I really enjoyed sushi making class with Atsuko. She is very knowledgeable and explains everything step by step. We’ve made our own maki, inside out roll, temaki and nigiri. It was great fun and I would definitely recommend this to everyone who is interested in sushi. Location is fantastic too, very bright and sunny kitchen

Atsuko is really nice, thoughtful and knowledgeable! She explained everything clearly. I joined the sushi making class, in which she demonstrated how to filet salmon and tuna, as well as preparing sushi rice, which are the parts I am most eager to learn about. I learnt so much even though I already have rich experience in eating japanese food. Her studio is lovely and comfortable too. She also shared a grocery list which is very useful to me since I don't know where to look for trustworthy Japanese stores in UK. definitely recommend it.

I received a Sushi making class at Atsuko’s as a birthday present and can genuinely say it has been the best birthday present I received in a long time. Atsuko was not only a phenomenal sushi chef, but also an excellent, caring and funny instructor. We got to make our own beautiful sushi with the best ingredients atsuko provided, and got to enjoy it with her and some sake after the class. I have had a lot of good sushi and with the help of Atsuko, some of the best I made with my own hands! I will definitely be back to try some other classes! It is phenomenal value for all the food and coaching you get. Thank you Atsuko, see you soon!

I loved it!! I signed up for the bento box 🍱 class while on vacation as something different to do. I don’t cook often since I am busy with school and are also not that good at cooking but the class was easy to follow and was very enjoyable! I will definitely be signing up again when I am back in London. 10/10 would recommend!

I have taken two amazing cooking classes with Atsuko - bento and kyushu cuisine. I was previously intimidated by Japanese cooking, but now I find it so easy. The teaching staff was so informative, kind, and efficient. The other students in the class were also easy to socialize with. I will go back if they if they offer types of cooking classes. I also bought her cookbook and love it.

Myself and my friend signed up for the protein rich tofu cooking class and it was amazing! Atsuko is so nice and welcoming and the other six people in the class were really nice too. It was very hands on and I went away knowing so much more from the things we were taught there and was confident enough with tofu now that I have already made some of the recipes at home. Thank you Atsuko! 😊

I received a voucher for a class at Atsuko's Kitchen, and it was brilliant! The class was carefully Covid-proofed, and the atmosphere was relaxed, friendly and engaging. The chef is fantastic - informative, funny and encouraging, with a wealth of useful tips. I was the only vegetarian at the sushi-making class, and Atsuko went out of her way to make sure that I had my own substitutes for the fish the others were using. I was already enthusiastic about Japanese cookery, and had made my own (amateurish) attempts at sushi rolls at home. This class gave me a much better idea what I'd been doing wrong, and introduced me to new kinds of sushi to try. Thoroughly recommended, whether you've tried Japanese cookery before or not. It was so much fun we were all really surprised to find that three hours had passed...

I recently did the bento box class with Atsuko and absolutely loved it - highly recommend! Atsuko herself is very personable. She not only showed us how to cook several recipes for our bento box but she explained why each ingredient was being used, so provided a lot of context and logic behind Japanese cuisine. Every single dish we cooked was absolutely delicious!

My partner and I enjoyable a warm, lovely, fun, educational sushi class with Atsuko. The space was COVID friendly and we felt safe and well looked after. The sushi was to die for and we appreciated all of the tips! I’d recommend this class to anyone wanting to perfect their rice cooking and rolling techniques as we definitely benefitted. Thanks again to Atsuko for a memorable experience, we hope to join you again for another type of cooking class.

Myself and my friend had the most amazing experience at Atsuko's Sushi class on Saturday.
It was a small class of 7, Atsuko did demonstrations and answered all our questions, before we rolled our own Sushi!
She created a really friendly environment within the class and explained everything very clearly.
The sushi was delicious and I learned a lot!
100% worth booking the class, great value for money and I had a lot of fun :)
S. A.
We did a team bonding event at Atsuko's kitchen and it was such a fun experience! Atsuko and her team are very friendly and accommodating, and the sushi was delish!

