Reviews of The Birmingham Botanical Gardens

Great place to visit, even if your not into horticulture.
Nice for children to explore around, especially a kind of big garden with a deep pool, looks Jurassic. Nice cottage with herb garden, cottage not open though... really nice cafeteria , and an ice cream hut outside...
Please be aware you can only use card payment in the whole place, even for ice creams.
They hire out different halls for weddings and corporate events.
Great for photos outside.

Really enjoyed our visit, there's live music on Sunday, the parking ticket can be purchased while you buy the entry ticket. It's £3 all day The best part is that you don't need to put the ticket in your car, you just need to enter your registration number on the machine once you go past the entry gates.
They have an area for birds, children play area for all age groups, beautiful ponds and a tea room.

Really lovely, disabled-friendly place. You can even hire an electric scooter for a refundable deposit of £50, or your car keys! Brilliant idea.
Lovely staff, good toilets & good cafe.
Really recommend!! 🖤🖤🖤

Actually it's a great botanical gardens with lots of interesting areas. It sits on a sloping aspect with views of the city beyond. Very well laid out with something for everyone. The Bonsai trees are amazing, but easily missed if you don't follow the map. I was a little bemused by the ladies on reception. They were quite detached and unwelcoming. However, this did not spoil the main attraction.

Simply amazing. Get your kids out to places like this often. Come again as always.
It pays well to be a member. Always something to learn regardless of age… amazing kids play area too. Day well spent anytime

Wonderful place to visit! Well-divided and classified sections. I enjoyed their signage so much. The various walks named after plant collectors from the past were very innovative and informative.
Unfortunately, the aviary was not open to enjoy from inside. The bandstand, too, looked desolate.
I enjoyed shopping for plants in their nursery.
If an opportunity presents itself, I would love to re-visit.

In the interest of giving a balanced opinion I am going to explain why, on this occasion, the review is accompanied by 3 stars.
My first visit to The Birmingham Botanical Gardens and I would return again as I enjoyed the visit enough to say it was worth it.
The best way to sum up in a short statement is, the Gardens are not in their best condition and I would imagine far away from the condition I would assume it was in 1998 when it was one of the locations used to host foreign dignitaries at the G8 Summit.
I guess in a small part due to the challenges many public spaces and attractions have had to deal with in the last couple of years or so. Hopefully once again at some point in the future things will align to bring the Gardens back nearer to the 'glory' days.
There was evidence on view of revitalisation / rejuvenation of some areas of the Gardens and ongoing work, however it is also quite clear to see how difficult it must be to stay on top of the general upkeep of the Gardens.
The Glasshouses were in a reasonable condition, housing some of the most stunning plant collections and some delightful visual experiences. On the other hand, outside, most of the bird aviaries were either uninhabited or looking slightly run down. Thankfully not run down to the point of being detrimental to the birds, with enough evidence that the welfare and upkeep of the birds is paramount.
Many of the themed Garden areas were in need of maintenance, including quite a few of the features, such as viewing platforms or bridges etc, which may have been closed off for other reasons initially, now looking in need of safety maintenance before they return to visitor use.
In conclusion, I did enjoy my visit and would return again. However, as mentioned before, I can see that there is a bit of a Catch 22 situation at the moment.
Investment is clearly needed to bring the Gardens up to their previous standards, but investment is easier to justify when visitor numbers are buoyant and visitor numbers on the rise.
Hope that when I do return again their is fresh evidence of the Garden restorations and healthier visitor numbers. It is a Garden with growing potentials.

Nice place to spend a day walking round, first time I’ve been to see the gardens, I would hope that during the summer the gardens are in a better state as they looked a little unloved during the winter, will go back in the summer to see if there is a change. Nice cafe serving lovely food
S. Z.
Ancient, bustling, vibrant gardens. Time flied as we wondered through the hundreds types of plants. Plus, kids loved the woody playground. We enjoyed our afternoon. We will visit again in the summer for sure to see roses blooms.

Where to begin! It's a one of a kind experience truly. There are a variety of plant species, all labelled and with really great tidbits about each tree. For example, I didn't know that 24 carot gold comes from the weight of 24 seeds of a plant, which was set as the standard measurement.
There are also papyrus plants which of course were used for making paper by the Egyptians.
Moreover, there were plants from tropical, rainforest, arid and temperate climates, each with their own uniquely maintained greenhouse. The grounds and outdoor garden are pure heaven, like the gardens of Elysium. It truly is a place which enriches the soul. Entry fee was £7.50 but well spent and absolutely worth it.
G. P.
For such a cheap price these gardens gave us nearly an hour of entertainment walking around and looking at everything, the grounds are well cared for and clean, with a wide variety of plants and wildlife. The staff were very friendly, gave us all the information we needed and helped us get in. You have to pay for car parking when entering the gardens but its only £3 for the entire day and the car park was quiet, big paces and looked safe. I was really amazed at how such a large garden could be hidden amongst birminghams large city, surrounded by houses and life. It was really nice to get away from the hustle and bustle and just relax somewhere calming. To my surprise they also had some birds there to see which made it even better!!

First time I've visited in autumn and the colours are wonderful. Love the variety of trees, shrubs and flowers here. Had a lovely afternoon, highly recommend visiting. Lovely shop and cafe there too. And next 2 weeks added bonus of a dinosaur display! 😁
T. D.
A beautiful botanical garden. There are four glass conservatories filled with many beautiful and unique plants, which are categorised by their climate.
Yet sadly, there are outdoor cages where captive birds are kept such as a macaw, even in this winter cold. Giant koi fish were kept in a small pond relative to their size and quantities and their hunger was objectified by a timed feeder where people can stand around and laugh at the confused and stressed animals fighting for food. I was extremely disappointed in the gardens for their choice to exploit sentient creatures just for entertainment and the attraction of more visitors and money. There is so much within the botanical gardens to do and fill your day with, so there is no need for the objectified animals to be here. There are so many plants to stare at and photograph, there is a beautiful bonsai garden, outdoor herb and alpine gardens, green houses, bamboo trails, waterfalls and an amazing childrens park. These gardens are perfect for kids and adults, I just wish they would realise that they don't need to continually play a part in the exploitation of animals to provide visitors with an amazing time.
A lot of the beds are not maintained, this is probably due to COVID but as a plant lover it made me sad to see pests on many plants with and broken, rotting beds. However, I actually really liked the authentic, small scale and realistic vibe of the place compared to many of the commercialised and over priced botanical gardens. House plant enthusiasts can enjoy seeing their own plant children thriving and living their best HUGE life, and can get excited at the plants on offer in the cute gift shop.
It isn't too pricey, around £7 for people over the age of 5. However, if you are disabled or on UC, like me, you can get a concession price!
I do recommend the gardens and the walk from Birmingham city center... perhaps try to write in the visitor book, leave a review or speak to the staff about your concerns with the poor animals.
A. C.
This is a gorgeous place to visit, they’ve got a huge range of gardens and green houses to see, with birds and peacocks wandering around. The live music in the band stand on Sundays is great fun and the cafe is definitely worth a visit. There’s also a cat often hanging out by the fountain too!
M. “. C.
Wonderful Gardens as always, Tea rooms clean and food was lovely if a bit much for a fish finger sandwich.
I went to the Dinosaur Display and it was really interesting to read about the different ones and see them pretty much life-size. The only thing I though brought it down were that the dinosaurs were pretty well used, eyes missing and foam teeth pulled apart. Just deterioration all around but , They still looked good if you didn't notice it.
All round plesent day out and will always return to this place.
H. B.
Gardens are amazing and reasonable price. But Tea rooms are very poor so if you are visiting please take a picnic lunch as there are lots of lovely places to sit. We expected a good quality lunch. 2 sandwiches and chips and 2 coffees £18 reasonable if they were good quality but they were substandard sandwiches and dry unpalatable chips served in take away cartons with plastic spoons & paper cups. Very disappointing for such a quality venue more like a transport cafe. Had we known we would have eaten before we arrived.
Also no alternative places around to buy any other drinks or snacks.. On the web site the tea room looked lovely so we expected better quality food and service.
M. S. J.
The great collection of cactus and pitcher plants with different outdoor plants too. Don't expect too much if you have already visited other botanical gardens. Overall expensive experience.
C. P.
Lovely place to visit. Haven't had the change to go round the whole of it so will come back again when I can. Best nature place in Birmingham. Love the shop inside too. Staff and super friendly and helpful. Flowers are exceptional and love the trees too.
C. D.
Went for the Dinosaur experience and as a dinosaur nut I thoroughly enjoyed this experience as did the kids. Only ONE downside really. Some of these Dino's have teeth missing and are damaged. I assume from old age so some replacements would be beneficial. The only downside was parents allowing their kids to run off and kick the dinosaurs showing no respect at all to the surroundings.
The gardens were amazing. I will definitely be returning.
M. D. G.
Good place for a family day out. Younger children will enjoy the play areas, fish, birds and the peacocks 🦚 were a surprise. Was raining intermittently when we went, but we still managed a good afternoon tea in the cafe. Kids enjoyed it overall.
A. D.
Very calm and quiet place to visit. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit with my family and friends. The only disappointment which we had that we we could not see the peacock 🦚
R. C.
Brilliant day out. Might be an idea to warn people on way in that it is all card only payments and toilets and cafe are at end of the dino experience as is all one way round. But we managed to nip through and back to start when we had eaten. Really good day tho. Totally enjoyed it.
M. D. J.
Lovely gardens not far from the city centre. Parking is available and not expensive to enter.
Sufficient space for picnics. I'd suggest taking your own food as cafe has a minimal offering that doesn't accommodate for all diets etc.
Weather permitting, you'll have a nice couple of hours walking and discovering the gardens.
R. B.
My visit to the Botanical Gardens was for the Swingamajig festival. The venue itself is great. It has a great selection of plants, rock garden, fish, and an aviary. It always looks clean and well maintained. The staff are incredibly friendly. The Swingamajig festival was incredible. They have a selection of fantastic acts consisting of brass bands, djs, and traditional swing groups with modern twists. They have swing lessons and a dance floor to watch professionals swing the night away or for you to have some fun. They have a cabaret, which is suitable for children and some after hours for the adults. It is definitely catered for everyone from all walks of life. Children and adults will have an absolute blast here.

