prevents p*£s poor performance
D. j.
Great small and intimate music venue.
Excellent door staff and bar staff that were very helpful.
First time here a couple of weeks ago watching the reytons, but will definitely return.
Small venue attracting big names.
I abhor huge venues and their overprinting of tickets , drinks and merchandise!!!
D. C.
One of the best nights out we've had for a long time. The tickets to the 80's night were a gift from my daughter and we initially thought it was at the O2 arena. We finally realised that the O2 Academy is a totally different venue (we don't get out much 🤦♂️) Once we actually found the correct venue entry was quick and the door staff were really pleasant. The venue is a large single room with a well laid out stage and 2 bars at the opposite end. The band were very good and the atmosphere was excellent with the majority of people really pleasant and out to have a good time. Security was ever present which was always reassuring . The best indicator for a good night is how quickly it flies by..... and this felt like we'd been in thre venue for about 10 minutes. All in all..... our first visit to the O2 Academy was a great success and we would happily go again.
L. A.
Nice intimate venue.... drinks are a bit expensed though
D. L.
Great spot for a gig. Better than most o2 academy's I have been to. Orange effing goblin baby.
N. E.
Bear's Den concert, throughly enjoyable, such a great band. But was so hot the walls were soaking wet and I nearly passed out, was glad to get out of there.
D. B.
Quite a good venue, not to big. Theres two bars, a balcony viewing point, Went to see Rival sons 25-1-17 great night, excellent music.
m. f.
Great venue for concert. A bit of a small old building but smaller size makes it Great as you aren't far from the stage no matter what part you are in.
g. h.
Great place for a gig, just the right size so you aren't too far away from the stage. Word of warning, have a drink before you go in, unless you want to pay£7 for a warm can of beer
G. S.
Steeply staired, expensive pinted, sweat box......if it hadn't been for the rip off beer prices the O2 would have got 5 stars
J.
Pretty good but poor drinks selection
T. B.
Awesome show by Nick Heyward. Good venue but drinks expensive!
A. K.
Seeing Frank tuner was insane but I have this problem every time its the heat air conditioning needs to be ramped up
D. S.
Great venue for the music. The bar though...! The staff serving nearest the stage were operating in slow motion. Large queue purely because of their hopelessly slow service.
N. K.
Really like it (80s themed night) but you need a small pot of gold to keep up with the extortionate bar prices!! And you dont even realise because you're paying via card and no one tells/shows you how much!
A. W.
Its a good music venue. Not far from Lime St train station. Beer pricy, but then you expect that at music gigs. We saw Fish. Fantastic sound and good views from the Mezzanine above. Bit crowded. But you could'nt get in unless you had proof of double and booster jab vaccination certificates. As it should be.
B. A. M.
Nice place vibe was great . Only problem is ventilation . It gets too hot when in full capacity.
H.
Nice venue but the stairs that lead up to the large hall I can imagine are a real hazard considering alcohol is served here. Other than that nice and loud venue. Proper music venue really
j. W.
Good venue. Beer a little pricey, but if the extra cost helps keep this a great venue then I am ok with that!
D. C.
Great gig venue (went to see Primal Scream) Prices as expected but atmosphere is fantastic for music
A. O.
Went to see Wet Leg, fantastic gig
M. W.
I'd never been to this venue before but I have to say it's a great little place to see a band.
G. C.
Smaller venue, but that gets you closer to the artists. We had an unforgettable night there. One downside was that getting a drink took far too long owing to pump and card reader problems.
J. R.
Great evening, absolutely faultless, friendly staff, no hassles, quick service at the bar and a brilliant set from The Psychedelic Furs! A memorable night.
A. W.
Good venue shocking prices on the beers total rip off.
I. R.
Best venue in Liverpool for watching a gig, but the police should be called regards to the price of drinks.
£25 for 4 cans of warm Carlsberg, I kid you not. It’s not just a rip off (which people would expect) it’s completely beyond anything comprehendable - SORT IT OUT!
D. A.
Very expensive £6.50 a pint come on peeps this is Liverpool NOT London
A. S.
Small intimate venue. They gave out free earplugs which was a massive plus. The drinks were a little on the spenny side but nothing outrageous.
I. Q.
Great small gig venue.
L. B.
At O2 for Sleaford Mods, as ever venue proves to be one of the best Liverpool has to offer.
Ingress and egress prove challenging, steep stairs going up to main room going in and obviously the same leaving but with the added problem of many, Many people all trying to leave via the same exit can be both wearying and worrying. Bar prices outrageous but probably in-line with venue prices the land over.
