We got married in this stunning venue in March. This was the first and only venue we looked at. I fell in love with it straight away. The grounds are beautiful and the barn itself is perfect. Everything we needed and so much more. Tessa and the rest of the staff were so helpful throughout, especially on the wedding day itself. We didn't have to worry about a thing. The venue was perfect in everyway. We had the most wonderful, stress free wedding. We would highly recommend this venue for a wedding.

From the moment we looked round Chaucer Barn we fell in love with it. We originally wanted our wedding ceremony outside and Chaucer has 3+ areas you can do that. The weather on the day didn't allow for that but actually we didn't mind. It felt so special and intimate getting married in the main hall. As I walked along the stair case I could look down at all my guests smiling up. Despite the weather we still spent time time in the stunning gardens. They are simply beautiful. When your hire Chaucer for a wedding over a weekend you get it from the Friday till the Monday. This meant we could enjoy the day after the wedding rather than rushing out straight away the next day. It was so nice to house over half of our guests. We hired the lodges too which was great. Tessa, Alan and Cathryn were extremely helpful in the run up to the wedding. They were always on the end of an email or there in person for advice on our set up or when looking round. They had great advice and gave good recommendations for vendors. Some things to consider if you are hiring Chaucer: - You can use the furniture there but this is not enough for a full wedding party. We hired chairs/tables/cutlery/crockery ect. Our amazing caterers helped with this (Country Box Catering). - we were advised to hire extra things e.g. an additional toilet block, chairs/tables, a stretch tent. We only had 60 guests so this was manageable without all the recommended items. Just bare this in mind when budgeting. Chaucer are very used to local vendors and were very helpful in the set up/directing them. - There is a deposit additional to the hire purchase. We got this back in full but worth to note when pricing up your wedding. Overall, we had the most special day and absolutely loved Chaucer Barn. We have spoken about trying to book a lodge for our future anniversaries.

Having had two postponed wedding dates, we FINALLY got to have our BEST DAY EVER at Chaucer Barn last weekend! It truly is a fantastic venue. Photos really don't do it justice - you have to BE THERE to feel that home from home vibe that can be further achieved by adding your own personal touches around the place. Tessa was brilliant. She was always quick to answer any queries and re-assure us throughout all the uncertainties - and was particularly helpful during set-up when a few unexpected issues arose! The weather was kind enough for us to hold the ceremony outside, which was a bonus as the grounds are spectacular! However, we had LOTS of twinkly lights (and hearts!) up inside - just in case! It truly is a wonderful place - full of charm with a definite WOW factor.

Had a fantastic week in 2 of the Eco-Lodges in the stunning grounds of Chaucer Barn. Great place to reconnect with nature but close to all the North Norfolk places of interest and beaches, etc. Super helpful staff!

We postponed our wedding reception at Chaucer from last October to just a couple of weeks ago. We still got married last year and had the party this year. We fell in love with Chaucer as soon as we visited and we are so glad we went ahead to have our postponed wedding party come anniversary this year. It is just such a magical place and we had the most wonderful day and weekend there celebrating with our friends and family. Tessa was amazing in the run up and on the day as well to ensure things ran smoothly. If you want a blank canvas venue to make your own this is the one for you - a home away home!

We had our wedding here 11 days ago and was such a beautiful venue for it. The grounds are so expansive and we had the ceremony at the Woodland area about a 5 minute walk from the barn itself. Most guests stayed in the barn or in the lodges which were fairly new, and all said how much they enjoyed it. Tessa was great, answered all our questions promptly and helped us a lot on the day - we didn't actually meet her till the day of the wedding, we initially dealt with Jenna who left for maternity and didn't return. Groundsman was great too in allowing us to enjoy the evening without interference unless the noise was too much for the local residents. The venue lends itself very well to weddings of around 50-60 guests as there are many different options for where to hold the ceremony or wedding breakfast. Any bigger and you'll need a marquee in the garden. I would say the floorboards upstairs are super creaky so get your guests to bring earplugs! Also there was no hot water the morning after the wedding which wasn't ideal, but once I'd alerted the groundsman that was sorted.

