We have just had a one night Girly Spa Break and thoroughly enjoyed it. We had a lovely room overlooking the golf course which had tea/coffee making facilities. Robes and slippers were included. Elemis shower gel and body lotion were provided in the bathroom. Our stay included an evening meal, breakfast and afternoon tea, all of which were delicious with friendly attentive staff.
Also included in the deal was a 55/60 min treatment. I had a hot stone massage (which I cannot recommend highly enough!) and my daughter had a facial:- both of these were with the delightful Georgia, very professional and tailored to our personal requirements. Thank you.
The only reason I’m not giving full stars is because there were only two beds in the pool area where we could relax and if it were busy, we wouldn’t have been able to bag them! Plus the changing area was a little in need of updating to bring it up to spa status.
However, all in all, very enjoyable and would go again. Thank you St Mellion!

Took my little Grandson into the brasserie after his first 'swim'. Nothing to tell you if you had to order at bar or wait for table service. It is table service.
The menu has been simplified since I last went several years ago, as has the set up. Staff were thin on the ground and it took longer than expected for a bacon roll and chocolate brownie to arrive.
I did feel staff were inattentive to the point I had to go to the bar to ask where to order. It wasn't particularly busy either.

Booked a 3 bed lodge via Booking.com. Lodges only have 2 beds - management claimed they weren't aware of what Booking.com offer so we would have to pay for an extra room at the hotel, eventually agreed to let us have it when we showed the booking confirmation and made a loud fuss at reception. Just that conversation would prevent me booking again. Tv in the lodge didn't work. Decor looks as if not refurbed in 40 years and armchair seat worn out. No covid clean seal on door as most places do now. Next morning discovered shower also didn't work. Maintenance couldn't fix it so we were moved into the hotel. Rooms looking tired - grout on bathroom floor broken and mouldy, but at least shower worked. Spa facilities closed, bar with pool table closed. Staff didn't seem to want to deliver customer service. Restaurant (food and service) was the only excellent part of the stay.

Amazing lunch today thankyou to the restaurant manager and staff for making us feel so safe. It was the 1st time my mum had ventured out to eat since the start of the pandemic.
Thankyou so much.

We had such a lovely break here. Staff were lovely, food was good, comfy bed, and a lovely view from the balcony of our room. Very relaxing stay, thank you.
S. H.
Very clean. Lovely staff , great facilities. 6ft bed ! Nothing to complain about at all . Apart from drink prices maybe.
A. R.
Fantastic stay here! It was lovely, we booked last minute, they said we were lucky to get a cancellation because they’re so busy and I can see why!
We had a lovely swim in the pool in the evening, unfortunately no room in the restaurant but no problem, they gave us some phone numbers to call for takeaway and provided us with plates and cutlery.
The ladies on reception were lovely and friendly people, the hotel was super clean and the bed was amazingly comfortable.
Thank you St. Mellion!

Lovely hotel & grounds. Pool is very big. Rooms a good size. Food could be better but they do have staffing issues. Bar prices hit & miss- never the same price despite having exactly the same drinks. Quite a large difference between highest & lowest. Golf courses very busy. Staff very friendly.

What is there not to like about this resort? Stunning setting, plenty of staff (all friendly and hard working), relaxing room with super comfy Kings bed and very good food and drink. Golf societies are segregated for meals to avoid blokey behaviour and there is no queue for breakfast. A fabulous place for a break - 100% recommended!

Courses fantastic as usual. Food was lovely. Rooms great. Service quick and very good. It was our third golf trip here in 5 years and likely to become an annual trip based on how consistently good it is here

This is a beautiful hotel, did not stay here but stopped here for food. Food was great. I would love to come back and stay for a night .

We stayed at St Mellion for 2 nights 3 games of golf, loved it , golf was great both courses but the Nicklaus Course is excellent. The food was very good breakfast and evening meal and the head waiter Paul was excellent really well organised made everyone feel very welcome, thanks, we will be back for certain. Greg.

Absolutely loved this course. We played the Nicklaus course twice. The lay out is quite hilly so walking it can be exhausting. Every inch of the course is well maintained looks lovely and great to play. It’s a fairly difficult course with some tricky holes and long par 3’s. The scenery you pass changes naturally from hole to hole from wood land to lakes streams and natural rough. The greens are just a joy to play on running true and with a great accepting bounce.
Loved it. Just wish I could play here more often. Simply superb.
Golf is great

5 stars only for Georgia the superb spa therapist. What an amazing therapist - the perfect combination of professional, kind and extremely good at what she does.
Disappointed by the bar eatery. Freezing cold and every empty table was filthy, covered in sticky drink spillage and food. Walked straight back out.
Nice location though.

We were a group of 12 playing golf and to be fair arrived late on a Saturday evening. I had checked us in all in advance so actual check in went by very quickly. We were 12 blokes and should have had 6 twin rooms, but one room had a double bed and the staff had to sort that out pretty quickly. Because we arrived late we had pre ordered our food, but they said they had not received it, although I had email confirmation that my emailed food order had been received and acknowledged by a member of staff. Once the food was resolved, when it arrived it was all very good. It was quite rowdy and noisey in the restaurant area, we couldn't hear each other at the dining table, so meal time was not a particularly pleasant experience. The Nicklaus bar was much calmer and quieter. Each golfing group had been allocated tables and the evening meal was table service, but breakfast surprisingly was a buffet affair with lots of tooing and froing of people without masks. Once we had finished golf we managed to grab a table in the Nicklaus bar. It was very busy, minimal staff serving drinks so service was slow as was the food. So overall the hotel felt very chaotic and busy and a little disorganised. However the Nicklaus course remains a good test, in good condition and a challenge to any golfer I would have thought.