M. H.
Great little venue, only lacks a star for its poor choice of overpriced beers
R. P.
Just watched Orange Goblin tear the place apart. The venue size and style makes for a great intimate setting. Great place!
J. W. G.
Amazing time seeing Mabel! Lovely venue with a bar and IT HAS A CLOAKROOM which I wish i would have known before arriving!!
L. R.
Went to see The English Beat band performance was brilliant venue was good , parked at Liner hotel only 2 min walk , on downside poor choice of beer not well kept and expensive.
M. C.
There are often overzealous door staff at live music gigs but the door staff here were very friendly, which was a good start to the evening.
Drinks are very expensive and the choice isn't great, so I didn't bother. I enjoyed the gig although it got stuffy to the point where I was a bit uncomfortable at times, even though the venue wasn't full. Seating is at a premium unless you don't care about seeing the stage. This is an old-fashioned venue for better and for worse.
S. J.
Great gig location in middle of Liverpool. Gets very hot but acoustics are good
C. T.
Great place for gigs. Bit claustrophobic when it's busy though. Easy enough to get served at the bar. Loads of toilets too
T. S.
Great venue sound is good, if you end up under the balcony then the view of the stage is poor. The stairs can be a bit lethal after a good night. Staff very helpful. Smoking area outside is great.
S. C.
A good venue, particularly the smaller downstairs stage which is great for more intimate gigs. I've been visiting the venue since way before it was the Academy (Carling or O2!), and it still feels quite unchanged apart from upgrades to the PA. Helpful staff, and great access from Lime Street Station. Worth waiting around for ten minutes after a gig ends at the latter upstairs stage, as there may be quite a queue of people trying to get out down the narrow stairwell.
G. H.
Great Venue, smaller than expected, would recommend
P. F.
A great night at Academy 2 for Pinked Floyd on 4th Sept 2021. The audience was very welcoming and in fine voice. We really appreciate the hard working sound and light team as well as the bar staff!!!
M. F. T.
A big thank you to all the staff who helped make tonight a pleasure for The Gentle Scars to play support to Ruts DC and TV Smith
G. W.
A small but cool venue, could do with a better beer selection
A. B.
Decent venue for the able bodied.
Prices seem to be increasing rapidly though.....
R. P.
It's a big room, can't go far wrong. Sound was good as were the staff. Drinks inevitably limited and expensive.
P. D.
Really great 80's tribute show, great atmosphere, drinks served quickly, good access 👍
L. W.
Classic venue. Drinks are over priced, but, that is expected in this type of place.
A. S.
Spacey, lots of stairs though. Great workout.
J. T.
Went to see Enter Shikari this time and what a gig great venue and a phenomenal band
R. B.
Yes a brilliant night with my little sister, we saw the fantastic Heaven 17 who never let us down, great night all round.
K. D.
Brilliant night seeing The Smyth's. Very expensive drinks though.
J. R.
Great place really friendly staff.
J. S.
Service was good even though it was jam packed, great sound. Toilets are a mess though and not place to go if physically impaired
a. C.
Great location music venue right by Lime street station. Have seen some fabulous bands on here, but the venue itself is disappointing. Is standing room only mostly- great for dancing but is difficult to see stage . The floor slants the wrong way so you are slightly elevated nearer the front. Bar understaffed and very expensive for very limited range of drinks. Gets very hot so wear layers !
S. Z.
Not a bad venue.
Sound is spot on.
Lighting is pretty poor (all lit from back of stage so you mainly see silhouettes of the band members).
The room (when full) becomes WAY too hot to the point EVERYONE is dripping with sweat even in winter months...
Security are not ready for crowd suffers and often drop people.
H. H.
Great night Bon Jovi Tribute.
Had to show proof of Covid Vaccinations or negative covid test as you enter. We both had had cards with us. Didn't know this before we got our tickets, box office and website not clear about this.
B. H.
Great place to get up close .. great atmosphere. We was leaning against the wall. After been stood over 4 hrs at our age it was hard on the feet n legs lol . Toilets on the way in, so go before you climb the high steps . Bar has minimum choice . Would I go again YES . Enjoy 😊
S. W.
There wasn't any information on website stating you must have your covid vacation card before entry, both jabs, the gig it's self was fantastic, such a good band.
S. S.
Always great to see a live performance here
Nice all standing setting and great venue, I got really close up at the front and it was a great atmosphere !
