Kate’s work is amazing and so is she! She transformed a very dark bookcase for us into one much more in keeping with our home, together with a lamp table/magazine rack. Her work is of a very high standard and she cares about what she does. Kate is so very friendly and a pleasure to be with. I can highly recommend her. Kate did a wonderful job on an antique piano stool that was destined for the tip - I couldn’t bring myself to ditch it so decided to invest in Kate’s services, and a 140 year old piano stool can now sit with the matching 140 year old piano! Edit: I completely forgot about the height adjustment! Once upon a time this stool had a height adjustment but it got jammed in a house move and hadn’t worked for years. It now goes up and down smoothly! Awesome job from Kate 😁

I contacted Kate to discuss refinishing my floors. I'd had "a bit of a calamity" when trying to sand them myself. From first contact, a no nonsense, straight talking and honest appraisal was given. Great price agreed upon and the job was done. Katecompleted the job with a splendid result. Other people that have seen the floors have all complimented the finish. I'm not surprised at the glowing reviews Kate has received on this site, having myself formed the same judgement over work she's just done for me in the last two weeks. My gloomy old brown dresser was badly scratched along its counter-top and, over the years, had fallen into a generally tired and sorry state. Kate renewed the main section in apple-green and white and brought the counter-top back to the natural wood, with beautiful results. The dresser now sits in my kitchen, where it has transformed the whole area. It is a very heavy item of furniture and had been on the first floor; but Kate and Dave expertly dismantled and removed it (including managing some narrow bendy stairs) then re-assembled it after treatment in its new ground-floor place. From start to finish I've been most impressed. Kate was sympathetic, friendly and professional throughout. She has produced for me a careful, loving work of restoration with beautiful results. Recommended unhesitatingly and confidently - you will not be disappointed.

In these challenging times, when costs are spiralling, and our incomes are not rising to meet the cost of replacing, renewing our much loved and ageing furniture, there is an answer; and one you can trust. Femme Fatale Finishes is an excellent service, Kate is passionate about her work ensuring that you will receive the best quality service. Kate has transformed my kitchen, a once very tired and dated kitchen now looks like a high end kitchen; just by painting the doors and my free standing units, changing the knobs and using a paint choice that adds light and looks fresh and new I have a kitchen that I could be proud of for considerably less than what a newly fitted kitchen would have cost. The care and consideration Kate takes ensures that my ageing units were not damaged as I very much feared was a possibility. Kate has gone beyond meeting my expectations, and I am extremely happy with the results. Kate will assist and support you through the process , make welcoming suggestions; and is extremely knowledgeable and skilled in her craft. You put a lot of faith and trust when you engage the services off any expert in their field , nothing is beyond her ability or too small, and she is honest in her undertakings. I highly recommend Femme Fatale Finishes and I am already planning an upgrade and refurbishment of other pieces of furniture. Thank you Kate if I could give you more than 5 stars I would.

Kate did a brilliant job of removing a deep water stain in my oak table. She is very friendly, professional and gets the job done quickly & efficiently. Highly recommend for those awkward stains you’re unable to get out yourself!

Kate picked up a very old and stained singer sewing machine which had huge sentemintal value. Within a couple of days it was returned looking fresh and clean but without loosing any of its charm or character. It looks beautiful and I am so grateful for the care that was taken to restore it. As Mum said" Granny would have been really pleased with that" 😂