Had a great time cooking Kyushu specilities! Atsuko is a great cook and most importantly teacher. Highly recommend!
P. M.
Atsuko's cooking classes are engaging, well-organised, intimate, and hands-on. It's a testament to Atsuko that many of the students in our class had attended 2 or 3 of her prior classes and had come back for more.
We attended the Kyushu regional cuisine class, which introduced us to delicious and unique dishes that you'd struggle to find in the best Japanese restaurants in London. Ever wanted to learn to make a dish that was commissioned by the 6th Hosokawa feudal lord of Kumamoto? Atsuko has got you covered!
At the end of the evening, we were rewarded with a satisfying (and filling) meal comprised of all the dishes we had cooked.
Highly recommend Atsuko's Kitchen . 10/10.

I had an amazing time at Atsuko's Creative Vegetarian Sushi class yesterday. She was extremely informative and I loved to learn about the types of sauces and seasonings most authentically found in Japan. I also had a lot of hands-on learning, which was amazing to get involved in. It was well worth the price and I am looking to book a different class with her because I had so much fun. What was especially great is that I felt completely capable of recreating what I learned in the class at home (Atsuko provides recipe cards, too!) It was, overall, an amazing experience. Thank you, Atsuko-san!

Took part in the sushi making course and loved it so much. Atsuko was very friendly and made us feel very welcome. She explained everything really well and gave lots of advice on food, culture and etiquette. The sushi itself was a lot of fun to make and really delicious, washed down with some excellent sake. Thank you Atsuko!
P. J.
Atsuko was a great teacher, and the set-up was great. We took the bento class, where we learnt how to make egg rolls, pickled radish, marinated salmon and some vegetable dishes. Would definitely recommend it!

My partner and I absolutely loved our sushi making class. We were able to make everything vegan, Atsuko was so friendly, helpful and flexible, and the food was incredible. It is fast-paced to fit in so much incredible content, so I would suggest being organised and looking at Atsuko's instructions prior to the class to make sure you do the prep she suggests.

Atsuko's online sushi class was a lovely way to spend a morning - it was both fun and informative. There were really clear instructions on what to prepare before the class and during the class, and I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to follow along the practical steps over video call. I picked up lots of new tips from the class - including on how to cook perfect sushi rice (simply!), which bits of the salmon to use, which 'way up' to eat sushi - as well as learning some interesting things about Japanese cuisine/culture and having time to ask questions. What's more, my sushi turned out looking respectable and tasting delicious :)

I was lucky enough to get a place on Atsuko's regional Kyushu cooking class - and it was wonderful. Atsuko is an inspiring teacher whose calm expertise combines with her humour and passion to create an evening full of delights. I learnt how to cook some very special dishes in the company of some very interesting people. Thanks, Atsuko!

Fabulous online private Gyoza class:
I booked a private online Gyoza cookery class with Atsuko for my wife's birthday.
It was exactly what I'd hoped for, and more (!) The cooking lesson, and resulting gyoza, were wonderful - Atsuko had three different camera angles that made it so easy to follow what she was doing and telling us, and even the somewhat poorly created gyoza that I tried to put together at the end tasted amazing!
(We had the left-over fillings for our lunch today, made into little meatballs, and they tasted delicious too :)
But what made it really special was Atsuko herself. Her warmth, professionalism, kindness, patience and how much she shared with us made it feel so personal and lovely.
We will definitely join an in person class in her kitchen once that becomes feasible, and we can't recommend her highly enough!
S. I.
Attended Atsuko's on-line sushi making lesson. As I expected the lesson was great and I've learned a lot. Good explanation of the sushi making technique, a lot of interesting tips. Highly recommend to anyone interested in sushi making. Looking forward to the time when I can go to Atsuko's class in London.

The teaching we received on the sushi making course was a perfect balance of hands-on practice and instruction. She provided excellent ingredients and we got the opportunity to learn how to make every part – from the rice, to cutting the fish to rolling. Thanks!
J. J.
Had a great time at Atsuko's Kitchen on the vegetarian sushi course! Learnt lots about traditional sushi making techniques and the atmosphere was always very relaxing and friendly. Session was designed to be very accessible, everyone ended up with an amazing spread of sushi that tasted great. Recipes were all available on handouts, along with information about where best to find the ingredients, so will enjoy trying the cooking at home!