Spent a wonderful afternoon at the Botanical Gardens.
The staff were extremely pleasant to a (wo)man, from the reception, to the Pavilion, to the shop.
Working in such a breathtaking place must put you in a fab mood.
The flora and fauna on show are too diverse to single out any one genus. But, if forced to pick a favourite, the sheer size of the leaves around one tucked away pond in the fern garden would shade it 🤭
From cacti to bonsai and everything in between, the Botanical Gardens has the lot. And it's all on view to take in at your leisure as you stroll around the 25 acre site.
But the work behind the scenes should also get a mention, in the nursery and to maintain the birds 🐦 and butterflies 🦋 on show.
The Pavilion offers reasonable priced snacks, whilst maintaining safety and quality.
There's a great little park for kids.
And we spent a fortune in the shop on the way out, convinced as I was (at the time) that I now won't kill house plants within hours of them crossing the threshold. 🤔
Great value, and great place to wile away a lazy day in summer.
R. J.
This place is absolutely huge with some really rare sights to see and plenty of things to do. We went for a walk around on the bank holiday Monday and though it was busy there was plenty of space outside, however it can be a bit cramped in the greenhouses with people walking every direction and gathering in the narrow walkways.
My only complaint is that the toilets were clearly unchecked and were quite atrocious. The loo roll was totally out, the floor was soaking wet but hadn’t been cleaned and the flusher didn’t work so the loo was full of used tissues and waste.
Other than that I’d recommend it for a family day out of if you fancy a walk around somewhere with plenty to see!
A. B.
So we probably went at a bad time as the seasons are about the change but the displays looked very old and there was clear over growth in some of the areas.
The kids parks are a big win with the little ones and the tea rooms also looked popular (although we didn't stop in)
The butterfly House (although just a large greenhouse) is big enough to have a few picture of butterfly and to learn a bit about them.
Parking is £2 for non members but we got no sticker and didn't get asked for our reg so there is zero chance they are actually monitoring this!

Scenic and picturesque gardens. Did some couple photos at these beautiful gardens on a Sunday afternoon in August after their wedding . Lovely grounds and scenic spots. Not too busy. Parking available. Highly recommended for photos and just to visit and relax.
P. M. (.
That was very unusual to me. I saw flowers and plants I would have never imagine existed. There are are differents climates in different areas, each of them giving you the feeling of being "there".
I recommand a visit!

We attended as part of Birmingham Heritage Week so we got free entry. Prior to going, I had not been as I felt what am I paying this price for to see a bunch of flowers?!
However having now attended, I can appreciate all the garden has to offer and would definitely go back as a paying customer. One could easily spend a whole day here viewing the gardens, enjoying a nice picnic, spotting butterfly’s and of course, viewing all the different plants from around the world.
D.
What a beautiful spot a short distance from the city centre. Well worth setting aside a couple of hours to stroll through the perfect garden areas and take in some fresh air. You can take picnics too.
C. G.
Worked in the kitchens but had a chance to walk around the beautiful gardens. This place is breathtakingly beautiful with its beautiful picturesque scenery with a chilled relaxing atmosphere. The indoor gardens have different varieties of plants 🪴 and flowers 💐. The venue is a wonderful place for receptions, functions, meetings with an excellent kitchen and restaurant staff, who cook beautifully flavoursome Food. There are some awesome beautiful places in England and the Botanical Gardens is one of them.
S. T.
What a lovely and peaceful place. The cockatoo there was so friendly. It danced when we put music 😂. Then there are varieties of interesting plant species like Venus fly trap and all. So many beautiful birds tell hi to you when you tell hello.
A. M.
Pleasant gardens to walk round & lots of information about the plants in the various greenhouses. Lovely birds in the aviaries including talking cockatoos. Easy to reach by bus from central Birmingham and a bargain to get in with a Gardeners World 2 for 1 card.

My first time visiting the botanical gardens was so fun. I came for the Jurassic Park experience thing with animatronic dinosaurs all around the gardens.
Without the dinosaurs, it was a really nice place to walk around. I love looking at flowers and plants and there was so much to see.
I. J.
Superb experience, lovely oasis in the middle of suburbia, normally a lovely place to relax and enjoy nature. However was there for the dinosaurs and very well presented and well run, was an amazing experience for children of all ages oh and the Adults had a great time as well. WELL WORTH A VISIT or two
F. P.
Nice place to walk around. Shame we chose a day when it absolutely poured down. Food in the tea room was really nice
A. C.
Beautiful place if you like a nature in any shape and form. Many exotic plants which do not grow naturally under British sun are there for you to enjoy. You can take an inspiration to your own garden as well as be able to purchase some plants, garden decoration or home decoration. Everything is so beautiful. I've spent long time in their shop and I left £34 lighter however it was worth it. I'm sure you will enjoy it if it is your thing.
C. C.
A great place to visit. Beautiful atmosphere. Nice and attentive staff. Met 2 beautiful peacocks. I think we're friends now. 😊 I would definitely recommend to all who love plants, flowers, open natural environments and birds.
C. B.
Visited during Jurassic world car park is small and a nightmare when this was on, they decided that using loads of parking spaces (About 40!) was a great idea for the props which means surrounding area was gridlock at times. Nice place to visit.
K. A.
A really good well laid out gardens. Well worth a visit.
J. D.
Wonderful place to spend your day with children, loved the place
t. r.
lovely place! the plant houses are gorgeous and well laid-out; the butterfly house may be smaller than you expect but personally i spent enough time there to still enjoy it and get some great photo opportunities. gift shop is also a neat little place
S. C.
Although a regular visitor to Birmingham I had never previously been to the Bontanical Gardens, and that has certainly been my loss. A beautiful site that seems miles away from the city, it has the feel of a Victorian landscaped garden with several hothouse and a large architecturally impressive aviary. The plantings vary from quite formal beds to a woodland area and a small allotment, all of which add variety and interest.
The car park can be rather crowded, but otherwise the site is very accessible. We'll worth a visit!
A.
Well worth the money. The gardens are fantastic lots of different styles of gardens and plants gave me lots of ideas. They also have a wonderful gift shop and nursery garden which is very well priced. Hard to believe that this place is so close to Birmingham City centre. Will definitely be going again soon
D. W.
Cafe food wasn't the best at all, but the gardens themselves were beautiful.
t. s.
My eldest daughter treated us to a tea there on my birthday.
Not a cake person but really enjoyed the selection of cakes and sandwiches .Waitresses excellent . Table was set out for five.
I would recommend this place.
We noticed a wedding party all very happy there.
So enjoyed our time there and would love to go again.
S. M.
Visited for the jurassic encounter booked for my son nearly 3 years !!He loved it they did a great job hiding dinosaurs through out the gardens also had food stands and hot chocolate we decided to take a picnic and found somewhere nice to eat lots of places to choose from. And the gift shop isn't to badly priced
I.
I can’t believe for such a little entry fee you can access such a beautiful well maintained gardens!
There is a peacock walking around freely, some birds to watch and a parrot that says « Hello ».
It is perfect to keep the kids busy (if you have some), have a romantic stroll or spend time with a friend. I loved it so much and I would highly recommend it.
And for the cactus lovers, there is an entire « Aride » section to check out.
S. H.
This is such a wonderful oasis in the middle of Birmingham!
The Gardens are open everyday 10 am – 6 pm midweek and 10 am – 7 pm on weekends. It costs £6-8 per adult and free for members (of which is very cheap).
There are live events held inclusive of entry- bandstand performances, cinema screenings and tours!
Great way to spend a day out, you can bring a picnic or eat from the cafe which has a great selection of sandwiches, hot lunches, drinks!
Highly recommend!
S. R.
Lovely day out, seen beautiful peacocks and other wildlife. Park is great for the kids.
D. H.
After booking tickets online, it was very good, we felt safe and secure going around the garden's etc. Very clean the flowers and plants looked in tip top condition.
The bird aviary was also clean, the birds looked healthy and happy. There was a small hatch for purchase of drinks and snacks only, card payments - to be expected.
Overall, we enjoyed ourselves very much.

