We knew we didn't want your typical cheesy wedding band for our Wedding in October 2021 so we started doing our research and we came across The Distractions on Instagram. We loved that you could tailor make your own band and the talent to choose from was incredible! Polly and Akin were our singers and they were so lovely, really high energy and interactive which we loved- they got everyone up dancing for all of their sets and it was a real party atmosphere which we loved. The band website is really easy to use and allows you to select specific songs you want the band to play, plus you can create your own Spotify playlist for them to play in-between sets so no need for a DJ as well! The communication with Joseph from booking up until the wedding was really good and the band were professional and prompt at the venue. Really happy with the band we selected and would recommend a thousand times over! Thanks again for giving us the party of a lifetime! The Mathers x

We could not recommend The Distractions enough!!!! We booked them for our wedding in August 2022 and boy did they deliver. Each and every one of the band members were just amazing and their talent is out of this world. The dance floor was packed all night, with music to suit all our guests - we even had a conga line going at one point. The band were very interactive, even getting in amongst the crowd for a boogie, and definitely kept the party going all night long. We have received so many amazing comments from guests, with the majority saying The Distractions are the best band they've heard and seen at a wedding - even the venue staff were saying this and they see lots of bands! We do not have one bad comment to say about The Distractions and we're very much looking forward to finding another excuse to throw a party and have them come to entertain once again! We had the distractions play during our wedding breakfast and evening! The performances were amazing exactly what we had imagined, all our guests were up dancing in between courses during the wedding breakfast. Evening was also amazing the dance floor was full the whole night and the band did a great job of interacting with everyone keeping the party going! We can't recommend The Distractions Band enough!!!! If you have even the slightest inkling to book them for your wedding, DO IT. The choice of hiring Joseph and and the band for our wedding was 100% the best decision we made - they performed throughout the day (ceremony, drinks reception, evening party) and brought the entire day together. We booked The Distractions to play at our destination wedding at Luttrellstown Castle in Ireland this past April. We had 40 guests flying in from the USA and across Europe and worked with Joseph prior to the wedding entirely virtually. Their online portal is great and allowed us to choose songs to our taste from their set lists which really made the entire day feel like it was customized to us. Dwayne and James T. were the vocalists for our event and they performed our first dance songs and ceremony songs we requested beautifully. The evening band portion (DJ Live) was SO MUCH FUN and even though we had a small crowd, they were super interactive and moved through the crowd rather than being stationary at the front of the room - they even got my new husband to do the limbo which he swore he wouldn't do! :) The day before our wedding, our day-of coordinator called out sick which was obviously a total nightmare, but Joseph and the band are so professional and know exactly what they are doing and how to make the best possible day for their clients that it didn't phase them at all. They seamlessly tied our day together and honestly saved the day. They were fabulous and lovely people to work with and to have around during our wedding day. The music was fantastic. Honestly, we can't rave about them enough, I could go on forever and I can never thank them enough for making our day so special.

The Distractions played our wedding on Saturday night. They were incredible!! They absolutely made our night, everyone loved them. They are unbelievable musicians but they also engaged our guests in such a fun way. We booked the Distractions for our wedding abroad and from the first point of contact the communication was very smooth & clear and we felt like they completely understood our wishes. The band could provide us with a good mix of different styles of music to suit our taste and that of our guests, as well as the different moments of the wedding. From romantic songs at the ceremony to a relaxing vibe during the reception and dinner and a great party at the end of the evening, we loved their variety of songs! Many of our guests mentioned to us as well that the wedding was so much fun because of how good the band was, so cannot recommend enough. From initial booking with Joe and his communication, to be able to request certain singers. Joe totally understood what vibe we were going for and on the day everyone was amazing. Having the band play for guests entrance and signing of the register just helped set the tone and then during the drinks reception was amazing to have some live music. The dance floor was never empty in the evening and we had so many compliments on the band. The band interacted with the guests as well which was fantastic. Book this band…. They were incredible. The Distractions played at our wedding and the dance floor was packed all night, no one wanted the party to end. We had a saxophonist for our drinks reception and then a 6 piece band at night. Joseph was amazing throughout the planning process and communication was good. The online platform is a great way to select or veto songs you do not want included on your special day. The band learnt and performed our first dance which was a truly a highlight of our day. The dance floor was packed all night and became even more alive when the DJ live section started. The light up shoes, instruments and accessories were such a hit with our guests. Everyone has been commenting on how incredible they were and that they were the best band at a wedding they have ever seen. Thank you once again.

