Loved my wedding dress and veil i was really comfortable in it. Thank you to laura at prudence gowns for picking this style of dress for me I really didn’t think I would like it on me but I really do. I went in thinking I would prefer a bigger puffy dress but when she suggested this and I tried it on I knew I loved it. When I said I wanted to cover my arms she suggested this jacket top with it. Loved it all, thank you so much everyone at prudence gowns.

I would highly recommend prudence gowns for all brides to be. I was looked after by the lovely , professional , friendly Ellie in the Plymouth boutique. Ellie was very welcoming and attentive. Very helpful and honest with my self trying the dress on. I was in and out the store with in 20 minutes , quite simply as I knew I had found my dream dress from the second I tried it on. Thank you SO much prudence gowns Plymouth for helping me find my dream wedding dress. From the start I knew this was the shop for me, the girls via email and telephone were amazing. I travelled 2 hours to get to them and it was well worth it! Laura was soo lovely and really friendly and she made the experience so perfect and fun along with the rest of the staff both face to face and over email. I had the most amazing experience yesterday at Prudence Gowns. I entered the shop feeling slightly apprehensive and nervous (no idea why) and was instantly put at ease after Leanne, who was on reception, welcomed me, my mother in law to be and sister in law to be. We were pleased to find that she would be helping me find a perfect dress. I went in after extensively searching Plymouth and surrounding areas and seeing my dream dress on Prudence Gowns website. I tried my dream dress and 5 others and came back to the original one which I had Loved since seeing it online. Leanne was brilliant, she made me feel so at ease and added accessories to the dress. She accepted my opinions through the whole process and I was never made to feel judged or was I mistreated like some of the reviews on here say. I can honestly say I loved every moment of being in Prudence and went in with a very open mind and knew I would leave everything to the experts (as I am certainly no wedding dress expert). I am now even more excited than I was yesterday and I can’t thank Leanne enough for her guidance and advice and also for putting me into the 6 gowns, 4 veils and the hair peice I tried on! I was then given a big bottle of bubbly to celebrate with after choosing my dress which was such a thoughtful surprise. Thank you so much!

I went to prudence gowns on the search for a dress for my year 11 prom. At first I had thought that I knew exactly what I wanted and picked out all red and burgundy dresses to try on but after being disappointed after wearing them my consultant brought out blue dresses because she thought I would like them. Although I was skeptical at first I soon found “the one” and I was thrilled as it was gorgeous. She said I could purchase the sample as it fit me perfectly but I had noticed the loss of beads on the front of the dress and asked if there were any new ones. Luckily she rang up to check despite the shop closing soon and told me that there was one in stock and I am so thankful. I would highly recommend as prudence gowns has not only beautiful dresses but also amazing customer service, they really know how to make you feel special!

I went in to try a few styles of dresses on (as I'm terrible at knowing what looks good on me!), and had a great experience here! Although my wedding isn't until 2020, I wasn't made to feel foolish for looking early. Ellie was absolutely brilliant and although I could tell that they were busy I didn't feel rushed or ignored at all. Ellie was amazing and I just want to thank her for her lovely manner and service. I've visited Prudence Gowns 3 times on my quest for my dress and have always come away smiling! My first visit to a different bridal shop left me feeling like finding my weddding dress was going to be the most awkward part of the planning and I doubted feeling bridal at all. Each and every time I have visited I have felt beautiful and just as worthy as anyone else who comes through their door. Sonya cares about giving the best service possible to all her brides regardless of who they are or what size they are and that really shows! I'll always remember her frustration when she explained that when high street sizes increased, bridal sizes didn't - she genuinely wants everyone to feel their most beautiful on their day. Their range of dresses for the 'bigger' bride is amazing and just as beautiful - if not more - than the 'standard' sizes. Since my first visit the shop has expanded to be able to offer this wider range and it looks beautiful. There is so much to see and so much fun to be had! All the girls are lovely and you never feel judged - I didn't even find there was any awkwardness in the changing room! My only regret is that I won't be a Prudence Gown bride as I ended up finding my dress preloved. Despite all the work and time Sonya put into helping me, she was still happy for me when I told her the news about having my dress (The sample that I tried on in their shop was too small for me, but before ordering all my options - and the repercussions of them!! - were explained to me by at least two members of staff).