I attended Atsuko's Sushi making course last weekend with my husband and had a really interesting, informative and fun time. Atsuko is a natural teacher and took us through the basics of sushi making, with instruction on how to cook perfect rice, which fillings work well and how to do the all-important rolling! We also learnt how to make a pancake roll which was surprisingly delicious.
We would thoroughly recommend this course to anyone who has an interest in learning how to start to make sushi. We were so impressed, we bought Atsuko's book!
M. F.
I was given the online sushi making class as a birthday present and I really enjoyed it. Atsuko packed the time full of lots of interesting recipes and techniques and in the space of a few hours we prepared maki, nigiri, sashimi, wraps and California rolls. There were a few moments when I thought it wouldn’t come together, but somehow it did! And it was delicious too. Atksuko sends detailed lists of what you need to buy beforehand and what you need to prepare. Don’t forget to prepare the rice before! And we love her recipe book too.

Absolutely fantastic course!
I took part in the protein rich tofu cooking course (November 2016); this was my first cooking course ever so I wasn't sure what to expect but Atsuko's style of teaching was very warm and welcoming.
Atsuko's passion for food and cooking traditional dishes was apparent through everything she did and taught.
Whilst I am a non vegetarian, I've always wanted to learn how to cook tofu as I have many vegetarian friends and am always keen on finding healthy alternatives and this class did not disappoint.
Overall, book yourself on any of the classes, you will not be disappointed. I will definitely be back for another course :-)
E. B.
Atsuko was totally charming!! Me and my boyfriend had such a great time in the class, she was kind, patient and funny and has a contagious enthusiasm for food !!! Thanks so much
A. K.
I really enjoyed Atsuko's three-hour Vegetarian Sushi cooking course! She managed to cover quite a lot in this time frame, and the sushi ideas were very creative and absolutely delicious. The location is lovely - just above the flower market in a beautiful space. I can't wait to try the receipts at home!
J. R.
My husband and I had a brilliant time at Atsuko's sushi making course! We learnt so much - the course was very interactive and we made our own delicious maki rolls, tamagoyaki and hand rolls. Atsuko was so lovely and an excellent teacher - we would definitely recommend the course to anyone with an interest in Japanese cookery/love of sushi.
N. F.
We had such a fun class making vegetarian sushi at Atsuko's Kitchen! Atsuko herself is a great teacher who showed that there are more than a couple of ways to make veggie sushi worthwhile and delicious. We all came out with easily implementable skills and a handful of great recipes. Highly recommend.
S. L.
Atsuko's classes were absolutely fantastic! I cannot recommend them enough! I learnt so much about making all sorts of Japanese food and as a beginner, I felt totally welcomed by Atsuko and the fellow class members. I was so surprised at how much we learnt in such a short space of time and the quality of the food we made was unbelievable (and mouthwateringly delicious!) It was an absolute pleasure to meet Atsuko and to be cooking with her, and I cannot wait to come back and join some more classes of hers!
C. H.
I thoroughly enjoyed Atsuko's class! Atsuko was incredibly friendly and engaging. She made her class so much fun and at the same time taught Japanese culinary traditions and cooking technique in an approachable and easy-to-remember way. All the ingredients could be easily bought so students could practise and enjoy the dishes at home. I look forward to attending Atsuko's other classes soon!

I highly recommend the beginners course! During 5 weeks you get to learn all the basics of traditional Japanese cooking plus very clever tricks Atsuko shares along the classes. It's not been just about the cooking but also to better understand table manners, the origin of the dishes, where to find the products and how to treat them with respect and appreciation. Atsuko is very passionate and inspiring and she's always happy to exchange great recommendations. The atmosphere is very relax and friendly, which makes you look forward the next class during the entire week. I'll definitely go back for more courses in the future!

I attended Atsuko's course earlier this year. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The class was small enough so you feel like you are getting detailed instructions at a personal level but also big enough so it creates a fun & interesting evening for all. The timings also worked well for me as I didn't feel like I had to rush after work to get there in time. The takeaway folder with all the recipe's and methods were also very useful. I would definitely recommend Atsuko for anyone who is after a fun & informative way to learn about all the ingredients and styles commonly used for Japanese cooking.

