Placed an order for a basket of flowers for Mother's Day which arrived very speedily. Mum was really pleased to receive such lovely flowers and praising how fresh they were with their lovely flowery fragrance. Mum received an exquisitely beautiful bouquet today, sent by her friend who ordered them via “Flowers by McDowell”. I’ve driven past the little shop 100s of times over the years but never used them in the past as it’s sometimes tricky to park nearby. That said, next time It’s someone’s birthday, I’ll definitely make a special effort to use this florist. The quality of the flowers was second to none. No broken stems or semi-withered buds...they couldn’t have been fresher or more well-selected for colour and style. Top marks!

Ordered flowers for my Daughter, to be delivered the following day. I was able to ask if they could be delivered in the morni g as she doesn't work in the afternoon. They were able to assure me they would be delivered before 12noon. My daughter received the most beautiful bouquet with an array of colourful flowers. Second review - Outstanding service and flowers by McDowell. Just had a call from my mum, and she received such a lovely display of flowers for her birthday, she called as soon as they were delivered. Thank you, once again, for bringing joy to her special day! Outstanding! I have used Flowers by McDowell several times, ordering both by phone and by web site, and every time the flowers have been beautiful and delivered on time. So much so, that my mum had to call me to describe their beauty last week. I too, order from overseas, and it is comforting to know that my mum will always receive beautiful flowers when I cannot be there in person. I also want to point out that I have e-mailed with a special request, and the response time was very quick. They were super helpful and are truly a caring community business.

Excellent customer service. I recently gave the wrong address to send sympathy flowers to. I phoned the shop next day, to check if they had been received by the occupant of the address I gave them, or if they had been left with a neighbour. I said I was going to visit the address and explain what had happened. I was told not to, they would sort it out. I received an email later on that day to say they had delivered the flowers to my friend. She was delighted with them. I am so thankful. I have always had good service for deliveries. I certainly would not consider going anywhere else. They went beyond their duty when it was my fault not theirs.

Fabulous flowers for 90th birthday. Excellent service and prices. I sent flowers to Edinburgh a few times a year but didn’t know any local florists as don’t live in Scotland so usually send from Marks and Spencer’s but now I can use this fantastic florist with confidence and will do. After all when you sent flowers to someone they are not going to say they weren’t very good are they. So you never know if they were worth what you spent. Sending flowers from a distance is always risky: will they be the same as ordered? will they get to the person on time? will they follow requests? I ordered graduation flowers for my daughter in Edinburgh from NYC. When she told me they came (on time) with the extra gift (chocolate) and told me how beautiful they were, I was happy. When I looked at the photo she sent I was thrilled. Her flowers looked JUST LIKE THE ONES on the website...except! the little request/addition/alteration (purple ribbon) was honored, too!. So happy! After viewing the wedding bouquets on the website, I took a bit of a risk and ordered my bridal bouquet (I was getting married in secret in Edinburgh and I'm not local so couldn't visit the Florist beforehand.) I ordered a bouquet, a corsage and two buttonholes to arrive at my hotel on the morning of the wedding. I often think internet photographs make things look better than they actually do in real life, but I'm delighted to say it was the other way round! The flowers arrived on time and were absolutely beautiful. I chose the Grand Prix roses for my bouquet. I couldn't have been more pleased with them. My guests loved their rose and thistle buttonholes and the Dendrobium corsage was beautiful. I can't recommend them highly enough and must stress that the website pictures don't do them justice. A really first class service! Many thanks. x

Flowers and chocolates sent to a Gorgie City Farm-worker on her reluctant departure, by a bunch of guinea pigs who will miss her. It's amazing what cavies, with the help of McDowell staff can do.
