We hired this venue for our wedding, from start to finish the couple that run the club were so helpful and friendly and helped me decide exactly what I wanted for the day, the room looked amazing, the dj was fab and the staff were so lovely, the food was also amazing and plentiful. Stunning venue, multiple sports fields for cricket, rugby and tennis. All immaculately tended and well presented. Practice facilities are equally impressive. Lovely clubhouse and additional pavilions nearly complete. Looking forward to our next visit!

Excellent. Spent three full days in a professional film bootcamp. All members of the staff were always polite and friendly. Buffet served was delicious and made daily fresh. Tea and coffee were all day available with staff checking it regularly. Last day we had a drinks time at the bar, and even the other customers were nice and polite, making a very pleasant atmosphere. Splendid.

Had a few work dos/training here. Bars bit small downstairs and slow service, toilets for the bar VERY small too but food is very decent. The venue itself is very modern, kept clean, easy to access and fairly sized. Would recommend as a venue

We were struggling to find somewhere to hold my late Dad’s wake and drove past, dropped in and got details. We called the same day and got booked immediately after the team checked their other commitments. We had great service from Kevin and his team from booking to leaving. The room was great with a balcony overlooking the cricket pitch and we could pipe music of our choice. The food for the wake was excellent and well presented and staff ere on hand to clear and keep on top of things from the start. Excellent venue and Dad would have approved of the excellent value for money.

Warm, comfortable with good staff. Modern building so don't expect fake beams but with screens showing sport in a sports club. Several cuts above your town centre sports bar.

Fabulous - from start to end. It’s not easy sorting a wake but Kevin, Liz and all the staff were professional, sensitive and accommodating. The buffet was superb and excellent value so my Dad ( a true Yorkshireman ) would most certainly approve. Thank you

We've been members of the squash club before and found it reasonably priced with good availability of courts. The downstairs bar's great plus you can hire out the upstairs function room with bar for events. Been to several here and always enjoyed myself. The catering company they have do a really good hog roast and burgers so if you're having an event here be sure to ask for them. Most recently they hired a huge outdoor screen to watch an England football game. Great atmosphere but it was so popular that queues to the bar were horrendous. Not their fault just a victim of their own popularity.

Went to the Yorkshire game versus Warwickshire on Thursday, the facilities were excellent with plenty of helpful staff. The bar is well stocked and has a very spacious lounge with tvs galore for watching sport. The committee did an excellent job in staging the game and hopefully will get more game in the future.

Been here on two occasions, once to give blood and the other was for a conference, both time the facilities have been clean, tidy and well maintained. Great views onto the sports fields outback from the upstairs rooms, and the food provided by the catering team is more than reasonable.

We recently lost our son to lukemia, and decided to celebrate his life with the funeral tea at York sports club as he spent a lot of his early years playing cricket here. We would just like to say a big thank you to all at York sports club for making this a special celebration of our sons life. Kevin and the team handled everything with tact and decorum and nothing was to much trouble. They went the extra mile setting up projectors sound systems in a very professional manner. The catering was outstanding in terms of the quality and quantity. We cannot recommend this venue enough. Many thanks. Ashley & Viv

It was an OK venue for a work away day although the staff were a little lacklustre and seemed to be annoyed at us for no good reason... it's not a place I'd hurry back to if I'm totally honest as unwarranted contempt leaves you with a sour taste in your mouth - the buffet was good...