I am ashamed to say I have lived in Birmingham for four years and never visited the Botanical Gardens, it is absolutely beautiful. I spent five hours there, I could have spent a lot more time there. It started to get very busy at about 2 p.m., I got there at 11 a.m. It opens at 10 o’clock. A truly wonderful experience, not to be missed if you are anywhere near Birmingham.
Even though it did get busy it did feel safe. It is such a vast area and everyone behaved responsibly, so do not worry.
I wanted to add, they had easy access for wheelchairs, I noticed several wheelchair users in the Botanical Gardens.
They also have a fabulous yearly membership which is only £40 a year, £27 for concessions. I joined for £27, you can visit the gardens throughout the whole year. They have concerts at the weekends throughout the year, this year is different at this particular moment in time, when you think one would pay £28 for only four visits and if you live locally this is a fantastic deal, even for £40 it amounts to 6 visits, again a fantastic deal, you are also supporting the Botanical Gardens at these very difficult times, they have various other places one can visit free as a member. So if you live locally, I strongly recommend you join, it is a Wonderful deal.
M. S.
Beautiful, well kept gardens. The kids play area is good as well, well equipped. Food is OK, nothing amazing but not a rip off either.
I have to remove a star, unfortunately, as the butterfly house was closed. Now I know this is due to Covid-19, BUT, there was no mention of it anywhere on their website.
I'm glad I still went, but given this was half the reason for us going, it was disappointing.
S. H.
The gardens are beautiful and a tranquil place within urban Birmingham. However, we had a recent afternoon tea there which was very poor quality for what it cost. The 4 finger sandwiches were fresh, but I've never seen such a small scone. It was the size of a mini pork pie. The jam and cream were needed to make it edible. One flapjack, one slice of dry fruit cake and a 1" square of chocolate brownie. No nice cups and a tea pot, but a cup of tea served to us, with a bottle of water. Though the two servers were very nice and friendly young ladies. I've had far better in a small cafe in Bridgnorth.
A. K.
The bets place for families in Birmingham. Sunday afternoons in the sun enjoying a picnic the best place. Safe fun interesting adventurous relaxing. Been going for many years with my family never looses its charm a lovely oasis in the city. Keep up the good work i am proud to be a member al these years.
S. T.
Best place in Birmingham, the Quaker Parakeets are fabulous especially my main man, orange chest. The glass houses are worth visiting no matter the season and even when everything is winter sparse it's a lovely peaceful place to walk around. Good butterfly action in the warmer months.
T. L.
Ive been back few times to the garden. I remember took my mum who visited the UK from overseas and I couldnt drag her out, she's so loving it! Lovely sanctuary in the middle of busy city. Great place to spark botanical interests for young and old minds. Its very well worth cause for every citizen to support.
G. M.
Beautiful venue immaculately maintained as a victorian style formal garden archery ground (this is owned by a separate organisation) and glasshouses. Exotic birds seem very well cared for. Good parking and disabled access. Quite a long queue to get in an 11 am. Definitely worth a visit, both in the spring and in the summer when it will look very different. NB: if you are not a member it will cost £8 to get in plus parking.
E. E.
Such a beautiful and tranquil place to visit right in the heart of Birmingham. A lovely tea room with hot and cold food. A large play area for children. Toilet facilities. A great gift shop all available. A lovely morning or afternoon out
W. S.
Excellent day good value for money also good playground for kids
K. B.
Beautiful colours this time of year with well kept gardens. Very friendly squirrels and peacocks.
S. H.
Absolutely gorgeous gardens with a fantastic array of plants and flowers. I really enjoyed it and the gift shop has a fantastic variety of different presents and cards. I was astounded with the amount of different plants and flowers on display as well as the vast selection of gifts in the shop.
D. B.
A nice botanical garden with lots of interesting specimens especially in the greenhouse areas. The aviary is also worth a visit. Tickets are quite expensive and there is no reduction if you buy any of the plants (also quite expensive).
K. A.
Lovely walk for the jurrasic encounter... online booking wasn't available.. lady on phone said it would be same price for tickets at the entrance but when we arrived there we were charged full price and not the price that was online...
M. S. V. B. S.
Tropical plants in Victorian gardens. A hidden jem in the middle of an increasingly ugly city. They have live music on the bandstand on Sundays and bank holidays. Interesting to see the brass band replaced by the power trio. Nice way to spend an afternoon either way.
D. O.
We booked this for a corporate function and had a fantastic time. Everything went smoothly, they were very accommodating to our changes, the food was great and the only regret I have is not giving our delegates more time set aside to explore the grounds!!
S. H.
A nice bit of paradise in the heart of Birmingham. Big enough for a few hours gentle stroll around the gardens and a picnic. Can forget you're in the second largest city. Mediterranean House is particularly nice. Pleasant cafe and decent play park for children. Flow of traffic at the dinosaur event at a good level.
Y. R.
Lovely garden with a great variety of species and a fabulous Rhododendron labyrinth.
A sensory japanese garden with a rare display of exquisite bonsai trees from different habitats.
Peacocks rambling free and a permanent echo of exotic parots. The lead singer is surely the robin.
The greenhouse and hystorical gardens could use a bit of revival, otherwise everybody on site seems to be putting their hearts in it!
Loved it, hope to visit again 🤞
t. B.
Visited these beautiful gardens for the first time yesterday and was not disappointed. Had a lovely day. My 10 year old daughter loved exploring all the different areas. Great place for a relaxing afternoon and young children will love exploring this place. Nice area for picnics. Gift shop is lovely and my daughter loved spending her pocket money in there. Very beautiful place. Nothing bad to say.
A. S.
Great place for walking and relax. Shop is here with gifts and plants. Great childrens playground.
J. A.
If you want to chill out relax forget your troubles, cafe service is very good.
G. G.
Unfortunately, a few things were closed when I visited before lockdown number two. Nevertheless, the plants and nature during the autumn season were spectacular! It makes a lovely day out and I have the best memories there, of when I was a child. It's a family-friendly place, I would wholeheartedly recommend it.
A. M.
Really gorgeous gardens with a beautiful range of styles, there’s something for everyone but for me it was most definitely the parrots! They’ve got Lovely big aviaries and are clearly well cared for!
E. W.
Amazing garden's, definitely worth a visit and very reasonable ticket prices
H. P.
A beautiful botanical garden that has many and diverse plants and flowers. The only thing that could be improved is the map itself which at times was quite confusing. Other then that, it's a great place for flora lovers and families.
M. M.
Wasn't bad. There were some lovely plants and trees which we were, of course, expecting, but I didn't read the description before going so I didn't know there were birds there. It was nice seeing them and "talking" to the parrots. Some of the areas were closed off, we had members of our group needing to use the toilet which was also closed, that was inconvenient, and their tea room didn't have much of a variety, usually vegan options, what they did have wasn't the best, however, it's a nice place for mature/plant lovers. The gift shop was okay and they also sell plants. There are some beautiful spots and good to pass some time.
A. M.
Brilliant day with my lovely Lady and our crazy energetic grandkids. Lovely sunny day for their Easter hunting (bit tricky keeping the location "secret" and trying to ensure that other hunters didn't "find" them first).
A. B.
It was magnificent. I saw the jurassic dinosaur displays with my children. They loved it.
S. B.
We booked the Loudon Suite for our party and it was an absolutely spectacular experience! The staff accommodated our every need. They went above and beyond to help us and our guests. I will definitely recommend them and will use them again for future events!
S. K.
Lovely gardens, always clean and tidy.
2 different playareas for the children.
In the summer they have all different bands on a Sunday which is amazing.
J. W.
Idyllic haven a stone's throw from the centre of Birmingham. We visited on a hot sunny day and enjoyed sitting in the shade and admiring nature.
L. E.
I have been coming here for over 60 years in the early years it was sold to us by my mother as a holiday, ha! A picnic and a play and back on the bus home. It brings back beautiful memories.
C. C. L.
A little unkempt in places and my word was the parking difficult! Play area was closed. But on a lovely sunny day its a great place for a stroll or sunbathe. I wouldn't make the journey from Wolverhampton again but I 8magine this is a great place for the locals.

Clean and well cared for green space. Recommend getting the annual pass to be cost effective, then it gives a private and safe area to visit with kids
C. W.
Visited this place a couple of times and had always been great. Just visited today (16th July 2020) taking parents. Firstly tickets are full price and they now use an online booking form which charges an extra £4 ontop for the privilege. Parking was free which was a plus. Anyone wanting to visit right now be aware that around a third of the gardens are off limits and areas fenced off. Many of the flowers have died off and haven’t been well kept over the lockdown, a lot of large weeds everywhere I guess because of the lock down nobody like volunteers have been able to help around the grounds. The cafe is doing takeaway drinks, snacks etc. Toilets down by the ‘Alpine display’ are open but only 1 person at a time. The place is still nice to visit but just be aware that the usual standard is going to take a few more months, I personally think it’s a bit cheeky on the admission fees but I’m still giving 4 stars as I know the place can be really good.
R. O.
Lot to interesting plants, vistas and glasshouses. Need to spend at least half a day to see everything. Take sturdy shoes because the outside gardens are on a slope.
A. A.
This is our 3rd visit to the gardens. The range of natural trees, plants and wildlife changes over the seasons and so does the appearance of the place. Well worth a visit with kids or without.
Our latest visit has been with a special day free entry, picnic and live music. A warm day and lovely atmosphere. You have to sew it to appreciate it all. There's so many routes and paths throughout the open garden to explore and find secret spots.
a. a.
Nice place to visit. Relaxation for mind and soul. With clean and peaceful surroundings.
p. w.
Tucked away in edgbaston this is a little gem. Lots of well established trees and some old oriental imports. Some of my favourites were the huge copper beech and a beautiful blue spruce. Parking is available and a reasonable cafe.
J. W.
Absolutely love the Birmingham botanical gardens. It’s such a nice space with lots of different sections.
S. T.
Nice and a large place to walk.
J. F.
Great day out all the kids loved it xx
A. M.
Brilliant day with my lovely Lady and our crazy energetic grandkids. Lovely sunny day for their Easter hunting (bit tricky keeping the location "secret" and trying to ensure that other hunters didn't "find" them first).
J. W.
Idyllic haven a stone's throw from the centre of Birmingham. We visited on a hot sunny day and enjoyed sitting in the shade and admiring nature.
S. H.
The gardens are beautiful and a tranquil place within urban Birmingham. However, we had a recent afternoon tea there which was very poor quality for what it cost. The 4 finger sandwiches were fresh, but I've never seen such a small scone. …
J. C.
Visited dinosaur experience. Had a wonderful time

