Reviews of Round Chapel

Love this place for it’s beautiful architecture. Been there for Pigs Ear beer festival. This place got my attention as soon as I entered. Big round hall with gallery on top around the building. Perfect venue for music, theatre or other social activities. They managed the festival very well. Great atmosphere in that lovely building.
M. J.
The 37th. Pig's Ear beer festival was held here and it is a wonderful venue for an excellent and well-run event. Cheers!
W. W.
Fantastic venue for events and live music (good acoustics with the horseshoe plan) in a Grade II listed building.
Located nearby many nice pubs and eateries, perfect for those after concert outings.
E. C.
The architecture here is simply beautiful. The place is really unique and suitable for many events. The photos here are very atmospheric!
A. C.
One of the most beautiful church in London. And really ❤ of community in Clapton. They have many projects fir children, music and as well as they support less fortunate people in community. Thank you for your human kindness and keeping hope of humanity alive.

Just visited for Pigs Ear Beer festival but this is a great place for venues, events or its normal intended usage. Very Spacious, beautiful scenery (the Chapel has been redecoratedover lockdown) and lots of seating, if there is an event on the main floor abd you want to get away from crowds and need to sit down. Worth looking at the domed roof or organ if both are visible in an event or other function.
Over the Pigs Ear event there was space outside for toilet facilities and the whole building has enough space inside and outside to get around groups of people.
Overall a good experience thanks to the space and atmosphere of the location

We wanted to say a huge thank you to Philip and the team for all they did for our wedding on Saturday, you and the team helped make sure everything went so smoothly and made us feel very special and looked after. Your advice and careful planning before hand really helped.
We will treasure getting married in such a beautiful space for the rest of our lives, thank you so much.

Very cool place indeed. X

Great beer festival...just caught some of the +5%'s before these ran out! Nice place!! Handy for buses from Euston Rail.
M. C.
Went to see a secrete adventures music event at the Round Chapel. A lovely intimate venue for live music . Three very different bands , but all equally entertaining. Will definitely book to see more live music at this venue.
B. W.
Absolute gem of a venue...perfect for Acoustic set.
Beautifully maintained interior reflective of period style creating a unique ambiance.
Would recommend

Pig’s Ear festival a few weeks ago was amazing. Coming back next year!
r. k.
Lovely venue for the evening performances. Very well organised
S. D.
Good Atmosphere, Great for almost any event, Loads of seats at the top, Large enough for a small Private Event , not much parking in the front, overall great historic place. Standing Capacity is around 500+ but it all depends on the event .🖒
Y. B.
Brilliant wedding ceremony and great atmospheric venue which can be self decorated for a truly personalised ceremony! Congratulations to C and S !!
D. A. H.
Great music venue. A bit nippy in the winter, so definitely wrap up warm, you have to have high ceilings for great acoustics!
f. p.
Thriving Thursday's a chance to sing, danced, played, creat art pieces, cook, fine dining with great company, sewing and relaxing. What more can you ask for? Really special way to socialize with everyone.
N. L. M.
Just a superb venue for this and many other events.
B. G.
Beautiful venue with tons of character and a bunch of lovely people to great you and give you a wonderful experience! Couldn't recommend this place higher!
D. R.
Great venue for the Pigs Ear Beer Festival
T. L.
Super annual venue for the CAMRA Pigs Ear beer festival. Stepped in history. Lovely upstairs balcony that follows the contours of the building for 270 degrees.
E. S.
Fabulous wedding venue for my nephew and his wife.
G. A. G.
We had an event here recently and they were so accommodating to us. Lovely place!
T. R.
Lovely building with great features inside. Very accomodating to non religious ceremonies. Spacious enough to fit 200+ people.

Pigs Ear Beer Festival 2021. Charming venue.

