Reviews of Building Centre
S. A. P.
Quaint little museum hidden off Tottenham Court Road. Excellent displays. Cafe had excellent food and drinks at reasonable prices. Place was very clean and you can wander about without being bothered.
G. W.
I came in for the cafe. The coffee there is really great. I think the brand name is called Blue Note Coffee House and honestly, one of the best coffees I've ever had. Generous portions and lovely service!

Currently there's three exhibitions going on. One is for the Crossrail 2 project, the second is about digital design and construction, the third about modular design concepts to try and solve the chronic shortage of housing in London. I really enjoyed the latter, especially how quickly a new high rise building can be built using "factory manufacturing" techniques for building homes using pre-built units.
The lower floor seems to be some kind of sales convention with lots of companies in the buildings trade hawking their products. It was a Saturday when I visited and all the booths were empty, which was actually quite good because I got to wander around and actually look at stuff without getting harassed by sales.
J. L.
The new coffee shop is really great! The coffee is good and the food is healthy and delicious!
A. L.
This is a great place if you are planning a new build or just want to find out about the latest products available to you within the construction industry. Also has a great cafe. 👍
P. H.
Tried almond croissant at the cafe and it was very good
M. E.
If we are to support the millions of people needing more secure homes. More sustainable for all our futures..we need to take notice of here.. I applaud your exhibition and those interest ing busineeses from Rehau to all who have new technologies available to see right know.. inspirational..
M. W.
Perfect building for the promenade performance by Waste Not Theatre Company this evening. An interesting place.
K. P.
There's this cafe there where they kindly serve you specialty coffees, which is unbelievably amazing. Give it a try. They are perfect.
J. G.
Interesting exhibits that regularly change. Good place to meet with others especially at CIBSE events.
M. T.
A great thinking, meeting, learning space. Frequent exhibitions on a variety of architectural and London-specific topics, a great little coffee shop on site.
J. H.
Fantastic space, good cafe, central meeting place, interesting exhibitions
B. H.
Intriguing exhibition of city planning and construction practice throughout London. The staff are enthusiastic and generous with their time, so I was able to learn all sorts of fascinating stuff that was not mentioned in the open presentations. Bonus points for staying open regular hours on a Monday!
Л. В.
Free architectural exhibition, it was a pleasure to see.
A. S.
I came here for a meeting and was overwhelmed by what a happy, exciting and interesting place this is. It's much bigger than I thought and the product exhibitions would have been invaluable when we built our extension two years ago. I wish I'd known about The Building Centre then. Also, don't miss out on the lovely fruit drinks in the cafe.
P. B.
If you have an interest in architecture and the building industry in general, or in sourcing or comparing building-related materials and products, then this is a fairly good place to visit and keep in touch with. As well as a standing exhibition of building products, materials and services - albeit limited by space restrictions, which can at least provide a starting point for searches, it is also the home of public exhibitions, public lectures/talks and special interest group meetings too. So their events schedule is generally worth keeping an eye on. Tottenham Court Road and Goodge Street stations, as well as numerous local bus routes, provide convenient access.
R. P.
Useful location for training and meeting. Especially the coffee shop at entrance level, nice.
R. V.
This place is conveniently located in Store street and attract a lot of clientele that work locally in Central London. Every time I visit there is always some function and display going on. Don't forget that it has a Basement area at very modest cost(for Central London) for a host or small gathering for a number of smaller companies or organisations. Go check it out including the delightful Cafe at Ground floor
V. P.
Interesting architecturally focused venue, with fascinating talk on London's historic development.
Cafe serving simple tasty snacks and meals, and toilets very clean.
R. B. -. E. k.
Whenever am up that way pop in, have a look around as there are often some quite interesting exhibitions up there.
London is a massive building site right now and at least when you get in to the Building Centre you see things in more perspective.
Good place to visit if you are in to keeping up to date
T. K.
