Reviews of ArCains

Great place, excellent value for money!
3 floors of arcade machines from Frogger, Mario Cart, guitar hero! All for one price!
We spent a good 3 hours in and we didn't manage to go on every game.
We didn't have any snacks or drinks so I'm not sure on the choice or prices.
Lots of parking close by and free on the street outside!
Will definitely be returning in the future!
Z.
We came at half term. So busy! Alot of machines were broken.
The price well £16 per child is a yes but,£18 for an adult who is there to supervise their children is shocking!
Yes if you're adults out with adult friends drinking an having fun of an evening then the price is fair.
Staff and food was great.
Won't be back unless they knock adult price down while being with their kids.
J. T.
I love this place loads of machines new and old. Entrance fee is great value and food/drink are reasonably priced. I had that much fun I forgot to take more pictures
E. G.
Me and my partner went for her birthday and we really enjoyed it! We paid £18 each for unlimited time/games and spent aprox 3/4hrs there. With it being a monday it wasn't that busy which was a bonus.
So many arcade games to choice from, you are really spoilt for choice. However there are a handful of games you have to pay for like: basket ball hoop, airhocky, punch machine to name a few- £1 per go.
Food/drink stations on each level so you don't need to go far. Great selection of alcohol and soft drinks plus pizza.
B.
Amazing place.
You pay on entry, then it's free roam of three floors of arcade machines, computers, console lounge on the top floor, pool tables and so on.
Honestly if you're in the area then give it a shot, it's best with 2+ people
S. L.
Amazing! So much variety over the three floors and for £12 and unlimited games, it is so worth it. There were a good few people in there but with the amount of games and space you rarely bumped into anyone. Also the staff on the door and at the bars were lovely.
R. H.
Awesome gaming goodness, loads of games to choose from over three floors food available on site and was a good atmosphere like proper arcades from yesteryear well recommended
A. M.
Bit pricey if only going for a couple of hours, @£12 per adult and £10 per child make sure you have plenty of time to enjoy. Great place to go if you fancy playing old arcade classics. There is a PC and Console games on the 3rd floor. Great for family fun or date night. Will be going back👍
B.
Good selection of games (not many from the early 80s but the ones that matter are there). One or two machines need repair but nothing major. Site was clean. Staff were good. Plenty of parking nearby.
I note a few reviews complaining about the price. You can stay in the arcade as long as you want. Nowadays, a game on a coin-op will put you back £1 hence the admission price isn't bad value if you stay for a few hours.
Next time i'll be going back with friends rather than the kids.
K. L.
You pay to get in and then you can go on all the games over 3 floors. Lots of old classic games and newer ones. Adults and children loved it.
J. (.
This place is awesome. Pay to get in and play whatever you want with unlimited lives! There are so many things to choose from so I'd recommend going early because you could easily be there all day. Short walk from Liverpool One so it's easy to find via Google maps. Friendly staff and a great atmosphere.
B. S.
Great fun lots to do could spend all day here. Food is expensive but nice also a bar downstairs.
p. m.
3 floors of arcade machines. Game on.
A word of caution if you plan to park in the brewery car park. If you're even a minute over the purchased time then you will receive a £100 fine from Brewerygate ltd. Not a great customer experience.
N.
Good place for all day gaming but my issue is the jump in price from £12 to £18 for adults and £10 to £16 for children. A £6 increase for Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays!! The only thing that's different on the weekends is the place is more busier with familys and groups of teenagers! Best time to go is during Mondays to Thursdays and when it's not half terms!
S. L.
Awesome blast from the past - loads of retro games included in the entry price, although the price point is a little high! The facilities need more attention - toilets pretty grubby and more choices of food would be great. Also - please serve coffee??
J. J.
Besides the snotty woman at the till when we payed telling me my step daughter looked well over 18 and she was hesitant to charge her full price I'd say once we was in and she was history we had a lovely time in here spent hours in there. Tons of games and loads of fun top floor as your consoles which you pay a deposit of a tenner for pads which is fair enough as you do get some idiots who ruin it for others by breaking them or whatever. Drinks are reasonably cheap, really surprised they didn't do any slush though. Definitely come here though its worth every penny!
C. H.
Seems expensive but is well worth the money. Plenty of arcades with something to fill everyone's taste. Only down side quite dark and not clear when moving from floor to floor. Also toilets could be a lot better sign posted. But overall would highly recommend
S. M.
Enjoyed visiting here, lots of great games. We happily spent several hours on various different games.
Entrance fee was more expensive than advertised on the website though and food/drink prices inside were steep.
d. p.
A bit late... But this review is before covid19 Feb 20,
What a place to have, very jealous 3 floors of great games, plus some surprising Japanese ones too. Retro is king here. Drinks and food is available which Is a bonus. Will come here again 😃
J. L.
Not bad. Not amazing.
