Waxham Barn was the beautiful historic setting for our wedding in July 2022. It acts as a blank canvas for you to shape your wedding/event exactly how you wish. It's huge size feels cathedral-like, but with a rustic charm for the prefect summer vibes - especially as it is only 5 minutes walk from sandy beaches! Monica and the barn were exactly what Cath and I were looking for when we first started researching wedding venues. As a couple skeptical about the wedding industry, Monica’s openness and honesty was a breathe of fresh air. Whilst most wedding managers at other venues seemed to be very pushy with ‘upselling’ their services and keeping things in house, Monica let the barn speak for itself and was genuinely enthusiastic about our intention to do most of the wedding day ourselves, including serving homemade picnic hampers and desserts. She was more interested in us and our ideas, and this friendly attitude was one of the main reasons Waxham Barn instantly became our favoured choice. This laid-back but attentive service continued throughout the long planning process - leaving us to plan the day as we wished, but always on hand to quickly jump in should we need an answer or help with anything. Monica helped us with a very poor supplier, ensuring we didn’t lose out, which saved us a lot of stress. In the week proceeding our big day she was flexible and always available, despite it being incredibly busy with two weddings in a heatwave! On our wedding day she quickly sorted out a minor hiccup involving a page boy stuck in traffic, always making the enjoyment of our day her number one priority. We had such a wonderful day, and feel like we are now part of the ‘Waxham family’, due to Monica’s welcoming smile whenever we were passing by and decided to pop in. We look forward to continuing those trips to the barn as a married couple! Jamie & Catherine x

We had our wedding reception here in August 2021 and it was just perfect! We aren't from Norfolk and used all local suppliers so I was a little apprehensive at first but it all came together perfectly! The barn is absolutely beautiful! Perfect if you're planning an event that is grand but local, rustic but glitzy, and different but familiar. It's just exactly whatever you want it to be! Also Monica, the barn manager was just SO lovely! I can't thank her enough for all the support, advice and guidance! She was/is amazing!

We had our wedding party in Waxham Barn which is a really beautiful and historical venue. It accommodates a large party and definitely is perfect setting for a rustic style wedding. The barn is a very flexible venue so we could choose our suppliers freely. It is also a 10-minute walk from the beach so our guests were able to take lots of lovely pictures. Lastly and very importantly, we also need to thank Monica the venue manager. She went over and beyond to support us with party preparations, and was extremely quick to reply to emails and texts. Monica was reliable and flexible and it is apparent she is very passionate about her job and the barn. All in all, we had a really great time at the barn!

This is the most amazing place to have a wedding, ours was in May 2022. It’s dry hire, so you have to bring everything in, but that gives you complete freedom to make it how you want. The beach is only a 5 minute walk away, and is also great for photos (and a wedding paddle!) Monica - the barn’s wedding manager - is fantastic, she can’t do enough to make sure your day is extra special. It was wonderful to work with her, and she is a real credit to the Trust. We got married at Waxham Barn a few weeks ago and we are still on a massive high! The venue itself is amazing and can so easily be decorated to suit your own needs and tastes. Local vendors and suppliers were aware of the venue and most had relationships with Monica (the coordinator for the barn) which made it very straight forward. We managed to get photos on the beach and some of our guests told us that they loved being able to go off to the beach and spend time outside. My only advice would be that it is a barn...so be prepared for dust and uneven floors which personally added to the charm. I was worried that the cafe being open would be intrusive but our guests enjoyed using it before the wedding and the little cheer from the cafe when I got out the car was a boost I enjoyed :) it actually adds to the venue. Monica is brilliant, always in communication and really helpful and supportive. Sound silly but she blended in really well on the day and made our guests and families feel very welcome. No question is too small or silly and she is keen to explore any ideas that you have for your day! I would highly recommend this venue and will definitely keep coming back as a guest at the café! Thank you Monica, we will never forgot how special you made our day!!!

We got married at waxham barns this weekend and what a magical day it was. The barn is beautiful with such a great space to work with. It allows you to be unique and do what ever you want with it and style to your own taste. From the moment we booked the venue Monica who looks after the wedding side of things has been a pleasure to communicate with. She is always on hand to answer any question or send us details of sizing of space etc, she never stops this women. She made the whole experience much more enjoyable and less stressful for me and the groom. We really do thank her. The barn sells itself and would highly recommend to anyone who wants a unique wedding of their own with such proximity to the beach where we had a some professional photos taken. The cafe is also great and do some lovely food.

