AMAZING ! I had the most wonderful experience at Gillian Roberts Bridal with both my sister and my mum present. I had been to a number of shops prior and they were no near as friendly and accommodating. Sharon was SO lovely; very friendly and helpful and made the experience so pleasant, but as my wedding was pushed back 18 months due to COVID, all the staff was amazing ! They kept me updated even though my dress was with The Sewing Rooms for alterations. They have a variety of dresses and allow more than enough time for appointments, which meant I could try on so many until I found 'the one' and when I did it was the most amazing feeling and Sharon's reaction was so memorable! I absolutely loved my dress and received so many compliments on my wedding day. I'm not ready to put it away! I can't recommend Gillian Roberts Bridal enough. Thank you so for everything ! x

The most wonderful bridal shopping experience. The ladies at Gillian Roberts are so kind and down to earth you feel at ease from the second you walk in and nothing is too much trouble. Sharon and Laura at my initial appointment made me feel so special and relaxed and helped me explore dresses that I never would have picked and helped me find the one! There was not ever any pressure to buy and they really listened and understood what I was looking for (or not) in a dress! You will not ever feel rushed! I had a wonderful experience choosing my wedding dress at Gillian Roberts- I was a bit nervous to start with because my wedding isn’t at a particularly traditional venue, and I was worried I wouldn’t find any dresses to suit my style! Sharon put me at ease straight away, and pulled dresses based on conversations we’d had prior to the appointment- as this was the first dress shop I’d looked in, when I found ‘the one’ I was still encouraged to look elsewhere to make sure, and when I did I really realised how wonderful the ladies at Gillian Roberts are, as well as it really cementing the decision on the dress! Additionally, they were super accommodating of my 5 month old nephew coming along with my sister in law to the first appointment, which made everything so much easier! My experience in my appointment for wedding dress was amazing! Mrs Sharon and Mrs Laura are real professionals, kind and always with a smile. They were very helpful, they understood at once the style of wedding dress that I was looking for and brought me fast the dresses that I could try. I was alone at my appointment as my sister and friends could not come at that day but I had a great time. Mrs Sharon and Mrs Laura made me feel really comfortable, I tried many dresses, Mrs Sharon gave me nice tips regarding the dresses, Mrs Laura was always happy to take me photos with every dress I was trying, she even helped me make video calls with my cousins to show them the dress that I liked more. Both ladies were fantastic and the dresses were very beautiful and very good prices!! Also there is no charge for the appointment so you can go back to see your favourite dresses again without thinking that you will spend a fortune until you find the one!

I felt beyond comfortable with the ladies from start to finish. They greeted myself, my sister and my mum with smiles and just had great energy. I felt the customer service was fantastic. I had a wonderful experience with my Mum and sister yesterday at the shop, we was greeted by Sharon who is absolutely lovely! I called a few days before to arrange a date to come in and try on some dresses, I originally spoke to Hazel on the phone who was very accommodating to the time/date I preferred. A massive thank you to the staff at Gillian Roberts for the help in finding my dream wedding dress. From the moment i walked into your store i could tell that it was run by really down-to-earth people, where i had experienced a lot of pretentiousness in other bridal stores. Gillian Roberts is the complete opposite of that, they made me feel so comfortable and were really complimentary, without being pushy or salesy. They allow you to take photos of each dress, again something other shops do not allow! It was such a refreshing experience. When i decided on my dress, they said i could pay off the dress in installments, interest free, which is something which is just unheard of at other stores. I think they're service is amazing and i cannot recommend them enough.

Today I went to pick up my wedding dress as it has just arrived. The experience from start to end has been amazing. Before going to Gillian Roberts, I went to many shops both in Central London and the outskirts and tried on many dresses. I went to Gillian Roberts over a year ago after driving for over 2 hours to get there!! My mum said 'you better not get your dress here as it's miles away!' The reason I was prepared to travel further to get my dress was because it is a Martin Thornburg dress which is a brand that is exclusive to very few shops. The sales consultant, Emma, went above and beyond to locate the dress and even let me know when there was a trunk show meaning they would have the dress in the shop. When I arrived at the shop, Emma was friendly and professional at all times, she definitely was not pushing unlike other shops I've visited! I also went back to Gillian Roberts for one of their events where I bought exclusive handmade accessories such as my veil and hair accessories for myself and my bridesmaids. This has been a truely special and memorable journey and I would have no hestation in recommending Gillian Roberts to anyone! They went above and beyond on all aspects to make sure my experience was truely memorable and magical!!!!!!