We got married at the Round Chapel in October 2019 and cannot recommend the venue highly enough.
The Round Chapel is a wonderful, large versatile space with beautiful lighting. It is licensed for civil wedding ceremonies. We had around 250 guests for both the ceremony and the reception, a big Greek BBQ which requires a large outdoor space, we had a big mobile bar, huge hired palm trees and hanging baskets to give the place a tropical theme, and separate set ups for a DJ, an acoustic band, and a piano man (venue comes with use of grand piano).
The venue also has a private room which was used for the registrar appointments before the wedding and then various family members with babies used it as breakout space.
The staff (especially Irma) were very accommodating and helpful - particularly with the many visits to the venue before the big day.
We have a million happy memories of the day. Thank you again Round Chapel!
I. S.
What an iconic venue....used in cinematic films, music videos, borough wide school concerts. Thankfully restored to a decent level with the help of Lottery funding.....
B. G.
A lovely venue, feels very intimate and has a very pleasant atmosphere.
The toilet facilities are inadequate for a sold out event though. The venue is not very well signposted and a good 10 minutes walk (or a short bus ride) away from the nearest tube or train station. Some of these aspects could and should be improved.
K. B.
Wonderfully atmospheric venue for music.
Star lost for festival portaloos instead of toilet access.
M.
Lovely spacious clean place to have a party.
P. T.
The Round Chapel is a great place to hold events, including weddings. Highly recommended!
r. b.
A very good beer festival here
A. D.
I am a lover of architecture. Love to see buildings that was made with exquisite designs. This round chapel was a beauty.
D. P.
Great venue for a live music event
M. B.
Beautiful space, really well organised vintage clothing sale
D. H.
Interesting building. Great charm and character. We have visited it every year for several years in order to attend the Pigs Ear beer festival. The seats upstairs really make the venue. Otherwise people would be crammed in downstairs with nowhere to sit.
P. H.
The Stratford beer festival. The round Chapel is a great place for the festival. Beers, ciders, from the barrel or bottle approximately 100 to choose from. Plenty of seating upstairs in the circular balcony. Food and snacks at all sessions. £10 gets you a glass and £7 of beer tokens, thereafter a contact card payment system runs. Intact glasses can be exchanged for the £3 when you leave. Beers served in pints, halves and thirds by volunteers. Festival runs Tues - Saturday, normal pub hours.
R. B.
Good venue for a beer festival
T.
Good size hall for party and functions. Parking within the gates is okay and can fit a decent amount of cars if you are using during the permitted times. Great for people using the bus to get to the chapel as it is surrounded by bus stops going wither way.
Good size hall.
R. T.
Attractively idiosyncratic venue also used for all sorts of uplifting educational and civic events. Very varied array of things going on but of architectural interest in itself if you are nearby - close to Sutton house, another if the buildings easily passed by in Hackney but worth a look!
n. p.
Fantastic building. Absolutely beautiful inside, lovely ceiling. Went there for a gong bath. Was a little chilly for that but still what a nice space to be in. Also went there for a (slightly alternative) wedding, again, good size and nice architecture.
J. O.
It was a Great venue for a wedding which held about 150-200 people. The wedding ceremony, wedding photos, Waiter service, room for a bar, sit down meal, dance floor with dj, and a delivery of pizzas from the Yard Sale across the road. Wedding ended at 12pm I think? A fabulous day.
S. J.
Lovely space. Great to hire for an event if you want to put on something special. My partner and I held our 'wedding' there sixteen years ago and it was lovely.
R. K.
Interesting place. Nice building.
A. E.
Fantastic venue if you get a chance to visit for a special event. (I'm sure going there for Sunday service is fine too, of course...) We were there for an ale festival, the circular layout and elevated seating created a great atmosphere.
A. -. J. U.
Great venue for a small event, very large spacious hall. My cousin had her Henna party here and we had about 100 guests with a stage etc and had it amazingly lit. The organs on the back wall is a great feature.
m. l.
Fabulous venue in Clapton. The building alone is worth a visit! Lots of events all very very urban and pc.... great if you fancy a good time with people who know how to organise special stuff!
D. S.
Amazing!