Just finished a 2 nights, 3 rounds of golf break (2 on the Kernow, 1 on the Nicklaus). Overall it was brilliant!
The Kernow is a good course, better than most courses I play in the Bristol area. It's a good test of golf and very scenic. If you're having a bad day, you won't play well. However, if you're playing half decent there's a good chance to score well.
The Nicklaus is by far, the best and most difficult course I have ever played. It's a great test for low handicappers and a reflective one for higher handicappers.
I played off 19 and scored 15 points on the front 9, which I was happy with seeing how difficult it was. The back 9 however? A measly 5 points. Holes 12-17, I scored 0 points. I wouldn't say the back 9 is any harder, however after a few poor holes it quickly goes from being tough but enjoyable, to wanting to cry to your mum.
The Nicklaus will send you in to the darkest corners of your mind and make you stare at yourself in a mirror. This isn't bad though. It's a tough course and though you may not be playing your best, you understand a lot of it is out of your control.
I think every hole had fairways and greens with bunkers, water and trees defending it to the death. The fairways are narrow on most holes, with hazards and out of bounds either side. The first cut rough is playable, but the rest of it is very long, you'll be happy to get it out at all!
Despite having one of the most intense battles you've ever faced with a beast, you'll find yourself pausing for moments in awe. The beast is beautiful. Rolling hills, lush bushes, glistening rivers, dense woodland and busting wildlife. Even if only for a few seconds, you feel at peace. The golf doesn't matter. You're in an breath takingly beautiful place, playing a game you love deeply. You remember why you came in the first place.
The hotel is good, about what you'd expect for a 4 star. Decently decorated rooms. Very clean. Friendly staff. Pretty good food.
I'd 100% recommend going here. In fact, if you're a golfer under a 30 handicap you'd be quite daft not to try the Nicklaus.
Cheers.
A. R.
Both courses are incredible and very well kept to a top standard (as you would expect).
Staff were all very helpful and friendly and guests too...
I would definitely play the courses and stay again.
Great few days....

Attended for a complimentary round prior to bringing 56 golfers back in Oct 21 for a society golf tour.
Tour has been booked via Julie Gray who has been accommodating in relation to the golf and the accommodation. Also spoke to the retail manager Connor Jenkins who has been very helpful in relation to our prize table over the 3 days.
The main car parks were busy the closer you were to the main reception/pro shop. The car park on the right as you enter the resort did have plenty of space but we had to drive back to that having found no spaces in the other ones. Believe better signage on the car parks would be advantageous.
We had a bacon roll and coffee in Studio 18 prior to the round and then tee'd off on the Nicklaus Course.
What an excellent course. However take a supply of balls as you may loose a few unless you are accurate off of the tee 😉.
You could leave your driver in the bag until the fairways open up on 16th/17th and 18th.
There wasn't one bad hole on the course and the fairways were shielded by trees on the majority of holes. Greens quick and they were in excellent condition.
18th was a great finish with water to left of the green, in front of the accommodation and Nicklaus Bar, so a crowd may gather to watch you finish.
No waiting time during the round, a smooth round of golf which we completed in our 4ball in just over 4 hours.
We finished the day with a drink in the Nicklaus bar enjoying the sunshine.
Now looking forward to our tour in a few weeks. 🏌️♂️⛳

