Reviews of The Ageas Bowl
N. N.
Nice hotel with good views and good access to the motorway or city by car. Needs some refurbishing. Some mould in the bathroom and skirting needs replacing. Not very quiet when busy and breakfast average and a bit crowded so not ideal post covid routine.
S. U.
What can be better than a summer day in June watching cricket? This was a county match on a weekday so not all the food outlets were open but had a most enjoyable time. Parking very easy too as I travelled on two wheels. Looking forward to my next visit.
j. g.
OMG what a wonderful cricket venue . The best I have visited . Parking was easy , facilities amazing with a great selection of eating places and refreshments and the view from the seats fabulous
Y. G.
The Ageaa bowl is a wonderful Cricket Stadium, built to a very high standard. Located in Southampton, it offers an opportunity to enjoy some good cricket, and also enjoy a day out in a very nice town. The ground itself offers fabulous views for the spectators. The facilities are nice and clean. A great place to enjoy cricket.
P.
Great stadium and setting for cricket. Superb viewing why is this not a regular and permanent international ground @ECB
A. H.
I went to a match in The Hundred. Really enjoyable experience. Great atmosphere! The stadium facilities were good. I didn't have to queue for restrooms. There were a lot of food options. The China town stand had a short queue so I tried that, the sweet chilli chicken noodles were nice. The seats were comfy enough. Leg room was decent. I'd recommend a visit.
C. R.
Well organised. Stewards fantastic. Food fantastic. Brilliant experience. Seating has plenty of leg room.
Just a thought put seat numbers on back of seats aswell as front
S.
Beautifully appointed stadium in a stunning setting. Friendly welcome. Easy to use self scan turnstiles. I sought the sanctuary of shade towards the back of the Warne Stand but the modern design means any seat offers a clear view of the action. I used public transport to get to and from the venue, about a half hour bus journey from Southampton City centre. Traffic did look horrendous at the end though despite the crowd only being a few thousand for a County 50 over match. Didn't sample food options but all looked good. One gripe is poor quality and value of beer choice. £6 for Greene King IPA, £5.50 for Carlsberg. Fortunately you could byo for this match.
s. h.
Afternoon tea was absolutely lovely. Nice selection of savouries and cakes. Service was spot on and everything flowed nicely. Disabled toilet was spot on everything there that you could need and even a nice sensor operated bin for those like me that can't use the ordinary foot pedal bins. Great visit would come again
K. C.
Very nice place. And organised. Has massive parking
A. J.
Love this cricket ground. No bad view and we had great seats for the T20 double header
P. W.
First time visitor, good choice of food & drink stations. Bus supply to & from the ground was great
R. W.
I went to see a "100" game with my son and grandson, arrived at the train station/ airport, parked the car in the multistorey carpark, and to a shuttle bus to the ground arriving just in time to watch the women's match, The ground had many good outlets supply the culinary needs ( although quite expensive I paid £16 for two Bratwurst) of everyone, as well as bars and cool drink outlets to satisfy the needs of the thirsty, plenty of clean toilets all around the ground. After the women's match the men had their game which finished about 10.pm we 5han had to queue for the shuttle busses back to the car ( we queued for about 49 minutes before we got on a bus ) all in all a great day out our teams won which was an added bonus we all three enjoyed our day at the Ageus bowl and will return when the opportunity arises.
K. H.
However busy it is, it feels intimate and having the trees in the background just makes the venue look beautiful.
J. E.
Brilliant evening watching Ampshire smash Kent, its really the best ground in the Country. A fabulous atmosphere and DJ really caught the mood.
E. H.
Incredible atmosphere. Food is quite pricy but that’s to be expected, there is a very good selection so everyone can get what they want.
J. C.
Love the rose bowl. Always gutted when the Indian isn't open (why isn't it open everytime? - would give 5 stars if it was) Their paneer wrap is the greatest I've ever eaten. Facilities are top tier & staff very helpful. Great day out for the cricket & I'd highly recommend the spa too.
M. M.
The Rose Bowl, Hampshire's fourth home and its most state-of-the-art, was designed by award-winning architects Michael Hopkins & Partners and hosted its inaugural first-team match in 2001. The ground, shaped like a circular amphitheatre, and its highlight - the three-storey pavilion with canopied roof - is a splendid feat of architecture.