Plenty of choice for games, but many machines are broken, turned off or cannot be played for other reasons (guns for shooting games not calibrated correctly).
Also, whilst I know they need to make money on refreshments etc, I feel £2 for a small can of drink is too steep.
S. B.
Great place to go with friends. Huge variety of games, not too crowded so you can get to them all and theres no time limit once youve paid.
Having said that, the drink prices should be lower. They feel almost double the cost of a normal bar, a little increase I wouldn't mind but I actually spent less there than I would purely because it was unnecessary. Theres barely any variety either. I wouldn't mind at all if the entrance fee wasn't high in itself. One or the other should be lower to justify the other being as high.
The music overshadows a lot of conversation and the game audio sadly, took someone on a date and could barely hear anything she said, might as well have been playing the music games on silent too. Should be toned down a little, it's an arcade not a nightclub.
Overall I recommend going, it is a ton of fun, but get ready to shout at each-other to talk, and to pay overkill prices for drink. If they fixed those issues it would likely be a regular visit rather than an occasional one off.
T. L.
Had a great Fathers day out with my 19yr old daughter. Highly recommend it for any gamers out there. Bigger than I expected, we spent over 6hrs in there. Well worth the entry fee, and then virtually all arcades, simulators, consoles, pc's are free to play ! 😁👍
M. S.
Awesome location - pay once to get in, then get free access to the arcade machines all day!
The food there is lovely, too.
A tad on the pricy side - but worth every penny.
A. L.
2nd time here, great place for kids and adults. One price to get in and all the arcade games are free. My boys love it, spent 6 hours in here playing games every boys dream playing games all days. Good place to go when it's raining.
P.
This place is great for somebody who'd want to play some classic arcade games and other more modern games too (1st & 2nd floor)
However the third floor definitely leaves more to be desired, they have gaming PC's setup and consoles too but the internet connection was the worst I've seen. There was a good selection of games, but they needed updating so you couldn't play anything as the updates were just so slow.
The console gaming was ok, but again the internet was so awful it was a bit of a waste of time.
They had racing simulators which were cool and game cube setups!
Overall the experience was ok, they had a bar on the second and third floor which was great. Guitar hero seemed to be very popular and they had only two stations for it so we never got a chance to get on it.
d.
Ace place. 3 floors packed full with a huge range of classic and contemporary games
P. T.
It's a decent sized venue with three floors of arcades. The place has a number of original arcade units, but disappointingly, the majority of the machines there are not authentic; PC MAME cabinet builds, from what I could tell. Flat screens. Widescreen on games that were never widescreen, etc. Probably a bit too pricey for what's on offer. The real highlights are the original machines, but they're often not working and over subscribed.
P. W.
Very good. Great collection of games. Some old, some new, some obscure.
M. H.
Really well set up with old and newer machines. Only problem we found was some of the machines needed maintenance and didn't work properly especially the 2 player racers which was a pity but for gamers old and young it is a great night
J. S.
Was good and real fun place to go and at a decent price, the reason for 3 stars is because if the volume of machines which not in a working condition.
Tomb Raider: Player 3 not working
Rampage: left stick does not go up
Sega WRC: Steering wheel not working
Sega WRC (2nd Machine): Chair broken
Dance Stage Fusion: Both pads unresponsive
Taiko Drum: Right drum has been battered
Dark Escape 4: Left fun sight not working, right gun has features not working
Ghost: Not Working
Time Crisis 3: left screen has so much burn on it
There was more but this is what I can remember, it’s disappointing to go and be able to play properly on some games but other than that, it was such a good time
T. 2.
I love ArCains! Its one of my favourite places to go for a day out with my brother or my partner etc. Theres 3 floors of games! The bottom floor is mostly just pay-to-play machines like a basketball thing, but who cares about them when the second floor has such good games!! The third floor has PC's, Consoles and some arcade machines. I also highly recommend the nachos there, especially with Jalapeños and cheese! :p
j. y.
Honestly amazing.. some of the games are broken but that's okai because there is just so much value in the entry fee. If your not into retro arcade games there is PS4,XBOXS GAMECUBES and also very powerful PCs with 2080ti GPUs in them all and all exceptional value
M.
Huge venue, three floors full of games. The entry is £18 and you should be able to use all games as long as you want however some still require you to pay, which tbh doesn’t make sense. The pinball , the basketball, the ice hokey , the punch machine … these all require extra £1 or £2 per game which is annoying.
The pool table and another game were out of service due to COVID…. Another thing that makes no sense as you literally go around touching games 100 people have touched before you , and you would play pool with your group anyway.
K. W.
3 floors of arcade heaven! They have everything from Street Fighter to Guitar Hero. They even have Taiko no Tatsujin and a Sailor Moon R side-scrolling fighter! There’s limited food options but proximity to the Baltic Market means this isn’t a problem and the price is more than reasonable for a day-long wristband so you can come and go as you please til closing.