Friendly and welcoming staff. Golf on signature course was excellent. Second day on Kernow course was a bit busy but Third day on Kernow course was terrible and ruined by lack of marshalling. Nobody sorting the slow play a disappointing end to a fantastic weekend.
k. m.
Inspection trip for potential future visit.
Looks very inviting especially the Championship Nicklaus course. Friendly welcome in pro shop - well stocked. Hotel rooms overlooking 18th green
S. P.
It's a really nice place to go I hope we go there again, their pool looks good but I didn't get a chance to use it.
A. L.
Fabulous setting for weddings, afternoon tea, golf and just about anything in between. Really looked after by the staff for my daughter in laws to be hen day. Fabulous spa facilities too
D. g.
Absolutely worth a visit amazing set up.. Play both courses, you won't be disappointed, I visit at least once a year, it's so good!!!
A. L.
Attended my daughters friends birthday party we used the pool and the food was lovely had a fab time staff really helpful
A. J.
Tremendous weekend, superb courses especially the Nicklaus Course and much thanks to the senior pro for sorting us out to play the Nicklaus course after such hideous weather.... Love the place
A. C.
A mecca for anyone who loves golf. Two fantastic courses, and so much more. Not the cheapest golf break, but boy, it's is so worth it. Brilliant
D. G.
Great value hotel with very good facilities. Staff are really friendly and the food is great.
S. J.
It should be so much better, but its just not there and hasn't been for some time.
Both golf courses are in good shape, the Nicolas course is beautiful but very tough. Rooms are becoming dated with bathrooms looking very tired. The biggest issue was the lack of staff. The ones that are there are doing their best ande generally friendly and helpful, but 3 days in a row after completing a round of golf in 30 degree sunshine we waited 45 mins - 60 mins for a drink! This continued through most of the 3 days we were there with many many people complaining about the same issue. May be better now you are allowed to go to the bar. Food was ok, but nothing special. hoping for an improvement in the future, but feel its unlikely that we will return to find out.
S. l.
Beautiful facilities. Nice friendly people. Recommended.
M. C.
Didn't stay at the hotel, some manning issues post COVID and dare I say it BREXIT!
...There I said it!
Golf course was a stunner and so so tough!
S. H.
2 things for me stand out with my experience over the weekend just gone.
1) Nicholas course is amazing..... I kept Getting my camera out on every hole !!
Played the kernow course first which was also a very good course. Would recommend playing them that way round as the Nicholas spoils you !!
Nicholas although tight is a definite must play. Condition of course was excellent and staff were very welcoming and extremely accomodating and helpful.
2) staff in general, everyone we came across were very attentive and helpful. Service was excellent and everyone went out if there way to make sure we had a great time.
The food in general although limited choice was excellent. I would definitely recommend a trip to st Mellion.
P. C.
Arrived @ St.Mellion Friday afternoon check in staff at reception were excellent ALL weekend (we left today, Monday)....
Golf staff also excellent, both helpful & polite. Due to the wonderfully high temperatures there was a run on the cold drinks chiller in the pro shop, which quickly ran out and couldn't be restocked due to only one member of staff on duty at time.....
Twin room was very comfortable, with shower over a P shaped bath in the ensuites, with the usual tea/coffee making, hair dryer, ironing facilities available in rooms. Our room was on the even numbered side of the accommodation which afforded us excellent views over the approaches, alongside the 18th fairway and green on the Nicklaus course, as well as more more distant views of the surrounding countryside.
The signature Nicklaus course played on the first two days of our stay is an extremely stern test of any golfers ability regardless of handicap, and although buggies are available for use, they cannot be driven off the cart paths, which still meant a trek across the fairways and back to play each shot. However they were a godsend when it came to traversing the steep and long walks between the previous green and next tee.
3rd day played on the Kernow course which is a much shorter course more suited to the average club golfer. Where driver off the tee was not always the best option. A handful of short but very different par 3's. On the Kernow course buggies could roam freely across fairways, and were only excluded from certain defined areas around each of greens. These were clearly displayed on the the GPS screen on each buggy. Again they were a godsend when negotiating some o the steep inclines between greens and tees
Both courses were in excellent condition, with some very picturesque views from tee to green. The carpet like fairways and greens leave you with no excuses for errant strokes.
At the time of our visit there were some issues regarding the length of time it took the bar staff to attend the tables, take food & drink orders, and then deliver those orders to the relevant tables. This may have been due to COVID-19 restriction issues, in place at the time. However a wait of nearly 20-30mins to receive a round of drinks/food orders was not uncommon during our stay.
On the whole from the golf side things I'd recommend St Mellion Golf resort to others, and I'm looking forward to visiting again but, perhaps play only one round on the Nicklaus course and two on the Kernow.
Hopefully post COVID-19 the food & beverages service will be much improved.
I would rate the two golf courses as 10/10
The accommodation & standard of food as 9/10
The post round drinks/food table service as 2/10
Hopefully when I return in the future the shortcomings will have been ironed out
M. S.
Nice place . Clean . Bar staff not up to speed yet after lockdown but pleasant. But a £9 for a small glass of red wine won't be a regular visitor
A. V.
Attended a wedding here, the setup of the wedding was amazing, real quality. Food above expected. Well done team for producing a great venue for a wedding.
M. H.
Evening front desk staff need more training. Waited 10 mins to check-in while 2 were behind their screens without a word of welcome or any word at all. Very poor customer service. They also didn't give any advice on how to find the rooms and they couldn't issue us with a second room access card. Restaurant food was ok.
D. H.
Staff were very helpful and despite the restrictions very efficient and friendly. Hotel is starting to look tired. Sealant around the bath has 1 inch gap when filled. Floorboards creak excessively and we were o on the top floor. Food good lunch and breakfast average evening meal in bland setting.
On the golf side the starters on both courses were excellent. Nicklaus course extremely wet but a fabulous looking course without a bad hole, the worse being a short par 3 towards end of the front nine. An outstanding golf course, very tough especially in the wet with every bad shot punished and I am a 9 handicap. Some long walks between holes and a good walk. Greens excellent.
Kernow a wonderful quirky course with lots of tempting risk and reward par 4s and great par 3s. Only 5300 yards but cleverly fitted In and good rest from Nicklaus would thoroughly recommend the golf courses. Loved the golf.
G. T.
Great facilities and very helpfully staff.
D. V.
Stayed here recently. Property is well designed, staff are very friendly (And this is why they get 3 stars). We got disabled room without a choice. Bathroom was mouldy. Breakfast was "included" but everything was to be paid extra?! In the end we opted for "continental" which comprised of 1 (rotten" banana, apple and mandarin. All served in a soup bowl?!
Substandard especially considering other properties we stayed in Devon and Cornwall
Advice to management: you have great property, fantastic staff but need to up your game
M. G.
fantastic course and hotel...food was very good. Some of the staff were brilliant and very attentive..
M. F.
We stayed as a family of 4 in one of the lodges and it has been one of our favourite holiday ever. The members of staff were friendly and professional, the mattresses were incredibly comfortable and the lodges really spacious (even just having one bedroom) and the kitchen very well equipped. Brilliant value for money!
A. P.
Great place nice hotel and a very difficult golf course but you have to play it
E. J. H.
Stayed in one of their lodges with our American friends. The lodge was incredible value for the weeks stay. Nothing was lacking, all the amenities for a very comfortable stay and this was the second week of January. The restaurants were excellent top quality and variety of menus. The staff in all departments were very friendly helpful and easy to converse with. All set in an incredible golfing and countryside. Very, very impressed. Many Thanks to all.
D. N.
Fabulous place, our room was spacious with lovely views of the golf course. Had a delicious meal in the bar area during the evening and an equally delicious breakfast. The facilities are very good, two pools, spa, hairdressing etc. The staff were attentive and delightful. Loads of free parking.
G. S.
Golf courses very hard, accommodation adequate, restaurant good, bar understaffed with so many waiting to be served.
C. R.
Nice place, but over priced and under staffed. Room bounces when people run in the corridor outside
J. B.
Absolutely loved my stay here. The staff had so much time for you and they left us wanting for nothing. Rooms were amazing and the view over the balcony of the golf course was amazing. Golf courses were immaculate and very challenging even from the forward tees. The food was incredible. Can't speak highly enough of this place.
S. W.
Rooms were clean but nothing special. Food was edible but bland. Courses were tight and not easy to play.
D. S. D. G.
Amazing resort and the best bar with some of the best prssented and best tasting cocktails I've ever had.
S. B.
The staff worked very hard during this difficult covid guide lines. The Room was average at the best. The hotel is getting dated. Stayed as a golf weekend. Heard so much about the Nicklaus course. To be truthful found it very average, tired, unloved and needed more upkeep. The greens were very woolly and slow.. No wow factor which was a great shame.
B.
I’ve stayed in the rooms with no issue, been to weddings and a golf tournament. It’s a great asset to the are. Expect high prices on all offerings, a well kitted gym and small spa area are well used and maintained. Staff are treated poorly across the board and once you get talking to staff they explain how bad this can be. Minimum wages and maximum hours. The bar is costly and so is the food.
R. P.
An excellent venue for golf and all sports. The gym has undergone a totally redesign including ventilation and ultra violet lighting to ensure it is 120% Civid compliant. Staff are always helpful with a smile on their face.
M. G.
Two nights at St Mellion had a great time. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent. Hotel was clean and the facilities were very good. Had a round of golf on the JN course which was in very good shape considering the weather we have had. Some wonderful holes and the views were terrific...... pity about my golf.
C. W.
Great 2 nights and 3 days golf. They really helped with golf tee times being moved over a storm weekend. Hotel clean and good rooms for resort Hotel. Food hit and miss. Firs night poor second night great, but I guess covid makes it difficult.
p. p.
Courtious and very pleasant staff, from the pro shop to the starter guys and the bar, under difficult covid circumstances and the members we spoke to were very friendly, the only niggle was poor signage on the Nicholas course.
K. B.
Stayed here a few days ago and the resort location and views are amazing everything is within commutable ( driving distance) however a few improvements could be made like:
1. Beds ( we asked for a double bed as we were couples, however it was two single beds put together to make a double). My advise is that if you are advertising for a Double bed please do not put two singles together. If you can't get a double bed then don't advertise it.
2. Mattresses are very springy - not that comfortable ( maybe its just me being picky ).
3. The cleaning staff are not the best i stayed there for 3 night and everytimewe came back our beds were nicely made however empty bottles had not been picked up, Tables where not wiped down and as a courtesy there should be 1 or two water bottles left in the room as bottles are sealed - even in this COVID-19 situation, something that is sealed can be kept in the room and considered safe.
The staff are very polite and helpful. I did enjoy my stay.
K. M.
Were in desperate need of a room for the night. Checked us in on very short notice with no issues, for which we were greatful. Friendly staff however the resort itself is quite dated and felt old-fashioned. The target demographic for this place appears to be retired folks, so we felt a bit out of place. Overall we needed a bed for the night and parking for the car, we got these two things, slept, and left. Were there for less than 12hrs total.
L. C.
Nicklaus course is simply fantastic and in great condition. A real test of skill. The Kernow course is more forgiving but still a great course and in great nick. We absolutely love playing golf here
N. W.
Really enjoyed the hotel, although the pool was closed due to covid. The staff in the restaurant where especially great, one gentleman (I didn't catch his name) was amazing with my daughter throughout the whole meal, even asking the Cheff to make a pizza for my daughter that wasn't on the menu, he effortlessly spoke to her and made conversation which she loved (she is only 4) it made the evening to be honest. Would return 100%. The grounds to this hotel where beautiful, we enjoyed a small walk around in the sun. Thankyou.
T. K.
Played golf on Jack Nicklaus course, an amazing experience - course was in great condition and greens were best I have ever played on, what a day top class
J. G.
Would benefit from housing seperate golf clubhouse away from main hotel building to mitigate disruption to other guests from poorly behaved golf guests.
S. D.
Both courses were very wet after days of rain but still a challenging yest of golf . Hotel and all staff were excellent and our golf break was of very good value. Good adherence to COVID compliance
F. F.
The Nicklaus course is simply stunning. Yes, It is challenging and not suited to a new/developing golfer, but you don't need to be good at golf to appreciate just how good this course is. Tight and tricky in places, but rewarding of good shots esp into the picturesque greens. The course holds up incredibly well in the winter as well. Will be very sad when my membership deal ends as could never afford it normally.
We have stayed at the hotel in the past and found that to be fine.
S. F.
A lovely place. Started with a great welcome at reception, where the facilities were explained and I was even shown to my room (that's the first time that's happened to me).
A lovely, good sized room, which was tastefully decorated, clean and well maintained.
Got free use of the leisure facilities. A good sized gym with a good selection of machines and free weights, plus two pools, one for serious swimming and one for relaxing. Again, all well maintained.
My only grumble is the signage outside. I found it difficult to find the car park as I arrived in the dark and the signs all have small, understated written and are unlit.
k. l.
Myself and my husband booked a 2 night weekend with At Mellion hotel, and it didn't disappoint. The staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. One member of staff in particular Lucas, the bar man, was so lovely, both myself and my husband found him to be extremely helpful with anything we needed and added to our stay being great. We had beautiful views from our balcony of the golf links. We will definitely book again. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and recommend this place.
P. -.
This was a lovely hotel very clean and tidy. The staff were very polite and helpful. The standard of the room was excellent very modern. It was excellent value for Money and the breakfast was great. I will be staying there again.
B. T.
We had our year end function there and I found it rather disappointing. It felt as if they were happy to book more people than they could handle. There was no parking left outside in car park, and our evening function was an hour and half late as they had booked another Christmas function in for the same night before ours. The staff were friendly and apologetic, but we just kept being told they were very busy.
B. “. S.
I stayed here with a friend for an Anatomy Lab Live event. As the resort has a spa and leisure facilities we decided to head up earlier to make the most of our time. Check in time is from 3 o'clock but even though we arrived at half 1 our room was ready and we could check in and put our bags in the room before heading off to the No18 restaurant on site for a spot of lunch. We were served promptly by a pleasant waitress and the food was of a good quality, but not too filling before our swim and spa. We were provided towels when we signed in and there are spacious lockers in the changing rooms. The facilities are clean with private cubicles and hair dryers provided. The swimming costume drier is a very useful gadget! Once back in our room we admired our view out on to the golf course from our decking, and squealed with delight at finding the robes and slippers in the wardrobe! There is a good range of complimentary drinks, including hot chocolate which was perfect for me as I don't drink tea or coffee. The bath and shower is nice and spacious, though the shower itself was a little disappointing. It did the job though so not much to complain about! We hadn't booked breakfast for the morning, but it wasn't a problem, and we were soon taking advantage of the all you can eat breakfast buffet, which has a really good choice of both cooked and continental options. It is cheaper if you book breakfast with your room, but I've paid more for less in other places. All in all we really enjoyed our overnight stay and are looking to return in the future.
M. C.
Friendly, helpful staff, both in the hotel and on the course, played two rounds of golf on each of the courses, both kept to an excellent standard. Food in the restaurant in the evening was nice, and buffet style breakfast as you might expect. Rooms are comfortable. Did not use the spa facilities (ran out of time) but they looked good, envious of those who used the pool.
W. K.
I loved location, the size of the superior rooms and the view. You can enjoy real tranquility. There is a spa, pool, steam bath, sauna, jacuzzi. The hotel seems a bit run down, and I was quite disappointed that smoking on the balcony is not allowed. Another thing that was annoying is the floor. It makes a lot of noise,as when you walk on old wooden beams that are going to fall apart any moment. The staff were very friendly. Overall price and comfort deserve 4 stars.
L. S.
Visited as a spa day deal. The place is very attractive and set in beautiful countryside (not that we could see much in the rain that day). The staff were all smartly dressed, friendly and welcoming. The facilities were kept in very good order and the bar prices were fair. I feel a bit unkind to give the place less that 4 or 5 stars but I bought the package with spa retreat in mind, picturing a very serene scene and the place was very busy. It didn't feel very spa-y, a bit more high end leasure centre. We felt a little awkward in our robes. If visiting for any other reason I'm sure I'd be giving the place 5 stars all round. Massages were excellent.
J. B.
The staff are always helpful, friendly and welcoming as soon as you walk through the main door. The place is always clean, tidy and well maintained. The pool and gym had great facilities and is ideal for children and adults.

