Although one may not be a golfer, this is still a good venue for those wishing a good inexpensive lunch with a decently kept ale, with some fine views whilst enjoying them (there is a midling good wine list also) This reviewer was there to join a small group of like minded souls to have lunch (the 'Surprise Pie' was excellent and lived up to the name) and to watch the Lions go one up in the first of three Test matches against the South African Springboks. A good above average lunch, washed down with an excellent beer (St Austell's Tribute 4.2%abv in superb condition) and watched a game that had a scary first half, but resolved itself in the second with a satisfactory result. The staff were amiable, clearly customer focused, the service was prompt and the whole ambiance very congenial. The men's loo though - it can get a little 'cosy' Pick your moment.

I don't play golf but I joined the fitness centre at Farrington a few months ago, and it is already making a difference in my life. I have serious problems with my shoulders and arms and my personal trainer has been so encouraging. My fitness level was very low and I've always felt embarrassed going somewhere where people always look fit, but this is such a welcoming place that I don't feel out of place at all and everyone is so helpful and friendly. Also there's a restaurant and bar for great coffee afterwards.... with delicious homemade cakes always on offer which I carefully avoid (well, most of the time!)

First time visitor. Course in good condition considering the recent dry weather. A real challenge whatever the handicap. Good food and drink served by considerate and helpful staff. Will return.

Myself and my husband were both really impressed with our lunch here today. The restaurant is clean and relaxing, the service was great and the food was delicious. We shared squid in panko for starters, then had a burger and jacket potato for mains. The portions were generous, it was presented beautifully and it all tasted amazing. My husband said the burger patty was one of the best he’s had- no onion powder, just lovely, well seasoned mince. My jacket potato was cooked perfectly. The squid was also cooked to perfection and came with coriander, chilli’s and sauce. A chef that knows how to send food out the kitchen for sure! We will be back soon as we are both keen to try their breakfasts and roast dinners now we know how good the food is! The setting is also beautiful, even in the rain like today!

The challenging 18 hole Duchy course was in great condition, greens were excellent. Pace of play was reasonable despite a full tee sheet. Good value for money and the food and drink available after is worth stopping for. Good value for money as a visitor and a good range of facilities.

Played both the 9 hole and the 18 hole course as part of a society day. On arrival purchased a coffee and bacon bap, usual golf club prices £14 for 2 coffees and 2 bacon baps. We then played 9 holes of the manor par 3 course, good little warm up before we played the Manor course full 18. Course was in good condition, greens very good. Tee boxs showing a bit of wear but generally all good. We had a sit down meal after which was excellent. Recommend a visit, can be a bit of a pain to get to but worth the effort.

1st of all let me say that this is a fantastic golf course , greens are challenging and are.kept in good order. Now for my moan ..... Nothing at all ,friendly and welcoming, food was excellent . Used 2 fore 1 voucher no problems . A++ Will possibly join this club in the future.

Friendly and welcoming place. The 9 hole is an enjoyable course with plenty of challenges for aspiring pro. I've taken my 8 year old on numerous occasions and he's had a great time. Be warned, being outplayed by an 8 year old can get you down.

Had our Christmas party here and had a great night. The food was lovely, all served hot and everyone had their food served at the same time. The staff were polite and helpful, It was good value and the night was enjoyed by all. The only improvements could have been maybe 2 dishes of veg per table rather than one which would make it easier to serve and the option to have coffee after the meal. Would definitely recommend!

I recently had my wedding here and I can onestly say that it was the best value for money around. The package we were offered was fantastic and the manager (Faye) went to great lengths to help me and my wife and to make us both feel at ease with everything going on. Our day here was lovely and the team there made sure there were no issues or upsets. I would reccomend this venue to anyone who is looking to get married. Great price, great staff and great facilities!

Went on a day when you got double the balls for the money so it was great value, only £3.50 for 100 balls instead of £7. The staff were nice, giving advice on where to put bikes and what golf clubs to try first for a beginner.

Farrington GC has a fantastic variation of holes that will challenge golfers of all abilities. From short par 3s to tempting par 5s across stretches of water! This course has a bit of everything meaning each hole offers a form of uniqueness! From narrow tree lined fairways, to wide open fairways, from tempting short cuts across water or over trees, to playing the hole as you should. There’s something to think about on every hole, Farrington is definitely a thinking golfer’s golf course! There is also a great little short game area to practice your chipping, as well as a floodlit covered driving range and a putting green. Worth the money even just for the views across the Mendips!