A. N.
Great vibes. Good value for money too - pretty much everything was in good working condition and the place was clean. Drinks were a bit expensive but I don’t begrudge them that at all. Will definitely return when I’m in the area again!
L. S.
This is great for kids. Drinks are a bit pricey and some of the machines on ground floor still need paying for but other than that it's great fun
J. M.
Good little place loads to do old school games brings back memory’s 😊🎮
p. l.
Wonderful place to go , three floors with plenty of games on offer to play. perfect place to go with friends or with kids.
L. C.
I've never seen an arcade this rich and dense. The "pay the ticket and then play for free" plan is perfect to really enjoy everything there's to play without bothering about coins.
I didn't even make it in time to check the third level (I thought all night long there were only two!)
H. S.
Brilliant value for money! I’m so jealous I don’t live closer. I would spend every weekend here! Huge selection of games very much enjoy the Guitar hero very nostalgic!
P. L.
A great place Retro games at its finest also new games 3 floors hours of fun. Highly recommend it if you want to treat the kids. Also lovely pub attached for the adults👍
S.
Definitely great value! There's something for everyone, including PC and console gamers (2nd floor). Had a great time with friends and we completely lost track of time. The only problem is it's not very accessible due to turnstiles and stairs only available.
Hand sanitisers were everywhere to use before and after using the machines. Alternatively, you could probably wear gloves.
S.
Fun place to go to spend some time. £18 entry is expensive though plus some games you have to pay more money for such as pool, punch ball and basketball.
Some games are broke. Some have signs up but some are broke which you don't know until you play them e.g. Mario karts gokart has a broken accelerator. Guitar hero green button is broke.
Mens toilets stink! Could smell them as I walked past. Females bathrooms don't seem to be attended too regularly either.
A. c.
Very good 3 floors has ps4s and ps5s on top floor and loads of different arcade games it's very good very nice
H. K.
I enjoyed this place and could have spent all day playing the old games, which is what you need to do to make the most of the entrance fee of £12, which was actually the cheaper weekday rate. I found most of the games worked fine, but there were some games that were constantly occupied, and didn't think it was fair to charge extra for pool and air hockey. I didn't try any of the food and drink and I had seen it was quite expensive and didn't cater for those with dietary requirements. I didn't use the toilets either but I could smell them from outside. I would probably come again for the nostalgic factor as the games are decent, and the wristband at least lets you leave to get food somewhere else and return again later. Despite being in an crowded, indoor space, we were the only ones wearing a mask.
B. J.
I LOVE THIS ARCADE! £12 to get in and play 3 FLOORS of all the classic games for as long as you want.
For years I've been wanting to play on the dance mat, and I did, I danced to 8 songs SWEATING my a** off. Its soo worth it we were there for hours.
80s & 90s babies galore, it's great for the "Gen Z" new generation to see what we use to play with. Get them off their PS5/XBox and bring them down here.
Defo worth a visit when in Liverpool.
I took so many videos I was in my element, and I believe after a certain time no kids allowed.
S. K.
Good range of games, some in need of repair but left open for use which wasn't good at all; very loud and expensive (£18 on the door)
M. R.
Great day out at ArCains. Shame we only had a few hours but still great value for money. Huge selection of arcades, both emulated and original. Will definitely return!
A.
Great value for money, brilliant selection of arcade games and great staff 👍
r. b.
Lots of choice of arcades, some were out of order but definitely good value for money
D. R.
Wide variety of retro games. Great atmosphere from a wide demographic. Lots of game noise too, quite loud, and warm. Mostly free once inside. Only a few issues with units not working properly. Always free cabinets, such a choice. Small queues for the more popular games.
D. C.
I'm really torn with this place. I have gone from rating 2 to 3 to 4 stars in my head
Pros:
A lot of games. A LOT. Real sit down cabinets for some of the greatest games (Sega Rally 2, Daytona USA 2, Mario Kart GP) along with the shooters/gun games. The Tomb Raider and Rambo games have to be played!!
All with the hydraulics and razzmatazz from these show-piece machines really bring back the joys of playing the arcades years ago
Insane choice of machines; not just games, but a great pong machine. I loved the giant pacman machine.
Cons:
Prices for drinks seem a little over steep, especially for the canned drinks (the draft beer was gone when I went)
A lot of the games seem to be emulated. The dead give-away is the screens are LCD panel, presented at the wrong aspect ratio. These older games should be 4:3 and not 16:9. Though this isn't necessary a bad thing, some of the emulation was lacking - with slowdown and screen-tearing (WWF Wrestlefest stood out in this regard). Also as all these machines had standard 6 button layouts, some of the button configs were completely wrong, Mortal Kombat 2 was unplayable. These mixed in with the real cabinets were a bit disappointing
Overall, £18 for entrance is steep. Very steep. However for all the games and activities available, I would let this slide as you could spend hours in there
P. B.
£12 for all day entry and unlimited gaming..... Brilliant. Decent prices for bottled beer also.