I had the most wonderful time at Atsuko's class last Friday. It's my first cooking workshop and so I didn't know what to expect. I learnt so much about Japan and the cooking. Atsuko is full of warmth and energy and puts so much care and attention into her cooking, it was a pleasure to spend a few hours in her company, learning the craft. Of course the best part was eating our delicious creations at the end!
A. M.
Excellent Sushi Made Simple Class! Atsuko is an incredible host and her cooking skills are amazing! We learned the techniques of sushi making, learned about how to cut the fish and other extraordinary tips. Atsuko kept us engaged and made the class incredibly interesting! Wonderful time, I'm looking forward to try one of her other classes!

I've attended creative vegetarian sushi making class at Atsuko's kitchen a couple of days ago and I really enjoyed it.
The ambience of the class is very cosy and you feel like you were cooking at home with friends. Atsuko gives everyone a task so you can really understand the recipes because you are preparing them. At the end we sat together and ate all the sushi we prepared and, again, it was a bit like you were having dinner with your friends. Of course everything was delicious!
If you want to learn more about Japanese cooking and Japanese food I strongly recommend Atsuko's classes. And, least but not last, the prices are really affordable.
I can't wait to attend another class!
I. S.
Atsuko's cooking classes are great! She is an inspiring, clear and interesting teacher - I will definitely join again. Thank you, Atsuko, for this amazing experience!

I took the Creative Vegetarian Sushi Making Class and it was great. The venue is a lovely, characterful little kitchen and the class is taught by Atsuko. Atsuko is from Kyushu, Japan and she speaks excellent English and is a great teacher. The food was all delicious and sitting down to eat our day’s work was a great end to the class. I had a really good time and will certainly go back to one of the other classes.
L. N.
I've attended 2 of Atsuko's cooking classes. 1st was the beginner japanese cooking and then the Kyushu regional cooking. Both of the classes use easy and simple recipes, but the food turns out to be extremely delicious. You don't need to bring anything as everything is provided. I've really enjoyed the classes and would highly recommend to anyone who is interested in Japanese cuisine

Recently took part in Atsuko's five week beginners course in Japanese cooking and had a great time.
We learnt many of the basics of Japanese cooking, how to cook some great dishes, and were introduced to many new tastes and flavours.
Atsuko was very friendly and welcoming, carefully guiding us through how to prepare the food, and was always willing to share her extensive knowledge and experience.
She also gave us some very helpful advice on where to buy Japanese ingredients and cooking equipment so we can make the dishes at home.
Overall, a great experience, and the food was amazing!
C. D.
Our half day creative vegetarian sushi making class was both super enjoyable and different. Atsuko made it easy and fun to learn and participate. We tried our hand at 5 different types of roll, trying some with additional ingredient variations. A great gift to each other, we were able to work together yet still assemble our own perfect plate. Atsuko is a great teacher, we loved it!
S. A.
Fantastic cooking class! Atsuko is so friendly and knowledgeable - and the food you'll cook is AMAZING.
You'll come away with great recipes and the confidence to cook them (they're really simple and delicious).
If you love Japanese food, try one of Atsuko's classes or courses. She's really flexible and caters to vegetarians too.

My partner and I did the 5 week course for beginners Japanese home cooking. It was excellent, we learned a lot and it was really motivating to try the recipes at home. Atsuko is great and very patient. The premises are slightly small but it is well organised enough that we all get to work on something.
I highly recommend!

