What an amazing place , Cass was so very friendly and helpful , even when I was interrupting teabreak . I found some old dado rail , length of thin oak and half sheet of ply , the only thing I couldn’t get that was on my lift was a length of live edge , not because they didn’t have extensive stock but because it would have meant leaving my friend behind . I would be here weekly for all my timber needs if it were closer to home . I love the fact that all the timber is being recycled. Fantastic place , well worth a visit .

Had a desktop made out of scaffolding boards by the workshop team, was made exactly to my drawing/measurements so fits perfectly in the space it was designed for. Really easy to get a quote via email and it was ready weeks before i expected! End result looks great and feels really well put together.

I could spend hours in this place coming up with ideas to use the variety of great wood they have available. Bought a fair amount from them for various garden projects. I've not quite graduated to internal furniture yet but when I do I'm sure they'll have the wood I need!

I designed a sword mount last year and visited the wood recycling project in December to see if it would be possible to make something similar to what I had in mind. I met Kaleb who was very helpful and showed me the selection of appropriate woods available and got back to me with various quotes for the discussed design variations. Eventually I decided to get the sword mount made from scaffolding board with routed profile dges and a dark beeswax finish, and went back in to trace the design out. In early January I picked the completed sword mount but only got around to putting it up last week - hence the very delayed review! A couple of additional layers of the darkest beeswax I could find were applied after pick-up but the main body of the work was done solely by the wood recycling project and they did a really great job at making my paper design into an actual object. I felt very included in the design process so I would highly reccomend them if you're looking to get something custom made -Thanks a lot guys! =)

They go above and beyond, their selection of wood is amazing and their cutting work is brilliantly priced - professional and affordable. I can't thank you enough for sorting my order out quickly

Very friendly staff - great selection of wood. This obviously varies from time to time but even the scruffier looking stuff sands and waxes up well! Made several items with wood from here!

Brilliant place. Really good selection of wood for your own projects and also have a workshop that will make your designs for you. Friendly knowledgeable staff and very skilled workshop staff.

A fantastic resource for the community - we should have more of this! Staff are very kind, helpful and knowledgeable. Big range of stock from scrap to beautiful planks of planed hardwood.

Very helpful with great advice, cut it to the size I needed and very very good prices - cost under half B&Q's price for my needs

Great experience all-round. Helpful, knowledgeable, reasonably priced and I will definitely be returning.

Great place for both buying wood, and getting custom word done in the workshop. They have a lot of high quality and characterful wood.
Their scaffolding shelves are inexpensive but fantastic; we've done multiple repeat orders. They also work great as wooden windowsills, recently making a multi-part windowsill for our bay window accurately.
They stock and are capable of a broad range. They make cost-effective recycling bin storage, but also ultra high-end work like tables with complex joinery.

What a wonderful place! Really helpful staff and a complete treasure trove of recycled wood

We had already discovered the Wood Recycling Project for a previous upcycle (scaffold boards into book shelves) and had returned in search of something interesting to turn into a table top. We were so impressed at the selection available and ultimately chose some fab solid oak flooring. The team were so helpful & friendly, and went above and beyond to make sure we had just what we needed. Thank you!

BWRP built us some beautiful long benches out of scaffold boards for our dining room. One of them developed a slight wobble after a few months (change of temperature etc) and when I enquired they fixed it free of charge the same day and did a great job. Highly recommended for bespoke furniture

Overall a very good experience. Next time I need some wood for a project this will be my first port of call. Parking is a bit of a pain but don't let that put you off.

I have used BWRP many times over the years and overall have quite mixed feelings about the place.
The positives:
The staff are friendly and often helpful. I really like the idea of reusing anything and this place is great for that. It’s always fun to browse around and it feels a bit like a treasure hunt as you never know what you’ll find.
The negatives:
The pricing can be a bit exploitative in my opinion. If you’re new to DIY it may seem great but a trip to B&Q and you’ll find that a lot of wood is only 20-30% less than brand new wood. Not to mention the fact that the second-hand wood may contain staples, questionable treatment (from it’s previous life) and / or be warped. It’s also not priced consistently. I once saw an ad on FB for Pallet Tops at £3 each, I arrived and they said it was now £5 each. Kindly, he offered to split the difference at £4.
In summary, it’s a great place with friendly staff and I really value what they do. However, just be wary that some wood is overpriced for what it is.

Such a great resource. Whether you need raw materials or something fabricated, this is definitely the place. I’ve used it for both and am very happy with the results.
Friendly and helpful staff. More timber than you can shake a stick at.

Wonder selection of every type of wood, ideal place to walk around deciding on your next project.
Great knowledgeable and helpful staff - thank you

Fantastic new site for BWRP. With the developments currently underway, it will only make it an even greater customer experience. Which is a challenge, as it is already a friendly, ethically sound place to buy wood. I look forward to seeing the improvements soon, as it is a regular place for me to visit, and see what is available.

I would just like to say how friendly, knowledgeable and helpful the staff are here. I reckon they would know the answer to any woody queries. I just popped in to have a look at a table, and they offered me lots of options. If you've got a wood project go and see these guys. 👍👍

Excellent idea for recycling wood, varied stock which is constantly being replenished so always good to see what's in. Orders can be taken on in-house built products. No delivery but they put you in touch with someone who is very reasonable.