Stayed here attending a wedding locally. Our room was a delight. We booked a suite & I would highly recommend doing so. Separate sitting/dining area, enormous bathroom with raised bath, separate shower & his & hers sinks. King sized bed in large bedroom. Two balconies with superb views over golf course.
We were told the a la carte restaurant was closed 4 refurbishment.... no signs of any work being done & a local source told us it had been closed for ages & there were no plans to 're open, felt a little misled. We had drinks in the bar, the staff pleasant enough but extremely inexperienced. No knowledge of wine, we were told by bar staff that she didnt drink the stuff so why would she know about it? A gin order was incorrect but rectified quickly. We ate in the bistro & the food was very good.
Breakfast however was a disappointment. Orders wrong, food cold & not particularly pleasant. Staff again inexperienced hence wrong orders.
The next point isn't the hotels fault but the floor boards throughout the building are so noisy, you would think you were in an old building.
The pool area family friendly & used by locals.
All in all an adequate hotel.
J. C.
Glorious coarse glorious weather wonderful time
J. R.
Very tired decor. Not a 4 star hotel. Breakfast buffet not worth £13.50 and ordering off the a la carte breakfast menu was slow. First order was wrong. 2 poached eggs on toast arrived with unbuttered toast. First attempt was cold second attempt was under cooked so as to have raw whites.
Golf course was lovely and a delight to play both courses. Spa facilities were good but steam room was far too hot and sauna was out of action.
The restaurant was nice but a change of menu occasionally would have been nice.
Lots of confusion over the bill payment which took ages to sort.
A nice break but the highlight was definitely the golf.
S. G.
Fantastic clean hotel. Rooms are spacious and well provided for. Staff are friendly and professional. Adequate parking. Sports facilities are great with good changing rooms. Breakfast is 5 star and you can have what you want, Full English or Continental..or mixed if you want! With no questions asked. Fully recommended.