I have attended my first Japanese cooking class this week "beginner Japanese cookery course" with Atsuko and had a great experience. It was brilliant, the class was very entertaining, I learned a lot about the Japanese art of cooking, the basic techniques, and Atsuko is an excellent teacher / role model.
She teaches with expertise and still maintain a relax and friendly atmosphere in the class. It' s a good combination with hands on and demonstration. I just had a great time ! I look forward attending the next one. Thank you Atsuko ☺️
A. A.
Had so much fun in Atsuko's sushi class. Atsuko made special arrangements for my dietary requirements so that I was able to do this class with my partner. Really nice size group and Atsuko's teaching style is very relaxed and friendly. I would definitely recommend!
A. S.
An excellent class - hands on, enjoyable, engaging and informative. I attended the Okomiyaki class but now planning to do more. Atsuko does not only guide you through the process of cooking step by step, so you can replicate it easily at home (I did with success) but also explains what ingredients to use, where to find them or how to replace. She also shares stories about the dishes and culture so it's a little journey through Japan in the centre of London. The group was perfect size too making it easy to socialize and work together.
A. L.
We did a private sushi making class with Atsuko and it was so much fun! I've always made my own sushi but the tips and techniques Atsuko showed us has taken my skills to a whole new level. Atsuko is a great teacher, very patient and she explained everything clearly. I highly recommend getting a few friends together and booking a private class with her. You can relax, take your time and enjoy a glass of wine (or sake) while you cook, then sit down to enjoy a delicious japanese meal that you made together.
S. R.
We recently had a company event with Atsuko's kitchen (there were around 23 of us) and I can honestly say we just had the best time. The staff were the most lovely, friendly people to work with and were so enthusiastic. I have had so many people at work say what a great time they had and that they will definitely be trying to make the sushi again at home! Not only did we have a fab time there but Atsuko also took the time after the event to send me the recipes and any information people had asked for! Such a great day, hosted by lovely lovely people - thank you Atsuko's Kitchen!!!!
K. F.
I attended Atsuko's 5 week cooking course which was truly excellent. I learnt so many dishes, discovered so many new flavours and I had a lot of fun in the process too!
Atsuko is a really friendly and approachable tutor who really cares about what she does. She explained things well and in detail, also adding anecdotes about the origin of a dish and about Japanese culture. We always had many opportunities to practice cooking since we worked in small groups of 6 and any questions we had were answered. Since then I've been able to make some really tasty dishes at home. I am so pleased I joined this course and I would recommend it to anyone. Thank you Atsuko!
V. S.
Atsuko is the best host for a cosy, home-cooking style Japanese cooking class. The vegetarian menu was even vegan and the various tofu dishes were very fun to make and super delicious to eat in the end. I thought the tofu making class is a particularly useful one, as it's pretty had to make it well if you don't know the necessary preparations and who knew you could do so many things with tofu?! There are 6 people in a class, so didn't feel too busy and Atsuko was very good at giving individuals attention as well as making sure we made all the dishes properly and served them in a beautiful way. I would definitely recommend her class and will try to go on her veggie sushi making class some time soon as well. :)
J. H.
Atsuko was referred by my friend who ranks Atsuko's cooking highly. My friend's husband enjoyed her japanese home dishes. After trying Atsuko's japanese beginner class, I learnt a lot more tricks even though I already have a home collection of japanese recipes and learnt certain dishes by myself. Atsuko is also very considerate and attentive to everyone's questions and needs. She made class entertaining. Hope there will be advanced or more specialty classes! Keep it up.
L. S.
I had such a great time at the Atsuko's kitchen, making gourmet vegetarian sushi. Atsuko has a fabulous learning style, she is extremely approachable, has amazing knowledge and she is fun. I have already checked other courses on her website - as I want to do them all! Sushi was so delicious that I have again done it at home the next day for lunch. Thank you Atsuko xx!
a.
We had an amazing time at the cooking class from an excellent teacher in Atsuko. The class was very small and intimate and the food was excellent. I would highly recommend the class to anyone who would like to learn how to cook Japanese food.
G. R.
I would highly recommend to attend one of Atsuko's class! You can learn easily how to cook great Japanese food with a really friendly environment. I really liked the special stories what she's shared with us, so I could feel some connection with Japanese culture/history too.
We will definitely go back to learn and EAT Japanese food!
J. T.
Atsuko's cooking class was one of the best I've ever been to. The class was a great size and was really interesting and fun. Atsuko makes a real effort to get everyone involved in the cooking and was happy to create separate dishes for us as vegetarians. The okonomiyaki was absolutely delicious and is definitely something I'll be cooking again. I learnt lots about okonomiyaki and Japanese cooking in general. I would highly recommend!
A. P.
Took the Sushi making class and it was great! Atsuko explains things well and we got hands on practice, explanations of the ingredients and tools, and lots of delicious sushi at the end! Highly recommended!
T. M.
I can not recommend Atsuko and her kitchen highly enough. She has crafted each of the lessons meticulously and her attention to detail and love for cookery shows through so clearly in the preparation, the content and the taste of everything she teaches. Her teaching style is inclusive and ensures everyone has the opportunity to try different techniques; the recipes are challenging yet achievable for Beginners both whilst in her kitchen but also at home. Atsuko’s kindness and knowledge of the ingredients and culture of Japanese cooking meant that taking her Beginner’s Course was the highlight of my week every week. Doumo arigatou gozaimasu Atsuko!
S. W.
I loved the sushi making class. I was given this as a birthday gift. Atsuko's was a great teacher. I was nervous before hand as I'm not a confident cook but that was fine, the class is good for everyone beginner or more experienced cook.
A. E.
Atsuko is a great teacher. With attention to the smallest details, she will take you through the rich world of Japanese cooking which goes way beyond the normal menu of London Sushi restaurants.
Japanese home cooking is healthy, can be fast, and has lots to offer for vegetarians and vegans.
Couldn't recommend this enough!
A. L.
I bought the Okonomiyaki class for my boyfriend, who has lived in Japan for two years, and had always spoken about these 'As you like it' pancakes. The class took place in a quirky little cafe in Shoreditch which was ideal for the teaching and cooking sections of the experience. We learnt about lots of different foods and flavours and Atsuko and her colleague were so friendly and enthusiastic and very knowledgable about their craft. As a vegetarian adjustments had to be made for my dishes and Atsuko made sure that my needs were fully catered for. The soup we made was delicious and the Okonomiyaki was incredible - I even got a little box to take home as I was so full! I would highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for some interesting, engaging, interactive and delicious Japanese cooking run by friendly and accommodating experts! Thanks Atsuko, and for always being so lovely in our emails too!

