Great place serving delicious unique dishes from a varied menu...

Nicole and the team at Curious Eatery catered our wedding. They were fabulous at crafting a menu that reflected our multicultural backgrounds and everything tasted fantastic. They were flexible to different dietary requirements ensuring that those guests still got something special. The only thing we’d say is it is worth speaking to them over the phone as their email admin is a bit chaotic but once you speak to them directly they are friendly and efficient. And on the day before and the day of our wedding they are hardworking, welcoming and friendly. If you want a special meal for a special day use them.

WOW the food was bloody amazing!
The staff were awesome, it was extremely HOT and catering for a wedding must have been knackering in that heat.. however everyone was so lovely and helpful.
Thank you for a pleasant afternoon/evening you did a wonderful job! X

Nicole and the whole Curious Eatery team are incredible and I cannot recommend them highly enough!
They were so amazing throughout, from our initial tasting where they curated a delicious menu to the wedding day. The food was perfect and incredibly executed and the staff were so friendly, helpful and they were all an absolute joy to work with.
We cannot thank you all enough!

It’s great.
I have an issue with our rural lunch spots limiting themselves to panini’s, jacket potatoes and maybe a sausage roll so eating here is a breath of fresh air.
The menu consists of (but not limited to); a kind of Vegan bliss bowl, venison cottage pie, awesomely large quiche (which most diners seemed to reach for that particular day) and the obligatory over priced burger, which was very good.
So I took the burger which came with chunky chips seasoned to perfection and a very good homemade coleslaw. Yes at £13 quid it’s on the expensive side, you could eat a five guys, or even the Ivy for a similar price but it’s not a bad burger and the patty was great so I got over it.
Other dishes were very reasonably priced in my opinion, I tried the venison which was cooked very well, as was the large quiche which was peppered in veg as well to really a meal out of it. Last item our group ate was the risotto balls (arancini) which really was top drawer with its xo sauce. I can’t stress how good the risotto balls are.
If I really had to criticise the menu one vegan option in today’s world is not really fair but that’s digging deep to criticise.
So yeah, eat here. I’ll be very surprised if you walk out disappointed. It’s very nicely decorated, Staff are friendly, the head chef made a point of sticking her head out as we left to say thanks. All these things make for a very pleasant experience.

Such a nice place, first time here and will be back more often.
The food is awesome we had beef to share between 4!
Both our waitresses were lovely, looking forward to going back.

Love this place so much. I have eaten here many times with my wife but i was fortunate to also photograph a wedding there just before xmas. It was perfect for a wedding - the decor is unique, quirky and compelling - there was so much i could do photo wise. The food is always always excellent and whether you are eating as a couple or celebrating a wedding you will not be disappointed.

Gorgeous venue. Lovely friendly staff. Very tasty food what's not to love ?

We had an eight course tasting menu which was delicious. The service was impeccable and we were wonderfully looked after by Sally and the team. A big thank you to them all for making my birthday celebration very special! Highly recommended!
S. C.
Fab new menu, beautifully cooked and delicious food, friendly and helpful staff who were attentive but discreet. Did not feel rushed at all. Perfect celebratory meal. Particularly appreciated the thanks from all the staff as we left, including the chef. Will definitely revisit.

I'm not even sure where to start! Nicole and her team catered our very small wedding in October this year. They were simply outstanding. We knew the food was going to be amazing as we have eaten in the restaurant many times. The creativity of the chefs and the really friendly and professional team never fail to disappoint. The food at our wedding was no exception - it was outstanding. Such delicious flavours and a range of seasonal produce which looked beautiful and tasted amazing. Everyone was blown away.
Not only was the food outstanding, the serving team were second to none. They made us feel so well looked after throughout the entire day. We had a slight wedding cake disaster on the day, (nothing to do with Curious Eatery) but the CE team really kindly stepped up for us and prepared a delicious alternative with the most minuscule amount of notice. We cannot thank you enough!!

I went for the pizza as did daughter. Very tasty.pizzas, sourdough base well worth the wait. My wifenwent for the lamb pie, she commented its the best she's had in a long time. Very good food, friendly staff. Menu has regretfully lost that South African touch. The CE was known for its meat dishes.

