S.We went for a coffee to see what had been happening to the old place. The gardens are a "WOW" beautiful vistas and sympathetic renovation. Antony the head gardener was enthusiastic and in our opinion was restoring the gardens to their former glory.
M.The creation of the gardens over a period of fifty years was the work and vision of William Podmore. He removed three large pit banks, a legacy of the industrial era, and constructed dams, ridges and roads to produce the spectacular vistas of today. His book Consall Hall Landscape Garden - The Hidden Vally Revealed tells the tale.