I went to a few bridal shops before i found Gillian Roberts and I have to say that this is far superior to any others I visited. The lady's that work here and in the sewing room are all so lovely and helpful. They really could not do enough to help me. There was never any pressure and I never felt rushed. Hazel handmade my beautiful tiara and lovely headbands for my bridesmaids, they were amazing. I got married abroad and they got my dress cleaned so quickly for me to wear again at our reception here. The customer service is superb. I would thoroughly recommend this bridal shop to anyone, a fantastic choice of bridal gowns and bridesmaid dresses, great alteration service and the nicest staff. Wonderful friendly service and Sharon is great! I bought my dress from Gillian Roberts earlier this year; the staff are all so helpful I never felt rushed but always felt as though they wanted me to look and feel the best on my special day! Sharon is an absolute asset she’s personable and is so honest; she’s gives the kind of advice and suggestions a mother would give so I trusted her every word! I had found my dress before but ordered it with Sharon as she went to the effort to speak with the designer and advise me about alterations etc. Plus, Sharon was able to order the dress in for less than the shop where I had originally tried it on. They even made direct inquiries to obtain colour swatches for me even though I had not yet purchased a dress, as well as contacting their seamstress in relation to some dresses that I was interested in but wanted to make changes to. In the end I found my dress elsewhere from a range not stocked at Gillian Roberts. However I would still recommend that you visit GR. This store and their staff deserve far more than 5 stars! Sharon and Emma are absolutely lovely ladies and made me feel comfortable the moment I walked in. I have been to several other bridal shops and none of them even slightly compare to here. I have never had any self confidence but these ladies helped me to feel positive about my body and recommended dresses that made me look and feel beautiful. If you are looking for a wedding dress this is the shop to visit without any shadow of doubt. I chose this shop because of it's good reviews and hope my review will help others do the same. I was a little anxious about my first bridal appointment, particularly worried about whether I would fit into any of the gowns, but I needn't have been - the team at Gillian Roberts were wonderful and put my mind at ease from the moment I walked through the door. My consultant, Laura, talked me through the trying process, and then allowed me, my mum, and sister to browse the rails and pull dresses that we liked the look of. There was a good selection of sizes throughout, and a full rail of size 18+ in various styles. Laura then helped me to whittle down the shape and style I liked until a clear winner became apparent. There was absolutely no pressure to make a decision there and then, so once I've digested my thoughts, I'll be making a return appointment to try the dress on again! Having been to multiple bridal shops, Gillian Roberts Bridal was by far the best one I'd been to! I can't recommend this shop enough! The staff are amazing, especially Emma who was with me throughout my appointment and picked out my winning dress!!! I came to the shop already having some dresses in mind which I wanted to try on and was set on either one of them being the one...however after Emma saw the styles I was going for, she chose one off the rack which myself, along with my mum and bridesmaids all fell in love with! I have just found my dress at another store, but I wanted to write this review to say that I loved visiting Gillian Roberts store, it is out of the way a bit, but if you are interested int eh brands they hold, they are worth the visit because they have the absolute best staff. It was my favourite of 5 or 6 shops that I visited, by far. Emma assisted me both the times I came to Gillian Roberts and she is by far the best bridal assistant I have met and had help from and I think I visited 5 or even 6 shops. She was friendly, honest, genuinely complimentary, understood what I was looking for (even when I contradicted myself) and really was not concerned with sales, but with helping me find the perfect dress. They have a variety fo sizes here and are not precious about the dress, but just want to help you get in them, so you can really get a feel for them. The shop is private and unfussy so you can get on with the business at hand. there is no time limit and the staff are happy to help you get in the dresses and make them look as good as possible on you. I'm genuinely sorry to say that I didn't find my dress at their store. But I will definitely be recommending Gillian Roberts in the future to any friends of mine who become brides to be. This is a non-pretentious, friendly, honest, thoughtful, and non-competitive environment in which to try dresses - exactly what you need!

I went to the main store and tried on a stunning Ronald Joyce dress for £1300 which was really more than I wanted to spend. Sharon and her colleague encouraged me to try on dresses I would not have considered and were so lovely. They were not at all pushy, were so kind and really love helping brides find their perfect dress. I left empty handed and went back to the GR outlet store the following weekend with my bridesmaid where after trying on loads of different dresses, I found my dress for only £400. If money were no object the Ronald Joyce would probably have been my first choice (that rhymes!) but the dress I bought is a very close second. Sharon was amazing again and there was no hard sell, or charging for a weekend appt. Cannot wait to go back in July for my fitting and alterations. All brides should visit this lovely boutique and its outlet if you want a bargain. The staff are a total credit to Gillian Roberts.

The boutique stocks an excellent range of designs from prominent designers in the industry, including a good selection for plus sizes. Sharon and Laura provided invaluable assistance in my search for the ideal dress and were so personable and patient as well as proactive in suggesting designs that might suit me - this was very helpful as I had thought I knew what I wanted/didn't want but the ladies opened my eyes to different styles that were certainly worth considering. Having had appointments at numerous boutiques around London, I felt very disheartened by the impersonal and disinterested attitudes of the staff that had assisted me thus far, but the service provided here was a complete contrast - warm, reassuring and not pressurising in any way - from the point of initial contact on the phone to the appointment itself and after. I have a young baby who was made to feel very welcome, even when she became fussy and I had to attend to her. Despite my being very indecisive, the ladies did not show any impatience and I felt they genuinely wanted to help me find a dress that I would love, also offering their opinions in an objective but non-intrusive way. There was a dress in the window that I had tried on twice previously but was still in two minds about and Sharon had no hesitation in offering to take it off the mannequin for me to try a third time. The company has an outlet down the road with discontinued lines in a range of designs, sizes and even some unique colours - well worth checking out if you are on a budget, short of time or are looking for some different. They also offer an in-house service for wedding accessories/millinery that are custom made to match your dress and, unlike a lot of other bridal boutiques, do not charge for weekend appointments. I don't usually write reviews but found the service here really outstanding and wanted to share my positive experience with others as the search for a dress can be particularly intimidating.

This is such a wonderful shop. The ladies in there are so lovely and warm, the shop is beautiful and has loads of amazing dresses.
