This place is awesome! Had several doors dipped and stripped and they look beautiful. A couple of doors also needed to be repaired when stripping revealed that they had been poorly treated in a previous life (before painting/covered) and the team added beading to the panels to bring them back into full life. Can absolutely recommend the caring, skilful and thorough work by the team at Carmichael's.

Outstanding service at a excellent price. Paul kindly gave us excellent advice with regards to finishing our doors. Such a pleasant man. He was prompt and we were kept up to date throughout, even sending us before and after pictures. Finally, the doors look amazing and we couldn't be happier.

Had 9 doors dipped and stripped here earlier this year. The doors were from a 1930s house and were in fairly good physical condition, but were covered in numerous coatings of paint. I dropped the doors off and Paul the owner took photos of 'before' so that he could send me photos of the 'after'. They had the doors for 7 to 10 days as they need time to dry out after the dip. When I got them back they were amazing. They had been totally stripped back to bare wood with not a scrap of paint left, and they had been sanded ready for varnishing (or whatever it is you want to coat them with). All that was left to do was rub them over with white spirit to get any dust off. Great friendly service and in my opinion far more cost effective than trying to strip them yourself. I understand they can also arrange to collect/deliver for a reasonable fee. I plan to take more doors there later this year. Can't fault this place.

Took an old mother's nursing chair for stripping back to bare wood. Paul could not have been more helpful. He sent me photos before and after treatment. Absolutely delighted with the finished product. And the cost was very reasonable. I recommend this company without hesitation.

Paul dipped, stripped, restored and stained our old, badly damaged internal doors. They now look absolutely perfect and I couldn't be happier with the outcome. If I ever move house, the doors are coming with me! Paul was so helpful and friendly throughout the whole process and answered all my questions quickly and patiently. He kept us informed throughout the whole process with pictures of the work he had done. You can tell that he is really passionate about his craft and goes out of his way to deliver the best results possible.