The winter globes provide a unique culinary experience - a delicious multi course meal with your own selection of music and attentive staff. Well worth booking.
D. T.
Relaxed and very enjoyable. Food choices from set menu to tapas style and steak selection. Unique and worth a visit. Staff friendly and head chef brought food to the table. First time and will book again

Absolutely fantastic meal. 6 course taster menu was incredible. Chef explained each dish with enthusiasm and passion. Wine recommendations did not disappoint. Whole experience 👌👌👌
R. B.
The staff were friendly and welcoming and well up for a good laugh. The food was amazing, it made me think of grandma's home cooking but if you were to make it at a professional level. I know that doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but it was great trust me

Thank you Harry, Ollie and team for a wonderful evening. Love the wine recommendation. The halibut was divine and scallop toast with caviar was simply genius. Apologies again for coming in late.

Lovely eatery situated in one of the villages old pubs that has been converted. They have kept with the authentic old design of the building but added to it. The cake was really lovely with amazing staff. Upstairs is additional seating and a lovely little shop. The whole place is very clean including both toilets. The staff are very attentive and helpful.

Lovely place! It was our first time here and pouring it down outside. We arrived for a late lunch and they were so warm and welcoming. We had 3 delicious courses (cauliflower soup, salmon and avocado on toast, chicken wings, chocolate fudge cake and sticky toffee) and the atmosphere was quite relaxed.
Will be back again next time we're in the area!

We held our wedding reception at the curious eatery and it was fantastic. The quality of food is breathtaking, everyone commented on its quality and its presentation. Emma, Nicole and the team did a truly brilliant job with the remainder of the staff attentive and polite. The team were accommodating of our wish to dress both floors and set up a DJ, ran the bar fantastically and kept the drinks flowing all night. I knew it would be the right venue when I saw it but it outstripped every expectation. Just about every guest, which came and by the evening that was around 100 people, commented on how beautiful the venue was. Out of this world, thanks for hosting our special day.

Fantastic food, a small but interesting menu including English Tapas and a tasting menu available. Staff efficient and friendly
I hear it may close soon. that'll be a loss.

First visit today certainly will not be the last. Atmosphere very friendly and inviting the staff were welcoming. The food was excellent, very tasty and well presented. My wife and I both had the "manwich" which was fantastic with lots of meat in a choice of bread with a delicious chilli sauce served with homemade coleslaw and a green salad. Good value. Would highly recommend this restaurant.
D. P.
Slow cooked rib of beef to die for. In fact this would have to be my choice of 'last supper'. Lovely atmosphere and not too big so good, personal service. Great to have chef visit the table too.
Highly recommend this place for a couple or small group. Made better and more interesting by being situated in this little village off the beaten track.

The food was nice but there wasn't much choice. About half of the things that were on the menu and special board had run out so our options were very limited. The waitresses were very pleasant but seemed to keep forgetting about us, even though we were sat right in front of them. Never got a specials board bought to us, the desert menu got forgotten about and then waited twenty minutes for our dessert order to be taken (while watching the three staff polishing cutlery). We decided not to stay for dessert as the good ones had run out and we didn't want to wait around any longer. The staff gave us the advice to turn up earlier next time so that there's more on the menu ... but our table was booked and it was only 8pm on a Saturday night. Sadly, I wouldn't go again.

Really nice food. Located inside the Albion pub. Food was really delicious and they cater for dietary requirements. They provided me with a delicious gluten free manwich but also do gluten free burgers. They also have a lot of delicious cakes and desserts including gluten free options. It was a little cold inside and there was a children's party upstairs which was quite loud
K. H.
Wow! Wow! The food was as fresh as can be. The prices are good and the portions are generous. I had the squid starter followed by Poussin, spicy and delicious. The little home made chutney was a lovely touch. You would be mad to pass up an opportunity to visit. Make sure you book an evening out here!
E. P.
Quaint place to go to. Food looked and smelt great on a Sunday. We had baby shower there which was an afternoon tea. Sandwiches lovely, cakes lovely but massive. Staff friendly and helpful. A little misunderstanding regarding hire of room but owner friendly and accepting of query so all sorted happily.
D. B.
Seriously good food. Definitely competing with the best restaurants in Kent for food. 4 of us shared the beef with peppercorn sauce, incredibly tender, so impressed.
Local ale is lovely and Nicole (the owner) takes real pride in ensuring you have a great meal. 10/10.