Very clean and sanitiser given on entry.
M. T.
This place is really good for people who have nostalgia relating to the games in this place, I really enjoyed pinball myself, but it's not worth going if you don't have the nostalgia factor. 18 quid is quite steep in my opinion, especially cause not everything is free and you don't even get one drink included in your wristband. So I wouldn't recommend this to everyone, but it is a cool place if you're into it. We also found that the same people were hogging the best games for a long time, which was really annoying cause we never got to play them. This place is 50/50 for me.
C.
We came here on a weekday and so it was not too busy at all. £16 entry and all the games you like. Brought back many memories from my youth, my friends even completed Rambo! Not all the machines were working and a few of the driving games had broken steering wheels which put a bit of a damper on the whole experience. Also the one and only food available was a hotdog on a VERY dry bun served by a lady who appeared to be allergic to smiling and seemed to hate every moment of her job, I suggest you eat before attending this establishment. Such a shame - if the food and service was just a touch better, and more of the machines were functional, I’d easily have given 5 stars... that said, I would go back here, just not in the near future.
M. B.
Great place to visit spent a good 4 hours in there could easily spend more if you wanted to complete a few of the games. Nice atmosphere, warm welcome reasonably priced to get in. Drinks are quite expensive once in there but you can use your wrist band to come and go as you please so might be worth popping out for refreshments. A few of the games are either broken or not calibrated which was a bit of a let down but there was enough of others to be getting on with. All round good fun had by all the family.
A. B.
Best Arcade on Merseyside, definately coming here more often! The staff are so friendly here!
You enter through a pub called Punch Tammy's there is a couple of steps down into the pub.
As you go in the had live music on and its a great atmosphere.
Arcanes is on the right as you walk into the bar.
It has 3 floors, pinball machines, basketball machines and more on floor 1.
retro games, shooting games (and more) There I also a bar on floor 2.
Playstations, pool, PC's and retro Arcade games on floor 3.
K. M.
Great time spent with my 17 year old son, wide range of gaming options, and lots of fun to be had, we had a wonderful time.
M. J.
Awesome place 2-3 hours well spent
f. p.
Love it in there good value for money if your staying for hours
P. K.
If you like your gaming this is the place for you !,When we went 2 adults 1 child, you pay your entrance fee and that's basically it,Kids under 18 can stay till 6pm,they had all the retro console classics and a lot of modern stuff too, they serve food and drink,we stayed for a good 5 hours, and my lad can't wait to go back,I would recommend this place very highly
I. H.
The idea of this place is fantastic and the wide range of games is unbelievable. Genuinely you could spend hours here, fantastic place.
L. D.
Fantastic experience!! Paid on the door, got access to loads of machine, new, old, ones I've never seen before. Some machines were broken and you had to pay a deposit on the PC gaming, which wasn't clear when we entered, but not really an issue. Food was decent, more like snack bar stuff but still good. Lovely staff. Sanitiser everywhere, made to feel very welcome.
V. D.
It's a fun time to go, you pay the admission and you can stay until the closing time , big place
J. T.
Now I liked this place, very much so in fact. The biggest problem it faces is the the people who attend. They are tough with the equipment and cause damage, so many cabinets with broken joysticks or buttons that don't work purely because people can't not be silly and ruin it for others.
The games, all arcade games are free! That's the main selling point, okay pool, shuffle board and slot machines aren't free but if you are going there for those things in particular there are venues more suited to your tastes.
The arcade games are great, some good ol' classics in there. Yes the cabinets aren't originals and they are mostly emulation machines but it doesn't really matter when they play well. Though there is some major screen tearing issues in certain games.
Also something must be done about Game Hogs. Certain people will just cling to a certain game. One particular game that they only have 1 of and as such nobody else gets to play.
I'll definitely be back but it would be good to see them fix some of these minor issues to increase longevity.
R. M.
It's pretty good but a lot of the machine's weren't working. All the pinball machines were either not working at all or faulty. Take your own drinks for the kids as they're charging £2 for a can of Coke.
J. “. J. H.
I really wanted to give this place 5 Stars because the Kids had a blast today but due to the amount of maintenance needed on a lot of the Games and there being no Fixed Time Limit to how long people are allowed to play a particular machine you were either faced with only one of the controls working on a 2 player game or stood waiting ages for inconsiderate customers to finish up which one gentleman and his son decided to sit on the Halo machine from when arrived until when i left. You need to place a fixed time that people are allowed on a particular machine and fix the many others before i consider returning to this establishment. In regards to food and drink save yourself a bomb and eat before you go drink prices are atrocious.
W. M. (.
Arcains is amazing and I will be going back, went in as a date for my anniversary and it is a lovely place with friendly staff.
