Me and my wife got married here on 20th April. We had an unforgettable day at The Ashes Barns which is set amongst beautiful surroundings. All staff were very attentive and made us feel so special. Particularly our wedding coordinator Helen who ensured the day went smoothly. Thanks All!

We got here married here 2 days ago and it was the most incredible experience of our lives. The Ashes is a stunning venue with sweeping views of the countryside and beautiful converted barns and country house. The food was absolutely stunning with the waiters being very professional and friendly. The staff were some of the friendliest people and couldn’t do enough to make the day as stress free as it could have been. They’re extremely organised and didn’t make a single misstep whenever we dealt with them. The overnight accommodation was beautiful and our guests loved it too. The buffet breakfast after was a lovely way to wind down. The pricing is flexible and affordable (for a wedding venue!) which is another big plus. The venue kept in contact to make sure what we wanted was implemented which was very helpful as it meant the day went smoothly. We can’t praise them enough; thank you so much for being a big part of the happiest day of our lives! Love Nikita & Joe <3

As soon as we pulled into the drive on the viewing day we knew The Ashes was the venue for us! The staff were so friendly and helpful on the day, having the event managers and coordinators in the day made it a lot less stressful for us too. The no corkage was a bonus to be able to treat our guests to drinks and The Ashes were very accommodating along with Jenkinsons on making our wishes for our special day. We were able to have our dog Luna as part of our wedding day with The Ashes being dog friendly which made it even more special for us. We could not have asked for a better venue, staff or Wedding and we are so happy we chose The Ashes. Highly Recommend!!

We got married here at the Ashes 5 weeks ago and after 2 postponements we couldn't have enjoyed our day anymore! The venue itself is beautiful and the whole grounds are stunning, keep an eye out for the highland cows! We had a horrific time during the pandemic with cancellations and postponements, constant uncertainty with covid restrictions and guidance vagueness. The team continued to support us and try their best to give us the best day despite their own difficulties with getting guidance from the government. A huge shout out to Sally for organising our day and to Ellie and the rest of the team for making the day run smoothly. Despite the restrictions of only 28 guests and no dancing, mask wearing etc - we still had the best day! The venue was covid secure and everyone remained safe and well, which is all we could ask for. The discount offered in the covid response policy were honoured and we received those in a timely manner after the ceremony. The whole team were very professional and worked seamlessly hard throughout the day. Despite a little bit of rain after the ceremony, we still all continued to spend time outside and played games and generally had a right laugh! They were very amenable to random little queries - a projector for speeches, garden games, smoke bomb colour flares and of course us having our 4 legged ringbearer Eric with us. They worked well with all the suppliers so that everything went off without a problem. The food was impeccable, enjoyed by everyone and nobody had a drink run dry the whole day! The accommodation was stunning and so comfortable to get a great nights sleep after a busy day! Everyone enjoyed staying over and breakfast is fantastic the next morning to enjoy all together. It is perfect :) Thank you so much to everyone at the Ashes. We would recommend The Ashes as a wedding venue to everyone!!

Lovely venue for a wedding. Waitresses were very good. Only let down was the wedding organiser. Whilst all the guests were dressed up in their finest and the waiting staff looked very smart, the organiser did introductions and announcements whilst wearing her big jacket. Even when this was pointed out to her, she insisted on keeping it on at all times.

We have nothing but positive words to say about The Ashes, the venue hosted what was the best day of our lives, and the wedding we dreamed of. Our events manager, Ange, was meticulous, and we felt very well looked after for the entire day. The venue itself is stunning, and the decoration / landscape, and catering was exceptional. Everything was lovely, setting, food, staff but although all the staff wore masks the guests were not encouraged to do so when inside during these covid times. Plenty of soap and fresh towels for hands in every public toilet which was good. Plenty of outside seating and tables and drinks bought and served at tables. Overall this is a lovely well worth the money venue with very polite attentive staff.

Firstly, no one can deny the beauty of these barns and it certainly was an amazingly beautiful venue to have our wedding. Everyone commented on how gorgeous it was and some people wish they could go back to visit! We had a lot of family staying in the on site accommodation and they all loved it, beds were comfortable and rooms were clean though definitely could have benefited from all the bugs and spiders swept away daily, not so much an issue for us as we had high ceilings in the old dairy but those with lower ceilings and a fear of the creepy crawlers (understandably expected in the countryside) were rather uncomfortable. Jenkinsons are the in house caterers and we could not praise them enough, they were very smartly dressed and despite the staff looking quite young, they were extremely professional and attentive throughout the serving of the food. Our drinks were kept well topped up and the food was lovely too (we opted for the bbq and afternoon tea for dessert for the wedding breakfast and pizza in the evening!). Thank you guys for a wonderful service. I feel what let this beautiful venue down was the attention to detail as I am just unpacking all of our belongings and can’t help but notice that our centrepieces have just been placed into a box carelessly. We appreciate that these belongings are not meaningful items to the night porters however they hold a lot sentimental value to us as we had each centrepiece represent a stage/important event in our life eg snow globes from our travels, train tickets and Polaroid pictures. We had photo frames that were just put in a box without bubble wrap (though we provided a lot!) with other items that could easily have become scratched and broken. We understand that this would have been timely however some items I think just need that little bit of extra care to ensure they don’t get damaged. The day itself didn’t run as smoothly as we’d of liked and really it became quite stressful. We provided music playlists as requested so we were good to go for the ceremony and wedding breakfast. The iPhone adapter however did not work so the groom along with a member of staff had to manually find and add the songs to the Ashes Barns Spotify account which given that this was being done at the same time that the registrar was speaking to him and only 10 minutes before the ceremony was due was very stressful and frustrating given that he had spent the night before the wedding compiling all of the playlists. There were other little things that built up frustration as I had provided blue prints and clear diagrams of what needed to go where yet when myself and my now husband were shown into the barn before our guests we had to instruct staff what needed to go where. Attention to detail was poor eg an infant nowhere near his parents and a high chair placed in place of an adult guest. We had family booked into accommodation on site but staff did not know where and so they were sent to me to direct them which again was frustrating because all of this information had been uploaded onto their system as requested several weeks prior. I had commented to my husband after the wedding that the wedding day itself despite months of planning just felt like another to-do list. It was important to me to have a first look with my Dad just before we walked down the aisle as his only child I knew he would be emotional. Our wedding coordinator carelessly brought him to the dressing room without warning so our photographer was not ready for his reaction. Given that this is a special moment between father and daughter, it was very upsetting that this was not recognised by the wedding coordinator who facilitates numerous weddings and should know this as it is not a moment that can be repeated! Despite this our wedding coordinator was lovely and it was clear that the hiccups in the day weren’t through malice as she herself was run off her feet all day. Overall a brilliant venue but a little bit more organisation and attention to detail is needed! Regardless, we did have the best day of our lives!