Expensive drinks.. I guess that's to stop people getting drunk and spoiling it for everyone else.. so its understandable
M. R.
Decent venue friendly staff. Limited options re drinks and a sticky floor but don't let this put you off. The sound is good and the ventilation works which on a warm or busy night is essential.
J. H.
Great venue for a gig. Really intimate with good sound quality. Watched Alabama 3 here and it was an awesome night. If you're after a good gig in Liverpool then their is normally something worth watching on.
J. G.
Brill venue for a concert! Atmosphere electric for Peter hook(joy division/new order) fantastic night!
m. l.
Been to see Newton faulkner several times at this venue. Nice venue just sometimes you can have a crossover of sound from the gig area below.
M. W.
Great place for bands. Good atmosphere
J. M.
Decent venue but the noise isolation between rooms was not good. It's also not in an obvious part of the city, and seems run down from the outside. Drinks were incredibly expensive and the main room was not well treated for sound
S. B.
Simple set up, great venue for smaller, more intimate gigs. Band close to the audience, staff, including security are friendly, helpful and efficient.
Just needs a better cloakroom retrieval process to get 5 stars.
A little Liverpool gem.
L. H.
Good place to see bands, bar menu not up to much and quite expensive but as a venue it's great. Downstairs (academy 2) is initiate and the upstairs is slightly larger but still great to see bands. Really enjoy it as a venue
R. W.
Possibly the most inaccessible (two flights of very steep and slippery stairs) and humid (all those bodies crammed into a room with low ceilings, and little/no ventilation) venue I've ever been to; not the best sound either.
However, there's little that can upset the sensation of seeing your favourite band(s) live with a crowd of like-minded patrons.
#KeepMusicLive #SupportLocalMusicVenues #livemusic
P. C.
It's a lot smaller than I thought it would be but the concert was very good, we
all enjoyed it.
J. C.
Great venue , go on the balcony for the best view!
P. S.
Great venue..good atmosphere...
i. j.
Very good place for a gig
g. m.
Went here to see the twang ,staff all adhere to the new covid checks ,NHS passport or lateral flow test to get in .
Not bad beer selection & average prices for the venue
J. C.
Well well well, what a night me and my drillas had in that fine establishment, walahi great venue and even better acts, bit of a swratbox though I'd recommend shorts.(ahah shorts weather)
G. B.
Nice intimate venue, easy bar access and super friendly staff
D. W.
As a music venue the room size is perfect and there’s a couple of bars at the back to choose from. The stairs into the main room are an accident waiting to happen, they really need to have more ways to get out at the end of the gig.
S. C.
As per the majority of review, the stairs are incredibly steep and slippery very early on and the toilets are at the bottom, the bar and venue room are at the top. The price of the drinks are city prices but you are in the city so suck it up and dig deep.
M. S.
Great venue (if not hard on your feet when you reach a certain age)!
There are now a few bars and despite the place being full it wasn't too hot (as previously stated).
Drink prices are very expensive (£5 a pint) but check your 02 Priority app to get discounts.
D. M. H.
A strange one for me. I liked the layout inside as it was almost a small arena feeling, much different to the layout of Sheffield's O2. Extremely warm, not really any ventilation. Quite difficult to find for the first time, Bar was quite good, quick service and staff were friendly.
M. T.
(First floor) Little unorganised for entrance procedures but have to say a great little venue . Sound quality was fantastic although from a band point of view not the largest stage . Bar was well run and not massively inflated prices, the single sex bathrooms where very clean . I would consider this venue before manchester academy in future
G. W.
Great live music venue. No real disabled facilities but the staff will help use the the service lift. No seating available, but again staff will try to find you a chair from somewhere.
Many great times here!
l. i. t. b. g.
A watch the doors live and ye they were good
C. R.
Ok venue, beer was off though
C. W.
Great venue,enjoyed concert on 15th May.Clean toilets.
M. S.
Great venue, right by Lime St station, Liner Hotel and, Wetherspoons for breakfast ☺
P. t. P.
Pint at a gig is less than a fiver. Bottles of water are cheaper than a pint. Not saying it's cheap but a lot better than a lot of venues that will cost you over a tenner for 2 drinks.
Have seen bands in 2 of the rooms. The smaller one is a bit awkward with the raised half of the room and main bar mostly walled off from the stage.
The larger room is much better and has 2 bars, one at the back and one at the right rear. Has a good wide stage and an upper balcony area at the back.