Good choice of pools for children and toddlers and a good standard size pool for general swimming. Sauna, jacuzzi and Steam room by the pool. Swimming equipment and clothing available to purchase. Good sized quality restaurant with a varied menu. Very good golfing facilities also at this establishment with great staff all round.

Quite disappointed by this experience. Located in a very nice part of Cornwall; Our room was ok with a nice view on the golf course but overall the resort felt completely outdated: Old and disgusting carpets in the hall needs to be changed urgently, very basic bathrooms, sound isolation close to zero... Finally the young ladies at the front desk were not eager to help with anything (how can you not now if urgent laundry is possible in your hotel?).
C. D.
Disappointed overall - staff are great, rooms comfortable although the building has ridiculously creaky floors. Food good. The real disappointment was the pool and spa complex we were expecting luxury but it is more like a public swimming baths. It is showing its age, cold changing rooms 1 tiny jacuzzi. Gym was dated and shoddy. Small steam room and sauna. If you are expecting David Lloyd, Bannatynes style or better then you will be disappointed.
L.
Well organised for covd so felt safe .
Beautiful surroundings.
We did an overnight stay so pre booked our evening meal and what time we wanted breakfast, both meals were lovely.
Lovely area to visit .
M. L.
I've been to the venue a few times and always had good experiences however recently I've been disappointed.
My lunch was forgotten about and I had no tea vouchers in my welcome pack.
I know they have had since staff changes recently so may be a settling in period is required.
J. B.
Lovely setting weather very warm for that time of the year, challenging golf course long walks between tee's, hotel rooms overlooking golf course very clean, staff very friendly, food good. There's something for a non golfer in the area to visit. Check before you go
V. H.
Great golf courses but the Hotel staff were only interested in the large business customers
J. J.
Good facilities, pool is lovely and warm. Perfect for little ones!
Unfortunately I had to deduct a star as the lift is so so tiny, I can JUST fit my buggy in the lift with me squidged in the end! (buggy is an icandy peach so not particularly big) double buggies / larger wheelchairs certainly would not fit!
t. j.
It was a really good experience. Really a big place to stay with surrounded by a big golf court. Vast area i would say and easily reachable. You can see from morning to evening all the time busy outside with people playing golf and other health club activities. I would suggest a good place to stay for a single day.
k. h.
After our camping trip was cut short due to bad weather (tent was literally torn apart), we sought sanctuary at St Mellion. We managed to get a great last minute deal on a suite overlooking the 18th! I also managed to get a good deal on 18 holes, playing the Jack Nicklaus course. The golf staff were fantastic, sorting my hire equipment and even letting me take my 5 year old out for his first golf experience! Food was good, fantastic buffet breakfast. Also some good on site facilities including gym and indoor pool. Would recommend, although take plenty of golf balls!
C. T.
Nice hotel with Golf course and Spa. The rooms are comfortable and spaces too. Really friendly and polite staff and the food was good too. Especially the Diablo Pizza. Because of work I'll be staying there a lot I suspect and I'm looking forward to my next visit already 😊
S. D.
A great week. Top food top staff top ⛳ top swimming 🏊♂️
A. A.
I stayed a night in what I can only describe by a fabulous hotel. From the moment I was on the approach road to the entrance, everything oozed quality. A very friendly lady on reception was only too happy to show me personally where I needed to go to reach the bedrooms, and some of the views are stunning. I'll definitely stay here again when next in Cornwall!
A. D.
Visited for a golf break. All the staff in the hotel bar and pro shop were very friendly and helpful. I played the Nicklaus Course all 3 days which was in very good condition. Only minus point was lack of staff in the bar at peak times and if you use a buggy you have to keep to the paths unless you have a blue badge or doctors letter. Overall it would be 4.5 stars.
E. S.
Great stay. beautiful setting in the golf course with the majority of rooms overlooking the course. Rooms are good, clean, nice powerful showers. Plenty of bars and breakfast usual stuff. Will stay there again soon.
A. T.
This is the second time we stayed here this year. I have to say I love the place apart from one or two niggles, which is why four not five stars on my part. Firstly the good bits: Well appointed rooms which are mostly pretty well maintained and clean. Secondly the grounds are beautiful, and views across surrounding countryside are excellent. There are some lovely walks around the site. Thirdly food is lovely and in terms of booze there's a fair range on offer. However, the negatives start with boozeprices which are astronomical! Second downside is that one of the reading lights in ok room was not working, and whilst on the subject of rooms, the third downside is the noisy air conditioning!
Overall, pretty good!
J. P.
Great golf and facilities. However service left a little to be desired at times (I think they need more staff). Inconsistency at the dining room meant food was great one day but absolutely atrocious the next. This is a shame as the resort could have been much better with some simple changes.
T. S.
Exceptional staff, fantastic food cooked to perfection and presented beautifully.great hotel. The staff really made our stay exceptional.
Highly recommended.
S. E.
Mainly a golf resort but has an excellent gym with a good variety of machines and a large separate free weights area, including punch bag. Located in open countryside with good views and no traffic noise. Meals and drinks reasonably priced
B.
When I stayed at the hotel a few months ago, the service, beds, room cleanliness and the breakfast were all very nice. The reception were helpful when recommending local places to visit. Overall, it was a very enjoyable stay 👍.
D. M.
Great result, staff and facilities. Golf courses are fantastic as well with very tricky to manage Greens. Always a lot of fun and good to get yourself frustrated with a game of golf.
S. W.
First visit for grandson's birthday pool and party. Lovely attentive and patient staff. Excellent facilities. The children and adults all had a good time. Would recommend for this purpose at least.
C. B.
I use st mellion for keeping fit. The gym is a good size, however some of the equipment needs updating. I usually go to the classes on an evening as am on peak membership. The instructors are amazing and help motivate you. The facilities are good and I would recommend for a local health club
S. C.
What a fantastic place this was,the courses are outstanding, tough, and the greens are super. A two thumbs up from me .
S.
Four star??? Maybe decades ago! The location is great, staff is nice but some of them are not very professional. The food was nice, portions are small. We would not stay here again.
J. P.
Absolutely great venue. Great facilities, great golf courses, nice accommodation. The staff are really friendly and cheerful and do everything they can to help and make your stay a pleasant one.
Highly recommended. Would love to go back.
c. a.
menu changed for lunch time. need a bit more choice. changing area for the pool is terrible no seats to sit and dry your hair not enough dressing table space, should be a separate room for family's. showers are disgusting!! mould and dark do not appear to be very clean. needs a shelf to put bottles in and should also PROVIDE soap shampoo and conditioner like other first class country clubs do. rather disappointed
C. L.
I attended St Mellion Resort to go for a swim with my partner, her sister and our niece. The pool area was clean and well attended by life guards. We also stopped in the brasserie for a coffee and snack, all the staff could not have been any more welcoming.
A. R.
The staff were brilliant, very helpful but one chef not as good as the other (breakfast and evening meal). Restaurant could do with a deep clean but, covid times, dealing well.
r. g.
Great resort and golf courses, we were a bit unlucky as we visited in October 2017 and the fairways had a lot of sand on them to help drainage. Food in the hotel was good and a good atmosphere in the sports bar afterwards. Will be backM
M. R.
Lovely food lovely gym lovely place
C. P.
Light lunch good. Stopped for light lunch. Friendly service.
Good food but not inexpensive. Ordered 175ml wine and was short changed as was lower than the measure line. However quickly remedied when pointed out.
G. H.
Here for a wedding reception which was great. Very friendly and helpful staff. Stayed in a family lodge as told we had to as a room wouldnt be suitable but found out other guest in same family scenario had a hotel room so was annoyed we had to fork out more for a lodge when a room could have been sufficient. The lodge itself, whilst spacious, was like going back to something from the 80s. Very old fashioned interior but comfortable enough. Fine for a wedding stop over but wouldnt have been happy had it been for a weeks holiday. Didnt have a chance to use spa or pool or other facilities, but food was nice both night before and for the wedding.
S. W.
Was at the resort to use the leisure centre facilities. Facilities were good but had to walk a fair distance from the car park. It would have been fine for just me but I had bags and a baby to carry too!
d. d.
Played golf and I must say what an amazing course the Nicklaus is. Very challenging and unforgiving. All aspects of the course (greens, fairways, tee boxes) in tip top condition. Staff very friendly and helpful. Will be returning to better my score !
D. L.
Although I was only there for a short time, this is a wonderful country club style establishment. The facilities are expansive, clean and very well maintained. Everything I experienced was top quality but I did not experience enough of the place to give a more thorough review but from what I did see it feels highly recommendable.
K. K.
Went for dinner tonight with family. The food was excellent and the staff were amazing, so friendly and attentive. Will definitely be returning very soon.
T. P.
Great people great place good food 👍
K. K.
We were looking for accommodation close to our friends and this certainly fitted the bill - we stayed in one of the lodges - they were advertised as clean and comfortable and they certainly were and so lovely and quiet too. This was our second stay here, we'd love to come back