We (Mustard Yellow Photography) had the pleasure of photographing a wedding at the Botanical Gardens in March and it was a real joy!
Obviously the gardens and glass houses are a treat for photos - but we didn't know they had suvc a gorgeous room for the wedding reception too. The guests were all well fed and looked after. The party was great fun right into the night.
A happy we spotted the peacocks too!
M. D.
Enjoyable first visit to the gardens. Very nicely maintained. Good value for money. Highly recommended.
L. S.
Really nice relaxing place. The colours this time of year are breath taking and the peacocks are always a good watch. The play area for children looks awesome and there's lots of information on all the plantd snd notable people.
Well worth it.
T. T.
We really like it here. Its great in the glasshouse areas with all the tropical plants. The outside gardens look different all year round with Spring and Autumn being the best in my opinion.
Great play areas for the kids (& adults). Peacocks are brilliant.
Take your own picnic as the onsite restaurant gets really busy and is rather expensive.
Car parking can be pretty tight as when we went, it was the last space (half term). Parking is free as pong as you enter your reg inside the reception area.
C. E.
We loved every minute of our visit. Lovely daffs, though going over, Camillas and blossom trees. Ice Age was wonderful plenty for children. On the main lawn there was foam Ice bergs the children were climbing and jumping on. A lovely day out and not too expensive.
J. A.
Crowded tropical flora displayed in a very warm and humid greenhouse with a delightful koi pond leads onto well kept gardens and an expansive lawn.
Very mature and tall trees adorn well paved grounds with obscure signage pointing the way to various 'exhibits'.
The Japanese Garden was of particular interest but ultimately a disappointment, with caged displays marring the view of some beautiful bonsai.
A small aviary housed some colourful bird species such as the Azure-winged Magpie and Purple Glossy Starling, both stunning.
Inside were some Finch species together in a large cage.
Peacocks roam freely and are not afraid, bold enough even to jump on the tables outside to peck at the leftover baked beans from another visitor's lunch.
The cafe offers a selection of snacks and desserts from super food salads, gammon egg and chips, fruit and cakes.
A bit on the pricey side for me, (superfood salad was £5.00) so we had a pot of tea and 2 slices of Victoria sponge cake for £13.00 and was very nice.
There are a few play areas and playgrounds for little ones (toddlers).
All in all a lovely place, with absolutely loads of wonderful plants that I haven't even touched on.
Entry reasonably priced too.
Would recommend.
A. G.
Parking is very limited and if there is a wedding on you don't stand a change. If you get a space it's absolutely worth it. The gardens are fabulous along with the hot house Japanese garden and butterfly house. Brilliant for macro photography. Nice place to have a picnic and a massive area to let the kids run around. The Cafe is good a bit pricey as always at these places. They seem to have a lot of kids activities on.
P. L.
This is an oasis in the city, if you live near I would recommend getting an annual pass. it's also a lovely day out for the whole family with two play areas.
S.
Great day out with the kids. Plenty of space and sights to see. My 3yr old daughter loved the butterfly house, parrots and children's playground. We visited more than a few times this summer to make the most of our 6month family tickets following the Paw Patrol event. We all had a fantastic time.
M.
Fantastic gardens - definitely worth a visit. Gardens are well laid out with good footpaths throughout. Lots of different types of planting - hot-houses through to bog gardens. I liked the fact that they'd labelled lots of the plants with good descriptions about what the plant was used for. Fascinating! And the small but perfectly formed, National Bonsai Collection. Easy to get to, and easy parking. Lovely tea-room/cafe with a good range of food.
D. B.
A good fill in place for a few hours with the family. Nice cafe with variety of food, cheap morning out if you’ve got some else planned on the same day
M. B.
Absolute lovely place. Great day out for anyone especially those who enjoy the outdoors. Such a variety of plants to see. Very beautiful and educational. The tea room is very clean, fairly priced and the food and drink are very nice, would definitely recommend eating here.
e. l.
The team did a fantastic job to recover the place after the severe storms. The member looked after the shop was very caring and helpful.
Thank you.
Y. V.
We had a fantastic time at the botanical Gardens today - free entry today only, which was amazing too. Gray range of flowers and plants alike. Some peacocks roam freely, which is pretty cool. Overall, magical little place to come and visit. I'd recommend not bringing a pushchair at the weekend and especially not during the free event, it's so rammed, there isn't much point. Nearly saw someone fall off a mobility scooter too, went around the corner too fast - luckily, nothing happened to her, because she was able bodied and put her foot out to stop herself. Close call!
N. P.
An oasis of colour and perfect for a relaxing wander to marvel at nature...there are some weird and wonderful plants here and great trails in the garden to explore...
The paths are fully accessible for wheelchairs and pushchairs and you can hire a scooter from reception if you have difficulty walking.
I’d recommend visiting throughout the seasons as there is always something new to see- but do take a picnic as the patchy reviews of the food in the cafe are sadly true...
H. N.
Such a lovely place. Well kept, clean and staff are friendly. Children's play area is fantastic. The actual gardens and areas to walk through are beautiful. Great for a day out
B. K.
Beautiful grounds and a nice selection of exotic plants, as well as a fantastic collection of bonsai trees. Surprising hidden gem was the cafe, lovely food and delicious cakes.
L. J.
Always great events hosted here. We've been before to see a Halloween Night Walk, dinosaurs roaming and most recently, Ice Age. The events are always well organised and it's always beautiful to walk around the gardens. The Japanese garden is always somewhere I go to as it is such a peaceful place.
M. A.
Beautiful gardens, plenty to see and do. There's a play area for kids too. Definitely go on a Sunday to see the live music! The acoustics are amazing. Perfect opportunity for a picnic.
R. D.
We visited here for the 'The Lost Kingdom: Ice Age' my little boy loved seeing all the prehistoric animals, I highly recommend anyone interested in this subject to go. Apart from the animals the gardens looked really nice and well looked after
M. M.
We came to the 'Ice Age' event which the kids enjoyed, however the gardens themselves are stunning. Will be even better in summer with everything in bloom.
Got lucky enough to see one of the peacocks in full show-off mode!
E. A.
Absolutely fabulous! Came for the gardens and afternoon tea on a voucher with my mum. Also brought my dad, and paid for his entry. The guys dealing with afternoon tea were fantastic, especially as we snuck my dad in extra (we thought it'd be in the cafe and we could just buy coffee and cake. It's not). They provided extra sandwiches and coffee to make sure the food stretched between three, and the food and service was excellent. The plants and gardens themselves were beautiful as always. Always enjoy looking at the birds too 😊
M. K.
Botanical garden is an amazing place filled with so many plants from all over the world...
It has many places to visit. There's a park, cafés and a gift shop. There's many seating places where you can sit and eat and admire the view. There are peacocks and gooses that Rome the garden. They are very beautiful.near the cafeteria there is a birdhouse where you can see the birds chirping... There is parking and disabled parking as well. there is also disabled entrance... You can also go with friends and have lots of fun. Overall I give this a 5/5!!
A. G.
Very nice place to visit. Especially on a hot day. Nice paths to walk among the plants and flowers. Live music entertaining and nice outdoor cafe. Decent parking, albeit small and nice little gift shop.
G. M.
I decided to join on a bit of a whim, having no particular interest in gardening etc. I love it here, though! It's well worth the annual membership to get a break from the city, and it allows you to see the changing seasons. Spring is particularly beautiful and it changes from week to week.
Great playground for kids, and little nooks and crannies for those trying to avoid them. There are a birds, chickens and butterflies for when you've had enough of the flowers. The hot house houses exotic plants and fish.
The coffee shop is OK, but they could do so much better if they made it into a proper tearoom with more delicious homemade cakes etc. Function rooms look a bit tired and the toilets are in desperate need of renovation.
Staff and the cockatoo are friendly. Lots of plants available in the shop, if feeling inspired!
M. A.
Nice place to visit, lots of roses and flowers. You can spend the whole afternoon there.
I came here with my wife for a romantic "picnic" and it was lovely♥️
Make sure it is not raining so you can enjoy the full experience
J. W.
Nice Gardens: far bigger than expected, lots of interesting plants and different parts to visit. The cafe and giftshop a bit dated though but went for the gardens, not for cake or shopping.
P. U.
Been going here for over 30 years. Still love it today. It's such a great space. Lot's of different plants 💐and trees. Don't miss the handkerchief tree in March when the white handkerchief like leaves are out 🍃~ such a site to see. There is the Japanese garden with Bonsai trees🌳 (very old behind bars ~ but you can still see them clearly). The hot house is great with Koi carp 🐟this used to be positioned differently so you didn't walk from reception. The cactus house is great🌵 ~ nice and cosy in the winter months. They also have exhibitions on for example masive (pretty much life size) dinosaurs 🐊that moved. The children loved these so much. You had to pay extra for this but we were in all day. There is also a live brass band in nice weather🎺🥁. Don't miss the bog a favorite of all children (along with the extensive children's play park). Would recommend a visit.
w. s.
Had a fabulous time at the Botannical Gardens. It has an Ice Age Exhibition on at the moment so you are paying for this so check the prices. The Gardens are beautiful. Not so keen on the caged birds. Lovely cafeteria and the shop and plants that you can buy are lovely. The Ice Age Experience is definitely an experience. Some of the moving exhibits are brilliant and hear them roar! The virtual reality section is brilliant and costs 5.00. Beautiful day for a beautiful side of Bham.
M. W.
Lovely place to visit. Had beautiful weather and had a picnic over looking the gardens. Great little icecream place while walking around the gardens. Staff were really frendly. Butterfly house was good and lots flying around the gardens as well.