We can’t thank the team at Chaucer barn enough for our wonderful wedding. Tessa was incredible and helped on every step of our big day to make sure we didn’t have to worry (she even carried my wife’s train through the gardens on the way to the ceremony so it didn’t get muddy!!) everyone commented on what a stunning venue it was and we were so lucky to get married there!

Just lead a wedding at The Chaucer Barn as a Humanist wedding celebrant and this venue stands out as a beautifully intimate but versatile series of spaces in which to host your independant and highly individual event. We held our wedding day at Chaucer Barn last Saturday and couldn't have hoped for a more perfect venue. It was a home from home that allowed us to put together a celebration that was truly us, surrounded by friends and family. This was our third date following Pandemic restrictions, but Tessa and the team were incredibly flexible and ensured we could eventually have our day. If you would like a DIY wedding in the Norfolk countryside, this is a perfect base.

My husband and I got married at Chaucer Barn in July 2019. It is an amazing venue, and just as important it has an absolutely fantastic team behind the scenes that do whatever it takes to make sure your day runs smoothly. The barn is stunning, and all rooms and amenities are of a very high standard so it is a lovely space to have a weekend, we particularly enjoyed being able to have both of our immediate families on site for the whole weekend. The grounds were what really stood out to us when we were venue-hunting.. meadows, fields, wildflowers, a formal lawn, and even space to camp! There is so much versatility and so many beautiful places you can hold a ceremony and different parts of the day. The team were just fabulous, giving excellent advice all the way through the long journey of planning a wedding, and Jenna in particular was an absolute star both in the run up and in being an oasis of calm and making sure everything was just as we wanted it on the day. Having total flexibility over the suppliers we wanted to use was also a real advantage, and meant we could personalise every aspect of the day. We could not recommend the venue and the team more highly!!

Absolutely amazing venue. Had our wedding here recently and it was a wonderful experience. The barn provided a warmth and intimacy that really topped off the familial feel we were going for. We were hoping for sun but the weather went from sun to rain to hail every 15minutes. Originally this seemed bad but actually having the ceremony inside was amazing, contributing to the intimacy perfectly. Upon reflection, we'd have lost that a bit with the woodland ceremony we wanted. Jenna herself was top notch and made us feel confident. Thank you very much Jenna! I can't recommend this place enough and it's honestly one of those venues you must see before you make a call on it. What I would advise to couples getting married here is that it's not a place that copy pastes weddings and with that comes some effort from you to plan it. Either get a project manager or get involved as a couple. The biggest pro is that Chaucer Barn is completely malleable to what YOU want. The biggest drawback is that it's completely malleable to what YOU want so you better have an idea of what that looks like. Amazing venue! Thank you Jenna and the team at Chaucer!

My Wife and I got married at Chaucer Barn last weekend and we are thoroughly chuffed with how our weekend went and how much our guests loved their time with us. Jenna and the team were brilliant, answering all our questions on the lead up to our big day and on hand to make our day run smoothly when it finally came round. The plentiful rooms were all spacious and clean and the log fires made for a lovely homely feel whilst it was freezing cold outside. Everyone that stayed with us enjoyed themselves very much and didn't want to go home! Couldn't have found and tied the knot at a more PERFECT and unique fairy tale wedding venue! Our guests may not have been too impressed with the 3 hour journey, but immediately appreciated why we made the choice to have our wedding outside of London upon arrival and have not stopped talking about it since, with their biggest highlight being the Archery! The blank canvas it offers is second to none as it allowed us to create a personal, intimate and fun-filled day that we will never forget, ! The staff were fantastic from the moment we viewed the venue, especially Laura who will put you at ease and answer any questions along the way. To conclude, we cannot wait to return to this beautiful, tranquil place for a weekend getaway, and wish we could do it all over again!!