I could not possibly write a more positive review if I tried! We had our wedding at the incredible barn at the beginning of July 2022. Yet on our first visit, even on a bleak January weekend, the beauty of the barn shone through! It is perfectly unspoiled with so much character. Albeit a very large space, with a little vision and the amazing services of Smoke and Wildwood, Array Furniture and Quirk Lighting, it wasn't daunting at all! We loved that the ceremony could be conducted at one end, partitioned off, and the dining at the other, without the need to move anything around. However, with all that being said, the best thing about this stunning venue is the wonderful Monica. She is an absolute superstar! We genuinely felt so cared for, nothing was too much trouble and we had such a blast! Waxham Barn will forever hold such treasured memories and we cannot wait to return as husband and wife! We came across the Waxham Great Barn and cafe totally by chance. The cream scones were to die for not to mention the Danish Cherry Pastry. The staff were very polite and friendly. Would totally recommend the cafe. The Great Barn was particularly impressive. It was dog friendly too, as well as selling pooch biscuits for our dog.

Found this lovely cafe by accident. Lots of seating outside very well spaced out on the gravel with some parasols some tables as well as the inside seating. Sensible covid arrangements. Loads of parking. Vegan sausage rolls were lovely too. Very pretty venue and to call it a cafe is almost to talk it down. Lovely stop but did not appear to be advertised at all. We came across it by accident. The description on maps didn't even mention the cage at first?

Absolutely five stars for the venue and events manager Monica after our wedding reception in April 2022. Our original plans were cancelled twice due to Covid. Monica was extremely helpful and accommodating, letting us split the booking in half so we could get married in the ceremony room in 2021, then hold the reception in 2022. Communication was excellent throughout the booking process. The barn is perfect for an event as a gigantic blank canvas, you are only limited by your imagination and the fact it has a separate room for the ceremony is the icing on the (wedding) cake. It has a flat area for a dancefloor, plenty of 13a sockets throughout and a huge outdoor area for entertainment. It is also in the middle of nowhere so no grumpy neighbours to worry about (just some sheep), with some incredible Norfolk scenery and skies to have photos taken with. We only had 80 odd guests and the barn didn't seem empty at all so it's also great for smaller events. We held our reception in April so at that time of year the barn will be slightly chilly (which we fully expected, it's a 16th century barn after all!) but steps have been taken to mitigate this including glass over the windows and a generator heating system. If you don't have any experience holding an event Monica can suggest a wide range of suppliers to bring in. If you are looking for ideas we used: Magical Events Ltd for tables and chairs Filly & Foal Mobile Bar Hire for bar and pizzas Saturn Audio Visual for lighting and PA The Joe Ringer Band - The JRB for entertainment Mike Harwood for excellent photography Elite Hire for toilets Overall we were over the moon with how our event(s) went and would recommend the venue to anyone looking to take on a DIY wedding.

Excellent experience a couple of weeks ago when we were entertaining friends who were vegans. Although the cafe was able to accommodate them with food suitable for vegans it would have been good to have more choice and more vegan cake choice. However my sister and I have been several times and are not vegan and the menu is excellent. We will be visiting again soon.

Monica and Waxham Barn were a brilliant help during our wedding and planning of our wedding. Monica and team were always responsive at any time of the day (sometimes even my late 11pm emails), such a friendly, wonderful atmosphere. As a venue the cafe was lovely when taking my bridal party to view the venue. The barn is great value for money and even offered student discount for me as a postgraduate student, the value for money was brilliant and fit our very limited budget perfectly. Also being so close to the beach it certainly has something most venues don't! Could not praise Waxham and the team more, thank you for making our day so special.

You cannot beat this cafe in terms of location, simply stunning medieval barn. The cafe is not only dog friendly but dog welcoming with staff quickly providing your hound a bowl of water at your table. The service is brilliant as is the food. The food is vfm and generously portioned.

We have just returned from yet another visit to Walnut Tree Farm, just across the fields from Waxham Great Barn Cafe. During our stay we visited the cafe twice - because its so nice. Staff very friendly, service great and the cakes are HUGE. We had a quick cooked breakfast on Sunday morning before heading home. Great value, nice choice. Well worth the visit.

Came across this when driving back from beach ⛱, great find. Stunning location. Beautifully restored barn. Restored for the birds and wildlife thar call it home. Constant stream of swollows darting in and out. The Dunes Cafe was great. Amazing selection of hand made sandwiches 🥪. We had the crab 🦀 sandwich, and tuna sandwich. When they came out they where massive. Could have got one to share. Not bad value 3 large filled rolls, and 3 drinks. And a bag of home man dog treats came to just under £30. Nice outdoor seating in the courtyard. Dogs welcome. No Smoking or vaping on site..

We recently had our wedding here and what an amazing experience. Having a blank canvas may be daunting to some but the barn itself is beautiful and you can have your wedding exactly how you want it. A huge thank you to Monica as well who is just the best co-ordinator you could ask for.

Food was good, coffee, made by a bean to cup machine was not what I would have hoped for. Honestly, as we visited on the day before the start of the new lockdown it was not surprising that the staff were rather miserable as their jobs may have been on the line, but it really showed and affected our visit to what is otherwise a pleasant coastal cafe. Lovely atmosphere and a great stop-off for food if you are making your way to or from horsey beach to see the seals. I had the feta, potato and spinach bake and it was lovely. They have a nice array of fresh cream cakes if you manage to find space to fit one in.