J. G.
A friend recommended we checked this out and we were not disappointed! The lanterns are set in an ideal setting, it's super dark so the lanterns look incredible.. especially on pics! It's a good walk around so wear sensible shoes (I didn't!) Great for families and there's places to grab a drink and snack along the route, there's even a Santa's grotto! Would definitely come back next year!
B. B.
Had a wonderful stroll around the gardens. Saw some amazing flowers and got up and close with a few peacocks.
Shame the weather was a bit hit and miss with the rain.
A. A.
Well maintained, the staff were so helpful and the variety of plant species was overwhelming. Best part was that the kids enjoyed the experience as well as the facilities provided for them were exceptional, will definitely be going again and again
B. K.
Magical Lantern Garden is a nice event to go for families with young children. There's no parking space available so you need to look for it on surrounding streets. There's several places you can buy something to eat and drink. Toilets are also available.
J. S.
Loved it, amazing gardens and a lovely walk... decent tea room and safe for children to play in the park also very friendly members of staff.
E. B.
great place well maintained. the dinosaur event is lovely major let down for this place is lack of parking. if u put an event on like this u have to expect it to draw the crowds after pre booking tickets online insure we could get in we still ended up driving around for 40 mins trying to park. should be advertised as no parking. take public transport be far easier. would of given 5 stars but lack of parking and the fact the website doesn't advise to leave the car at home bit of a joke in school holidays with a popular event like this.
D. D.
Superb place to walk around, relax and now they even have a kids playground too.
B. P.
Lovely interesting gardens anytime of year. I benefited from visiting on a quiet spring morning in beautiful sunshine. Staff were helpful, toilets clean and nice little shop.
T. L.
It's definitely not a place to go in the winter (although it was supposed to be spring). Quite pricey for my son to have ten minutes on the playground & five watching fish! In Summer it's a totally different place with activities on etc. Amazing for events too. I'd not seen the Japanese garden before this visit however which I thought was nice.
J. D.
Great place to go on a sunny day, my daughter loves here so much we had to buy the membership.
K. P.
Found this as part of a stopover travelling further south. A hidden gem with a wide variety of plants and trees. A surprising number of things in flower under the glass houses in late December. Lovely grounds great for a gentle walk and lots of interest. The Magic Lantern show looked into giving but we had to be elsewhere when it was on. Excellent tasty sandwiches in cafe and good value. Lovely friendly staff. We'll be back! Come and support them.....
M. W.
If u r interested in botany n species of plants specially bonsai art then its for u otherwise good for hanging out walk around enjoying different colours of flowers in spring is best time to visit then also some birds species as well for kids to enjoy or u can just sit there n have good time in nature plenty of options to choose from now choice is urs
L.
We had a fab morning at the botanical gardens visiting the jurrasic exhibition. The kids loved the moving dinosaurs and playing on the parks. We enjoyed wandering around the lovely gardens.think I would like to visit again without the crowds!
Parking not an issue for us as we had checked the website and knew to expect to find a road spot.
C. G.
Beautiful, beautiful wander round very relaxing. Customer service in the cafe was not great, there was very little choice available and staff relating to customers could do with some work, but other than that a generally lovely experience.
C. W.
We visited here for the Halloween event. Although we had timed tickets we still had to queue up for quite a bit as they were only letting so many people in at a time. Once we were in it started off well and then went downhill. It felt rushed and we weren't really involved in the production as much as I had hoped. Before we knew it was all over. A bit disappointed. We did however meet some rather interesting characters, none of which were involved in the production unfortunately.
M. M.
An amazing place! Will be going back again and again. Can't wait to visit next time to see what changed and what flowers are blooming next time. Lovely coffee shop and gift shop.
J. W.
Absolutely love the Birmingham botanical gardens. It’s such a nice space with lots of different sections.
a. a.
Nice place to visit. Relaxation for mind and soul. With clean and peaceful surroundings.
D. S.
An excellent and very inexpensive day out .The green house has a large collection of interesting plants .The grounds are well laid out with some lovely flowers and trees.A small restaurant provides something to eat and drink. There are several toilets facilities about the place and a small gift shop.
S. T.
Lovely gardens and beautiful flowers!
However we were made to pay and see the ice age exhibit which we didn't want to, meaning the gardens were much noisier than usual, plus the exhibit was poor.
M. S.
Always worth a visit if u in the area. The sun brings everyone out. Wedding functions can be taking place and parking can be difficult or impossible. The cafe is a useful spot for a tea spot.
W. W.
Most diverse plant collection in the Midlands. Unique tree fern found no where else in the world. Beautiful, varied gardens tended by a friendly team of horticulturists.
H. W.
Had a lovely day here despite the rain. The garden has a good range of plants and a variety of environments. Not all the plants were labelled but that's about the only negative.
S. M.
Went for the evening lights. Was generally well thought through. However it was a little bit annoying that if you wanted your children to go on the rides at the end you had to queue a second time. Not all that buggy friendly but fine if you are with people to help. Lights were lovely and not too long for little ones.
B. N.
Friendly staff. Very sweet and well kept gardens and greenhouses. Wished they had more exciting plants to sell. Loved all their ferns.
M. G.
Not a bad Botanical Gardens, have been to much bigger but this was still a beautiful gardens. I thought cafe/restaurant was nice as well. Worth a visit
G. R.
Spent around 3 hours there. Lovely gardens with plenty of different planting schemes and good info on plants. Nice cafe and gift shop
A. B.
Great place ..And lovely to walk in the fresh air , feels like miles from the city ..but Not. Going around ice age was fun and maked us jump a few time (much to the delight of some younger kids )
Д. Х.
Lovely open spaces. Interesting range of plants. It's all getting a bit tierd now and needs a significant investment.
The car park is a mess - come on Botanical Gardens, get this mess sorted!!
Is it worth! 7.00?? Only just.
M. H. (.
The botanical gardens is a beautiful peaceful attraction just outside the city centre with plenty variety for those who love nature with Japanese and Bonsai Garden, tea room terrace and gardens whatever the weather there is something to see, it is wheelchair accessible although sometime not obvious how to get to certain areas, but staff are friendly and helpful if you are in a manual chair and not an active user you may need help around the gardens.
A. ..
Lovely gardens. Pushchair friendly for families. Lots of benches to stop and have a break/take in the scenery. Plenty of grass to have a picnic on. The park is lovely for the children wide age range and ability - and adults if yours still young at heart. However, parking isn't fantastic.
L. R.
Beautiful gardens had a lovely day spent there in the sun only down side, one member of staff in coffee shop was rude and unprofessional. Would definitely go again but would take my own food and drink.
O. C.
Come in the morning and spend all day!
April is a magic month! Flowers are everywhere!
There is a playground, cafe, rooms for weddi gs!
A lot of people do photoshoot here!
I. M.
I have to say I was surprised how much I enjoyed the stroll around the grounds. Lovely selection of plants and to see some of the autumnal colours was great. Not sure if a regular thing for a sunday afternoon but a small band were playing too.
C. N.
Beautiful gardens, lovely live music on summer Sunday afternoons. Like a National Trust place, pricy for a single entry, bargain for annual entry.
J. B.
Great place to visit. Not too large but beautiful. Not too costly. Nice playgrounds for young children. Cafe nice too and not too over priced. Would recommend.
I. J.
Went to the light show during Christmas time. Really magical and worth seeing!
Could have been alittle longer and Wish there were churos on sale!
But otherwise a phenomenal experience to get out at night!
H. S.
Really beautiful gardens, stunning flowers. There is also an excellent play area for children which kept my toddler amused for hours!! Definitely worth a visit.
D. A.
Beautiful gardens with the most interesting and varied plants. Children's play area. Bird sanctuary. Tea room selling the best fish and chips ever. You will not be disappointed.
A. M.
After a bad start with the most un helpful arrogant parking attendant you could ever meet, we did eventually enjoy our day once in. The dinosaur walk was great and the whole family enjoyed it. It does mention about parking on the website but parking is a major issue its a good half mile at best along busy roads and tight pathways which is fine if you don't have 3 kids and all their gear.
A. R.
I don’t know when I got old enough to enjoy a botanical garden but this was a lovely trip out.
Possibly on the pricey side (what’s reasonable anyway?) but a delightful bunch of greenhouses and gardens to stroll through.
F. B.
Perfect for a family day out. Good public transport connections. Baby changing facilities and high chair friendly in their cafe. Staff are friendly and helpful. Not great if it's pouring with rain as mostly outside. But the cafe is a decent size and their are indoor areas.
E. A.
Well worth a visit amazing place and cakes good too
R. H.
We attended the magical lantern festival in Birmingham botanical garden yesterday. Really wonderful and my daughter enjoyed very much. A must attend for all specially the children.
J. F.
Great day out all the kids loved it xx
D. M. I.
Nice place to visit with family. Beautiful park , garden . Today, there is a dinosaur show. Robot dinosaurs moving and growling. Overall , good place to spend time.
l. w.
Such a lovely place to walk around with the family and an amazing variety of plants, trees and flowers to look at; especially loved the cacti and succulents near the exit. Sat and had a lovely picnic outside and there are free roaming pea cocks and pea hens and even a baby one! Bit sad the butterfly houses wasn't open due to covid but still a fantastic time had by all!
S. F.
Nice gardens and greenhouses but a little sparse at the moment as its been closed die to covid rules. Tea shop closed too !
p. m.