Had about an hour and half inside but it felt a lot shorter didn't even realise the time going by and was almost late to our dinner reservation.
Next time I will give more time was only able to look at 1 floor and was heavily loving all the games had so much fun.
E. W.
Brilliant games,. Really enjoyed myself. But could not use toilets as they were filthy and not been cleaned in a while, the smell past the gents toilet, yuch you could smell it from so far away. Deffinatley needs a deep clean.
If all the games were free and it was clean would have been a 5*
Ps we were went for opening so no excuse for dirty toilets.
E. D.
This place is great for a day out you pay on entry and there's 3 floors of games to play. You can also buy food and drinks if you want too. You get a wrist band so can come and go all day. Well worth the money
J. W.
From the states so this was very exciting for my gamer family, it has vintage games new games, consoles, & computer games for 1 charge all games are free...But there are no prizes to be won except for winning the games
M. M.
Huge selection of games and an incredible space, drinks are a bit over priced, but when there are literally hundreds of games for free while most arcades would charge a pound a play, it's worth the entry price and a pound or two extra per drink
L. T.
Great place to have fun on a tonne of arcade games and even the latest and greatest in modern gaming upstairs.
My only gripe is that it costs £12 to get in (on a weekday, weekend is more) which isn't unreasonable considering the amount of games available however some games, such as the pool tables, still cost £1 to play ontop of that.
J. F.
An excellent venue providing some old school memories - my partner and myself thoroughly enjoyed our time here and we probably spent the best part of 4 hours gaming.
Definately better post 6pm when children are kicked out.
I'd also advise to arcains for a discounted ticket for wheelchair users since they cannot access the top floor - still the staff where very professional and accommodating on our visit.
M. L.
Surprisingly good! Went with the kids, but will return with my friends and take full advantage of the bar too (:
D. H.
Spent a good few hours here and really enjoyed it. Huge variety of games. If you had a few hours I'd definitely recommend it.
A fair few of the big racing multiplayer games were difficult to configure to get two players working. A lot of the shooting multiplayer games would have a gun that doesn't work. With the emulated machines it would be nice for more of them to have an indication of what the game is on the machine and to have instructions for the game printed on the machine. A lot of these games also had strange smoothing options and there was a fair bit of screen tearing. It would be nice if the machines could be configured to make them more like what the game would look like on actual machines.
D. C.
Great value for money, great games... Bit pricey for food and drink.
S. A.
Very interesting place for kids and adults The only thing I didn't like when you pass by the floor in the men's toilet there is a terrible smell
P. I.
Had a fantastic afternoon at Arcains, which houses a large selection of arcade and video games. Me and my partner spent a good 3 hours here and felt it was well worth the entry fee. 1 star lost because the bar wasn't what we expected and the top floor PCs weren't all playable but all in all a very enjoyable few hours. No Tetris game here though.
M. C.
Great value for money and a great place for some old school nostalgic gaming. The only downside we had was that only 1 pinball machine was working and some games were broken. This was probably down to some disrespectful individuals.
m.
We went to Arcains after the lockdown and it was so much fun, they provided cleaning materials at every station and there were loads of games available for us to play
e.
Ridiculous that the basketball, pinball, pool, air hockey etc are all paid for. That was one of our major reasons for going.
Steep entrance prince seeing as a great deal of machines are broken.
A great deal of other machines are emulators and several of these have extreme latency issues.
Several of the racing machines are not linked so you can't race against your friends.
pretty disappointed as expected big things (maybe too big)
M.
Amazing gaming place. With original retro arcade machines you can only find in Japan or USA. 3 floors full of legendary games. But that is not the end. They also have actual consoles (xbox one or ps4) you can play among friends or by yourself. You can spend hours in here just paying the entry price as almost everything is included on it. Love it. Cannot wait to comeback
A.
Great place to visit, but make sure you don't go when the kids are off school. Lots of selection of games, however there are a lot of repeats and quite a few broken machines. All in all would definitely come back on a quieter day!
J. T.
Brilliant fun revisiting all your favourite arcade games!
With drinks 😀
P. R.
Loads of old school arcade games, consoles and 4D games. It's a fantastic place to go and chill
D. L.
Very nice place some maintenance need but lots of great games to play, and a lot of time can be lost there
N. Y.
What an amazing place! You pay an entrante free and then you have three floors of arcades! Nostalgia and some really cool stuff, even a couple of Japanese ganes, PCS, consoles... You only need to pay extra to play a couple of games. They also have a bar and some food. You can spend hours here, if Iived here I would come often!!
B.
Really fun for a different date night. It's 6 quid more expensive on weekends so consider going during the week. We really got our money's worth. The games were really fun and there are 2 bars inside. Note that your entry payment doesnt include pinball machines, basketball or pool. A lot of the machines were turned off which was really disappointing. You can choose to leave and re enter all day using your wrist band which is a big bonus.