Loved it doesn't quite describe it - we had an incredible wedding at Chaucer Barn that has given us and our families moments and memories we still think of often, and will cherish forever. The warmth, charm and magnificence of the house and grounds is only topped by a wonderful team who were there for us whenever we needed (and for everyone else, as proven when they took care of our friend who had gone AWOL the next day!). Chaucer Barn is the most beautiful place to have a wedding; it's just magical! We were recently married here and the staff made the whole experience a breeze. We were hunting for a place that we could hire for the whole weekend and somewhere we could be married outside. We didn't have to look far; from the moment we stepped into the stunning space we knew that this was the perfect venue for us. All the staff are amazing. They're friendly, helpful, they listen and are full of brilliant suggestions. I chose to plan and create most of the day myself but when I needed help, they were always there with a reliable supplier. What we loved most about Chaucer is that you can pretty much do whatever you want. We didn't want to have a cookie cutter wedding; we wanted it to reflect who we are and we felt that Chaucer really embraced this ethos. When we arrived the grounds were stunning and immaculate. The barn and all the rooms were clean and inviting. They had staff on hand to help us out, we couldn't have asked for any more. When the heavens opened just before the outdoor ceremony it was all hands on deck to bring it inside and the staff were brilliant helping to coordinate this. We had 60 guests who loved it; especially the kids. It was delightful seeing them run around and playing in the grounds. We created a little treasure hunt too which went down a storm! Chaucer is idyllic and it felt like ours for the weekend. It was filled with love during our stay and I have memories that I will cherish forever. We had our wedding at Chaucer August 2016. Everybody there is lovely and super helpful, absolutely no complaints. They helped us pull off a magical day. All of the guests commented on what a lovely place it is and we're thinking of going back for a bridesmaids and groomsmen reunion weekend in winter.

Holiday abroad was cancelled due to Covid so opted for a staycation. Rented Chaucer Barn for ourselves and children plus their friends. The kids had a ball - the barn is well positioned for lots of local activities, has lots of interesting spaces for boys to run wild in. It's very relaxed and has everything you need. The floor boards are VERY creaky at night and the aga didnt work properly but apart from that a great week was had by all. If we staycay in the UK again, we would definitely book Chaucer Barn.

I had the most amazing wedding day at Chaucer Barn. The setting was beautiful. The accommodation was magnificent, an eclectic mix of Asian, Oriental and farmhouse. I appreciated the advice given by Laura and Shelagh in the planning and preparation leading up to the wedding day, which led to the smooth running of events for the 140 guests The suppliers; Morton Events (marquee hire), Andy Parle (caterer) and Disco Wed were all excellent choices, as were the photographer PixBeat and videographer Apricot Productions. My husband and I had a Funday bbq on the Sunday which made for a fabulous ending to a perfect weekend. Wish we could do it all again!

We recently held our wedding at the barn and from our first visit and subsequent booking, right through to the day Jenna, James and the team couldn’t do enough for us.. Our wedding was based over 4 days, 3 nights and we utilised the whole site, from a woodland ceremony to an evening Handfasting at the stone circle.. We used all the bedrooms and camp field for our just short of 100 guests and it was just perfect. The venue is just simply stunning, the barn itself is wonderful and has everything you need to be completely self-contained and the gardens are just out of this world… honestly the beauty of the place cannot be done justice with just words.. We arrived on Tuesday lunch Time to be greeted by Jenna (an absolute hero who made everything so simple and easy) and were re-introduced to the barn and then left alone to settle in with the reassurance that she was just around the corner if we needed anything.. Our wedding on the Wednesday went without a hitch, Jenna and the team guided us through the process and dealt with all the suppliers and registrars, leaving us all to just get on and enjoy the day.. The evening Handfasting within the stones went superbly and again words cannot do it justice. The Thursday we all de-camped and headed to Holt to get the Steam train to Sheringham (almost 70 of us) for fish and chips and ice cream on the beach. Thursday night we ordered pizza in and all chilled out within the beautiful grounds all reflecting on how awesome the past few days had been and wishing we didn’t have to leave. A massive thank you to Jenna, James and the whole team who totally got and understood our slightly ‘’left field’’ concept, not even our fire breather raised an eye brow.. Honestly if you are thinking of using the barn.. stop thinking and just book it… you really won’t be disappointed. In a world full of conveyor belt weddings where you struggle to put your own mark on the day the Barn is an oasis for those that want to be different and make their day as personal to them as their own fingerprint. Were already thinking of going back for our 1st anniversary just to do it all again…
