Actually quite a decent municipal course. The course is pretty flat and there’s nothing here that’s too difficult. Had a good round here!

Played today Sat 1st Oct 2022. As ever friendly welcome and service from Sandra . She informed us 2nd hole was closed due to course work. We had 12 hours of heavy rain on the day before. Wow the course was very dry . Even the holes over the motorway were dry.. Only puddles we saw were in the odd bunker Greens were like carpets. The ball rolled very true on every green. Greens were the best we have played on all year

Great course for the money. Some clever holes. Bunkers need work but overall fairly well maintained. Looking forward to seeing how the building work gets on. But for the money you really cannot complain! We have often played in the evening and it has been nice and quiet.

This is the oldest golf municipal course in England . Golf wise a tough track .greens are municipal standard .It is a municipal golf course with a small club house on top of where you pay which is never open and I think you have to be a member to even go in it. The are 2 parts to the course which is split by the M62.The club house side is much kinder to the golfer than when you walk over the bridge to the 5th hole .It can be nice on the eye but there is many holes which are a card wrecking .iv seen many many people walking back over the bridge to the 12th looking like zombies and down to there last ball ha ha .

Good course and greens were excellent! The only 2 things to let it down for me are lack of signs to next tee and bunkers need weeding and topping up with sand. We will defo be back for another round 👌

Course in nice condition, greens excellent, fairways well maintained. Bunkers are in poor condition, more weeds than sand, don't let this put you off though, just stay out of them!

Brilliant course specially for beginners not many tricky holes and wide fairways. All greens was perfect and fairways was cut lovely, for the price I think it’s a win win. What I would say it get new sign posts for each hole so hole four wrote on a tree that’s all I can say really overall good value had a brilliant day today on there, the lad behind the desk friendly and nice 👍🏻 Would easily play again nice local course what doesn’t hurt the bank.

Take mosquito spray or something. Its okay. It met my expectations I guess. For only £16 for 18 holes you cannot grunble. Course was in good shape, again for only £16 it met my expectations. Greens are quite slow and some are very technical. The lad in the shop was helpful and the score card is really good. Sign posts need to be improved. And be warned, there's many midgies about so if you have potent blood like me then take some inspect repellent or something.

The golf course is in the best condition I've seen in years. The new management have really made a difference. Some interesting holes- 4th, 5th, 7th. The greens are in good condition, fairways well cut, tee boxes could do with some improvement. With some signposting and good maintenance, the golf course could be much better. The main negative is that as soon as the booking office closes and staff have left, hoards of golfers descend on the course without having paid any green fees for essentially a free round of golf! If standards are to be maintained, the management really needs to take steps to clamp down this unauthorised entry to the golf course!

Lovely fields for the kids to play and dog walking. Golf seems to be chocker all the time so I would reccomend you booking in advance if you can. Newly renovated and the grounds are beautiful. Great for a stroll, kick about and picnic.

Absolutely brilliant and ever so helpful staff, greens in great nick for a municipal and other side of motorway from 5 to 11th as good as any of the private courses in the vicinity e.g. Lee Park Childwall and Huyton & Prescot top marks 10/10 for Saturday 10th July even with the deluge of rain late afternoon

Lovely park to go to. Easy access off the main road. Disabled car park and also disabled access to the garden center. Ideal place for young children to have a run around and use up all of their energy.

Played this course on Thursday, it's in good condition, greens and fairways excellent . Well worth a visit. And not too expensive. Only one moan no facilities yet for a drink after the game.

They have monkey bars, a slide, a climbing frame, a big twistable tyre swing, a large tree to climb, bridges to walk over. It is quite small, but my children love going there. It is usually quiet which makes it a bit of a nicer experience. Definitely worth checking out.

For a municipal public golf course and the price... its an amazing course the greens are immaculate. When you get to them?!!!!LOL. As for the fairways 10%from being perfect. Good work from all the staff there.

I found the staff friendly and on a sunny day it was lovely to go around and do 9 holes. I never did the full 18 as it was over the hill to some of them so it wasn't for me. A nice municipal course.

Landscaping is OK and it's location is fairly well hidden visually BUT you may find it to be a bit too noisy with the m62 running alongside one edge. Concentrates on well kept wide open spaces rather than neat tidy flower beds et al

The improvement of this course over the last 12 - 18 months has been amazing. It's had a bad reputation over the years because of vandals and thieves but they've done some stellar work specifically on the greens which are some of the best I've played on from a Muni. Work looks to continue as they develop the park area and the clubhouse, this place is only going to get better.