C. S.
The idea is superb. It's a great way to bring your mature adult self together with your carefree teenage past. However, a few too many machines were not working correctly for me. Possibly this was to enhance that authentic experience? But I doubt it. Looking forward to going again.
C. F.
A great range of classic and current arcade machines, you'll definitely find something for everyone here.
My only gripe is I wish the machines around the rhythm games were all a bit quieter; it made it very hard to hear the actual songs on most of them.
K. B.
First visit friendly staff and excellent atmosphere would highly recommend. I will definitely be visiting again.
A. G.
Could have easily spent a whole day here.
Weekdays, £12 entry is a no-brainer. This place is absolutely rammed with top-notch machines, all set to Freeplay. I've never been able to afford to complete any of the games on offer here before this. Getting to the end of Time Crisis 3 is no longer a childhood millionaire fantasy.
I went on a Thursday evening and in terms of busyness was just the right balance. Great atmosphere. I imagine at full capacity, getting on some of the more high-tech machines could be a bit of an Alton Towers-esque experience, but part of the old-school appeal of arcades was spectating strangers whilst waiting your turn.
I think if I found myself in town for a day and at a loose end, I know where I'd be spending it.
Chickened out of attempting the Dance Dance Revolution cabinet though. Nobody needs to see that.
J. L.
Lots of great arcade machines, amazing atmosphere, 3 floors of pure amazingness, the staff are an absolute delight, only problem is some of the machines are broke a bit too often, but there is loads of machines there so it makes up for it, that's why I still think it's 5 stars in my opinion
F. G.
Fantastic place. A big variety of games to keep you occupied on a rainy day. Hand sanitizer available everywhere. All the staff are really friendly and helpful. Definitely will be back soon.
Y.
A bit pricey, some decent games but alot of the older cabs are in poor condtion/broken. A few turned off cabs aswell. Many 3rd party cabs but some good games on them like waku waku 7. The outrun machine is a highlight. Its decent but the older machines are 50/50 if u can play 2player
I. “. C.
3 floors of heaven!
The price is amazing for what you get access to. And you can come and go all day!
One of those rare places that can take you back to a younger time.
I will be back again for sure!
E. T.
Lots of machines out of order and the basketball, Air hockey, pushing bags and pin ball machines were all additional cost, disappointing.
K. H.
Always have the most fun here.
Absolutely amazing value for money!!
A. B.
Brilliant arcade full of video game memories! Spent many hours here (lost track of time today haha)
S. S.
Stumbled on this place after a group trip to ghetto golf and actually ended up having more fun here! £18 each at peak time which nearly put us off but there’s 3 floors of games to play so it is actually good value over time. Would be 5 stars if all the games were included (pool table aside)
A. N.
Great place for the retro gamer , brings back your childhood gaming experiences 👍
R. A.
Fantastic venue lived playing the retro games and the more modern ones
J. Y.
Brilliant place to lose a good few hours! Huge choice of games, retro and new stuff.
Its on 3 floors so there's plenty!
M. P. (.
Great place to spend a few hours, must see place in Liverpool for retro and modern gaming
P. J.
Always love this place, Great games, fair prices on entry, food and refreshments and is perfect for all ages. Easily a massive recommendation for a day or night out!
E. F.
Came here with my boyfriend for his 21st, we had an absolutely fantastic time. Well worth the price, we will definitely be coming again!!
M. G.
Really enjoyed it. A shame some people have broken parts of some of the machines (drum stick etc) but there are plenty of games to get your teeth into. The kids didn't want to leave.
R.
Awesome place. So many retro arcade games and classic cqonsoles spread over 3 floors. One of the best places in Liverpool!
D. M.
Kids loved it, staff all helpful and friendly. Food was overpriced £4 for a Chicago town microwave pizza! So would eat in there again but overall a really good day out you can come and go until 9pm with kids so it's worth the entrance fee
N. U.
It's still fairly new so it's still a little rough around the edges. Most of the games are on modern machines, but in my eyes that's a pro rather than a con.
It's £16 pp and you can stay as long as you like (which is decent value for money!) That's 16 games, and you can do that easy.
The gaming PCs just need to be set up properly for LAN parties etc, and need a bigger library for sure. The computers need to be locked down so it's harder for people to mess with them / log into their own accounts, ruins it for everyone else.
Music got a little loud I seem to remember (on the second floor).
All in all, this place is cool, I will be going back!
Edit: one last thing I'd like to add is that the toilets need more help...
M. H.
The boys loved it...can't get a coffee though 😫
P. M.
Great value for money Great idea kids loved it place was so clean staff were amazing would recommend it to everyone gaming stations for all ages so games bring back memories from my childhood was so much fun can't wait to get bk 😀😀
A. C.
Lots of old skool games
New classics
Very good choice
I. S.
Visited Wednesday night, so £10 for all you can was good value. The selection of games were ok, but not great and quite a few were broken.
