Reviews of Emmaus Oxford Store
N. G.
excellent staff and drivers! everything runs nicely and good stuff available at good prices...more people should donate and buy here...it is a win-win situation for everyone, sustainable for the environment and the money is for a good cause...

I live in Oxford nearly 20-years.
I'll continue to support this Charity whatever I could.
I visited Emmaus every now & then. I bought things & I donated things to Emmaus as well.
Because, their purpose is to end the Homelessness which is very good!
All staffs, Bryan, Jason, Miles, Jamie, Phil, Gavin, Ebonie, Lilith & all drivers are very kind, professional & efficient especially Mr. Bryan, Mr.Gavin & Ms. Lilith have been working so many years in that Emmaus Oxford Charity and very hard working too. Many thanks for changing all Homeless people's lives into job & stability and roof over their heads! Soooo Wonderful & appreciated on behalf of homeless people.
Sandy Mar Family from Oxford!

Very very friendly place, but sometimes the furniture's prices a bit much for charity shop.

Got my self an excellent bargain and help with taking it to my car.
It was good to see familiar faces still working there and delivering great service and continued dedication to the cause.
The layout and display of goods is organised, easy to navigate and overall reasonably priced.
However, although it's a Charity I still feel that most of the furniture is pitched at a Private Landlords budget and not for those struggling to start up from scratch with limited government assistance.
People on benefits can do without the competition.

A great place to go if setting up a home on a budget

In addition to the beautiful and good quality furniture, they've also got a variety of books, dvds, kitchen stuff, clothes and accessories at a really affordable price. Plus the staff are always very friendly and helpful. My favourite charity shop in Oxford.

Best place to go to get lovely furniture

Lovely charity shop and a bought a DVD for £5 😂

I asked Emmaus to clear my late mother's house. They were easy to deal with; the team arrived on time and were efficient, polite and friendly. All for a very reasonable price. Highly recommended.

Not nearly as big as I was expecting (it claims to be the largest charity shop in Oxford -- which may be true -- so I was expecting something much bigger). They specialise in furniture, but they only had a single standard office-style chair. The selection of books was poor. It seems to be the sort of place that would be good for skint students to outfit their unfurnished flat.

I went there out of curiosity after having seen their advert regularly in our local magazine. It looks very big from outside but that's deceptive. It stocks mostly furniture which is great if that's what you are looking for but not so much of other items, say, kitchenware or clothes. There was a small selection of books music tapes, CDs etc..I'm not sure if I saw any clothes but I didn't buy anything. I may return there sometime in future, as you never know what's on offer and I might just find something which I've been looking for, for ages.

Two guys came and did a great job clearing my mother in law's flat. They went to great lengths to make it possible including carrying heavy furniture down the stairs. Thank you Emmaus!

Very good second hand store with constantly updated stock of furniture, including large items like sofas. As it's also a charity, I do recommend donating any furniture you're considering getting rid of to them.

Full of great furniture and household items for those on a budget. Run by awesome staff and homeless young people being helped by Emmaus who are all friendly and helpful. PLEASE DONATE YOUR GOOD CONDITION ITEMS HERE -- they will pick up bigger items

They have a great range of second-hand furniture at excellent prices. The delivery service was cheap and well-organised, and all the staff we came into contact with were extremely friendly, efficient and helpful. So much better than buying new!!!
S. G.

Needing to clear out a house following a family bereavement I contacted Emmaus, who sent a team of 3 men to remove furniture and other items.
They were polite, professional and extremely efficient. I hope that the charity makes a lot of money from this, and congratulate them on their efforts.

I use to live in there Oxford branch and they do a good job but I was diserpointed to day as I paid £5 for a £2 jacket as it was a trespass. The conpanian serving me didn't say thank you for giving extra and to be honest he didn't seem like he wanted to be there at all.sorry but he represents Emmaus wich would make someone els not want to go back but I will.for staff... ..he had glasses and dark hair about 50.

Nice people are working there , good atmosphere and nice and tidy place but unfortunately their prices are going higher and higher and sometimes too expensive and when I asked why? Answer was : cos on ebay is selling for this much.....so they match their prices with ebay...sometimes even more expensive than ebay and I even can buy cheaper on Ebay.....so happy with staff and place and atmosphere but disappointed with rising prices
