Reviews of Boundary Lakes Golf Course
K. S.
Lovely course. Well kept, Lovely greens. Just lots of short par 3s and very short par 5s. They are planning to lengthen the course. Really interesting layout on most holes. I pay a lot less via playmore golf, otherwise I don't think it's worth full price.
M. S.
I've been a member here since this spring having waited a for the conversation from a 9 hole. I've enjoyed the course in both summer and now the autumn. I'm loving it and look forward to the completion of the new sections. For me its got all sort of challenges and styles of course in one. The maturity of the old course has been cleverly incorporated into new and I can see it getting better and better. Some great views over Hampshire and the lakes on the course. Agree with the other reviews being impressed with continuing condition of the greens and course in the wet. Shotgun tomorrow morning and it's full! I'm not sure what a green keepers revenge is though.
N. S.
Very nice course. I managed to avoid the water but unforgiving rough so still managed to lose a few balls. Very nice greens. Quite a challenge for high handicappers like me. Nice bar area.
R. B.
Course is playing well. Typical summer conditions with hard fairways. Course is currently undergoing some alterations but not too intrusive.
W. H.
Played on 25.11.21 as members guests. £25 a round is good value. There was a business expo on at the Ageas bowl so parking was a little difficult, maybe some work can be done to keep them away from parking near the golf course as if golfers have to lug their gear from the other car parking, it's a considerable walk.
Chap in the pro shop didn't know much about the condition of the greens as I asked if they'd been hollow tined etc. Turns out they had but looked to be a week or two ago it was done. They were fantastic. Lovely roll, frightening pace if leaving yourself exposed and plenty of break.
The resort style golf they're aiming for increases the enjoyment while walking around the course and very few holes that seem bland.
Will definitely be returning

Played the course during June this year. Greens in excellent condition, and all fringes around the green were also perfect. Excellent day's golf.
P. C.
Very nice course, lots of attractive lakes, greens are really good. Highly recommend.
J. P.
Although the golf course is not long it still provides a reasonable challenge because of the undulating landscape and water hazards. There are plans to make further improvements to the course over the next couple of years.
S. W.
An excellent golf course and its in absolutely fantastic condition given the amount of rain over the last few months. The greens were superb and as good as any I have played on during winter months. Pace of play was good. The course itself is challenging but not unforgiving making it suitable for all levels of golfer. The pro shop staff were very helpful and courteous. In summary, one of the best courses in and around the area.
R. B.
I joined as a member here in January 2019 and have to say it’s the best 11 months I’ve ever had playing golf. The club competitions are great and really regular and I’ve met a great bunch of members who are friendly and make you feel part of the club. The course is stunning no matter the weather and there is never a temporary green in sight. There are many challenging holes and it has lots of character despite only being open 2/3 years. The pro shop and staff always make you feel welcome and the clubhouse serves some great food set overlooking the cricket ground as well as great views over the golf course.
P. O.
Joined with my dad on 1st April 2019 coming from one of the Winchester Clubs.
Absolutely love the variety of holes the course offers and especially looking forward to the development of two new holes in years to come.
The quality of the greens is second to none and really make this course challenging and acts as it’s line of defence because it could be argued that the overall distance is not that long of a modern day golf course.
The condition of the course is always of a high standard and there is a lot of work that is carried out on the course weekly.
Since joining we have meet a great bunch of people up here who are all very welcoming and a pleasure to play golf with!
Looking forward to 2020 at Boundary Lakes
d. y.
Overall a great place to play golf, the terrain provides some really interesting holes, with some challenging second shots, and strategically placed lakes adding spice to some tee shots.
Would play again but with a buggy
J. J.
Very friendly club house and shop, always pleased to help. Greens are fantastic considering the coarse has only been open 3 years. All my guests have praised the coarse conditions and tell me that they have really enjoyed the round. This is not an easy course to play and gives the golfer a real challenge throughout the year. I have played at many courses in the area and find that Boundary Lakes is up there with the best.
R. F.
Played here several times as a members guest. Challenging course and in great condition considering most of the course is relatively new. It’s obvious that significant investment is ongoing and continual changes are being made to improve the course layout and maintain the condition. It’s quite up and down so you will notice you have had a good workout after 18 holes. Some of the greens require you be very aware of where not to miss them given the contours and multiple levels. Overall good value and fun to play.
