T. R. T.A wonderful space for the hire of rehearsal rooms and the performance of grass roots theatre, staging all kinds of plays, musicals, stand-up comedy, used by York's various amateur companies and increasingly many of today's commercial artists and theatre companies.
I. C.Lovely little theatre.We attended a "Covid Secure" pantomime with our 3 and 5 year old kids. They thoroughly enjoyed it. The audience sit on two sides overlooking or at stage level, which means everyone is in the thick of the action. Each family group is separate by plastic screens, which felt safe. The performance was great and had enough subtle "in jokes" to keep adults entertained.
J. W.Such a great venue for creativity. Completely offers something that no other venue in York does and completely compliments all the other venues. I love performing and rehearsing there and the team have done a great job of starting to bring this building up to date. Please support local theatre!
W. S.Went to see Songbird in this bejut theatre , although small the tables were set out in cabaret style to provide an intimate show.The staff were very attentive and all in all a lovely evening , parked just behind the venue in the municipal car park which was just fine
C. M.Absolutely love this venue. A hidden gem in York which offers theatre goers an intimate experience. The setting allows you to really feel part of what is onstage.
We loved our recent visit and will be back as soon as we are able!
J. H.The most magical black box studio theatre - I’ve seen so many different t productions here which have each transformed the venue. There’s also a great dance studio, rehearsal room, green room and kitchen. And the rates are the best in York! A hidden gem...
A. I.Love this theatre, the shows have been incredible, such high quality and it definitely adds to the occasion when you can sit at cafe style tables and enjoy a drink while taking in the show! Can’t wait to get back 🥰