A. L.
Came here to watch Southern Brave against Welsh Fire. Not a massive cricket fan, but thanks to the entertainment of the DJ and lots of fan interactions I had a great time and loved the match. Plenty of food options during the interval. Just make sure to plan ur way home before because the bus service wasn't incredible, and we had to plead with train driver once we arrived at the station to open the doors.
G. M.
Was invited there to a corporate cricket event. I was really impressed with the ground, the staff and the quality of the food. Excellent day all round and I will definitely go again.
L. C.
Great Serenity spa day !
Lovely facilities, receptionist helpful and showed us round, polite and clear information given.
Afternoon tea was OK, was expecting more than 2 scones, cream jam and coffee,a little dissapointing, as listed as afternoon tea, ehich is generally more than scones. The pantry staff were friendly and polite and area tidy, staff were helpful.
The Spa znd changing rooms were clean and tidy, I observed staff checking on PH on pools and outside spa pool regularly. Everything worked. Even had straighteners in the changing area.
My treatment was by a beauty therapist Jennifer...really was an excellent back massage, cocoon and facial. Very genuine, informative information of the products being used and their benefits. Really relaxing and completed my relaxing spa day. Jennifer had customer satisfaction at heart whilst maintaining customer dignity and making the experience individual and special.
Excellent day ! I would recommend this spa.
T. Y.
Went for India v NZ, Final. Covid restrictions on capacity. Staff were not jobsworths which was good. Good stadium, on small side. Do not drive here, or use Park+ride. Take train from Waterloo to Hedge End and walk 1.5M.
P. W.
What a fantastic hotel, rooms are really comfortable, food is very good with a good selection of dishes. The staff were very friendly & so very helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel & we will definitely be returning for another stay in the future.
P. C.
Attended T 20 blast Cricket was great the ground and facilities are great , beer £6 a pint and fish and chips £14.50 so be prepared for this when visiting... overall an enjoyable experience....
G. A.
Nice stadium, really challenging golf course, Boundary Lakes
C. L. (.
Business conference
Cracking venue
A good day out
Amazing staff
Highly recommended
Y. E.
Always love going to the Rose Bowl. Alas Hampshire lost but it was dry and the great Indian food cafe was brilliant as usual. We are back again next month.
T. S.
What a fantastic spa day with friends, polite helpful and organised staff, went for the banquet upgrade on cream tea food was fresh and well laid out. Thankyou all. And thankyou to the ladies on spa reception lovely .

El Classico south coast derby
Great seats and good food.
j. v. n.
Nice....some bar staff needs more training...short term memory when u order one bottle of wine and 2 glasses and 2 cider with one glass...was asked 3 times what I wanted ?
H. D.
Very good ground. Not many runs. Good wheelchair access. Nice new stadium. Good facilities. Lots of space. Able to sit. Many of the seats are plastic. Been for world cup and was a nice atmosphere
S. K.
A great place to watch cricket with uninterrupted views.
Good transport links, catering facilities.
S. A.
A beautiful stadium. It can really be appreciated when viewed from the Hilton Hotel room balconies.
M. B.
Hospitality was great. But the email said I get into the ground at 1pm. But I arrived I couldn't get in to 1:30
k. h.
Always a good day. Facilities good. Advisable to take some food and drink with you £4 for a basic milkshake(just milk with flavouring) £6 for a burger.
s. s. b.
Amazing Cricket Ground, view is awesome from all the stands. Was here to watch Ind Vs Afg 2019 Cricket Worldcup match.
s. m.
Great place to watch cricket, plenty of food and drink outlets. View from any part of the ground is brilliant!!!
A. F.
Lovely location and great staff. Stayed there's few times now and each time it has been a lovely experience. The staff make it for me as they have always been super helpful each time. The Hotel itself is fantastic with good views over the Cricket Green if you are lucky enough to get that room, and views of the golf course on the other side and good food in both the Restaurant and Bar. Definetely would go back again. Thank you for making me feel welcome .... highly recommended 👌
I. R.
Excellent venue for golf and cricket, friendly staff, nice rooms and good food.
F. O.
Lovely hotel. The staff are attentive too. They act promptly when you have any requests or complaints.
You can get room upgrades if you request and there is availability.
Lovely golf and cricket ground and lovely views from some of the rooms.
The food is not the best at the restaurants for the price but still good enough.