They really did a good job with chapels and churches for the acoustics. And the placr is great for music events.
Bohren and the club of gore were as good as it gets, funny and the music was great too.
D. R.
An amazing community resource and hub for local groups.
m. s.
Good venue for arts and music
M. A.
I went there for a school festival. It's a lovely place with an interesting architecture. However I didn't like the staff, not very friendly, it didn't make me want to come back.
It's not a pushchair or disabled friendly building :(
S. E.
I tend to visit here when it hosts ELCAF. The old church is a fine venue. You go there when there's something on you want to see, whether it's Alan Moore, Debbie Harry, the Pig's Ear Beer Festival or, indeed, the East London Comics and Art Festival.
M. B.
Nice environment with a massive space for wedding and other functions to be organised. Catering services are available from professional catering companies e.g. Freshnfunky catering ltd. Got a lovely full service kitchen and another small one. Free parking on site and sounding streets. Beautiful interior design. Decent amount of sunlight enters into the main hall if it's a sunny day which makes it more elegant.
R. S.
Brilliant venue, hosting folk music, beer festivals and the like. Nice to support a local business!
G. A.
One of the best venues for a beer estivation - the Pig's Ear. Never before has a religious venue meshed so well with the imbibing of beer. On two levels with one overlooking the mayhem down below - much like the coliseum but with bar staff fending of baying thirst quenchers rather than lions. When I was younger and my church was like this, I may still be religious.
M. K.
I've always loved Round Chapel. My childhood memories there & my pro Music experiences have all been monumental. It's a great all round space.
P. B.
Great venue but bloody cold in the winter!
J. H.
An amazing venue. Certainly worked as an enormous bar as it was hosting a beer festival. It would make an incredible place to watch a play with a circular seated gallery
R. E.
Multi purpose venue-Blondie gig, next month a beer festival. Large open plan floor downstairs, no in built bar, presume set up for gig. As atmospheric as expect from a former chapel.
C. L.
I attende the round chapel for thd a nusl Pigs Ear Beer and Cider festival. The chapel was a nice place and I enjoyed the event. I did feel the lighting in the main auditorium could have been better.
P. K.
Very spacious. Good choice for events like charity gathering, fighting gala'sor christmass parties, Disadvantage is limited parking space tho. Building itself its stylish and in good condition.
E. M.
I was there for a concert. The venue is quite good but you need a good place for having good visibility
Toilets are outside. A but cold spaceially in winter
M. W.
Brilliant venue, hosts a multitude of events, from parties to gong baths to talks. A beautiful building and well looked after, run a by a great, friendly team! Would highly recommend
D. S.
Other than bring a bus ride away from anywhere I was very pleased with this venue. The acoustics were great. They even had an (expensive) bar when I wasn't expecting one.
S. M.
Access before for set up and after for clean up was a nightmare . We were told at 5min to 12 we had 5mins to pack up all our stuff and get out . We were told we could clean up the next day but the place was closed from the friday night till the Monday. Meaning a day had to be taken from work to clean Other wise this was a great place for a wedding .
M. T.
Really cool venue! Plenty of parking in the street nearby. It's permit only but only until 6.30pm.
This is a unique and cool venue with a wide variety of events.
K. V.
Cool venue, I attended an event here with the Psychedelic Society and it was a fantastic night. Plenty of free street parking nearby.
V. O.
Great venue for a brilliant book launch.
E. B.
Great venue. Really good space. Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful. One not so much!
M. M.
It was a Camra beer festival.Lighting was so bad you could not read what was written on the barrels. The building is great.Reminds me of the Ulster Hall in Belfast.I will not be back for Camra though.
D. M.
Attended a wedding here. Great location and cool venue. Just area around can be dodgy. Was asked a number of times for money on my way in the tube.

This is very old church in lower clapton Hackney east London.
Worth paying a visit if you like architecture.

Love this place! Beautiful!

Good sound.
Lots of different types of artists advertised.
A. K.
Went to watch Muay Thai Blood Glory event. Very intimate event and you are very close to the fights with excellent view.
Only drawback is that the seats aren't that comfortable.
P. L.