D. W.
We stayed at the hotel for two nights - we picked it as we needed to be able to check in at midnight. The air conditioning whistled all night on the first night, even though we turned it off. This made it difficult to sleep. The next day we asked to be moved to another room but they assured us that they would have it fixed. When we came back that evening it was still whistling. They reluctantly moved us to a nearby room but it was just as bad. I don't know if it was just the 2nd floor rooms or even just our side of the corridor, but it wasn't the peaceful break we were hoping for. Staff were pleasant and (eventually) helpful.
I wouldn't recommend it unless you sleep like a log, and even then... For the price i would prefer a travelodge. Breakfast was good though
More generally, it's well located but tired. Tiled floor in the bathroom all loose and sharp.
L. J.
This is a fantastic course. Definitely one not to be missed with every hole having distinct features. The front 9 espocally make full use of the natural landscape providing challenges that are interwoven into the beautiful scenery. The back 9 feels a little more landscaped but no less challenging.
P. S.
The Nicklaus Course is fantastic and I've loved it for years. Went down last weekend. Sales girls booked us lovely rooms for our overnight with 36 on the main course.
Unfortunately it rained and rained and the course flooded. Of our 36 holes booked, we only got to play 9.
Staff at reception just shrugged their shoulders and charged me for the lot.
That was very dissapointing.
G. R.
Great venue one very tough course and one nice course great setting worth the visit and nice hotel. Pro shop is very well stocked with quality gear. Breakfast is good and pool and spa facilities are great for non golfers
S. M.
Booked 3 nights in March. The rooms are minimal and very travel lodge. I think this hotel was built on the cheap and shows it. The staff were great and helpfull ( thank god ) This made the stay bearable ! The pool & spa are very public accessible, so don't excpect a quiet time there!
The menu in the Bewdern Brasserie is just like your local pub chain and needs updating, as does the quality of the food..... Poor. The golf courses are great to play and the pro shop is very helpful and friendly, as are the course marshalls.
Play the golf, stay somewhere else.
o. o.
Amazing staff, brilliant atmosphere. Only stayed for a weekend but the stay was very nice. Very calm and very chilled out place to stay. Would definitely stay again and again.
R. K.
Beautiful resort and very friendly staff. Have good safety procedures in place in light of covid-19. Highly recommended the vegetarian breakfast.
C. P.
I attended with my partner for a wedding fayre. The venue is easy to find, not too far away from Plymouth, with lots of parking available. The venue itself is very high quality and the staff are friendly and approachable. My only criticism is that we couldn't find a baby changing facility on the main floor, but it may have been us simply not seeing it - there was one downstairs anyway so no issue
M. W.
Golf courses, breakfast and accommodation great. Shame the evening meal was a let down. Small portions, asked for an extra bread roll and told we had to pay for it.
C. L.
GOLF COURSE REVIEW ONLY - Excellent course which will test the best players. Very tight fairways with danger on most holes provides a stern test. All possible hazards are here from mature trees to lakes and ditches. When the wind picks up, some holes become very long. Brilliantly maintained by green keepers and is a pleasure to play.
R. D.
Everything you want from a hotel, customer service was friendly and attentive. Rooms were immaculate and the food was fantastic. We will be back. Thank you
P.
Needs a revamp. Outdated rooms. Food and service was very good. Had an issue with our room and the issue was fixed right away with a sincerest apology and a gift left in our room. I would recommend going for the service alone
P. H.
Chose St Mellion for a short break not for golf, although the courses were in great condition. The rooms were really comfortable with a kingsize bed and a ensuite bathroom with a generous bath, the leisure centre is impressive with a three pools steam and sauna as well as a good size hot tub. The food is good and the restaurant is clean. All in all a very relaxing break.
L. F.
Lovely room, the spa and the gym had everything I wanted. I really enjoyed staying there, sadly it was only for one night!
N. H.
Good location and facilities. Very quiet
G. C.
We have work meetings at st million regularly. And it's a nice place to go, food and staff arel very good and helpful. Had my daughters wedding there over 10years a go and I would recommend the place.
P. G.
Recent long weekend break was just the ticket. Fantastic service all round. Worth every penny. Can't wait to visit again.
J. A.
Nice to visit good spa and gym facilities also has a pool. We had breakfast there it was good but could do with a big better presentation when displaying the food .
A. W.
Good value spa break, food was excellent but service slow in areas although all staff friendly. Parts of hotel now looking very tired.
P. S.
Really enjoyed our stay, the restaurant was nice, good food and reasonably priced. The pool, steam room, sauna and hot tube wear great. The room was nice and staff were friendly
S. B.
Kernow course in great condition, very friendly at golf reception, everything seemed Covid friendly. Just wish my golf was better!
p.
Lovely food .. Great service
P. K.
Very popular. Well organised for food & drinks. Very pleasant waiting staff came to the tables, and tables were thoroughly cleaned between customers.
B. H.
Really nice Golf resort, excellent golf courses. Staff very friendly and polite, hotel rooms excellent, only criticism was the breakfast with lack of choice with the cooked food
M. V.
Wow, amazing location, food was excellent, the staff very attentive.
M. R.
We were on a golf break. Really good value, played both courses which were amazing. Nice rooms, great dinner and a really good breakfast. Will be back again.
A. R.
Clean, tidy and lots to do. The leisure facilities are fantastic and staff are friendly and accommodating. The food in the restaurant is good too, and they have Staropramen on tap.
M. D.
Great place. The food if very good.start,1 dinner , cheese board 2. Red win 2.port 2. £ 116 can't beat it....and the pool bril...going back Jan 20....
S. M.
Food was very good, felt like they were short staffed for the amount of people attending. 1 person in the bar on their own, doing the best they could, but could have done with a second person. When the main course came out, everyone had finished before they brought out the plate of vegetables.
K. B.
St Melion is just over the Cornish border, it's easy to find easy to get to.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, the barstaff warm and friendly as well.
The rooms are comfy, clean and the shower rips the skin off! Very nice if you like that sort of thing (I do).
The Kernow course is brilliant, I'll update the review once I've played the Nicholas course.
n. m.
Since covid, it is all a bit chaos, not used to table service, consequently food orders are all over the place. Staff try their best. Lots of facilities unavailable.
S. B.
Best courses best greens all year round. Great pro shop and staff. What more do yo want?. Oh yes best weather.
R. B.
A delightful hotel with super staff. Location is great, golf courses superb. Perhaps here and there you can see signs of age creeping in, but overall excellent value for money.
B. S.
The only thing that let this hotel down is the fact that they have no walk in showers and cheap polyester duvets. Great chef.
G. V.
Great location, good food, good golf
S. M.
I had my wedding here a few weeks ago stayed for two nights such lovely staff so helpful welcoming and friendly, they have a swimming pool, hot tub and sauna which u can still use after checking out of your room well worth a visit, great value for money.
A. M.
Very nice place I used the pool facilities. Staff were friendly and helpful. Very well presented and worth a try.
L. D.
Bedroom was lovely and big but the bathroom let the room down as the shower was a bit lack luster and just sprayed straight ahead and the plug didn't work in the bath and the pressure on the sink is high pressure so if you haven't used them you can have a fully clothed wash, the food was lovely but it didn't have anywhere to really relax if you don't want to be around children
B. T.
Played a round of golf as a guest of a member. Course was in good condition, friendly staff and easy to book in. We had a problem with our first buggy but they quickly swapped it for a new one.
T. S.
Great place for a gold break. The Nicklaus course is one of the best in the region a real test but really only suitable for low handicap players. Take plenty of balls.
M. P.
Staff are friendly, service is good and quick. Rooms are clean and tidy and all facilities are good! Gym, swimming pool and golf. Food here is also very nice!
J. B.
Been staying here for a week now at St Mellion.been impressed with the staff and service they are so friendly and accomodating.nice Sunday lunch when we arrived and been having breakfast, lunch and Dinner in Number 18 restaurant very good. I'm a keen golfer I've played on both Nicklaus and Kernow courses and they are always in good condition.Spa and pool very good as well.
m. L.
It's a beautiful place the lodges are surrounded by trees and bushes. The hotel food is delicious very helpful and polite staff. The lodges are excellent everything you can think of.
A. A.
Loved it here. We had a gorgeous room. Food in the evening was lovely at Number 18 restaurant.
Health and fitness club was great.
S. G.
Peaceful but lacks atmosphere. Getting tired, some very poor repairs & growing need of a general refurb (painting & carpets). Staff were very friendly.
D. H.
Both courses were in great condition considering it was the 10th/11th January. The Nicklaus course is a marvel, a test and a beauty on every hole. Staff were great, Julie Gray was awesome handling our booking when I inquired back in November. The guys in the Pro Shop were friendly and accommodating. This was my second trip to St Mellion, I'm already thinking about my third.
J. M.
Excellent. Staff very friendly and cleanliness was superb. Very clear on social distancing and disinfecting contact points after use. Very impressed.
J. A.
Lovely place to stay, the lodge was surrounded by trees it was so peaceful just what we needed. We had a lovely meal in the restaurant the service was excellent just as the food was would recommend, will certainly stay there again.
R. B.

