Reviews of Grantown-on-Spey Golf Club

Enjoyed playing this course. Nice variety of open fairways and between the trees. More than enough challenge for golfers of all levels.
I can wholeheartedly recommend a round on this course to anyone.

This is a very nice course, set on the edge of Grantown with a few residential and industrial premises on the town side then nothing but trees on the other 3 sides. It's a hilly course and some of the holes do involve walking up and down however they are not Everest steep. A minor road also cuts through the course but to be fair the only time you are aware of it is when you cross over it for a couple of the holes. We played there recently on a rather windy day, with bright blue sky and initially thought it would be a tad chilly however as soon as we set off and got into the tree lines, the wind was forgotten about and it seemed to get hotter and hotter, so the flora and fauna must provide a fair bit of protection. The tees were in excellent condition as were the fairways and greens however don't go wide as the rough was unforgiving. We managed to find wayward shots now and again but lost quite a few....finding replacements along the way. The greens looked very fast but we found they played slower than they looked and that was on a windy, sunny day so goodness knows what they will be like on a still damp day. Because the course fits into a hilly wooded area there are very few plain flat holes which makes it fun and each had character which adds to the challenge. My brother is a very good, committed (obsessive) golfer, I play possibly twice a year ( when my bro visits) and our 3rd player had never hit a ball in his life, yet between us we managed the course not too badly, didn't fall out and other than losing a few balls, had a great day. The clubhouse is not the easiest to find because coming along the main street I expected to see a directional sign, but unless I missed one, didn't see it and only got there thanks to sat nav. If there is not a sign I wonder why ?. Back to the clubhouse, it's a normal building, just like them all with nothing detrimental to say about it. The club shop was well stocked, decent prices and the pro could not have been nicer or more accommodating for our visit. I know my brother will be back there next year when his family head north for a holiday so I have 12 months to clean my clubs for round 2. We enjoyed it and I'm sure if you visit, you will too. Hope this helps

Our first time at this course and we were not disappointed. The course was immaculate and the greens superb, fast and fun to read. Although lots of trees it was the positioning of bunkers, ditches and shape of the holes that made it challenging. From the starter, members on the course and clubhouse staff everyone was welcoming. Thoroughly enjoyed our round and would recommend it to anyone visiting this area.

First time on this course and really enjoyed it. Was a bit of a challenge as I am new to the game but enjoyable all the same. Was very busy but it didn't hold us up too much. Can't comment too much on the clubhouse as we only had a coffee and a bag of crisps but it seemed nice enough and the people were very friendly visitors and locals.

Drove up to the area early friday morning from east lothian. Had a nice meal in clubhouse. Fish and chips. Staff nice and friendly, meal was first class. The wind was blowing a hand rail when we teed off. Some really lovely holes and the course was tip-top condition. Thanks for a very enjoyable experience. Will be back again.

Words fail me, what a course in an amazing highland setting. Spent from Saturday the 28th through to today 3rd September golfing and I was treated to a fantastic woodland course. Could not fault the course and I was stunned to find out there are only 2 full time greenkeepers, however there is an army of volunteers that help keep the hidden gem in tip top condition. Huge thanks to Lewis, Helen, Alana and Emily... Thank you to the greenkeeping staff who I feel always go unoticed at lots of clubs.
Don't miss this amazing course and hopefully I shall be back next year, to find my lost balls....

One of the best golf clubs in North of Scotland.
Excellent quality service all the way from reservation, arrival, to the course. Greens look fairly easy but be careful of undulation..... The front nine is particularly challenging.... Great fnb options but close early .......car parking and access is adequate.....

Great course and Clubhouse and services all round.

Great track, some very nice holes.
Not to long but just long enough, can easily lose ball if not straight of the tee. all in all a good day out.

Old course without Par 5 holes. No driving range. Easy to play. Some great views. Met some very nice people who invited me at once to play with them. Nice clubhouse, friendly management. All in all a great experience and I'll be back here sometime!

Great set up of 3 x 6 holes each set different with challenges to suit all golfers. Greens, fairways and tees were in excellent condition.

Excellent course, great scenery. Three or four unsighted holes increase the challenge first time round. This is a fun course to play for mixed handicap groups.

Golf at Grantown dates back to 1890. The first 6 holes allows time to practice your swing for me its the eye on ball then on the 7th all changes. Love the 8th and 9th holes so unusual, unique even. Well you need to book around and stay over too in Grantown on Spey.
The Golf Course Club house is extremely well appointed with scenic views to the Cromdale Hills. Great for chilling out with a pint and plate of sandwiches.
Book a Round and see you soon in Grantown on Spey and Tulach Ard House Bed and Breakfast.
Its a great day.