P. K.
Brilliant Venue that has loads of different types of music on,The main room is at the top of the building the stairs can get steep towards the top,I think there is a lift(best checking),Brilliant atmosphere, the only downside is the price of drinks they are a rip off
p. h.
A great venue with friendly door staff and bar staff.Always a great crowd atmosphere too.
A. H.
Love this venue. Right up close with amazing bands and artist. Love the security as they are welcoming and really nice. Drinks over priced as most music venues.
H.
Acoustics were good. Place is very shabby and extremely hot, dont wear a winter jumper! Get your coat from the cloakroom before the end as the queue was huge, especially if you are in a hurry for the train.
1.
Bar prices way way too high, stopping people using O2 venues, stupid marketing policy, far more people Would attend with a reasonable bar tariff...🎸👍🍺👎
A. M.
Probably the best venue for live acts in Liverpool. Decent sized upstairs room for bigger bands and a more intimate space downstairs for smaller acts. Beer is super pricey so fill up in Wetherspoons before you go in and watch out for the stairs...they would put an Amsterdam townhouse to shame as they're steeeep. Good venue and a varied lineup of genres. More Prog Rock would be excellent though.
R. t.
Amazing night watching the doors alive
R. N. (. B.
Great night. Extremely helpful and friendly security. Great crowd. I’d highly recommend the venue. It was particularly good as I watched the Clone Roses so it drew an eclectic and interesting crowd. Top venue.
S. S.
Poor view and very expensive drinks
s. s.
Makes me feel nostalgic cos I miss revo Wednesdays so much, but fab location for our boy Dappy, also £2 jager bombs, sounddd
l. g.
Visited in early July during a very hot summer and it was unbearably hot. The venue is great and close to a decent car park. Two bars upstairs. Staff were great. Just too damn hot.
K. M.
Went to see the Fillers, they were great .
Venue is small which surprised me as the academy in Glasgow is a big boy.
Good atmosphere but £11.60 for 2 cans of San Miguel "what a piss take".
M. H.
Went to see a band, drinks were expensive which you come to expect at any theater/concert/event but didn't give out free tap water. The room was small but didn't feel cramped and it was a fun time
S. H.
There's real atmosphere in this old venue. Everyone is close to the band (especially when Mr Turner jumps into the audience!) unlike the sterile arenas. Great value.
R. B.
Excellent gig space. Really expensive beer. Over £10 for a can of San Miguel and Carlsberg Export. Definitely going for a drink in the Wetherspoons in Lime Street rather than here next time.
P. M.
Great venue, the main room has a balcony which is sound to watch the act from if you get there early otherwise pick a spot along the wall and enjoy the ride.
P. D.
Brilliant venue, the sound was excellent easy to find and access
M. E.
Not the best venue really. Hangar 34 is much better for atmosphere and bar prices!!!! Sherlocks were ok but need to get that new album out FAST. Overall I think a more intimate venue is best.
B. P.
Good venue.
Watch the steps from bar to stage....
Slippery when wet!!! Beware.
P. H.
Not much aircon so when going to concerts it gets way too sweaty and there aren't many windows either. But there is quite a bit of space and it's got good sound.
L. F.
Excellent venue. Great sound and atmosphere. Friendly staff from door to bar. Good location. Reasonable price parking round the corner at The Liner
A. P.
Drink prices are a bit steep but decent venue
R. M.
It's all about the band really. But small venue - so you can see the band!
E.
As an on going gig fanatic, I was extremely impressed with this awesome gig set up, the room was just perfect, not too big and not too small, and i could feel a connection. I will be going back. I can't really comment on facility's as i went to the toilet before i came (har har) but overall love this rockin' cool place. rock on guys!!!!!!!!
K. S.
Lovely venue with a decent sound system. Drinks were a little on the pricey side, but staff were friendly and chatty, and the crowd were also great too.
C. W.
They absolutely accommodate the disabled. Apply for membership so you can have your carer go for free and so they know when you are attending. The only thing I wish is that they had more of the popular acts that you see in the Manchester o2 clubs.
V. L.
A decent enough venue, top floor holds around 500. Price wise it's currently around £5 a pint - Carlsberg and San Miguel on tap.
L. H.
Great venue, lovely serving staff as well as support for brother's band! All in all a great night, however toilets could do with being checked more regularly
R. G.
Saw Gary Numan 24 March 2017.
Hot, steamy, ram-packed.
Some people wouldnt have liked it, I but I thought it was a great atmosphere at the front and the sound was good for me.
