H. R.We booked to have a high tea and were very happy with what we had.
A good sized bottomless pot of tea. With a center piece of finger sandwiches, plain and fruit scone and some small bite sized cake and some fruit pieces.
The building is a huge place. Reception is inside the front door to the right.
The cellar restaurant is along the corridor and down about twelve steps.
Toilets are situated just above the staircase leading to the restaurant.
Great views from inside the restaurant.
Plenty of tables.
The roast dinners looked really good.
Booking is advisable.
J. o.Wonderful stay. There was a hiccup when we arrived but the Hotel management were excellent and came up trumps to make our visit really enjoyable. Fantastic food and friendly and attentive staff.

S. D. C.We held my Mum's 70th birthday lunch here in the private dining room, 8 adults and four children. With a beautiful back drop of the surrounding valleys we enjoyed roast lamb, beef and sole which was delicious - generous, tasty portions.
The service was fantastic, the team were so hospitable, friendly and really made an effort to give Mum (and all of us) a special afternoon. They went above and beyond which allowed us to relax and enjoy our time together. The house and grounds are stunning, the pool was perfect for the kids and the managers and their staff were brilliant. Highly recommended for special occasions, thank you guys!

J. S.We have just returned home from another fantastic Christmas break at this beautiful hotel. This was our fifth visit at
Christmas time. The staff are very attentive, friendly and professional. The food is of an excellent standard, beautifully presented and tastes just wonderful. The recent addition of the Laura Ashley Tea Room is exquisite -serving perfect afternoon teas and delicious cakes/sandwiches. Ample facilities including golf course, spa, gym and swimming pool.
Thank you Wayne and your team for ensuring we had a fabulous time, see you next year.

S. H.We spent a very pleasant day in the Spa. Therapy treatment extremely relaxing and a nice separate small relaxing area away from other activities. Spa pool, sauna and jaccuzi very good but changing room and showers needs revamping. Finished off the day with afternoon tea which was fantastic, we were sat looking out over the fabulous Devon scenery.
Staff very accommodating we will definitely be back.

One of the top inland locations in Devon with wonderful views towards Dartmoor in one direction and Exmoor in the other.
What's not to like
M. C.Fairways in great condition. Tee boxes very rough. Greens had just been hollow-tined so not brilliant for accuracy, but they have to be done sometime. Very quiet (Tuesday) so nice relaxed round. Bar and facilities top notch.
S. G.Fantastic stay, we stayed in the Loft suite, which has a really comfy bed, sauna, steam room, bath, shower. Two 3D tvs, and is so big it even has a doorbell. Staff very friendly, good food, excellent Devonshire breakfast. The afternoon cream tea with champagne was delicious. The perfect venue for special occassions.
A. C.A well presented and pleasant place to play holiday golf, especially suitable for men and lady players alike. Good bar and changing facilities and the staff and members particularly friendly - which cannot be said for the Club Secretary.