The gardens look fairly unassuming from the road but inside there are a surprising number of areas all quite distinct with a number of winding paths. The layout makes the gardens seem much bigger than they are, to it's benefit. The glass houses have a variety of different zones and kids will love the noisy birds in the aviaries.
S. W.
What a treasure! I had a wonderful afternoon and enjoyed the experience so much that I treated myself to a membership for the year. Beautiful and relaxing. My mother was very impressed as well.
I. H.
Great place good for kids too not as big as we thought but very good morning was had. Cafe was nice as well.
G. M. f. D.
Beautiful place for all the family...
Children's play area too...
Nice cafeteria and reasonable prices...
Disability scooters and disabled wheelchairs for hire...
A lovely day out......👍
P. P.
A really enjoyable visit, even in the rain. Great selection and the grounds are lovely. Traditional tea room for afternoon tea and cakes. Staff are very friendly and all in all a very pleasant way to spend an afternoon.
I. Z.
Very nice place to visit if you like plants and birds.
R. H.
Nice place. Lovely gardens in and out and nice coffee shop. Maybe a little over priced but probably worth it.
A.
First time being here and we came for the Christmas lantern show it was amazing my daughter and family loved the park itself we want to come in summer next year see exactly what it's like 😍🎄
J. C.
Visited dinosaur experience. Had a wonderful time
j. l.
Gorgeous place. So many varieties of plants.really enjoyed our visit. Only negative is some of the fish looked poorly in the indoor pond
M. H.
Booked an Airbnb in the Birmingham area to see family, but saw this was nearby - so on the day we were leaving we booked online and then turned up. I'm so glad we did. What a lovely venue; grounds, hot houses and tea rooms a pleasure to visit. All staff we saw were friendly, and the plants in the shop were in great condition (and we bought a few)
N. H.
Lovely garden in the heart of the city. Very popular & the car park can get full. Inside are many botanical zones, which are well populated by plants from these regions. Lots of open spaces too for kids to run around in & nice eateries to stop by for a snack. Enjoyed my visit.
A. C.
Great escape to see the a huge variety of plants and some birds, probably only takes 2-3 hours tops, but well worth it.
a. q.
A beautiful park. Nice playground.
A. S.
My experience was wonderful! Loved the tropical garden and the peacocks. Felt inspired. Will definitely visit again.
J. W.
Great little day out. Very relaxing and some lovely areas and displays to walk amongst.
S.
Nice day out for visiting the dinosaurs when they were there. Staff friendly, clean and tidy.
A. S.
Visited for the magical lantern festival before Christmas, the lights were very pretty and it would be interesting to see the garden again in the daylight. Highlight was buying and toasting a large blueberry and gin marshmallow from "The Marshmallowist” stall, over an open wood fire pit.
N. D.
It was wonderful and full of perfumes. Take something if you suffer hayfever
L. H.
Yet another Christmas treat for the family that we go to every year. A lovely display of lights and lanterns. Worth a visit!
M. J.
A beautiful place ❣️
S.
Amazing collection of plants from around the world. Indoor and outdoor exhibits. Parking is free (up to 12 hours once you register in reception), and there is a lovely tea room and huge playground for the kids. The family and I could have spent all day here if we didn't have other things on our agenda.
M. S.
Great day out, sunny, great vibes with music playing in the background, spacious place just to air the head and clear your mind. Would go back again!
p. S.
2nd visit, not enough parking, nice walk but not free anymore, has some caged birds , fish and loads of plants , gets warm in the indoor area , and the pretty peacock they let loose wasn’t there this time
L.
Enjoyable and educational.
N. A.
Had a lovely time at the christmas light event. Only took an hour to go round . Very clever with the lights and music as you go round. Staff very chatty and helpful.
S. W.
Nice gardens for a break away from the city hustle and bustle.
B. B.
Wonderfull place which gave me feeling live closer to nature, far away from the city. Perfect for walk. You can see here huge range of plant, trees and even birds. Runs a lots of events. Has cafeteria and toilets. Friendly for wheelchair users and families. I love peacocks walking freely around. Has gift shop also.
S. F.
Excellent value for money, amazing plants and relaxing gardens. Loved the hot houses
A. H.
Such a beautiful place. So peaceful . Great staff and yummy food in the cafe. Great day out.
K. S.
Absolutely love this place! Wish the butterfly farm was open but I went at the wrong time of year! Deffo going there again 😍😍
A. B.
Not all open due to covid restrictions... But lovely area. Say Hello to the parrot by the exit, you won't regret it!
C. O.
The botanical gardens are quite nice to stroll around, but there are nicer gardens in London area. If you're bored in Birmingham would recommend for 1-2 hours.
N. M.
went during the xmas winter wonderland lights show. it was magical. kids enjoyed themselves. only downside was the parking. had to park on street as parking was full and it was a bit of a walk.
g. i.
My first time visiting and won't be my last, some beautiful plants and gardens to walk around indoors and outside. We spent a few hours taking photos and didn't even see the whole place. I would definitely recommend for a nice afternoon walk.
P. M.
Great selection of plants.
L. B.
Although winter, there was plenty of colour and interest around, and I can certainly recommend their lemon drizzle cake
F. J.
Visiting Birmingham? You definitely need to visit this place! Easy parking and lovely atmosphere!
S. W.
Beautiful grounds!! So much to see & even a wonderful park for children!! Great family outing!
J. R.
Interesting gardens. Beautiful tropical house. Fortunate to hear some bluesy jazz being played on the bandstand. Lovely place to wander.
V. D.
Good place to spend in city. Butterfly garden is disappointed. But free roaming peacocks and new born chicks made our day. Visit cactus house to see chick.
J. S.
Quiet and peaceful. Lots of colour. Great for a very pleasant and relaxing two or three hours.
Y. 6.
Fantastic place. Beautiful gardens and paths to explore. Plenty to do. Great play area for children.
y. t.
Beautiful gardens in the centre of the city. The restaurant is very nice as well good food at very affordable prices
M. S.
So many lanterns! They all look great! Definitely would recommend. Make sure you go into the tropical house and see the resident cat who lives there too - super friendly!
U. B.
All plants and trees looks very well treated and have information about them. Garden is spacious and thre is numerous themed walkways.
M. T. P.
A wonderful outdoor experience that revitalizes all of your senses and leaves you with an unending appreciation of the beauty of nature.
L. G.
Lovely grounds to walk around with a beautiful selection of plants and flowers, lovely selection of cakes and reasonable priced plants in the shop
M. Z.
Nice day out with the family, parking was an issue very few spots. The garden has a play area for kids when they get bored at looking at the flowers and birds. Glad we took our own sandwiches and snack food, not much options for kids if they have preference for certain food. We got some ice cream there and was an overall nice vist. Tickets at full price are little on the expensive side however
L. B.
Absolutely amazing magical place
Has wonderful landscapes, beautiful wildlife and even a little play area for the kids!
Well worth a visit!
A. M.
Beautiful place to relax and take your childen or girlfriend or boyfriend, nice to relax and look at all the different flowers the place has to offer
j. A.
Lovely plants, great in the summer when the band is playing, lots of exotic birds and different things to see
K. J.
A pleasant way to spend some time. The staff were friendly and approachable.
S. R.
Unfortunately not much in bloom outside when we visited towards the end of March.
This didn't stop us from enjoying our visit.
An enjoyable walk around the greenhouses led us to the bonsai collection, then on to a handsome white parrot who greeted us with a cheery "hello."
A stroll around the grounds led us through some lovely spaces and past a fairly large children's play area.
We had walked a big circuit and found ourselves walking past the same cheery parrot who bid us "bye bye."
Our entrance was £7.50 per adult including gift aid.
We had a good few hours walking around. Would love to come back in the summer with a picnic.
Convenient bus stops near by. Parking looked limited but was free when you validated it inside with your reg no.
A. W.
For a gentle wander and relax, you can't go wrong with a visit to the Botanical Gardens.
S. A.
It's so good to tale young children. They will be amazed by the peacocks who will follow you around if they spot food. There's also a plau ground for both ypung and older children and a restaurant too. A fantastic day out for the family.
J. C.
Beautiful gardens & fascinating species of plants to view in the various types of greenhouses. Brilliant day out~ take a picnic & eat in the grounds or visit the tea room.
M. M.
Lovely grounds, very peaceful and a great little nursery to buy some plants from.
P. B.
Was only here for a couple of hours while my wife did some photography, I'm not really into the green fingered life! But it was nicely.
Only disappointment was finding a strawberry tree with no strawberries! 😁🤣
S. O.
We went for the lantern festival and it was spectacular something children would really enjoy they did a grotto there was food of all different kinds And a gift shop at the end was lovely.
J. W.
We were on a city break staying in Central Birmingham so decided to walk to the gardens as it was quite a nice day for October. Although on the satellite view it looks quite small they have packed in so much to see. There are several glasshouses with different climates and plants, footpaths meandering through all manner of planting schemes, two aviaries and a good cafe. We spent a happy 2 to 3 hours here and would certainly return if in Birmingham again.
M. A.
Beautiful place, even in the winter. Always something going on and a very nice walk for the family
I. C.
Nature in the city lovely
F. F.
Such a pretty place, so many amazing plants and birds. A great day out!
M. C.
Visited today to see the dinosaurs exhibition, a bit disappointed of their quality and small sizes, not quite respecting the facts. Also for the admission price I was expecting to see some of the indoors plants or more parts of the gardens, most of it had barriers.
Might be an excellent attraction for kids but not so much for adults.
N. k.
A beautiful place, plants and a place for little ones to explore. Have cafe and toilet.
S. D.
First visit and I wasn't disappointed. The gardens are well maintained and full of interesting plants. The hot houses are exotic, the fish are enormous. I signed up as a member, which entitles me to free parking. The membership fee is very reasonable and will pay for itself in three visits.
A. v. E.