We went to one of Atsuko's classes last Saturday, it was really informative and fun, can't wait to get the kit and start producing sushi, sashimi and some egg rolls which were a revelation if you've never seen how they are cooked! Atsuko is very knowledgeable and produces some great Japanese dishes.
C. M.
Having attended the five week Beginner's Course, I cannot begin to say enough good things about the experience.
Atsuko is a wonderful teacher - it's impossible not be caught up in her infectious enthusiasm, and she takes a lot of time to make sure the students understand not only the cooking concepts of how to use the various ingredients, but also some of the cultural context of the dishes. I really felt that I learned something during each of the classes (as opposed to slapping a dish together and forgetting all of the nuance the next day).
Classes are small (flexing from 4 to 8) and attract a cool crowd that makes you want to go out with for a beer after a cooking session, Atsuko went out of her way to be flexible when I had to miss a class, and the food itself is fantastic!
It's by far the best cooking class I've ever been to, and it had become a really cool fixture in my week that I would look forward to.
I'm not normally one to write reviews, but this deserves all 5 stars :)
K. C.
My husband and I loved learning to make suski with Atsuko. It was a very informative three hours. we started learning to cook the sushi rice, shopping for fresh fish, making two types of rolls. Atsuko was lovely, well informed, and very helpful and entertaining. The classes are small and intimate so you do not feel overwhelmed.
A. K.
Atsuko is a really great cook and teacher. We had a great time here learning how to make vegetarian sushi. Would recommend it to anyone who is interested in cooking Japanese food at home!

We had an online class with Atsuko during lockdown and it was fantastic. Atsuko is so knowledgable and enthusiastic, and clearly has so much love for her craft. We really enjoyed the class - AND the food we made! Oishi!
J. S.
Atsuko's Okonomiyaki class was really good fun, and very infomative. Enjoyed it very much, would highly recommend.

Lovely dinner and sushi making class! We had an event with Atsuko for our annual company dinner and were immensely impressed with the standard of teaching but also the quality of the food. We even had the sushi chef from Nobu to teach us how to properly slice fish (and she even let us use her very own knife!). In the end we all managed to make our own sushi and the evening was a great success. The planning with Atsuko was straight forward, she listened exactly to our requirements and offered delicious finger food when we arrived. Her and the team were incredibly attentive and made sure everybody had a full glass. Even special dietary requirements such as vegan were not an obstacle at all. We are a finance company and used to having high quality events and even our CEO was impressed and had a great evening. Would definitely recommend!