Unbelievable High level of quality of service, with beautiful surrounding amazingly refurbished to handle the occasion. This place is a true credit and an absolute GEM!! to Staffordshire and the wedding industry. I got married here some time ago when the venue was recently opened, I've have watched The Ashes Barns grow into one of the 'UK leaders' in the this industry. Amazing service! amazing people! We got married at The Ashes in Dec 19 and it was absolutely everything that I could have dreamed of. We saw the venue on a cold, grey and damp day and we still fell in love with it. The venue is outstanding, I wanted a winter wonderland themed wedding and it was just perfect. The added bonus of having accommodation on site is what really made it for us. The team turned the barns into exactly what I was envisaging and their suppliers directory took some of the pressure off and certainly helped to make the planning easier. The suppliers are amazing as well and we used various ones from their directory. The food provided by Jenkinsons was complimented by everyone and the choice was excellent. We really couldn't have asked for more! Lisa was our wedding planner and all I can say is that she was absolutely amazing. She was friendly, gave us lots of ideas and things to consider and nothing was too much for her. Even though it rained all day, it was the most perfect day, the venue still sparkled. Thank you to Lisa and the team for making our day just perfect!

A lovely venue, well presented with most staff providing good customer service for the wedding of our friends. We found one of the cleaners to be quite brusk in manner and couldn’t fathom why the reception wine glasses were cleared away but the remaining wine not, so nothing to drink it from, when questioned we were told they’d all been washed and stored away. Where do we even start! What a stunning venue!! From the moment we found the venue online through to the completion of our day at The Ashes, we couldn't have been happier that we were able to have our wedding there. It is an absolutely gorgeous venue and the team at The Ashes have done a brilliant job of making it the best place in the world to have a wedding - no joke, we travelled from Melbourne, Australia to have our wedding there! The communication was amazing and we never felt alone in our planning. Emails were always responded to promptly and no question was too silly or too much. Everyone was friendly and there is so much valuable information on our personal booking website already on hand that it is a great resource to anyone getting married here. We loved that it was a No Corkage venue but also that the drinks packages were super reasonably priced and we ended up using that instead of bringing our own drinks. Our Event Manager, Jayne, was lovely and we are so grateful she was able to do our Planning Meeting over the phone instead of in-person due to not being in the same country. I have no doubt that the day ran perfectly because of her attention to detail. She was on hand from before I arrived with my bridesmaids and hairdresser at 10.30am and was still there when our guests were leaving after midnight! The site is beautifully maintained and the grounds were perfect for photos in every direction. One particularly big draw for us to the venue is that the ceremony barn can be converted to an indoor area during cold/rainy weather for the drinks reception. The Wedding Night accommodation was lovely and the bed so cosy - what a lovely place to sleep after the best night of our lives. Breakfast in the morning was yummy! I feel like I could go on and on as it really was the best day of our lives and I truly believe it was perfect because we had it at The Ashes. Thank you so much to everyone in the team that contributed to our day :)

I just had to write this review. We attended a wedding at this lovely venue and I was completely captivated by the whole process. It was a lovely day. The place was stunningly beautiful. Old, stone, cobbles, nicely restored with sensitive use of subdued colours, natural stone throughout and simple elegant furnishings. I was particularly impressed with the dressing room, and en suite, where the bride and entourage can dress and freshen up. The small number of buildings, surrounded by Highland cattle and grazing ponies in the fields, looks out over a lovely duck pond, and close by, the gardens with the water feature, add to the idyllic atmosphere, so romantic. The staff were great, pleasant, attentive, professional. The food, well, five stars just are not enough. The only downside was choice of ambient music whilst we ate, and mingled. I don't know who chose it but it was a bit odd. The weather was terrific, very hot and very sunny. I am sure the Ashes didn't arranged that, but it was nice anyway. I few table umbrellas might have helped cut down on the sunstroke hazard,w e desperately needed shade on the court. All in all, a lovely place, well suited to the romantic nature of the wedding. Good facilities, great location. Please be warned, your satnav will lead you to the back gate - which is the old entrance to the farm and not open. You need to check you have the right post code to get to the front drive, which is not far away. Thanks to everyone who made this a lovely day and a great start to the marriage of Heather and Lloyd Fifield.