When I started looking for a wedding dress I had all sorts of ideas of what I wanted. I looked round so many shops and kept finding dresses with parts that I absolutely loved but other parts of the dress that just weren’t quite right. Eventually my Mum found a dress that had all of the different things that I had fallen in love with in other dresses, apart from straps. I showed it to Clare in the Exeter Prudence store and the advice that she gave me was amazing, I thought it would be well out of my price range to order a dress into the store and then have the alterations to add straps. We tried on others but I kept returning to the dress I had seen on the Stella York website. When Clare told me the price I was amazed that it was affordable and Clare advised me about adding straps and so we ordered it in for me to try. There were certainly tears on the day it arrived!! Having felt like I was never going to get the dress I had in my head it was just wonderful when I realised I could! Anna, who was the suggested seamstress did an absolutely wonderful job of using the same material as the dress to design some straps that looked like they had always been part of the dress. I wore my Great Aunt’s wedding tiara which went wonderfully with the pearl and sparkle detail on the front of the dress. I would definitely suggest Prudence to anyone, the service and the helpful staff made my experience so enjoyable.

Prudence Gowns - what can I say other than outstanding! I travelled to Plymouth from Northern Ireland to get my dress for my recent wedding. I had been in the area and had gone in for a look and was bowled over how helpful the staff where. There was no question that I would be travelling back for my dress. I knew the style of dress that I had wanted and after visiting many boutiques in Northern Ireland, I decided on one whilst visiting Prudence Gowns. The Staff where so helpful and made it very easy and relaxing for me to be ordering my dress from across the pond! I even ordered my bridesmaids dresses from the owner Sonya when I had told her the ones I wanted and she shipped them to me without a second thought. My biggest worry was if alterations needed completed (as I was wanting to lose some weight) and again all the staff where fab, my mum ( who also got her outfit here) and I went to Plymouth for a few days and the staff catered to our every needs and I happily got back on my flight to Belfast with my dress securely in my hand luggage ( again Prudence sorted this for me) ! I would highly highly recommend Prudence Gowns to anyone looking for their wedding dress as they really do make you feel like the most beautiful bride in the world! What can I say that sums up my experience........ I personally have loved every second of my time with Prudence Gowns and find it sad that my time is now up. Before my first visit I messaged Prudence Gowns on Facebook and chatted away to Sonya, which has not stopped. Which being a bigger lady put my mind at ease and made me feel comfortable. Throughout my first visit I loved every second and found the most stunning dress ever. I was never made to feel like I was any different from the skinny brides and the selection of dresses for the 'fuller figure' is HUGE!!!! I was made to feel like a true princess throughout!! All through the process I have had non stop support and not just about the wedding, personal things too. I have been made to feel like I am the most important person throughout. Even when I was stressing about things I was calmed down and it was all fine! I cannot recommend the team at Prudence Gowns highly enough, I think everyone that knows me, knows of my slight obsession with the shop! I cannot wait to wear my dress! Thank you!!!

I went to Prudence Gowns with absolutely no idea what sort of dress I wanted or what would suit me, but me and my friend were welcomed with such a lovely atmosphere, I knew I would definitely find something suitable. Sonya had lots of time and patience for me and quickly picked up on what I liked and didn't like. I found my dream dress on my second visit to Prudence at the designer weekend, and I was so so happy with it. Sonya sent me pictures of me in the dress and I haven't stopped looking at them since. Plus size bridal shopping can be emotionally painful and not the joyful experience you might hope for. Not at Prudence. I've now had dealings with 3 different staff members, and I've felt empowered, not judged and assisted by each one of them. I couldn't recommend them more.