G. S.
Saw my first ever live match of India Vs South Africa(ICC WC) on 5th June 2019. What a beautiful ground & had a awesome time, most importantly we won that match. 🤗💐🙏🏻🇮🇳
S. J.
Room was gorgeous and worth the B&B rate BUT evening dining was lacking and pretentious; a lack of plant based options and was very expensive for what I had ie. small soup, side salad, fries, onion rings with two glasses of wine was £46 quid so not likely to pop along with the family anytime soon.
Breakfast buffet very good!
J. M.
Went with the family. Sat in the family area. A bit of 'language' issues..but soon sorted out. Great, modern cricket ground, Food and drink is a premium so pack some sandwiches! The burger on its own £7.50 We paid to park at the venue, and getting away proved quite lengthy 50 min despite the advertised 20 min.
I get the fact that they let the pedestrians go first but there are ways to segregate which could be further explored..
I would proably park and ride net time or look at possibly catching the train.
G. N.
Great venue easy to get to but we drove and a nightmare to get out off , next time will stay at hotel nearby to really enjoy the experience would be 5 five stars apart from exit time but still excellent day 😀!
P. V.
Good atmosphere. Food not cheap, but far better quality than StMary's Stadium.
Y. F.
Really nice Hilton hotel on the outskirts of Southampton, convenient for the motorway.
I had a lovely room with a perfect view of the bowl.
The restaurant was nice, perfect for a tranquil meal outside peak times of course. Really looking forward to coming back at some point
A. G.
Went there for England vs West Indies WC 2019 group stage match, nice facilities and very nice stadium and with good weather during the afternoon made the day even more enjoyable.
B. S.
Very nice cricket ground. Efficient and well placed. Food and drinks can be pricey as in any sports venue..
r. b.
Beautiful bright airy rooms in the hilton hotel with balcony view of cricket pitch. Spotlessly clean. And fabulous food and spa too. And the team there were all incredibly polite and friendly. Whats not to like.
T. C.
Had a wake here was very good food and staff very helpful wise to find out witch room you have before hand tho as its a big place and some car parks are best for each room
R. C.
Home of Hampshire Cricket Club. Excellent views from any part of the ground. Impressive stands and an very good pavilion. The Hilton Hotel is at the opposite end giving a truly international feel to this modern facility which is finding itself more and more on the international cricket calender....and rightly so. Food drink and toilet facilities under the stands with food and drink kiosks on the berm for T20 etc. Only thing that stops it being 5* is the car access....or more accurately departure. Always long delays getting away from the ground.
j. w.
Hundred first time to watch cricket. Great to watch and kids loved it to.
A. M.
Very good ground to watch cricket. It doesn't matter where you sit you get to see. Lucky to have it on my doorstep.
E. J.
Good venue. Nice facilities. Felt the vegetarian food options were unimaginative.
S. C.
Great day out. Went to see India play Afghanistan in the World Cup group match. Should've been a routine win but Afghanistan took India all the way and thankfully Shami got a hattrick at the end which finished them off. The facilities are great. Car park near the ground cost £20 but make sure you leave early. There is heavy traffic to the car park. I did see a few £10 car park about 5-10 minutes away, so that's another option
M.
Witnessed the final game India vs New Zealand. Awesome view.
R. W.
"Bringing Cricket to the south coast"
The Ageas Bowl is a fantastic ground for the England Vs West Indies ODI, or Hampshire's local T20 blast games. The atmosphere can electric.
There are plenty of facilities for all the family, and expect to see some famous faces.
However, if it is due to rain, and you've brought a car, don't follow advice and park at the bottom of the field.
J. L.
Went to my first T20 blast. A really fast paced form of cricket with music playing between overs. Plenty of fun for all the family. Lots of food and drinks on sale
Y. P.
Great evening out. May join next year. Love cricket.
S. H.
Love going for the cricket, not a bad seat in the house, food and drink- usual stadium fare, my thoughts, not value for money #realworld
A. R.
This is the great one.
The perfect touch of nature and well maintained.
It has a huge seating capacity and we'll equipped with new technology.
Very good views from almost all the angle.
The shared photos shows the latest photos of India match with afgan.
Please don't forget to to like if you finds it interesting.
V. K. J.
One of the nicest stadiums I’ve ever been to. The traffic was very well planned for World Cup match. The staff are very friendly and polite handling the crowd. Very clean areas in and out of the stadium. Thoroughly enjoyed the overall experience!
M. S.
Have watched 2 cricket matches here so far.. and i can safely say this is probably the best stadium we have...excellent covid compliance..