The band were fantastic, a real highlight of our day. We went for the three-piece DJ Live and they brought so much energy to the wedding, both at the reception and evening. Duriel, the lead singer has an amazing voice and was such an engaging performer. It was also very different to your standard wedding band, which we were keen to avoid. The best wedding band ever!! We originally booked for a 2021 date then postponed and all organisation was seamless through Joseph. You get to choose your favourite songs and make a request through the booking portal which is amazing! All of our guests have commented on how brilliant they were at our wedding in July 2022. They brought the party, encouraged dancing and a conga line! Unfortunately our caterers were delayed so the band were late to start but set up as quickly as they could and made up the time of their sets as much as they could which was massively appreciated. Couldn’t recommend booking The Distractions enough!!

Amazing!! We hired The Distractions off the back of a recommendation and we couldn't have been happier. Our day was split into two, the ceremony and the reception. For our ceremony we hired a saxophonist to play in the gardens which set the mood fantastically, our guests were constantly complimenting them on how wonderful they were. They were very attentive with us too, knowing when to play outside and inside so our guests got the full experience. For our reception we had a 2-piece band which again, worked perfectly as we had a smaller than average venue. They were both amazing and played a real part in the evening, getting involved with our guests, dancing in the crowd and joining in with our party. They read the room, noticing people wanted to dance and changed the music to suit the mood of the room, everyone was up and dancing!! The Distractions team went above and beyond in delivering the best wedding reception entertainment. Music tailored to suit our taste, great, easy to use online portal to select music and communicate with the team. The music went down a treat with our guests, we knew we didn't want the typical cheesy wedding pop. My husband and I did our first dance as a song with the band, me singing and hubby on drums accompanied by the band, and it was epic! Song wasn't easy to learn either (Pearl Jam, Jeremy). They respected our wishes and the song was a success. Loved how they ended with an encore of our fav' UK garage mash-up. Helpful with numerous pandemic postponements, we eventually had the best celebration ever in Sep 2022, 2.5 years from the orginal date! Heartfelt thanks to the team ❤️

We had a vocalist and guitarist at the drinks reception and then a 6 piece band in the evening. The 3 band sets in the evening were amazing, particularly the final ‘DJ Live’ set which was incredible. Joe was great from the initial contact all the way through to the day. Any request we had was accommodated and they were very professional and organised. On top of that, they are all very good people and were a valued part of our day. When we’ve seen our guests, every single one of them has mentioned the band and how good they were. Best. Band. Ever. If you want truly talented musicians to provide the perfect soundtrack to your wedding day, The Distractions are the band for you. Joseph was so responsive from the get go, and listened to what we wanted for the day. Joseph was able to advise us on pros and cons of AV for the ceremony, how to flex the song choices and instruments according to what would work best depending on the weather and acoustics and timings (gale force winds provided an interesting addition to the ceremony). The whole day, guests kept coming up to us and saying how incredible the band was - who are they and how can they book them?! The music complemented the whole day, and they really ramped it up for the evening and ensured there were no awkward empty dance floor moments…the singers were incredible and also provided serious hype throughout the night including rap battles, limbo competitions and bride and groom dance battles. I booked The Distractions all the way back in 2018 after I had seen them perform at The Wedding Show and after 2 reschedules due to COVID, we finally got to have them perform at our wedding this June, and they did not disappoint. The band were absolutely fantastic and the dance floor was full all night. I loved the way we had really easily been able to select what songs we liked from the set list, and also share our own preferred songs for the iPad music service between the live sets. It was so easy and the band did all the hard work of actually putting the sets and the playlists together. We had the package that included DJ Live and we are so glad we did as this was so much fun at the end of the night and was when the dance floor was at its busiest. We loved the way the band came out to interact with the guests… playing Limbo and letting guests play the drums etc… everyone had so much fun. It's impossible to convey in a review quite how wonderful these guys are but I will try. We booked them for our wedding in Cyprus and are so glad we did! We knew from the moment we saw them play and met manager Joseph that they were the perfect choice. Their energy and enthusiam are completely contagious and they are also the nicest people you could hope to meet. Joseph was an absolute pleasure to deal with throughout the whole process and was so helpful in moving the booking when our wedding had to be postponed when Covid hit. We had several phonecalls to discuss the details and he could not have been more accommodating. He also kept well up to date with all the travel requirements so I had no worries that anythng would go wrong. As for the wedding itself, all the band members were incredibly talented and so versatile, providing everything from our aisle song, to acoustic drinks music, to high energy dance and garage (complete with flashing shoes which were the talk of the wedding!). They are just incredible and made our wedding brilliant!