I was so excited when I got engaged, but really nervous about trying on wedding dresses as it is so out of my comfort zone. I am getting married in May 2015 so I booked an appointment with Prudence Gowns via Facebook. I should never have worried about the whole experience as the staff at Prudence Gowns really put me at ease. I was amazed by the amount of choice there was in the store – being a plus size lady this was music to my ears. I found “The One” with a little bit of help from Sonya – who knew my preferences better than me! From start to finish the staff has been so welcoming and you can tell that Sonya is passionate about all her clients as she remembers you from the very first appointment until long after you pick up your gown. I recommended Prudence Gowns to my sister - who is also getting married in 2015 – as this has been the nicest experience and I wouldn’t want her to go anywhere else. Sarah was the lovely lady who helped me try on all the beautiful dresses and picked me a dress I would not of looked at on the hanger, but the consultant must of knew because it was perfect for me. I'm from Manchester and was just browsing gowns ahead of my wedding next year. I'd seen a few elsewhere that I was pondering and after trying on a few gowns here, which all had lovely features but didn't feel quite like "the one" I discovered the perfect dress in their sample sale. All it needs is a few alterations so it fits perfectly! I'm so pleased and way under my original budget too! They have a great selection of gowns and accessories to try on with them and the changing areas are private and spacious. The staff were really friendly and helpful, and in no way was I rushed or pressured into making such an important decision. I was given all the information about the dress I needed and went away and slept on it, returning the next day to try it on again and check it over (as it was an ex-sample) and then placing a deposit on the gown. This bridal boutique is a must for any bride! Everything about my experience here was head and shoulders above the 4/5 other boutiques I had been to. The boutique is beautifully laid out, the staff are so friendly and welcoming. The wedding gowns here are amazing! They have such a fantastic selection, so much more then any other boutique I had been in to. They also have a great selection of veils and accessories, they let you try all different ones to your hearts content! You are made to feel special.. this place will not disappoint!!

I ordered a half price wedding dress from Prudence Gowns that they were advertising online. I live in another part of the country so I asked if they could mail it to me which was no problem at all and the whole lot, including delivery, cost me £420. The dress is gorgeous, the service was fantastic and all at a fraction of the price it would have cost me to buy one full price somewhere else. I cannot praise Prudence Gowns highly enough, their customer service is excellent; ask for Sonya, she's so helpful and willing to help out in any way possible.

Had a lovely experience finding my dress, the lady who dealt with us was absolutely fantastic, nothing was too much bother and she made me feel very special. It was something I was weirdly quite nervous about but she was very friendly and professional. Can't reccomend enough!

I am getting in married in 2014 and thought it far too early to go find a dress, however Prudence Gowns was recommended to me by a close friend and I called Sonya to ask her thoughts. She was lovely and said it was never too early to come and try dresses on and have some fun too....how right she was! I have been to the shop 4 times already and loving it, I always feel as though its my first time with there attention to detail with every client. Yes I might change my mind in the next year but what fun I am having doing it! The payment plan is an absolute godsend too, one less thing to think about in the run up to the big day and the advise I have received has been invaluable. I have recommended Prudence Gowns to a few of my friends who are getting wed and they will be making appointments soon.....but they won't look as good as i do in my dress of course (lol). best wedding shop around I phoned and made an appointment as I didn't want to feel rushed which I never felt for the time I was there, I went after having my son so 7 weeks after having him they were so kind and helpfull not pushy at all and have a great payment plan which helps so much when you have so many other wedding bills to pay for. Staff so helpfull and there knowledge of all the dresses are fantastic they could come out with different styles that they think you will like or just mention a style and out it comes. look out for there special designer weekends and plus size ones no person too large or small everyone catered for such a great place to find your perfect dress, thanks Prudence Gowns for all your help

OMG what an amazing experience and on going I might add. Laura one of the assistants in store is a complete treasure to the company. From the minute I walked into the store I felt like a princess. I must have tried on 20 dresses!! (no joke) Laura was amazing, helping me in and out, but something I loved more was her honesty. After choosing 'THE ONE' I ordered and waited. She phoned to tell me my dress was in but unfortunately when we got it out of the packaging there was some marks in the fabric and the dress was the wrong size (although the label said it was the right size!) This was in no way the shops fault but the manu' fault. This was corrected and within one week my beautiful dress arrived. Outstanding customer service. I bought my dress in feb 2012 and now as feb 2013 arrives i'm about to have my first fitting!!! I'm so excited and so happy... This is down to an amazing shop and amazing staff... Thank you Vicky Xx

Sue was brilliant! This was my first experience in shopping for a dress and she made me feel at ease and stopped me feeling so nervous. Came out with a few dresses I love (1 inparticular 😍) and got me excited with the whole experience. There are loads of dresses to choose from and various prices to suit all budgets if you have one. You have your own room so you dont feel like you are on show for the world to see. I won a 3 piece suit through a Mckay Menswear Facebook post, I was looking at their suit options anyway for a wedding in September but it was nice to win! Despite this, Mckay's team couldn't have been more helpful.