t. b.
Absolutly fab u less, great, large rooms, nothing is to much trouble, we are actively
booking again this year, oh and as its a golf centre we do not play.
A. S.
Beautiful course; especially the greens - consistent and immaculate. Hotel is class too; meal was beautiful and breakfast was quality.
M. H.
Has to be one of the best challenging golf courses I have ever played really well maintained and everything about the place looks really good would certainly play there again and would recommend it without any hesitation
A. R. O.
Classy Hotel with friendly staff!
L. T.
Great surroundings, good gym, excellent service and food at No 18. The squeaky flooring up and down the corridor and in some rooms could do with looking at. Would go back though
J. G.
Serene, clean and friendly staff. Facilities are big and very accommodating. Not a fan of their fish and chips as very heavily battered and dry.
T. B.
Very clean room and spacious, very good value and quite hotel , the leisure center is perfect with everything you need, and about the restaurant the food was very tasty . 5
W. F.
Great value, excellent amenities, good location, attention required to very minor points in the rooms ie TV viewing angle, bathroom door lock, security viewing hole on bedroom door but no complaints. Didn't eat here so no experience of food or service
T. C.
I attended a Chamber of Commerce Breakfast event. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was served up very quickly and the staff were always on hand to cater for the needs of everyone
Y.
Good quality is very good. The place has a dated character of charm
M.
Great resort for all the family. Hotel lovely helpful friendly staff. Has lovely poosl gym and fantastic golf course.