If you want to learn more about the construction industry then this is the place to be, the Building Centre has an array of displays and models, showing different examples of ideas and parts of existing buildings so that you can better understand the mechanics and function of various structures.
The Building Centre has a small cafe near the entrance when you walk in which is convenient if you want to have snacks and drinks.
The staff there are friendly, and they will help you if you have any questions about the stuff inside the Building Centre.
D. M.
Really cool table top model of London. It's about as big as a table top model can get, worth a look!
Nice little cafe too, but with so many other options about, I'd not go there just for a coffee.
N. R.
Went for a private event. As usual very well organised. Only thing I would like to add, perhaps better selection of red wine and some sparkling water be nice to have.
P. C.
The building centre is a free to enter architectural show room. It features numerous manufacturer's stands across two large floors. Its a great place to go to meet suppliers and see a wide range of products in a single venue. It also regularly hosts construction events and conferences. Worth popping into if you are passing.
h. m.
people super friendly, the coffee is fantastic
i recommend everyone visit the building center and get amazing coffee.
M. T.
We stumbled upon this gem whilst exploring Bloomsbury. Absolutely fascinating displays about emerging trends in the built environment. Well worth a diversion for a quiet hour.
L. D.
Amazing space!!
y. w.
The roof is ruining my eyes and my doctor told me to wear neck protection. The roof is just too weird for this planet, please replace it with a more basic and common version.
Sincerely, on the behalf of the London residents. (Above is all from Anthony, I love the roofing as a nice view from AA terrace, best, Charlotte
m. d.
Great place for conference and also a nice cafe to chill out
S. V.
Great exhibition space and a lovely Café where to relax, work, meet.
c. s.
Just another commercial space that will do anything to finance their habit. Not great layout possibilities where there are pillars. Needs better architecting and a community orientation if it's not to be just another cynical arm of rentiers boasting how much good they do whilst immersed in confidential profit-taking deals, often resulting in a massive transfer of wealth from us to them.
B.
If you are interested in architecture or wanted to see new building technology, building centre is good place to visit. There is also small cafeteria with good priced coffee.
L. J.
Well worth a visit any time of the year, always seems to have some great exhibitions and plenty of space to meet and discuss the wonder of the built environment!!
A. V.
Just amazing for a relaxing coffee and to see the gallery space which is usually open to the public. Worth visiting if you want to learn more about the city and what is going on in relation to the build environment.
F. L.
Run into The Building Center by accident, while walking in the area. The current exhibitions were marvelous and had a great time. If you are interested in move renovation, there are also some interesting resources that you can explore within it.
J. M.
The Building Centre reception, last Thursday, was to celebrate the work of young architects so why did they close the bar early ...just because thirty old-timers did their celebrating in the bar area ...for almost the whole evening?
G. M.
Big London Interactive Map. Nice to take a look!
C. B.
The exposition about London is definitely a must-see. Lots of information about the history of London, transportation, housing, the different boroughs... etc
A. O. Q.
I would come back for all the awesome exhibitions
G. R.
A quirky coffee shop, very good food, with coffee for those who want a taste that avoids what everyone else provides. Coffee with a real depth of flavour. Well done.
D. M.

M. H.

H. H.
In my experience, worth visiting for two good reasons: excellent lunchtime salads and a fascinating/huge scale model of Central London
R. C.
Great venue. Wish it had some hot desk space. There is downstairs but it's members only. Cafe on ground floor was very busy.
P. C.
The giant 3D map of London is great. Often come here to work for an hour or two. Coffee shop is good.

Good meeting room. Aircon much appreciated in current weather. Easy access to tube.
J. S.
Wellbeing experience make a future office space looking very work friendly and concentrated on human performance more than building environment impact. Good thinking!
C. O.
A fascinating exhibition of London and its future developments with a scale model allowing you to see much of the city we know and love.
J. S.
With the added light effects to outline features it's even cooler. Select the major roads and a spider web appears
J. G.
Went for a talk, good venue space. It also has a small construction "museum"
D.
Really interesting place to visit with some fantastic exhibitions. Went to visit the Zaha Hadid exhibition in August.
