The golf course and accommodation were of a high standard. However there were service issues. The staff did try to be helpful but seemed a lack of organisation. Our door lock was broken and I would have expected that to be spotted when the room was prepared. With attention to detail and the staff training it could be amazing. A bottle of wine we ordered was mislabelled, when we bought it to the staffs attention they replaced it with another mislabelled bottle. Quite funny and annoying at the same time.

Captains charity day, course was in good condition(championship), there's been a lot off work done since I last played, food was disappointing after, a very watery curry....overall ok..

Stayed the night on a dinner/bed/breakfast basis. Didn't play golf so this review is for the hotel/restaurant side of things. Check in was quick and efficient, the room was OK but needed a bit of filler and paint in places particularly behind the door which had at some point been slammed open hard enough to put a hole in the wall behind it. Bit cobwebby in the corners too, a swish with a feather duster would sort that, but the bed was comfy and the shower was hot with good water pressure. Both bedroom and bathroom felt light and spacious. The food here was very good. I had gammon egg and chips, my wife had the burger and chips and both were good quality and decent portion sizes, and I'd say reasonably priced. Breakfast is a help-yourself buffet and again the hot food was of good quality. The staff were spot on the whole time, couldn't fault the service at all; on balance I would recommend this place and would stay here again.

We stayed overnight as we were guests at a wedding. The food at the wedding could gave been a bit better but the wedding itself was lovely and well organised. The room was very nice although one bedside table hadn't been cleaned, there was only one mug and one towel for two people. When I mentioned it I got no apology. Beautiful setting.

Attended a wedding here. Beautiful grounds and buildings. Friendly bar staff. Didn't stay in a room but saw one briefly and it looked lovely. Only gripes are that drinks were expensive but nothing special, signage on the grounds was poor, as was the lighting as we left. Good place even if you do need Google maps and a torch to find your taxi.

Refurbed entrance and shop in the last 12 months has improved the facilities with two very good courses to play. Accommodation and food is excellent and worthy of a more exclusive club but value is exceptional with boutique style rooms with top end bathroom fittings.

Fantastic Venue. Stayed there for 3 day golf tour in May 2021 and played both courses. Fairways and greens immaculate and the staff were so welcoming and helpful. Would 100% recommend this venue to a golf society and I will be making a return trip

Excellent venue for group golf. There were 8 of us (3 rounds, 2 nights). Two good courses, fairly wide fairways all in good condition, plenty of water to challenge you, greens really receptive but acceptably speedy and true. Championship course is more challenging but the Signature has been significantly improved during the lockdown period and is not far behind the main one. Drinks and snacks very reasonably priced when compared with the likes of Marriott, Q hotels, Macdonald, etc. Evening meals (on Your Golf Travel package) are ok but certainly not gourmet! Rooms are very comfortable. I would definitely recommend, particularly for groups on a 2 or 3 day trip.

We stopped off for lunch before meeting Claire to plan our wedding. We were both starving and had the burgers which were AMAZING! Great chips too and everything was piping hot. The social distancing put in place is really effective and just not an issue. This place has a gorgeous wedding venue I strongly recommend you check it out. Beautiful hotel on sight and Claire (the events manager) is fantastic.We were able to go through all our options for the big day. We got a clear breakdown of costs and she answered all of my silly questions. Looking forward to coming back.

Beautiful facilities. The driving range and club house are very impressive. It's also one of the best stocked pro shops I've visited. The course is great although quite challenging especially if you're not a big hitter. There are a few long par 4s with well protected greens. Food was also great.

My niece had her wedding here and it was lovely, the staff made sure the day went without a hitch and the whole event was fantastic from beginning to end. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and they went above and beyond. The food was beautifully cooked and very tasty. The room I stayed in was clean and well presented, had a bit of a hitch which was sorted without question. Overall I would recommend this venue and the staff they really helped to make my niece's day beautiful and amazing.

Great Venue with really friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast in the morning is superb with a great choice range. The rooms are decently sized with very comfortable beds. The bathrooms (or at least ours) was quite incredible actually. Very modern with heated floors, non steam mirrors and a smart toilet. Would definitely recommend!

The setting is amazing, very calm and tranquil. The views are fantastic. The choice of food is adequate and the prices are in line with similar venues. The reason I have given four stars is because although we booked we had over an hour wait because a large party of golfers went over there alloted time which caused a food delay to other customers. Otherwise I would highly recommend the steak sandwich with chips and salad and the Haddock with chips and mushy peas, not forgetting the bottle of wine.