The Magical Lanterns were beautiful but the numbers attending made it easy to walk around and chat with family who csme with us. We got our tickets for a great price with Groupon. 10 degrees and wind still. Lovely.
D. G.
Lovely atmosphere!children were delighted with the displays and seing Santa!nice food as well!
D. N.
great place for a wonder. loved seeing all the different flowers
M. M.
A little bit over priced. They don't water plants. Some of then were too dry. Place nice and clean.
W. B.
Very peaceful and relaxing day out with the missus and the little terrors. Very well kept gardens.
C. M.
Great day out for all ages, plenty of see with many varieties of plants and flowers as well as animals. It's like an oasis in the heart of Birmingham. There is something for everyone from walking and relaxing to sitting for a bite to eat, there's even a shop to visit in the grounds with delightful goods for sale. I would definitely recommend a visit!
A. R.
Exceptionally well maintained gardens with a large variety of plants / trees from all over the world. Staff were excellent, and the souvenir shop had a good selection of products. The only improvement could be the car park which was rather tight and clearly not cut out to accommodate the large volumes of visitors. Overall, a great place to visit in Birmingham.
I.
Very good looking place if you want a change of scenery. Was very quiet and plants didn't look like they were very cared for but nonetheless was a good time out!
A. R.
Great for holiday events. This one ice age Easter week 2019. April Fab...
N. H.
Not bad. Could do with a tidy up. Kids are free which is great and the play area is really nice. The cafe is good, I think i may not have paid for the Cornetto I had which makes me feel a bit guilty, until I remembered how much is was to get in. Probs won't go again. Send that one peacock with the gammy neck to the vets.
O. S.
I personally thought this was a waste of time and money. But I guess it's aimed young children. My 8 year old lad didn't enjoy it. But others might. I took some photos
H. C.
Lovely place to visit especially with children.
t. a.
Excellent theme when i visited (ice age). Require more maintenance therefore i reduced one star. Family enjoyed the visit and it was fun family day out.
E. W.
Beautiful walk, we go when the events are on like the dinosaur walks or lanterns. They impress everytime. The walks are accessible and the services are ran well and are clean. Good afternoon outing.
R. H.
Never been before, what a great find, the Jurassic encounter is great for kids
S. W.
Beautiful walks.many plants.plenty to see.lived the Japanese garden 😁
M. M.
Attended the Magical Lantern Festival there and it was beautiful. Want to go there again in the daytime!
p. m.
Went there today with my family was clean tidy loverly place to visit and spend time there would recomend to any one.
D. M.
Great place to spend some relaxing time and wonderful for event's!!!
R. H.
A nice outdoor space we enjoyed our visit. Although we were unhappy to see all the birds trapped up in the cages looking very Unwell and weary
and even to spot a robin that had accidentally flown into one of the cages
and got itself trapped. We do not think it is okay to trap poor birds in an ugly cages! Despite that it was a nice change to all the busy roads and tall skyscrapers in the centre of Birmingham.
k. g.
Wonderful gardens in the centre of Birmingham
A. M.
Beautiful as always and you notice new things each time. Beware the new parking charge though and check the situation. I got sent £100 fine which was an error because the machines weren't working. Luckily I was able to speak to the very efficient lady at reception to sort it out.
L. L.
Wonderful. We went for the Magical Lantern Festival on 19th December. Truly was magical. Thank you
I.
Went for a wedding and it was great. Nice setting for photos, food was great as were the staff.
E. B.
We Took mum for her birthday booked ahead for afternoon tea, well worth it mum really enjoyed it, lots of beautiful grounds not just botanical Gardens in green houses, but even they were interesting.
D. S.
Went to the gardens for the Magical Lanterns Festival which was very good.Only four stars because food outlets few and far between and expensive.
V. C.
Lovely place for family to visit
B. L.
Wonderful place. Their social distancing regulations were clearly marked out. The food in the tea room was lovely and served fresh and quickly to prevent too many people waiting at any one time. Any staff I interacted with were welcoming and quick to help.
S. P.
Fantastic. Great value and I really loved it.
K. S.
Really great varieties of plants, you cold spend a whole day here relaxing in different garden settings, absolutely beautiful. The cafe had great refreshments too. Definitely worth bringing family and friends here.
d.
Great place to go. Especially as they got the lantern display for Christmas on at moment also the got Santa's grotto there.we took the kids there last night and they really enjoyed themselves.
M.
Very beautiful place to visit with family of all ages.
M. H.
Really enjoyed the dinosaur event. Spent at least a couple of hours wandering round. Parking a bit difficult, as the carpark is shut during the event so had to find road parking elsewhere and walk
A. J.
Very pretty and well kept. Its more of sightseeing there and just a nice getaway. Theres a tea room if you want food but you can always bring your own. Theres a bandstand and sometimes they play live music. Loadsss of species of plants, so if u like plants, do go!
s.
We visited the Christmas lights display. An hour spent walking around the arboretum with some great light shows. Father Christmas was on hand for the little ones and of course the big believer's too. Reasonable facilities but very over priced drinks and "seasonal snacks" Road side parking was free after 6 pm
K. R.
It looked a bit unloved in places. The hot House plants needed maintenance. There was a peahen with her baby following her everywhere. The peacock didn't display his plume
Nice day out.
T. A.
Beautiful place. Has a lovely play area for the kids. Lovely birds and parrots in the aviaries and the peacocks roam free.
B. A. M.
Very nice place. Big diversity of plants and trees. They are offering free concerts from 2pm to 4pm during 2021 summer. Nice place to learn about flowers and plants and also great place to connect with the nature.
C. D.
It's hard to believe you are in the middle of a city, once you walk through to the gardens. There are lots of trails and different areas to explore, from rock gardens to ponds, aviary and a butterfly house are a few. Really enjoyed the afternoon wandering about
J. M.
Nice place to relax and enjoy the gardens. Beautiful.
L. D.
Lovely day out. Went to see Ice Age the lost kingdom. Would recommend nice to walk around and see something different
K. K.
Enjoy every second of the beautiful spring day walk.
L. F.
Great refurbished playground area for children of all ages
E. J.
On the couple of occasions that we have been, we chose wonderful, sunny days which has meant we’ve seen the gardens in all their glory! Really lovely day out, plenty to see and a great cafe. Bonsai collection is fab and we even bought one of our own bonsai trees from you. Peacocks and gift shop are also highlights!
S. I.
Stunning, amazing place to come and unwind yourself. One place everyone needs to come to
K. S.
Great time at the Halloween scarefest. Best to get tickets on Groupon else is expensive. The actors were very good and very convincing... The kids were scared.
k. a.
Fantastic afternoon meandering through beautiful gardens. Listening to birdsong .... plenty of places to dodge the showers
G. P.
Birmingham has its own mini Kew gardens here and it's definitely worth a wander around.
H. F.
Great gardens with amazing warm and generate houses. Lovely outside area too and a café that offers great food to even better prices
Z. T.
Stunning place. The redwood trees are huge!
I. F.
Easy to find, easy to park ( although meters out of order and warned to retain receipt!) Slightly disappointed at flowers and colours, but taken major bashing with the heavy rain. Plenty to do and see, but site does look a little tired in places. Will go again though, to see it in different seasons.
Z. B.
Loved it. So much disabled access and such gorgeous grounds. What I most loved is the fact there are so many benches so one could sit anywhere. Beautiful and clean. Loved it and also there is a gift shop and a light bite cafe
J. G.
The main banqueting suite was just too hot! Other than that it was good.
S. c.
My fave all time best garden in Birmingham and love the tea rooms and shops xxx
S. D.
I was a little sceptical about going to this event but it’s really rather magical. The effects are nice and well executed.
P. S.
Pleasant place for a visit. Plenty of room for a picnic if desired. Great aviary and hot houses. Missing a star as entry took nearly half an hour, even though we arrived 30 minutes after it opened and even with an online booking number, as there was only one member of box office staff available.
D. G.
The lantern festival today was brilliant. V spectacular. The penguins were the best. Def recommend this for all ages
A. P.
Beautiful gardens and very informative about the uses of many plants, some quite surprising.
S. M.
We spent a few hours walking the grounds of these beautiful Botanical Gardens. I recommend a visit.
D. H.
Even in winter there is plenty to see, especially in the glasshouses. The fish are easy to watch in the glass clear pool in the Tropical House.
J. S.
Great place to go in spring or summer, nice place to have a picnic, good parking space, nice shop.
W. A.
my plan was to do some flower identification photography, I was really surprized by how many species of flowers and plants are there, not expensive tickets, parking is free but you need to register your car at the reception. I will definitely visit this place again.
I. G.
The indoor plants could do with sorting out as a few dead ones and most need an overhaul. Otherwise, very pleasant day out. Parking good, ltd food choice but i think you can bring your own. Nice day out.
N. T.
A really nice place to spend an afternoon even at the beginning of March. My first time and I'll definitely come back again in the summer now
e. r.
Lantern festival at the Botanical garden. Well done up. Very pretty. Pleasant outing for young and old if the weather is good!
T. Y.
The Christmas Lights are amazing. The light show is beautiful. The staff was very friendly.
B.
Went to the magical lantern festival as we do every year. 5 stars for the last 2 years, but this year felt a bit underwhelming. Displays weren't as good as previous and worst of all the marshmallow toasting stand wasn't there this year. Good but worse than last year
e. k.
This is a truly lovely setting. My niece got married there last weekend. Every event we have had here has been magical. Including simple family days out and picnics.
J. G.
Nice day out birds and plants to look at. Long walks around the gardens. Coffee shop clean and tidy. Can get packed some days but most enjoyable.
K. M.
Went for Christmas lantern show. Was a lovely night out and great for kids!
S. P. C.
We had a lovely day at botanical Gardens at Country and Western Festival
