Reviews of Dougalston Golf Club
J. D.
Nicely designed course, some really memorable holes.
Spoiled in two areas:
Members don't seem to get the point of repairing pitch marks. I averaged 6 per hole.
Secondly the golfers lounge was filthy. Every table needed a good clean and a hoover.
Shame - course let down by it's people.
M.
Great course with only one real hilly hole the rest were all easy for walking greens and fairways all well kept will be back for sure.

Booked through bunkered voucher disappointing to say the least
Arrived prior to our booking nobody seemed to know what was happening the pro shop was shut went to main reception to pay only to be informed they do not accept cash luckily one of our party had his card. Had booked two buggies only one available had to wait while they located another one.On the back of the voucher they are advertising a meal deal tried to book it but again nobody knew anything about it and then when we returned after our round tried to buy food only to be told the kitchen was shut as the dishwasher wasnt working. A pity a tight course could be better signposted between holes couldn't fault the condition of the course. Dont think we would return unless changes are made

Recently joined and it's a very tough test of golf with very challenging and varied holes. The condition of the course is improving week on week with the better weather and it will be at its peak in a few weeks which will be a joy to play.

Played Easter Monday 2022. - a cracking looking course with lots off water, trees and elevation. Many holes have a fair walk between green to tee.
The courses is tight so if you struggle to hit a straight ball take lots of balls.
It would have been 4 stars but the conditions were lacking. The greens were extremely hairy, you could see they had been cored a few weeks ago but now overdue there first cut. The fairways badly needed cut also.
All in all a very enjoyable round though.

Terrific condition. Beautiful setting,18 holes set within mature woodland with almost every hole picture postcard. Will def be back.

Nice enough course. Not as challenging as some others would make out. I'm not a great golfer and found it fine. Not a 5 star course ready to host a major, but a nice course to play.

This is a challenging and varied course and good value for money. But if you're a Hooray Henry who on other courses thrashes about via adjacent fairways, you would need to learn to play properly before playing here

Great course in fantastic condition. First round after lockdown, managed to get a tee off time on Golf Now app. Instructions were sent when booking was made and there was somebody waiting at first tee to explain everything. Will definitely be back.

Great course, really good tough layout with some real fabulous golf holes. Condition could be better but still early in the season...

Really nice course...... a real test of golf with some really tight fairways.... a little bit heavy but we have had a lot of rain recently. A very enjoyable round.
S. M.
Great course however greens had been cored and sanded so were pretty poor.
L. M.
Ok as a golf course though very heavy on the legs with loads of walking between holes. Slow greens. Bit of a soulless place inside with no atmosphere at all...and currently appear to be only serving coffee...but nothing after 1pm...seems a bit odd.
J.
Course in fair condition when played greens still a bit rough but should improve so many blind shots so check out layout first
Overall good value at £20 for weekend round
j.
great layout and some lovey picturesques holes it a good work out when you start playing up the hill it very peacefull the front 9 was the best for me with nice par 3 and long par 4 greens were great fairways were a bit let down
J. F.
Superb course, very well maintained. Golf shop and bar/food facilities first class. Alan the golf professional is always friendly and accommodating. Dougalston is now a golf course and club in the truest sense.

Decent wee course, very unforgiving but it's very satisfying when you get it right. Layout is a wee bit confusing from the 1st to the 4th but it gets more natural after that, signage could be better. Bring plenty of balls.
E. S.
Really great service. Resteraunt health and beauty services are impeccable. Very well maintained gym with variety of equipment including pool. First class organised competitions for variety of interests.

A decent course but spoiled by poor winter greens. God friendly welcome in restaurant. Will go back to enjoy the full course sometime soon

Really nice course, bit of a walk between some holes not difficult to get a tee time at a good price.

Fantastic place with amazing scenery and nature. Great for golf too!
A. S.
Greens sanded and spiked so not ideal however course looks a bit tired in places. Challenging course- particularly driving.
