We cannot recommend Mel highly enough. Mel was an absolute pleasure to work with. She took time to listen to what I liked and she produced the most amazing floral arrangements for our wedding at the beginning of March. The flowers were beautiful and she endeavoured to source as much as possible locally. She designed a beautiful floral arch and made the whole process stress free and a joy. I absolutely loved all the bouquets and button holes she made. She was also flexible to last minute changes. Reasonably priced and transparent quotes throughout. Mel was absolutely brilliant to deal with from start to finish. She knew what we were looking for after the first chat, and then just fine tuned it all to make sure the florals for our wedding were exactly right for us. Communication was brilliant the entire way through (even when it came to changing dates) and she made the morning of the wedding totally stress free for us. She was wonderful throughout the entire process, from our initial chats about what we needed, through to rearranging dates due to COVID, in the runup to the big day and on the day itself. If you are looking for a truly talented, creative florist with customer focus and sustainability at the top of her agenda, Mel is for you. I gaze at the photos of the flowers so lovingly, that I think hubby may be getting jealous!

Mel (Briar Rose) did the flowers for our recent wedding in the Highlands and the service was impeccable from start to finish. Mel made herself available to discuss what we wanted, took on board all my ideas, and then totally delivered on that - with very reasonable prices. She was able to source Scottish grown flowers for my bouquet (including some absolutely gorgeous Dahlias, even at the end of October!) ad she also made us a dried flower wreath using the same colours as my bouquet, for us to hang in our home, to remind us of our wonderful wedding day. I could not recommend her more highly, for any wedding, or indeed any occasion!

Mel was keen to take suggestions from us to make sure we got what we liked but ultimately we asked her to take the creative reins and use lots of colours for our Spring wedding. Communication was excellent and she was professional throughout, flexible and excellent value. Mel was the florist for our wedding this summer and I can't get over just how amazing everything was! Everything was exactly like my wildflower wishes and making the plans with her was really exciting! You can tell she just absolutely loves what she does. Mel is an actual angel. She was quick to reply and communicate. This was especially important considering that we were planning our elopement from the US. Mel easily translated my vision into lush, gorgeous designs. Everything was so beautiful and she seemed to have a great intuition for understanding exactly what we were looking for. She was so sweet delivering the flowers personally on the wedding day, and driving with us to the location to transport a table setting, even staying for our elopement ceremony which was so special. I also appreciate that her designs don't use floral foam. She sources most of her things locally and seasonally, which makes for a beautiful, personal touch, and is also more sustainable and eco-friendly, which I really appreciate. Mel even gave us a little booklet with all the meanings of the different flowers used in our arrangements, which was such a special and meaningful touch. You can tell how passionate she is for what she does, and she knows so many cool facts about the plants she uses. Price was reasonable considering then distance of delivery and the quality of the designs and components used. 100% recommend Mel for your wedding or any special occasion 💕

Working with Mel was fantastic, she was able to take our vague descriptions and make them so much better than we had imagined! Mel was super professional and I knew from our initial meeting that I could trust her to get it perfect and relax knowing that the flowers were taken care of. The flowers were the items that really brought all of the other elements of the day together to look just right. It was a very grey morning when they arrived and they just brought so much colour, fun and joy to the photographs. Mel made us two dog harnesses - very well designed as they looked amazing and the dogs were happy wearing them. If you are leaving to go on honeymoon the day after, as we were, make sure to get someone to dry the flowers for you, I still have my bouquet and it brings me a lot of happiness to see them everyday. Can't recommend working with Mel enough.

I don’t know where to start to be honest!! We cannot thank Mel enough for making our wedding at The Rhynd look utterly stunning last week! We obviously knew she was going to be fantastic having read nothing but good reviews and word of mouth, but the way her flowers completely changed the look (& atmosphere!) of The Rhynd is so far beyond what we could have imagined. I couldn’t have loved my bouquet anymore if I tried and we’ve lost count of how many compliments we’ve had for the flower arch that Mel created. Even just comments in general about the flowers in the venue - our guests couldn’t get over them. And the smell!! It was divine, it also added to the atmosphere. There’s no other word than perfect. While of course we’re so grateful for Mel’s insane talent, we also really appreciated her professionalism. Her quick responses during planning was hugely appreciated (particularly when rearranging the date) as welli as turning up on time on the day and working tirelessly to ensure the venue was ready in time. It’s things like that that take the stress out of the day. Please do not hesitate in booking Mel! She is lovely and professional to deal with and clearly loves what she does - it shows in the final result. We couldn’t be happier and are delighted we made that first enquiry!

When we originally booked our wedding it was for a 140 person wedding with a marquee, however, with the pandemic in 2020 we had to markedly reduce our numbers to 14 people. Mel was so kind throughout, even though it must have been a disappointment she never let us feel that way. We had a bouquet, button holes and table décor and they were beautiful - we liked the dried mens button holes so much we even ordered another one which is framed on the wall! She is so versatile and managed to make me the most perfect wedding flowers I could ever have imagined even with the freak weather we have been having in Scotland this year. She wasn't able to get the exact thistles that I wanted but went out of her way to ensure that she made them perfect in every other way (even including a different variety of thistles that she could get a hold of!). Her attention to detail is fantastic and not only do I have my wedding photos to remember my gorgeous flowers but she also made me a keepsake booklet with details of all the flowers she used and what their significance is. Mel is a true superstar. I know very little about flowers and beyond knowing that we didn't want anything very traditional, I wasn't quite sure what sorts of things might work. Mel patiently chatted with me about blooms that would be in season that time of year (our wedding was in September), and the sort of wedding we were having (informal!), and then produced a mood board that managed to distil my random jumble of ideas into a beautiful and coherent design! The flowers she created felt exactly right for us, and she even managed to incorporate some random things into the buttonholes that related to my partner's upbringing. On top of her creative talents, Mel was also simply lovely to work with - she was very patient, responsive to communication, and even took the time to visit our venue beforehand so she could get a feel for it. If you are looking for a florist and want something a little bit different, then I can't recommend Mel highly enough!

Mel very recently was florist-extraordinaire for our wee wedding. I asked for autumnal wonderland and wow did she deliver! The marquee was transformed with a wonderful arch, table decor, foliage and floral hoops - it was more amazing than I had imagined and everyone commented on how amazing it looked. The bouquets and buttonholes were exactly what I wanted. She also did some wrist corsages for the flower girls which they loved. It was a pleasure working with Mel to plan the day, even when that plan changed multiple times due to covid, including a complete venue change. She was flexible and had to change plans a little again when the marquee wasn't what we were expecting. And she did a last minute floral crown for me! We are so pleased we chose her to be our florist and would not hesitate to recommend her.