Great place so nice to find something different and exceptional quality food

First time and very impressed. Lovely service, and very good food. Best on the menu, Woodfired Beetroot...and the Creme Brulee was the best I ever had in England 👍
J. S.
Ordered the Alpine box and wasn't disappointed! Such a great selection and a really nice way to spend a Saturday evening. Easy to order and fab friendly service.

Such a lovely place to go. Wonderful food, great atmosphere and the staff were a pleasure to chat to. We went on a date night there this weekend and will definitely be going back.
S. B.
Had never been before and was pleasantly surprised with the eatery. Excellent afternoon tea had by large group and all catered for well. Downside that there's not enough parking and so be prepared to perhaps have a walk to the eatery.
I. C.
Had Sunday roast it was excellent also being a piggy I had a pudding and the choice was also excellent. Service is a very high standard I will definitely visit The Curious Eatery again. Highly recommended.
R. L.
Tried to go for lunch on a Saturday - walked up through Loose to find it shut. Now apparently closed, at least during the day. Would be helpful if they updated their hours on Google.
B. L.
Lovely place with very helpful staff. Not a wide variety of food, but all to a very high quality. Also good to have gluten free catered for.
C. B.
My favourite little eatery in Boughton Monchelsea. Fantastic lunches, coffee, cakes and delicious suppers. Staff all wonderfully friendly 😊
We had a family celebration and were looked after so well. Highly recommend you visit.

The Curious team have come roaring back from lockdown. Fantastic food and service led to a great night with friends. Well done - we will be back.
D. J.
Ok, but disappointed that on arrival, we were presented with a BBQ menu and not the menu advertised on the website. Limited choice of BBQ food. Not what I expected for a Saturday night out with friends.
On the positive side, food was tasty and reasonably priced.
Negatives, slow service for drinks, poor selection of deserts.
P. M.
Went to their Clam Shack evening yesterday & had a wonderful seafood platter. Loaded with king prawns, mussels, crispy squid & of course clams, but the highlight was the truly delicious crab claws. Looking forward to the next one.
M. R.
Nice Sunday dinner, roast beef rump was lovely. Some interesting starters to choose from as well. Staff welcoming and attentive.
H. D.
Very nice and tasty food! This is more of a taster menu, as all the portions are very small.
J. R.
Lovely staff and good food once the new style menu was navigated! Lovely ambience.
T. D.
A little gem. It was our first visit today, but certainly won't be the last. Amazing food with a nice relaxed vibe
K. T.
A great little find that is well worth a visit. The staff are really nice and welcoming. The food is awesome; even something that sounds basic has something different and special about it. 100% going to visit again.

Great food and nice daily lunch specials with a good selection of veg/vegan options. Lovely surroundings, easy parking and of course very dog friendly which pleased Dennis the French Bulldog very much!
a. w.
Creative and skilled chef serving different and delicious food but it's all served whenever it comes, like tapas but more random. Not so much curious as strange
S. G.
Another lovely afternoon spent at The Curious Eatery. The spring vegetable lasagne and fish and chips were superb. Great service. Loved every minute.
N. S.

Simply perfect, not fussy yet a certain elegance in its quirky charm. Amazing food crafted to perfection. The squash is just a joy to experience
S. C.
Absolutely outstanding... From arrival to departure... The service was outstanding and the food was even better, would highly recommend. Thanks again for a absolutely wonderful evening
R. W.
Food selection quite good but on the expensive side and they had run out of certain meals, not good for 2pm so they had under catered for the whole day.
c.
Food quality was good. Menu options not so good. I can understand this because they dont want to complicate things having said that they have a specials menu not for the faint hearted.
D. R.
My fave place. Yummy food, changing menu, lovely staff. And the best sausage rolls and Malva pudding ♡
M. N.