K. R.
I’ve been a member since they opened it up as an 18 hole course. It’s a challenging course but you get a real sense of achievement when you finish, no matter how well you play. The greens are fantastic and it’s obvious that a lot of effort has gone into the design and continued upkeep so that they have been, to date, always playable. The staff members make a great team and are always happy to help in any way they can.
A. J.
Played it today (14/11/19) The outstanding thing about this course is the greens. After the rain we have had recently, the greens were fast and rolled true.
Fairways are in great conditions, especially for the time of year. I play a lot of golf in the winter on lots of different courses and you will be hard pressed to find a course in such good condition at the moment. Some courses I wouldn’t even bother to play once we get to the really rainy season as I hate temporary greens. Boundary lakes is great in the summer and it’s probably the best course in the winter.
J. T.
Been a member at Boundary Lakes since day 1 and compared to the other four local clubs I have held memberships at previously this is by far the best for playing and sociability.
A good test of golf and if you’re prone to being a bit wild when playing, bring plenty of balls.
Play golf all year round on this course, have only ever seen one temporary green on the course and this was whilst work was being carried out on a green.
P. T.
I have been a member since September. The course is challenging, especially the fantastic greens! The staff are also very helpful, and friendly. I've been very impressed with how the course has held up in the last month or so given the amount of rain we've had. Really enjoying the course and looking forward to getting stuck into the comps next year.
n. h.
Having been a member of a few clubs in the area over the years, I moved to Boundary Lakes just over a year ago - the best move I ever made. The course is always in superb condition, even in the worst of weathers and I have never known it to have temporary greens. The course is always well presented and looked after by a great team of green keepers and the staff in the pro shop will always give a warm welcome to you.
a. c.
Great course, friendly staff, good food, really challenging course but enjoyable 👍
A. E.
Boundary Lakes is a challenging course, greens are some of the best around. You don't need to able to drive the ball 250yds+ to have chances on this course, but wayward shots are punished. Staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Beautiful setting, good example of modern day golf course design.
M. F.
Joined as a member in 2018 and had no hesitation in renewing my membership this year. The staff are always friendly and helpful, the communication from the greenkeeping staff is excellent, and the course is both challenging and well looked after. It's now the middle of November and despite all the recent rain, the course is holding up extremely well.
T. F.
Such a pleasure to play this course. The green keeping staff have done a magnificent job and the pro-shop team ate the friendliest team that I have met in all the courses I've played over 30 years. Recommend it to any potential societies that are looking for a challenge!!
D. A.
This is my first year as a member at Boundary Lakes having moved from another local club. I have been extremely impressed with the level of work and investment that goes in to maintaining the course. Whilst not the longest course it provides challenges for golfers of all levels.
The team in the pro shop go out of their way to be helpful and the variety and organisation of various competitions has been excellent.
c. b.
I have recently played the course for the first time and it is a beautiful setting with perfectly kept but challenging greens. Even in the current wet weather the course is in fantastic condition. So impressed with this and friendliness of staff that I have chosen to become a member.
R. H.
Great course with completely different holes. Greens are amazing with not a straight putt anywhere on the green. Has a great pro shop with a wide range of stock, and very helpful and knowledgeable staff. Also a beautiful clubhouse over looking the cricket pitch 1 side and the golf course the other.
P. D.
I have been a 7 day member of Boundary Lakes since it opened, and a Corporate member this year and I will be keeping the Corporate membership for 2020. I have hosted a good number of business meetings on the course, and then hosted in the club house, and during the Cricket season taken a game in too, there are not many superb golf clubs that can boast or even offer that.
The pro-shop team are very knowledgable and helpful, and the club house hosts make everybody feel welcome.
The course has grown, matured and evolved fantastically well in this time, and with the addition of the 2 new holes that are being built, will only help and cement the course as a favourite for all.
t. p.
A group of 14 just visited boundry lakes on a stay and play package, from day one the staff were so helpful and couldn't do enough to make our stay comfortable and easy.
The course is in really good condition for the amount of rain we have had. All in all its been a really good couple of days, we can't wait to return
A. F.
Having played at this course for about 18months and been a member for six months, I can honestly say that there are very few courses that manage the course and greens as well as Boundary Lakes. Throughout the whole of winter last year there was not one temporary green and mats were kept to a minimum, not many courses manage to achieve that. I would highly recommend this course as it is one of the best in Hampshire/Dorset.