Fantastic! We had originally booked the band for our civil partnership in 2020 which had to be postponed due to covid, Joseph and the band were quick to respond and move the date for us. On the night itself, we couldn't have asked for more, all of our guests commented on how amazing the band were. They even put together a 10 minute Simcha set for us, which, as we understand it, was the first time they have done this, it was great. Lots of fun, highly recommend.

I don’t even know where to begin!! Joseph was UTTERLY outstanding!!! I got married on small coastal town in Costa Brava- not the easiest location to get to!! But Joseph drove all the sound and equipment from England to Spain, arriving on time and making sure he was where he had to be early for sound checks and set ups. He made me feel so at ease and confident and when things were going wrong with other suppliers he came to my rescue over and over again. I can’t thank him enough for that. My friends and family to this day haven’t stopped talking about how epic the band were. They brought ALL vibes to our wedding and absolutely smashed the Israeli dancing at the start. They learnt 5 Israeli songs to kick off my Jewish wedding dancing and they performed these to perfection. There’s really nothing this band can’t do. We were partying until 3:30AM and didn’t want it to end. Thank you Joseph, James, Dwayne and Christine and the band for putting on quite the performance and making wedding a dream come true! X

We had to change the date by a year and Lee couldn’t be more accommodating and understanding. The Guys on the night were absolutely incredible, beyond professional but in all honesty felt like part of our Wedding party and that we’d known them years. Fantastic band! We had to rearrange twice due to covid and the communication from them was excellent. From start to finish the booking process easy and a great website to customise the play list. Couldn’t recommend The Distractions enough! We booked them for our wedding in June this year, at very short notice. Joseph the band manager responded to my initial enquiry within an hour of me sending it (at 10pm on a Saturday night) and couldn’t have been more helpful! Communication was amazing in the lead up to our wedding and the band on the day were incredible and so accommodating. Duriel was our singer and Lewis was our sax player. Our guests were so impressed many of them took the contact details for the band for their own events. Would book them again and again for any future events.

Oh my word. Where do I even start with these guys?! First things first...don't even bother looking elsewhere. Book The Distractions NOW. I promise you, you won't regret it. I would go as far as saying that these guys MADE our wedding. The party was off the chart, and the guests were never off the dance floor. Honestly, for the whole evening, the dance floor was completely full. From beginning to end, the process was so simple and you felt in control the whole time - with guidance from manager Joseph, whenever you needed it! The options are brilliant. We went for the band, and Dwaine and Becca were our vocalists. They knew exactly how to work the crowd and the mash-ups/medleys were out of this world. No matter if you want old school, or new music, r'n'b or rock, garage or pop, these guys will make sure your night is exactly how you dreamt it. I can genuinely say, hand on heart, that I will never go to any other place to source entertainment for a party now! As I said at the beginning, stop looking elsewhere, these guys are all you need and more!

Having seen them on instagram a few years ago by chance, when my husband and I got engaged, I knew instantly they were the band for us to book. In terms of set up, the band were totally self sufficient and didn't complain once about having to carry equipment up 3 flights of stairs! The general evening portion for the wedding was a BIG deal for me and getting the right band/DJ to fit was really important. I was so happy with the response from our guests, we had a busy dancefloor for the whole evening thanks to these guys. They were able to adapt really well throughout the night and gauge the crowd to switch up the set list which was really helpful in keeping the dancefloor busy and vibes immaculate.