P. H.
Fabulous location to hold an event. My Gaming Table supplied fun casino tables for a Spring Ball
A. D.
What a beautiful spa and experience I would recommend it to anybody wanting to relax and have a good day
A. D.
Very impressive ground , the view was great . Good place for all cricket fans, easy to find ,2 miles off the motorway
J. Y.
The view is awesome! Bug bang beer is tasty too! Hotel people are friendly. I definitely will choose this hotel again!
J. S.
Sitting on your terrace, overlooking the bowl in the sun is lovely but unfortunately there’s no bath for wifey and there’s no minibar.
The rooms facing north/ car park are pretty dark during the day.
I wish Hilton would offer better beer than Stella and Tesla Superchargers.
Hotel staff are lovely, grounds are well groomed. Dining not very good but breakfast is fine.
N. S.
A small stadium with friendly atmosphere at the Ind v Nz WTCF21. Fewer people therefore easier to get food and drinks than compared with a full stadium.
e.
Had a fantastic day at The Hundred. Really well organised venue. People really approachable and friendly. Best cricket venue ever!
S. P.
Easy to get to. Plenty of free parking. Clean and tidy. Nice suites for hire good views over ground.
s. k.
A very well managed ground/stadium. The access is easy and the seats are quite comfortable. Provides great views all throughout.
G. S.
Attended a Christmas party this week.
The food was excellent and the portions were very generous, I would eat there again in a heartbeat. The suite was clean and there was plenty of sanitisers so everyone felt covid was being taken seriously without it being intrusive.
It was a shame that we did not have access to the go-carts as advertised as we were really looking forward to it...the staff didn't know if they were operating and we were told to just go and find out for ourselves (after investigating they were indeed not free for us to use) This was a little off and I felt that guests shouldn't have to navigate themselves around an unknown venue, (getting lost in the process) when it would have surely been a quick 5 minutes for an employee to find out?
The bar staff were fantastic but the servers could do with a bit more training in customer care, communication and just general politeness.... Drinks were cleared from the tables without being finished and all the servers just looked unhappy.
All in all a great night though despite a few hiccups that training and feedback would rectify and I would definitely attend another event.
A. R.
Great place, very well managed for crowd.
B. T.
Outstanding ground for watching cricket. One of, if not the best in the country! Beautiful and tidy ground, particularly enjoyed being able to go and get a hot dog while still watching the game. Would be 5 stars if the car park wasn't so terrible (and expensive)!
C. M.
Easy to get to, clean and friendly. Great selection of food and drink, take plenty of money though. Definitely need to add gin & tonic to the menu. Superb value for money £12.50 for 2 games of cricket...wow
C. G.
Awesome place to stay in the hotel. Top service from the staff and I highly recommend Beefys for the food!
G. Q.
Lovely cricket ground. Food extremely expensive though - take your own!!!
A.
Parking's an issue, especially getting out after a game, because it causes so much congestion in the area - leave yourself around 60+ minutes to get out the car park. Otherwise it's a lovely ground with loads of food stalls.
D. A.
Great venue with food stalls all the way around. Attended CWC19 Bangladesh vs Afghanistan. Only issue here is car parking, the park and ride is very expensive and there is not much parking nearby.
C. W.
1st time they're to watch a 20/20 match great game great atmosphere better then watching football and cheaper definitely going again 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾🏏
V. D.
The Rose Bowl, currently known as The Ageas Bowl for sponsorship reasons, is a cricket ground and residential hotel complex in West End, Hampshire, England, located between the M27 motorway and Telegraph Woods. It is the home of Hampshire County Cricket Club, who have played there since 2001.
R. K.
Excellent hotel, fab views of cricket grounds, peaceful and tranquil, love the patio and fully open balcony. Warm weather so left it open all three nights. Amazing breakfast and kids eat free. Lovely Bar and staff.
T. E.
Great place to watch cricket
J. S.
Great venue, a fun day out. Worth going to for a cricket match or a concert. The golf course looks pretty decent too!!
R. P.
Stunning by far best cricket ground in England
I. B.
The Rose Bowl, Southampton, is home to Hampshire County Cricket Club. Cricket Ground Guide provides you with a review of the ground, its facilities and local amenities.
DIRECTION
By Car:
The Ageas Bowl is just 1.2 miles from the M27, Junction 7. When exiting the motorway simply follow signs for the Ageas Bowl.