I was a little nervous attending a Japanese cookery class but I didn't need to be as Atsuko was so friendly and helpful.
Following a trip to Japan in the Easter I wanted to learn how to make okonomiyaki, and this two-hour session not only filled me with the confidence to make it myself but also with some amazingly tasty broth and enough okonomiyaki to feed my whole family!
It was a small group of six, and within a few minutes everyone was on firs-name terms and helping each other, under the kind tutelage of Atsuko herself.
Warmly recommended for a sweet couple of hours of communal learning in a friendly environment.
S. S.
We really enjoyed the class, we learned so much about how to make sushi, how to cut fish and lots about the japanese culture. We had lots of fun and we were amazed of how much you can do in 3 hours! And it was delicious! Also Atsuko gave so many good recommendations about where to buy fresh fish, japanese ingredients and so on! We can highly recommend the sushi class!
L. N.
I did the beginners course, which was fantastic. Atsuko is super lovely and an excellent teacher. I highly recommend doing this course if you want to learn more about Japanese cuisine (also met some great people)
A. M.
I took the beginners course one year ago and I went back for the Shojin Ryori class last evening. Both times I had an amazing time. Atzuko is very passionate about teaching Japanese cooking and culture, she is always very smily and happy to answer any question. I also really enjoyed the learning about how to set up the table and how important aesthetic details are in Japanese cuisine.
I felt very lucky to attend to the Shojin Ryori class with Mari Fujii, who came from Japan for the ocasion. She was so lovely and full of wisdom, you could see that she cooks instinctively as the grandmothers do.
Atzuko's kitchen is a very good place to learn Japanese cooking, the athmosphere is very friendly but well organized at the same time... and the relaxed dinner after the lesson is the perfect way to finish the evening.

Had a fantastic time at Atsuko's Sushi Made Simple cooking class - great teacher, lovely food and very good value for money! Would thoroughly recommend - Im looking forward to trying the other classes now too!

I had a lovely time learning to cook delicious food from Atsuko's native Kyushu. Atsuko's relaxed warmth infused the collaborative cooking process, so that when we sat down to eat together at the end, the atmosphere for great conversation had also been created - a lesson not just in cooking, but in playing host too. Thank you!
r. r.
Simply the best sushi making lesson in London. Atsuko has amazing cooking skills and knowledge while at the same time being a very sweet and kind person. Definitely recommended.
ア.
Really well taught class. Money well spent. By the end of the two hours everyone could cook some pretty decent okonomiyaki.
K. C.
I took the Bento cooking class and I loved it! We learned the way Japanese people think when making Bentos and how they make them look visually appealing. Then we learned how to cook 5 different dishes with the help of the sensei. The teacher taught us first with a demonstration and then we would recreate what she did. She also gave us tips, showed us the different condiments and sauces to work with and was overall very helpful! The atmosphere was great and there were people from various places and cultures. At the end we got to eat what we had made. I had a lovely time and would definitely book another class.

I attended Atsuko’s Kitchen “Creative Vegetarian Sushi Making Class”. It was really really fun!! Students’ motivations varied, including the interest in Japanese cuisine, Vegetarian food or Shojin ryori (Buddhist cuisine), health concern etc. Atsuko created colourful and stunning Sushi, and after 3 hours, we realised that we were more and more interested in Japanese culture, and in what we eat every day!
Her class not only teaches how to cook Japanese cuisine from the basic, but also a variety of tips and where the ingredients come from. You can also learn about the spirits of Japanese culture, for example, parents teach their children saying “you cannot leave even one grain when you eat rice. Think about the long way that this grain traveled from the farmers to you.”. It is absolutely outstanding, and highly recommended!!

It was really a great experience to attend the Shojin Ryori class with Shojin master Mari FujiI at Atsuko's. Like the previous class I have joined, Atsuko has made a lot of effort to ensure all's in order, well explained and organised. The class was in good size, easy to follow and interesting. Mari was a wonderful master teacher, who gave a very interesting introduction about herself, her experience and association with the cuisine, and the essence and Buddhism philosophy behind the Shojin Ryori cooking. The dishes were all amazing, presented in simple structure, fine, delicate, and mostly emphasising on the natural flavour of seasonal ingredients. It's a perfect combination of well balance Zen food, body and soul. Would highly recommend Atsuko's class to anyone who appreciate Japanese cuisine at its most traditional & authentic form.

Had the sushi making class today and it really did blow me away. I’ve done various different “masterclass” classes and this one was up there. Gave me a real appreciation for sushi. I’m ashamed to say before this I thought, sushi, what could be different but it is so precise and nuanced. Well worth a class. Atsuko is brilliant, excellent at teaching & personable.