T. F.
Fantastic golf course. Plays brilliantly even after all the rain we’ve had recently! Lots of challenging holes with some dangerous water around! Greens are true and a great clubhouse overlooking the Hampshire cricket ground.
A. C.
Friendly golf club with a good mix of holes which are a challenge for all abilities. The greens keeping staff keep the course in superb condition throughout the year. Well worth a visit!
M. T.
Future looks bright when they finish the new holes, and clubhouse. But for now, it’s okay.
M. R.
This is a great track, don’t think that you can just ‘blast’ your way round (like I thought) you need to carefully plot your way round at times, holds up extremely well with all the wet weather we’ve had. The greens are always exceptional, really tough to read at times, but that’s what I like about them. The pro shop is always well stocked, and the staff are always friendly, and nothing is too much trouble for them ! I’ll definitely be back.
J. S.
Modern and inclusive golf club. Growing ladies section, friendly staff. Course playable all year and greens maintained to very high standard. Have been a member for 18 months, love the course and the mixed competitions.
S. N.
The beauty of Boundary Lakes GC is that there aren’t any temporary greens at any time. They’re looked after with such care and expertise. The course is a joy all year round. It’s a friendly place with fantastic staff throughout, and a beautiful clubhouse overlooking the Ageas Bowl Cricket Ground - a great addition at the end of your round during the cricket season.
L. P.
Love this course. Its a great challenge. The course is beautiful in the spring and summer and has held up better than most courses during this very wet period. Still playing off grass tees which is great. All the staff at Boundary Lakes are very friendly and helpful helpfulfrom the
R. P.
I joined boundary lakes in early 2019, the course is always in great condition and it provides a great challenge. There is a really good/friendly atmosphere at the club and I fully intend to renew my membership for 2020!
M. D.
I joined as a member 2 months ago and haven’t looked back since. All the members of staff in the pro shop are welcoming, clubhouse is perfectly situated to look over both the cricket ground and golf course and as for the course itself, perfect, it is extremely well looked after and playable even in the wet weather we currently have, the greens are in fantastic condition and there is a great variety of holes.
c. w.
I played my first ever round here yesterday as a new member it was a great afternoon and the course is amazing the only downside was there was a group of kids sat on the 16th fairway playing music and no Marshall in site all afternoon to tell them to get off the course
D. C.
I've been a member for 2 years now, and am amazed at how far the course has progressed, never a temporary green, despite the s**t weather, rewards good play, but go wayward and you will get punished, length isn't everything ( when it comes to golf courses) ! Good food served in the clubhouse and a well stocked pro shop all add to the appeal, give it a go, you won't be disappointed 👍
J. H.
Joined at the beginning and have been impressed by the way the course is continually improving. The greens have been maintained at a high standard from day one and it is thanks to the dedication and efforts of Management and Ground staff that the course is going from strength to strength.
R. B.
A great course with some really interesting holes, plenty feature water! The greens are always in good condition all year round. A challenging test for anyone! Recommend the pro shop too.
T. R.
Magical course, tight and a real challenge of golf.... precision is key. Green superb. Looking forward to the enlarged course and new clubhouse.
l. b.
This is a great course looks easy but believe me it's not the greens are in great shape the green keepers have worked wonders over the last few months and the course will test you then after your golf they have a great club house with a view of the eighteenth green one side and the other side the cricket ground
J. P.
Been a member since 2017, compared to local courses it handles the weather really well and is a good challenge for any golfer, never seen a temp green and never really needed one 👍🏼
m. r.
A great Course. Been a member here for thelast three years. The groundstaff are always striving to improve the Course and the conditions are great. The greens are first class, even at this time of year and the Course is a great challenge.
A. B.
Great course. Been a member for just over a year and staff always helpful. Played last weekend after the monsoon rains and the greens were still rolling true with no temps!
G.
Well maintained golfers course. You need a choice of shots to get round here. A few to many par threes but the new holes being added will correct this.
A.
A very nice course. Great views from many locations on the course and the club house. Well worth playing. Not too hilly a course with many nice holes. well stocked pro shop and has spa facilities adjacent in the Hilton.
S. S.
Joined in September and am really impressed with the whole set-up. The course holds the water really well, the greens are excellent and the course maintenance is really good. A very friendly club.
P. J.
Although a fairly new golf course it is tough and interesting with some challenging holes.
