M. D.Beautiful views, great course, needs ball washers
S. G.What an amazing experience.... Played yesterday 7th January 2022 and loved every minute. I need to personally thank Magny for his warm welcome and his time. He did advise me the course would be wet and the weather was to be not the best but neither detracted from the experience of Whalsay. Some straight forward holes and some mazing and tricky ones. Best hole for me was the par 3 second, into the wind I used a 7 wood and put it about 3 feet from the hole for a breat birdie, shot of the day for me and the 16th down the hill was another good one. Second onto the green with a 3 wood and another birdie. Only 2 birdies if the day and it was more luck than skill and the winds where coming in all directions as was the rain.
If you get the chance to play it's a rewarding experience and luckily work took me to the island or i simply would never have had this amazing experience. Shetland ( Dale ) and Asta too play before I return to the mainland. I'd happily move to Shetland or Whalsay in a heartbeat....

It’s a long journey to get to but well worth it
M. W.Made the journey from Glossop in Derbyshire to play this awesome golf course, and I am so glad I did.
As you arrive you know that you are going to play something very special, its a links but you dont get any run on the ball, so it plays every bit of its yardage. Words are inadequate to describe the stunning views all around you, and there are some great holes. The 16th will always be memorable, I loved the look of the 17th as it flows down and the climbs magnificently up to higher ground, straight hole just requiring two good hits, fantastic!
If this golf course was on the main land it would be better known and receive greater recognition which it so rightly deserves so please make the effort to visit, and like me you will come home with memories of 18 quality holes, friendly's people and a hope you will return one day.
Congratulations to all at Whalsay Golf Club for your determination to maintain the course and extend such a warm welcome to visiting golfers.