A delightful way to spend a Sunday morning. A lovely atmosphere established by an upbeat and knowledgable teacher. I will definitely be buying classes as gifts from now on! The difficulty level was well judged, challenging enough to be fun, but not so impossible that the end result wasn't satisfactory!

Had an excellent lesson in making gyoza with Atsuko. It was an interesting experience given the current situation but the whole class was so safe with the limited numbers allowed. I would 100% go for another cooking lesson in the future.

Atsuko is as gifted a teacher as she is a cook; her class was a joy. It had a good balance of learning by enthusiastic explanation, by skillful demonstration, and by startled participation - but there's no time for nerves when taking the culinary centre-stage following each mini masterclass, only a kind of near-instant camaraderie.
More than enough to whet the appetite for further experimentation at home, and needless to say the food itself was totemo oishii - but above all, it's super fun!
10/10, would bento again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our bento class with Atsuko. We had a small group of 8 which meant it was very interactive and engaged. Atsuko teaches you so many tips and tricks in a friendly and relaxed manner. And the food was delicious! We would love to try other classes with Atsuko.

I did the Beginners Japanese Cookery Course over 5 weeks and I have learnt so much - the classes are interesting, easy to follow and very hands-on! Atsuko is very passionate and helpful and teaches you some fantastic Japanese home cookery. I can't wait to test my new skills at home!

I attended the Kyushu region cookery class. Having spent a month recently in Kyushu island, I was really looking forward to it. I learnt a lot in a nice group of people. The food we made with Atsuko's expert guidance was delicious. Also enjoyed the accompanying drinks. I am already looking to book the next one.

I did the tofu cooking class and had a great time. A fun group, really interesting to learn about Japanese tofu cooking, and a good range of recipes and techniques that I'll definitely use again. And on top of that, a tasty dinner! Thanks Atsuko!

Really enjoyed the Beginner's Class, which features simple / quick to cook but still delicous recipes. Atsuko starts out explaining the recipes, after which the class splits up to prepare the invidiual dishes. At the end everyone share's what they have made. Highly recommended!

Thank you, Atsuko! For a really interesting and informative bento lesson, and delicious lunch. I would never have worked out how to make that egg roll on my own...

It was a wonderful evening, which passed very quickly. Atsuko managed to bring together eight people who didn't know each other, and get them all working on different dishes. Very well organised. At the end, we all sat down to a beautifully presented meal which Atsuko managed to make us believe we had cooked all by ourselves. Thank you for breaking down the fear of cooking with unknown ingredients and different methods. Also for reminding us that the way a meal looks is also important. Will go on to try more.

A really good sushi educational experience, great, warm,. informative host. Definitely recommended.

I had a great time on the tofu course. I wanted to learn a few Japanese dishes which were vegetarian focused and feel I’ve got some great dishes I can cook at home. Atsuko is a great teacher who is energised and friendly. Thank you.

If you want to make wonderully magical looking delicious sushi go to Atsuko to learn. In three hours we made works of art from vegetables. It's an easy step to start imagining adding other ingredients not used in the class (ours was the vegetarian sushi making class) as well as fish. Thank you Atsuko for three hours that I'll remember forever. Now I'm off to make veggie sushi at home. Penelope

Loved this sushi making course! Positive, clear and patient teacher, nice size class and great setting. I'm not a good cook, but was delighted with how my sushi looked and tasted. Catered for veggies too. Big thumbs up.

I took the bento class, it was a great experience.
I wish it'd been a little longer, but the concept of it is to make quick food. We learned a lot in that time though!
We ate the bento afterwards and it was really nice. Atsuko was very kind and patient and I really enjoyed the lesson.
I actually bothered creating a G+ account to leave a review, that's saying something.

Friendly and unique Japanese cookery class with delicious Kyushu speciality food. As well as learning to cook four tasty dishes, we also learnt about Japan, staple Japanese ingredients, Japanese shops in London and suitable food substitutions. All fueled by shochu and plum wine!

This time we learned how to make stunning California rolls with spicy tuna, temari balls and classic salmon and cucumber, and egg rolls. Best part - we were able to recreate it all at home following a step-by-step guide provided by Atsuko! Definitely coming back.