By Train:
Hedge End train station is less than 2 miles away, approximately a 35 minute walk from the Ageas Bowl.
If you don’t fancy walking or jumping in a taxi from the station you can catch the First Bus No. 8 (see below). Hedge End station is located on the Portsmouth Solent Line. Southampton Airport Parkway station is approximately 3.5 miles from the Ageas Bowl and services the Waterloo to Weymouth South West Main Line. The Xelabus X4 then services the Ageas Bowl from the train station
S. F.
Was here for a conference, nice venue. Grateful staff that were very helpful
P. C.
It is a good and easily accessible venue (when they don't come off the M27) and Hampshire Hawk's do keep us on the edge of our seats as they continue to work their way to the quarter finals
Y.
Went to the fireworks. The display was lovely but the stands where too busy so you couldn't social distance. If the pitch had been open this would have meant people could spread out more.
J. B. (.
It's one of the modern cricket grounds in England. I think it is an excellent place to watch test cricket because of the great views from anywhere in the ground. Recent Hundred experience was excellent. I would say the major downside is the travel by car options, just set aside time to leave whether you are going by park and ride or park and walk.
K. G.
Splendid stadium and not too far away drive from London. Watched India vs Afghanistan World Cup. Spacious car park. Plenty of options to eat and drink. Carrying booze from outside is prohibited unlike Lords. So do not carry your own. Can only buy inside.
J. T.
Good, but wet when we came for the cricket.
s. j.
The sexiest cricket ground ever seen !
With WiFi ,mobile charging kiosks ,and chilled beer facility!
I. E.
Fantastic fireworks show. Loved it and the timing with the music was on point. The lines for food and rides was long and it was very crowded. Some barrier for the food line would have been better to control everyone.
J. C.
I was a guest but well looked after by staff there
D. “. G. R.
One of the best cricket grounds in the UK. Good selection of food and facilities. The grounds are well maintained and facilities clean.
Car parking can be an issue for events so book well in advance.
J.
I went to the Hampshire Business Show at Ageas - The event seemed to be well organised - a little bit more signage going towards entrance because the info was not on the ticket. Good mix of businesses so I found a few of interest others who were not paying attention should remember why they are there.
D. W.
Went to the hundred. Fantastic day with some great cricket. It's definitely an enjoyable time whether you have experienced cricket before or not. Only 4 star as went for hospitality suite and it let us down.
A. V.
One of the best cricket stadium in England
I visit India vs Afghanistan
Great atmosphere
C. O.
Really easy to find and get parked. Good view of the cricket. Clean amenities. Lots of food stands, all very reasonably priced, considering, these places are always a bit over priced. Trying to leave at the end was a bit of painful, but you are warned about that.
W. B.
Great facilities and beautiful when the sun is out.Bit breezy early season.Staff of the club always polite and helpful. Stewards in the ground and car parking always helpful and courteous.Atmosphere great in the T20/20 and England games.
D. B.
A remarkable ground with superb facilities available and a nursery ground too
N. L.
Nice friendly staff and well looked after modern stadium.
C. H.
Huge hotel a bit outside southampton. lovely place to visit. disappointed there is no pool. nice gym. friendly staff. room was spacious and well appointted will for sure return
A. B.
Great location for exploring the south coast and one of the quirkiest views I’ve ever seen form a hotel bedroom
J. D.
Great venue for cricket and concerts alike. Good choice of catering outlets, bars and toilets that are clean and well kept. Within walking distance of Hedge End station past a few takeaways and a pub should you get peckish on the walk back to the station.
M. S.
Rooms are nice and staff very helpful and friendly, but £3.70 for a 330ml bottle of diet coke?
E. O.
Loverly day. Would have been nice not to have to hunt for an open loo though.
D. A.
Watched group stage match for The Hundred, nice experience, parking available on site but you have to pre-book.
Would have been 5 star if it wouldn't have taken forever to come out of parking after the match.
s. l.
Went for one of the Cricket 100 to watch Southern Brave. Excellent seats and view. Event was real fun. Good choice of food and ok prices. Plan travel though as it was mega busy leaving.
S. M.
World cup venue visited for warm up game . Kids can play on hills behind stands . Lots of food concessions ..probably the best test cricket ground in southern England because it is purpose built for the people and is not elitest like lords and the oval
S. M.
Not a sporty person. Use the carpark when going to the nearby Moorgreen Hospital for training.