s. c.
There are some harsh reviews of this place on TripAdvisor this year, but this garden was shut over lockdown and I would have thought most staff were furloughed, therefore not surprising if some things aren't quite as preened as they might be. Some bits of the gardens have apparently been slightly forgotten by management for a bit longer though. Café food and drinks are great but beware early closing times of the café kitchen for hot food
C. H.
Visited for the winter gardens, really enjoyed it. Thought it was a bit short however.
m. h.
Fantastic. Staff on duty very helpful thank you. Wonderful experience shared with family & friends at reasonable cost.
R. S.
Went with the family during Jurassic Encounter event, very busy but everyone enjoyed themselves, always good to go the gardens any time of year.
P. H.
Love this garden, nestled right in the middle of Birmingham. Larger than I thought with a great array of trees, shrubs and cacti. Small but excellent standard of Bonsai as well. Bird avary has some cool birds. Good food from the Caffè all be it a little slow with the new staff. Children's play area looks fun but to old to test that..
A. A.
Nice family day out, if you are into your exotic plants then you are in the right place and there are birds there
A. C.
A really nice place to visit for 2-3 hours. Wander around the gardens, see a huge variety of different plants and flowers, see the peacocks wander around the grounds, listen to jazz music from the bandstand and relax in a place that focuses on mother nature. They have a butterfly house, ponds and much more.
Definitely worth a visit if you're in need of some R&R
On a side note - the cafe isn't the best. It was a busy day, so there wasn't many soft drinks available in the fridge. It took quite a while to queue and was rather generic. It's run by Aramark, a huge American company. Shame it's not run by locals for locals. Would be nice if they focused on locally sourced produce and more eco-friendly packaging.
D. B.
A real discovery when visiting family. Even though it was busy there are lots of spaces to get away from the other visitors and enjoy the amazing planting.
A shame that the cafe was only serving drinks.
N. A.
Cute place. Was a lovely day out with family. We got in for free. But it's worth paying some money in the summer. Lovey atmosphere.
M. A.
This place is full of natural beauty for the whole family to enjoy anytime of the year.If you looking for a nice day out with the family or friends then I recommend botanical gardens as a place to go ,allowing you to be one with nature, with food available if you feeling peckish with a good menu range to choose from. Definitely a fun day and adventurous day for the whole family, reasonably price so it doesn't break the bank, and am sure you would return to this beautiful landscape again and again.
K. F.
Had a lovely visit was a wedding going on in the garden which was lovely to see whilst enjoying a coffee and cake. Tables could have been cleared and cleaned more quickly didn't witness any cleaning or clearing away only by visitors.
A. C.
Well worth visiting - beautiful place. Will definitely go back.
Y. Q.
Been here a couple of times. Really nice and well kept. Regardless of the weather this is a nice place to visit. Also hosted "Magic Lantern" over New Year. That is as also amazing and fun.
M. S.
A lovely place to relax. Very clean and quiet, plenty of spaces to sit down and enjoy the views, and it is not far at all from the Birmingham city centre.
S. D.
We didn't even know this existed, so finding it was serendipitous. Easy access, beautiful gardens and friendly, helpful staff. A few areas needed some tlc bur considering the impact of the pandemic, I have nothing but praise for this place and its people.
G. S.
Went here for the first time for an event with the kids and loved it. We will definitely come back
M. S.
Lovely location and a great day out with friends and family. Looking forward to the day things open up fully to see concerts back in swing at the gardens. Highly recommend it!
D. C.
I went primarily to the Botanical Gardens to watch Tipitina who were the live act and they were enjoyable and pleased the audience. The Botanical Gardens is a hidden gem just outside of the City centre and is family friendly and is a deceptively spacious venue with a vast array of plants and a large lawn area ideal for relaxing picnics and walking trails to discover and view the multitude of plants and trees. There is a fine teashop "the Pavilion" (a venue once used by world leaders during a G8 summit and a plaque illustrates the leaders seating plan) and a good gift shop that also sells a variety of plant and vegetable seeds. Friendly staff. On a fine day the car park could be full though the venue is on a good public transport route.
P. D. V.
Beautiful garden, diverse for its surface, well kept. Also has a playground, which is nice if visiting with little ones. I don't go there to eat but they could exchange all the junk food and drinks they offer for something healthier.
k. x.
Lovely place so much to see especially if u like plants etc
K. L.
Beautiful gardens, stunning place
F. C.
Interesting grounds and animals, fun for all, and places to explore. 🌻😃
p. b.
Brilliant outdoor space, with a great variety of plants for all the seasons. Flora and fauna food for the soul. Well worth a visit, with free parking a bonus.
P. S.
It was too disorganized when we went for Jurassic Park visit. Nobody was following signs.Volunteers were present only at initial check point. At entry no signs were posted regarding on line booking. Overall too much priced for the event. No parking on site & poor directions offered for another car park.
S. A.
Visited for the jurrasic encounters. A couple of the dinos had some wear and tear but generally was a great experience. Would have liked more food options.
C. B.
52 years anniversary
Wonderful place. Great family venue. Lovely surroundings.
C. P.
Amazing place, definitely recommend going there, great value. Staff are friendly.
W. H.
Lovely gardens and open space, this weekend we went to see the dinosaurs, previously we have been to the christmas illumination walks, we love their space and the events they put on, its a great place for families.
M. M.
Amazing place and the lady Ruth who done the group co ordination for children was absolutely fantastic!! Recommend to go 🙂
J. S. M.
Very nice place to do picnics and get away from the city life, very close to Birmingham City centre. Has a wide variety of plants, birds and butterflies, and beautiful locations used for photoshoting.
R. H.
Had a lovely lunch (small but good choice of food) and the gardens were mostly empty as it was a squally day. Good autumnal visit!
B. S.
Absolutely beautiful perfect place for whole family live music definitely recommend to all the families
A. W.
Had a lovely afternoon. Well set out of you need to use a mobility scooter. Staff were very helpful and informative. The cappuccinos from the cafe are amazing.
k. b.
My boys loved it had a great day, will be going bk very soon 😘😘
M. H.
Nice garden trails to walk round with a good variety of plants to see. Although the hot houses were interesting I found wearing a face mask hard work due to the heat.and humidity
c.
Lovely place to visit. Larger than I thought. Has great children's play area, aviaries, beautiful gardens. Great place for a picnic.
M.
Magical gardens to visit, you will find plenty to see and experience.
There is also an aviary there with: blue and gold macaw, white cockatoos, lovebirds and fast moving African birds that you might see for the first time.
And you won't be short on sitting benches.
Space is used very wisely, loved it.
S. B.
Beautiful site and lovely for an afternoon or picnic, but parking is a nightmare. The car park is very small and we ended up leaving the car park to park the car on a different road which is about 10 mins walk from the site. Keep this on mind when you visit :)
A. D.
Great day out. Will come back a few times a year to see how it changes with the seasons.
A. C.
Amazing place to visit make sure you put this top of your list when in Birmingham. Friendly staff, beautiful planting and a handy cafe. Such a peaceful place with lots of places to explore.
K. D.
You don't actually need to pay to visit these lovely gardens. You can visit the gift shop, and have a sneaky peek through the window. Not that I would condone this practice.
L. G. C.
Great day out, surrounded by beautiful plants, nice coffee shop with terrace, interesting playgrounds for kids and even live music sometimes. I'll go again!
C. T.
I had a lovely morning at the Botanical Gardens. There is certainly lots to look at. I must also praise them for having both mobility scooters and wheelchairs available to use, free of charge. This meant I could access the whole site.
I look forward to going back when it is slightly warmer and the roses are in bloom.
A. K.
Great place for an afternoon out in the nature, without leaving the city! Unfortunately the greenhouse is closed now due to Covid restrictions, but there is still plenty of things to see for both- adults and children. There is a lovely café with excellent tea and cake and a well supplied, reasonably priced gift shop. A place worth visiting!
J. L.
Went for the magical lantern festival. It was lovely. A nice colourful walk
G. R.
Great day out. Beautiful gardens and informative displays.
B. B.
Had a great day out there the weather was lively and they had live music in the band stand but we felt it lacking a little TLC ( not up to kew standards) so only 4 stars.
J. H.
Fun day with kids!
A. S.
A hidden gem! A lovely day out and about getting some fresh air and green spac ein the city. Entry was cheap and there was plenty of space to explore.
K. S.
Great place to visit for couples and families
T. S.
Many happy memories : my first steps and my sisters first steps. The cafe serves tasty food with a choice of sitting inside or out on the grass enjoying the sun. I recommend planning a whole morning or afternoon to visit, it’s not something you can complete in less than an hour truthfully.
If you have kids, they are sure to enjoy the choice of playgrounds and their apparatus.
If you’re in the area, I definitely recommend taking a visit, however parking is sometimes an issue so bear that in mind.
G. R.
Great day out. Beautiful gardens and informative displays.
A. K.
We had afternoon tea here, really enjoyed the experience
R. S.
Amazing place to relax with the family!
r. g.
Ice age experience - good but could have been more interactive!!
A. A.
Nice family day out, if you are into your exotic plants then you are in the right place and there are birds there
D. B.
A real discovery when visiting family. Even though it was busy there are lots of spaces to get away from the other visitors and enjoy the amazing planting.
A shame that the cafe was only serving drinks.
R. S.
Went with the family during Jurassic Encounter event, very busy but everyone enjoyed themselves, always good to go the gardens any time of year.
N. G.
Beautiful Christmas display. Perfect for an evening walk with the family.
J. P.
Great place allow lots of time to look around
C. R.
had a great day here on Sunday
