What a team! Julie is amazing, resourcing and delivering exactly what fabric and accessories you need to complete your perfect project, when you need it. Nigel seems to have several magic elves working at night to restore and create a special and unique piece of furniture. We have tried to keep Vale a secret for several years and have had many projects from beds, dining chairs, a Victorian chaise and a special bar bench to name a few. Our large tired sofa has been given a new lease of life by Nigel at Vale Upholstery! It has been stripped down and beautifully re-covered. The seat cushions are plump and comfortable again. Theres a great choice of fabrics and Julie was very helpful with suggestions as we chose, but not at all pushy. As a previous reviewer said there is no hard sell. Vale arrived to collect the sofa as promised and delivered it back to us. We are absolutely delighted with the result. Nigel is a true craftsman. Thank you.

I wanted seat pads for six dining chairs..searched everywhere and then found this small company. The choice of material was outstanding, the advice I was given was professional, apt and there was NO big sell which I really appreciated. Julie knew her products and Nigel's upholstery skills were brilliant. The pads were made in the time frame they had promised and delivered to my door. The price was very reasonable indeed ...especially for a bespoke service. Excellent, professionalism, customer service, and products. Brilliant.I have had two other jobs done since. A bed settee from John Lewis reupholstered and its like a brand new item...even better than the original. Also I have had conservatory chairs reupholstered. Everything that Nigel does is first class workmanship...I cannot fault anything. Julie always has a lot of fabric to choose from and her advice is professional and supportive and not at all pushy. The turn around is very speedy and I am always delighted. This is a small family run business par excellence.

we can not speak highly enough of Nigel & Julie's truly beautiful craftmanship at Vale upholstery. Over many years now, we've had a sofa made, unbelievable quality, (especially compared to high street brands!) then recovered again years later in a beautiful glossy grey, washable crushed velvet, please see photo's. Most recently an old club chair and a huge stool in exquisite, jewel coloured matt velvet, that's also hard wearing. Photo's don't really do these beautiful pieces any justice. They are a delightful, super talented, honest, reliable and totally professional family firm. Hand on heart, if your looking for bespoke or a designer look, I seriously wouldn't consider or even bother going anywhere else.... Fabulous, many many thanks to Vale upholstery, Julie & Jason