There are a dozen high spec PCs with a few games on, but disappointingly the staff didn't have a clue how to link up multiple users to play together over LAN
A. S.
Retro Arcade. Really fun. Avoid the hotdogs. The pizza and nachos were decent. Has time crisis which is always a win, shuffle board is good. Also has PC gaming.
J. T. D.
SO BLOODY EPIC!!! Stumbled across this arcade randomly, thinking it was just one floor...IT HAS THREE FLOORS! So many great games including ones found in Japan! If only they had this place in London!
D.
Great venue, friendly, clean and air conditioned! Was very tempted to have some of the pizza. Will come back next time im in liverpool.
A. W.
For £16 on a weekend it feels a little steep. Especially when some of the machines on the way in are pay to play. once past that there is a great selection and freedom to play. If you have the time to play a few games, it makes up for the £16 compared to the time-limited and token based arcades.
S. W.
The driving games and shooting games are good ,but many of the arcade games seem to be on emulation not genuine PCBs. And the joysticks have a lot of input lag.
K. H.
Fun place to go just a shame some machines are startin to show their age an look a bit beat up
E. S.
Great games good atmosphere but they need a new stick for taiko no tatsujin and more signs on the stairs, aside from that though, yeah it's great, a lot of kids but you'd expect that and there are enough games it's not too difficult to play what you want plus in the corner on the first floor by the entrance to the racing games and exit from rhythm games there's a street fighter two championship edition, real one not arcade one up, my little tip, kids cant go on their own, dig dugs broken, JoJo game back of the racing games up is jump, taiko no tatsujin has duraimon songs
s. g.
My now new favourite place to go, me and my husband are big gamers, and we just love it here. A bar, food and unlimited games, staff are so lovely to! The girl on the desk was so polite and smiley. Definitely will be back😊😊
_.
Good selection of games, shuffleboard is worth a go too. Some great modern machines. Emulation for retro rather than real cabs. Still fun but not quite the atmosphere of AC.
E. H.
Great evening out. Had so much fun that we didn't realise we had been there for nearly 5 hours. Great value for money.
D. W.
Took a group of children here aged 8-18 and they all loved it, spent over 2hrs here and will be coming back!
C. F.
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!
First time here. Heard about it at Comic Con. Was not disappointed!!
Hundreds of games, new and old! All the great retro and modern experiences under one roof! Absolutely nostalgic! Would 100% recommend to anyone!
M. E.
Fantastic place very clean tidy, hand sanitizer at all games, large open spaces easy to maintain social distancing, really great place for the kids and big kids, brings back loads of good memories of all the games I used to play when I was a kid. Couldn't reccomend this place enough, only problem food an drinks are mega expensive.
f. R. (.
Lovely place to spend time with kids ,staff are nice
M.
Kept my boy entertained although a lot of the machines were broken in some way. Still it is worth visiting with your kids to enjoy a few hours.
K. M.
3 floors of arcades and games. Great for the kids and adults. You can spend the whole day in there, have a beer and food and game all day for 10hrs. Pay to get in and every game is free. Much cheaper Mon-Fri. Wkends is expensive
p. w.
Superb value been a few times now since opening don't let the admission price put you off its more than worth it...such an amazing choice of retro and modern PS5 PC consoles etc we always come back for more!!
G. O.
Enjoyed a few hours and enjoyed playing all the games especially shuffleboard, bit disappointed that you had to pay for the basketball machines as i had to pay 70 pounds to get in.
D. D.
Had a lot of fun with friends. You pay a fixed fee at the door and all cabinets are free play. Basketball & pool is additional cost.
Wide choice of games, with most retro games being on emulator cabinets, but gun games, dance and rhythm games on original cabinets with peripherals.
Had a vast mix of retro to modern games (space invaders - fortnite) over 3 floors.
Some damaged cabinets, which was a shame, but not a real detractor from the breadth of choice.
A really great take on the arcade format as a whole, would happily go again!
A. H.
Best gaming experience in the city.
Loads of choice over all 3 floors.
Kids loved it and it was a nostalgic gaming experience for the adults.
H. H.
Would of given this a 5 star but their parking is disgraceful! Paid for a ticket on my card, ticket printed out, only to receive a pcn a week or so later. Couldn't find the transaction on my card and had thrown the ticket away at this point. There is obviously a fault with the machine and now i have a huge bill to pay if i don't win my appeal.
P. V.
Great place and affordable they got it all
T. T. (.
Would be worth the money if all the machines were working and people didn't let their kids sit at the same game for an hour straight. More variety would be nice
G.
Loved it! Facemasks and hand sanitiser given. Lots of games to play for children through to adults!! Some games we wanted to play were not on/broke but even still was a really good couple of hours out!
L. A.
Quite expensive to get in considering some of the games you still have to pay for. Also the equipment was not fully working. The headsets on the pcs
and most of the guns on the shooter games did not work. Lots of machines not even turned on as they apparently were broken. Not worth the money.
