If you want to run an Ultra Marathon but are not too sure if you have what it takes then look no further than the amazing DaznBone coaching team.
I thought there was not particularly much to running other than putting one foot in front of the other. How wrong am I ! Recommended to me by a friend I decided to contact Coach Dave Bone to see if he could improve my running times and distances.
Prior to receiving any training plan I had an hour Zoom call with Dave listening to my running goals and for him to explain to me what was required from nutrition to mental strength from sleep to training. Dave made me excited about wanting to run, I was invigorated to see where my legs would literally take me. Dave’s passion for running is more infectious than a bout of Omicron.
The training plan came with access to Training Peaks which is absolutely superb especially if you are into the numbers and stats as you monitor your weekly progression. I truly believe they individually tailor the plan to your ability and will only ever give you a week or two of plan as they assess your performance to anticipate if they need to push you or hold you back.
What struck me most was the variety and the way they structured my plan. Mostly easy runs still had something to focus on whether it was strides a certain pace or time. The harder runs were as it states HARD but each week was different and it was this variety that gave me the enthusiasm to run. The 80:20 rule of easy to hard is definitely the way to go for results and improvement but it took me to listen to DaznBone before I realised this. I was and probably still am a numbers man, I like to know my times and distances and heart rates etc but what Dave showed me was that I actually love running. I look forward to all my training runs and although I have races as goals my goal is not particularly the end race. My goal is to get as fit as I possibly can, where this takes me is now secondary.
Just for the record since I have started their training plan (Oct 2021) I have completed PB’s in the following distances. 1km, 1 mile, 5km, 10km, 10 mile, Half marathon and Marathon. I have asked if they can coach me to a 50 miler and then the ultimate for me a 100 mile South Down Way race in June 2022. I will update on completion of this event.
In summary if you are thinking of getting a coach then DaznBone is the coaching team you will love and the results will be so much greater than you ever see within the numbers.

Attended their first Epping Forest 50K Ultra and this is one of the best experiences of 2021 racing calendar!
Professional yet personable with each Camino well taken care of, greeted and the @treesnottees and glorious wooden medal bling made it extra special but above all the sense of community and comradeship is what makes Camino Ultra who they are!
If you never done an Ultra before and looking to attend one these guys are it! And also look out for the Coaching ❤️

Ran my first Camino Ultra race this weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it. Ran the Epping Forest Ultra, whole organisation of the day was brilliant. Such a friendly and welcoming event, great course and fantastic support along the course from marshals and aid stations. Will definitely be back for future events. Thank you Camino!

With the help of David and Paula, I ran my first (2!) 50ks this year. They are incredibly supportive and encouraging. I've run much more than I ever expected too. The events are also well organised and super encouraging. I first heard about them from my brother and would recommend Camino to anyone who wants to push themselves to run further (and faster!).

First 50k race, brilliant experience. Fantastic course which started and ended outside a pub but was all trails from Wanstead in East London to the top of Epping Forest and back. The thick morning fog added to the atmosphere. Great encouragement among the runners. Very well marshalled and good aid stations. Overall a fantastic event with brilliant support, medals and a pub 'The Golden Fleece' 10 yards from the finish line which served A1 Guinness. Will definitely aim to do again.

I have been thinking of doing an Ultra for quite sometime but never had the courage/confidence of registering for one but I really wanted to run one as my 50th was approaching. I had the chance to join the Camino coaching community and it's been a fantastic journey for me. Paula, David and Darren showed me the way to complete a 50k Ultra, making me believe that with a focussed programme, even an average runner like me can take on such a challenge. From talking and listening to me, giving me feedback and encouraging me, I felt ready and prepared to take on this run and I can only feel grateful for sharing their experience and passion with me and make me complete not only my first Ultra race but my first race over Half Marathon distance.

This was a brilliant ultra on my doorstep, but took me to new parts of Epping Forest I've never been to before. Super-friendly organising team, and actually super-friendly runners as well. This was only my 3rd 50k run, and it's definitely a course that would suit beginners as well as more experienced runners. I'll definitely do this race again next year.

In only 8 weeks, David took me from struggling to run 3k once a week injury-free, to being able to run 18k comfortably and 5k in almost 20:00.
Amazing experience - thank you David

Daz’n’Bone coaching are great 👍. Tailored and adapted running and training plan to meet your goals. Also the use of Training Peaks, What’s App and Zoom ensure you get the constant support you need as you progress the plan. Very knowledgable and friendly guys who are passionate about running and helping you achieve your goals. I was lucky enough to get into the 2021 Spartathlon and Daz’n’Bone were fundamental to my success in achieving this bucket list event. Thanks Daz’n’Bone ❤️🏃🏻♂️

I started being coached by Camino a couple of months ago. They are friendly, experienced, knowledgeable and passionate ultra-runners themselves who took genuine interest in understanding my own running journey and helped me train, plan and prepare better for races and improve as a runner. They also organise ultra races in and around London that are fun and accessible to anyone looking to go beyond 26.2 miles - including me, having signed up to the next one next month.