A fine test for all handicaps , the undulating greens are playable all year
I. C.
A challenging course, well maintained, with excellent greens. The pro shop is well stocked, competitively priced and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The club house is top notch and the food is excellent.
s.
Great course, thriving membership and no hint of a temporary green, even while local clubs suffer year in year out. Well stocked shop, manned by knowledgeable staff. Captain is also a lovely, attractive bloke.
T. d.
Been a member here since the opening and it just keeps getting better, with all the hard work from green keepers, club staff and pro shop, and i still look forward to playing this course, and so do my guests⛳
R. L.
A lovely looking course in good condition, especially the greens, even with the amount of rain we have had it does not seem to affect the course and trolleys are still allowed which is good for an old bloke like me, it might only have an SSS of 69 but boy it takes it out of you, it is far harder than it looks. Well worth a visit.
A. P.
Joined this year, club house staff are really helpful and pleasant. Course is well maintained and takes some course management.I’ve had a fitting for cobra woods which have taken several shots off my game.
R. H.
I joined here last month. It’s a fabulous golf course with some tricky holes. Really great clubhouse and the guys in the pro shop are really helpful. I would highly recommend it
C. W.
Played this course last weekend and was very impressed by the conditions of the course after the weather we have had a big thumbs up the green keepers there
I would also recommend eating there after your round
Keep up the good work
C. B.
Tidy and challenging , but the layout needs an overhaul , over half of the holes are #blind often for the second shot also , not ideal and most yardage watches will not have this young course listed, also not ideal.
L. S.
On arrival the welcoming was polite and helpful and considering the recent bad weather you wouldn't believe how well the course was maintained with every green running as good as some courses in the Summer. Always a great track
J. S.
Played a few rounds on green fee and loved it so much I joined as a 7 day member , fantastic facilities and lovely staff , really enjoying my time at this course
B. N.
A challenging but enjoyable course to play. The course is in very good condition thanks to the hard work of the ground staff. Pro shop staff always friendly and helpful.
T. F.
Played in a society day today and have to commend the management and ground staff - the course whilst a little wet in areas after the deluge of rain we have had over the lady few days has the most fantastic greens I've played on for this tile of year...awesome!!!
G. K.
Been a member from day one . Shaun and the staff are really friendly, the course is in fab condition and brilliant in these horrible winter conditions, can’t wait for the new holes to be finished as this will enhance an already fabulous course!!!!!👍👍👍
D. A.
Very proud to be a member. A great club, friendly staff, course always in good condition and open. Greens tricky, true and well paced with some good challenging holes.
P. m.
The course is a great challenge and was in really good condition, not a place for the faint hearted. You really need to work your way carefully to keep on the fairways and greens.
J. S.
Just played Boundary Lakes and in my opinion although it plays only just over 5100 yards this is one of the trickiest most picturesque courses in the south of England. Will definitely be back in the near future.
s. s.
Been a member her since the day it opened. Fantastic golf course all year round. Wouldn’t go anywhere else.
Would highly recommend anyone to give it a go.
P. G.
Most impressed with a relatively new golf course,7 par 3s but not Mickey mouse! Very testing greens. Shame about the hotel.
r. g.
Joined this year, course is well maintained and a joy to play, well stocked golf shop with knowledgeable staff.
k. r.
Great golf course all holes are a challenge for any level of golfers. And a good clubhouse for food and drinks and the staff are very helpful.
M. T.
Nice course with large green's but for a first time of playing I didn't know where I was going from tee to green.
A. M.
Joined here last week .very friendly and helpful environment. Greens and tees are in excellent condition. A great variety of holes .
B. F.
Friendly pro shop staff, Marshall was very helpful in giving advice, found out very soon that you have to plot your way around the course. Greens have subtle breaks that can catch you out.
a. p.
Course played very well, green's Very fast. Hotel not good at all evening meal pityful service way too long did not enjoy.
D. C.
Had a great day golfing at Boundary Lakes recently. Thanks as always to Shaun and the team for their professional and friendly service levels!
R. G.
The greens are really good but the course is a bit short with 6 par threes. The course is under continual development and plays well.
A. M.
Really enjoyed my round of golf. Course is a hilly challenge
P. B.
Challenging short course, some interesting holes with friendly Pro-Shop staff although a bit of a climb to the club house.
W. G.