Superb venue and great rooms. Staff all attentive and made your stay welcome from the chamber maids to all waiting staff. Packed out with golfers as it would be and must say the course from what we could see looks fantastic. Definitely go back. One draw back tell the management to get a proper coffee machine and employ someone to operate it for breakfast what you're got doesn't work well with taste and keeps running out of water.

Played here for the first time. Course is in a great condition, greens are a little bobbly due to non repairing of pitch mark's, but otherwise really good. Facilities and shop also very good too and food is nice. Happily recommend for a golfing visit. We'll be back next year

A nice golf venue, recently upgraded bar and lounge area with a very nice outside seating area. There are two 18 hole courses, the signature (shorter of the two but still pretty good) and the championship, both present a fair golf challenge. Plenty of room but some long holes to compensate! There is a nice restaurant which is separate and more formal to the bar meals area. I didn't get a chance to look at any of the hotel rooms but I am aware that they too have had a recent refit. There's a pretty well stocked pro shop and I found the staff really helpful. Worth taking a look if you are in the area.

Lovely setting in Nottinghamshire, the views of the city during sunset are amazing. Also a huge golf course with various water and sand obstacles. The golf course is kept well maintained and is very tidy. They also offered their rooms to NHS staff during COVID 19. Amazing people, very worthy of 5 stars .

A lovely setting for a wedding. Great staff and well coordinated. The only downside is the venue room, it was looking tired and shabby in parts. Needs new wallpaper and ceiling replastering. Other than that, I would recommend it.

Visited in late October in on a blustery day. I was amazed about how dry the golf course was and by the quality of the greens. The course needs to be played more than once to understand how best to play it as there is quite a bit if water (esp in the early holes) and more Out of Bounds than is good for it! This makes it feel a bit fiddly but on the plus side it makes you think on every tee. Still has the feel of a new course but growing in nicely. Friendly and modern attitude in bar and restaurant. Service was really good and the food we had was very good. For a Society venue , 2 courses and accommodation on site you really can't go wrong.

I can't comment on the golf facilities as I don't play but this is a great venue for functions. The staff are very accommodating and well organised. Nothing is too much trouble. The food is great too. They can easily handle 100 to 120 guests at a function. It is an impressive venue with great views over the golf course. They have a drop-down screen and AV equipment for videos, slideshows etc.

Me and my husband Derek had our wedding reception here in August 2013 and it was our first choice from the beginning. Carla was amazing during the process and tailored our day to suit our needs. Their flexibility and professionalism is a true credit to them and we would recommend this venue to anyone looking for a wedding reception in the future. The grounds were absolutely stunning and the service incredible. The food was of absolute high standard and we did not have to worry about a thing on the day. Debbie was great on the day, her organisation skills were fantastic and took care of everything with the help of the waiter/bar staff.

Whilst the Championship Course was undoubtedly in very good condition, the visitor reception was below par. The welcome was very muted, the reception person (for the golf) was not wearing a mask, although he was behind a screen, and there were plenty of other people not wearing masks as stipulated by the latest COVID-19 rules and had no badges to say they were exempt. No “Track & Trace” questions were requested and no “Track & Trace” QR Code poster was in evidence. All in all very disappointing in these troubled times.

Played the Signature Course and some very misleading signage. Anyone using a Garmin watch beware, the course has been altered and doesn't pick up correct holes and yardages. Greens were fantastic but must say this is the only course I have ever got lost on, 2 signs for next hole pointing in different directions.🤔

I would just like to say what a great club this is. Staff, Pros etc I organized a day for 32 players on 30th December (unbelievably windy) and were treated fantastic we played the Open course which was in excellent condition considering the weather.I am looking forward to booking my annual day there next year, to all concerned happy new year.

Four of us came for breakfast the other day. Staff were friendly and helpful but the glasses on the table were covered in watermarks, so had not been polished plus they should've been upside down to stop dust going into them! Another thing, the teaspoons were dirty - covered in tea stains - had to get them replace and even then had to polish them, teapot had tea stain from the spout plus inside was dirty! Last thing, tell the chef to cook fried eggs a little longer as still raw on top. To end on a high, the scenery was super. I make these complaints because I was in catering!