Confusion when queuing up because of idiotic instructions from a doorman led to some early queuers losing their places but most around me seemed to reorganise themselves eventually.
There are some stairs inside to climb.
Very slow to empty the venue afterwards.
J. C.
Plenty of space, lager expensive
J. G.
Just came from a Black Stone Cherry (ft Kris Baras Band) gig and was an amazing show and great venue!!
S.
We saw The Dead South here, great little venue the balcony is a great spot to get a good view and let's you lean on the railing to take a bit of weight off your feet.
M. M.
Great sound. Questionable view from some areas, even if your tall. Very hot everywhere inside, some form of AC even just by the bars would make it so much better.
J. C.
Great night went to see Alive they were absolutely brilliant 👏
D. P.
Brilliant intimate venue.close proximity to bands make this an ideal place to enjoy your favourite artists. Both Tyler Bryant & the Shakedown & Airbourne were Amazing.Wot an experience.highly recommended.
D. B.
Watched Lauren hibberd. Was great
J. H.
Loved this venue depends on the music to make the night..staff friendly, alcohol £5 pint will say I don't drink beer 3 pints later no effect??
X. E.
Small venue big sound
S. D.
Only has a 1200 people capacity but you get a good view of the stage from where ever you stand and there are plenty of bars if you fancy a drink.
d. p.
Great little venue, Hothouse Flowers were fantastic.
s. j.
Great venue small and the floor gets very wet and slippy drinks a bit pricey but over all seen some good gigs there shame stranglers won't be coming back there again 😕
j. s.
Great venue in the academy 2 room and great staff. Accessibility wise it provides a lift to the floor and disabled toilet access, but no way of getting to stage easily for anyone in a wheelchair.
B. 2. B.
Great night watching the Antarctic monkeys, was like a sweat box and need more staff on the bars as queues were long.
P. H.
Great for small gig's. Black paint on the walls with sweat running down, a proper old school venue. And the Macc Lads were excellent.
M. L.
First time coming here. Had a great night. Easy to get to. If you struggle with stairs then I wouldn't recommend it, there are alot of steps to go up before getting to the main stage.
S. S.
Bears Den were truly awesome. Some rather ignorant locals nearly spoiled the overall experience. But the quality of the music made it a memorable trip.
J. L.
can I just say a big thank you to John the box office manager who is the most professional person I have encountered in the business ! i went to see Elvana tonight with my friend who is wheelchair bound and I cannot fault the venue ! extremely professional staff who looked after us ! it was a first but not the last
thsnks John!
N. G.
Blondie drummer clem burke and bootleg blondie gig. another great gig in a great smaller venue. I did see original Blondie few years back (excellent) so it was good to have clem back & this tribute band in Liverpool.
S. H.
Sound was the best I have heard in an 02. The drinks were hideously expensive £9.80 for two cans of cider. We only had one each!
N. C.
Decent venue but expensive if you want to drink while watching a gig
R. W.
Great atmosphere the doorman are brilliant and friendly drinks are far too expensive like £5 for a pint of beer in a plastic vessel and £5 for a pint of coke also served in a thin plastic glass great bands great live music and amazing bands local and internationa it's about £5-£6 on the door
J. P.
The gig was good I was seeing miles kane but the price was a little expensive
m.
Loved it, been to a few gigs in here over the years, usually all good. The drinks are town prices and no doubles bar.
J. R.
Lovely venue, but loads of steps.
D. T.
Not a bad venue but getting served total nightmare
J. H.
Great venue with a good selection of acts that play here. Standard policy on not being you own drinks inside. Just a shame that their drinks are so expensive.
N. T.
We saw The Stranglers here. Fab gig at a fab venue. The stairs are steep so make sure you can handle your alcohol!
D. W.
Beers are a tad pricey! Some good bands play here though. A venue to be treasured, not enough places like this anymore
P. B.
Easy to get on and out...great view of the band. Decent sound
J. A.
Out of all of the o2 venues I have been to this has been the best one, it was organised, the sound set up was really good and the staff were great. I will be definitely be going there again.
P. E.
Attend this venue last night , wasn't expecting much but was surprisingly blown away the staff where excellent, the band was excellent, the atmosphere was was amazing, only down side where the steps leading into the venue, they where very steep and also very slippery on the way out, I also think a less able body person migth struggle in this venue, but for me personally one off the best I have ever been too.
L. F.
Wish they would sort a better disabled area out was sick of six foot tall ppl in way and u only get a bit of it to see cos ppl and stage lights in way but saw gary numan fab night
J. H.
Brilliant music venue. Handy for Liverpool Lime Street.