F. B.
Lovely place, really good games, but the toilets are always in a state and the noise is way too much if you have sensory difficulties or autism
R. M.
Great Arcade. New and Old. Brilliant spot with lots of other things in and around.
B. L.
Good fun - although a bit pricey.
M.
Cool place let down by no maintenance to some games, especially pinball. 1 out of 6 pinball machines working isn't exceptable.
D. C.
My two boys and myself all loved it, spent hours in there, welcoming friendly staff, great choice of games old and new, will deffo go again.
A. B.
Lots on offer. Annoying that pool and punch bags are pay to play stillm.
G. B.
Great place to bring back some gaming memories and kill some time...
A. B. (.
Was a good experience but lacking in some parts bar needed more work and bigger variety and a lot of games not working guitar hero ome controller dance revolution plus a lot just turned off assuming they not working. Ps4 lacking in good games fifa, apex and fortnite neither of these I would want to play. Experience it probably wont return unless changes are made.
P. C.
Loved this place. 3 floors of gaming. Lots of class games taking me back to my youth. Great for a night out with the lads, plenty of competition to be had. I will return with my nephew very soon he will love it.
A. M.
Unbelievable place well done Rob on a fantastic creation, never seen so many games and high end games in one place in my life!! Pay on entry is also an excellent idea!! Stay and play all day perfect!
P. B.
Awesome place, could spend all day here
S. K.
Great place for a day/night out
P. M.
Fun date night or out with mates. Only downside was number of machines broken/not working but was still a great experience and good value
L. B.
Liked this place, but the staff tried to kick us out an hour early after saying we could stay until the close. Thankfully they allowed us to stay an extra 45 minutes
l. a. j. d.
Bigger than I expected lots to play, drinks bit expensive and have some food before you go there's not much worth eating in there but good place.
J. S. (. R. P.
The elephant in the room is how does it compare to Arcade Club in Manchester. Well. It doesn't. I'll say this right now. Arcade Club is the better venue but it's also out of the way and a pain to get to from Liverpool.
Majority of the classic machines are emulated with cheap control parts and it feels it. The buttons are stiff to press and hurt after while. The machines are clearly mame running on LCD screens which is fine but Arcade Club feels like a real labour of love whole Arcains is...fine?
Also for £16 entry on the weekend I feel it's a bit of a rip off that the pinball tables aren't free. Don't charge me £16 then tell me it's further money to play the pinball tables when there free to play for the same entrance fee at Arcade Club.
But it's still early days and I think Arcains heart is in the right place. They have got some real machines. Was pretty nice playing Street Fighter IV, Tekken 3 and Tekken 7 on real hardware. It's just a shame their fancy Outrun 2 machine wasn't running.
It's not bad but it could be a lot better. There's some good machines but charging for pinball and the high price of food and drink really hurts the experience.
A.
Had the best time here, packed full of games. Perfect for adults and kids, staff very helpful and welcoming. Will definitely be back here asap.
I. “. D. S.
Pay only one time and play all day! AMAZING!!
L. s.
Loved it great place for the family

A. D.
Good idea but so many of the big games are broken, shooters without working guns and driving without a wheel.
L. C.
Great place and good fun, something different to do
S. C.
Great for the gamers that like the old style games. But a also a great day out for the kids 👍
J. D.
Kids loved it and so did I...well worth the entrance fee cannot recommend highly enough particularly if you are acretro gamer!
M. W.
Just go there and you will understand why i gave a 5 star review, nowhere better anywhere near us or worth travelling to.
E. C.
This place is amazing, cheap, easy access but for a few games you have to pay u think I spent more money on them than getting in
D. S.
Amazingly fun place, spent 5 hours here just playing all the games and having a few drinks.
C. c.
It was so good and well worth the money of u like arcade games
C. H.
Simply amazing 3 floors of games and staff are really friendly too only problem is the drink and food prices but overall a great place you will have a lot of fun.
J. P.
Real good fun, brought back a lot of memories. You could spend hours in the place. A lot of the older games are emulated so if you're a harccore gamer, this might cause you some annoyance. Will be going back 👍🏻
E. M.
Seriously fantastic value for money. We spent 7 hours here it was just amazing
J. S.
Great arcades £12 a wristband three floors of unlimited arcade games
K. B.
Great entry price to play free games plenty of classic retro games
A. S.
Took me lads had a good day
P. T.
Pretty good but a lot of broken or switched off games which was a bit of a letdown and popular machines always busy but that is to be expected
R.
It's alright but half the machines are broke. At the mind I'd rather go to NQ64
A. D.
Good idea but so many of the big games are broken, shooters without working guns and driving without a wheel.
A. O.
Kids loved it, but struggled to get on games once more adults started coming in
L. C.
Good selection of games... we spent quite a few hours here.