C. 1.
Fantastic played a local Tony Brooks who showed me around the course. Weather, course and welcome fantastic. A fabulous advert for Cornwall along with the rattler☺. I will be back. Cyfarchion Yt
B. W.
Pretty spectacular golf course. Very tricky and a definite thinkers course. Tight fairways, sloped greens that are hard and fast. Bring plenty of golf balls!
r. s.
Fabulous place, the staff are very friendly and polite, we only went in to to see the Queen Trbute act which was a bit disappointing but that does not reflect the venue. Would definitely go there again.
F. D. L. V.
Attended a wedding ,lonely welcome.as I entered the building by the reception staff and where quick to direct me to where the wedding was . Lovely venue and drink prices as you would expect for a hotel
K. H.
Here for a wedding, in really beautiful surroundings. We staid elsewhere so not sure if the accommodation cost but the locale is lovely.
C. M.
Attentive staff. Decor needs updating, clean comfortable rooms. Aquatic centre very nice. Bar prices reasonable, food average.
G. B.
It was a good experience, rain and wind can't be helped but the staff were excellent in helping in a tough situation.
S. S.
I go swimming with my husband and son (husband has a membership) we just pay extra for me as a guest. Staff are always friendly and it's such a chilled out atmosphere.
S. N.
Great spa break. Excellent value for money. Helpful and friendly staff. Brilliant food. Overall: amazing.

K. T.
Had a great stay, very friendly and welcoming staff from start to finish and first class golf courses

Great but brutal golf course with lovely hotel.
S. W.
This venue is ok but could do with a bit of a make over. Food was ok. Toilets were lovely and clean
M. T.
The Nicklaus course is easily the best and most challenging in Cornwall. Twilight deals offer great value as well.
R. B. T.
Great hotel, food is lovely, but....wifi is rubbish, only just managed to connect to do this. If you need wifi for work....forget it.
K. C.
Quiet and peaceful. Husband and son enjoyed the golf, other son enjoyed the pool and gym