P. F.
Great venue with fantastic atmosphere.
S. M.
Good concert but to hot I'm their would put me off going in future I was sick when I got outside due to the heat. I appreciate it was a hot day but have been in there in december and it's been stupidly hot
B. L.
Great venue, the best band 'Alabama 3"
c. f.
Great location for parking.
T. L.
Great venue in Liverpool, always a good show. Next to car park, pubs, and train station.
R. K.
Fab night watching the Maximum Who. They played all the hits. Venue good but bit pricey at the bar. Pint of San Miguel and a can of San Miguel was £10:60!!
R. W.
Hayseed Dixie rocked this place. Brilliant gig and you can get right up close to the stage. Loved it. Going down there for some Stranglers tickets later.
T. J.
Was a great night with Anthony Russell
But the venue was so hot.
Not sure if I would go there again though..5 stars are for Anthony not the venue.
J. M.
Venue is great but do you really have to charge so much for a beer.
C. B.
Good venue.. shame about one of the box office staff. He was rather rude and told us off for wanting to pick up the tickets a couple of days before.
M. A.
Excellent venue for live bands but as expected with these places expensive alcohol, how am I supposed to enjoy my ale in life
D. T.
Saw Cast here, excellent gig. Bar was hectic.
S. H.
Great cosy venue. Really close to the performers. Dated facilities, but really, your going there to see the band.
T. B.
Great venue but my god, get a mortgage first if you wanna have more than one drink here
R. L. (.
Great venue, lovely staff.
Has lots of stairs going up to the actual stage area and is very very hot inside.
F. H.
Excellent venue for live music because even if you were at the back of the room you'd still get an excellent view of the stage.
L. S.
Great venue once you are inside...lots of stairs for the main concert hall. Friendly staff and great accoustics.
B. 1.
Love the small intimate venue feel. Been here many times. Reasonable ticket prices.
J. S.
went to see the charlatans in 2015/2016, the place was quite small and extremely hot, ive been to similar venues but ive never experienced heat quite like this, overall the places was average in my opinion but a experience never the less.
I. V.
Great music venue, haven't been for a number of years, and was as good as I remember. Recommended.
S. I.
Small venue, very warm and hardly any air circulation. Good atmosphere, drinks pricy.
S. S.
Best place for a gig. Proper old school venue. But £6 for a can of beer is outrageous.
S. B.
Great venue! Fantastic for getting close to the artists. Can't wait to visit again!
P. K.
Decent venue to hear up and coming bands but crowd management on exit from the venue was poor. Only one exit down a flight of stairs was opened for crowd to leave.
H. M.
Fantastic venue for bands, but if there are too many people it can become hot!
J. T.
It was a nice venue but I think standing up didn't do me any good
A. K.
Had a great night seeing the twang
All the 02 staff were very friendly and helpful
N. W.
Great night out
M. E.
Great venue . Plenty of nearby parking. Well organised.
C. C.
Good sized place for gig thats not to big, lost a star for having a million stairs to get in, hard work if you've had a drink or 10, expensive bar!
B. M.
Ace music venue. Good sound, run really well. £4.50 a pint though..best get em in before you get in
L. S.
Great events!! Drinks prices are extremely expensive tho
a. g.
Good small venue. Great for getting close to your band/ performer. In my case, Miles Kennedy
A. K.
Perfect gig venue, just make sure you have a drink before you go, too pricey.
P. M.
Small venue but the experience watching on of the greatest bands made it all the better.
A. T.
A big room, a smaller room and, as with most music venues, an over-priced bar. Decent sound rig - worth seeing bands here.
A. L.
Nice sized venue watched Rodrigo and Gabriella standing only.good quality sound.staffpleasant
P. W.
Great venue for big and smaller acts. I've been here countless times over the years
b. b.
Nice venue, way too many stairs to get to the VIP area, and what's up with not having a toilet upstairs.
J. B.
Decent place for music, just remember to take a lot of money if you want a drink, £5.40 for a pint of San Miguel
W. P.
Great venue but toilets on top floor would be useful. (So many steep stairs)
S. 2.

Nice location - being close to Lime Street and Central ensures that there isn't a mad dash for the last train home if the gig overruns.
A. F.
Great bands on, good bar service.
S. G.
Intimate venue, average bar selection. Spoiled slightly by the noise from the other room downstairs.
I. R.
Great venue, just the right size for a more intimate gig.