M. K.
Easy to get to. Matchday parking works fine. Stadium is good and modern. Club shop is a bit limited. Number of food and drink places open depends on attendance.
b. w.
Absolutely top notch.Staff excellent room excellent. First class experience
Stayed an extra 2 nights and got upgrade for the same price....very impressed.
M. a. J. L.
Fantastic ground with a fantastic atmosphere. We've stayed at the hotel also for our wedding anniversary ☺️
L. H.
Great night I hadn't been to a T20 before really enjoyed it ,will be back, plenty areas for eating and having a refreshment
C. “. A.
Might be nice on a warm summer day. But at the moment there is no grass and is under construction.
m. a.
Staying at the Hilton for one night. Very modern cricket ground with floodlights. Not sure about car parking when a large game is on. Normal facilities that you would expect.
G. D.
Excellent stadium and facilities.
Game spoilt 'by foul mouthed drunken yobs in an area with lots of families. Thank heavens security took notice eventually. It's not a stadium issue as such but security need to be muchmore aware to remove them and not just watch!!
No info on screens re closure of motorway slip roads at Hedge End. Not easy to get away to M3.
I. S.
A great cricket venue but it's a bit cut off from public transport links. For international matches there is a park and ride scheme from Southampton Airport and shuttle buses run from Hedge End Station.
A. M.
Excellent venue multiple bars and loads of room
P. G.
Overall a good experience with the Hilton hotel room being excellent
A. S.
Lovely hotel, great view of the pitch.
J. S.
Went to a cricket event and was impressed with the design of the ground - good viewing in all seats - and the facilities on offer. For those without a car, it's a little remote but there was an efficiently managed shuttle bus.
R. (.
Saw the southern Braves here at end of July, good exciting games. Bowl is a great arena, good views all around. The hundred is new cricket format, quite fast and risky, good to watch.
R. G.
A fantastic cricket ground with an amazing atmosphere. The gallery is small and low allowing to watch the match from close and interact with fielders at the boundary!
H. R.
Poorish signage inside. Road infrastructure support poor. Sound system surprisingly bad. (Close to pavilion if you want to hear; doesn't really create a high octane environment) Expensive but very good quality concessions. Excellent staff throughout. Be aware that the playing field is large... (largest in UK?) so you may want binocs!
However, it is a good day out if you can be patient getting there and back and don't mind spending.
Covid notes: staff in stadium masked; majority of crowd carrying masks and many but not all wearing them in indoor areas, but not much in stands. Good natured atmosphere throughout and saw no negative attitudes towards wearing/not wearing masks. Perhaps a little more social distancing in toilets than before pandemic, but only just.
V. S.
Beautiful stadium.🥰
Parking area was rubbish. Just money making.
Stadium security staff were very arrogant, like they own the ground.👎
K. K.
The stay was comfortable with a family of 4 ( 2 kids) however pls give their restaurant a miss, the soup was substandard, we asked for dairy free ice-cream however were served full fat dairy ice-cream. Luckily none of are allergic to dairy however I can imagine their staff being blaze about things like nut allergy too. All in all great place to stay but I would recommend not eating there .
J. W.
Little mix concert... Good facilities and helpful and friendly staff well organised and good transport facilities
A. F.
Fabulous cricket stadium. Well organised and great facilities.

Extremely friendly staff. Always willing to help . No matter what time of day or night. Staff on the front desk were very welcoming on arrival and pleasant on departure. Waiting staff also extremely helpful and a pleasure to be around . Would recommend highly to anyone . Blows away competition from other hotels/resorts i have stayed in .
B. S.
A favourite Hilton of ours, lovely location but since Covid and Brexit they don't seem to have the staff needed to run this business efficiently. Room service only on request, no refrigerator in room, no executive floor facility and Lakeside Bar closed. Menu in Beefys restaurant poor selection of food and you cannot have salt or pepper grinders at table. Come on Hilton you are better than this.
M. H.
Visited the Hilton but easy to find and well signposted
R. Y.
Fantastic evening at the 20-20 Hants v Essex.
A. S.
Disappointed with the catering at the Royal London match v Essex. Non of the club/ hotel bars were available. IPA for £6
From a concession. No wine. Take your own!
M. A.
An amazing venue in a stunning location.
V. O.
It was a nice stadium, but it was not a big stadium but it was famous. The stadium was famous for cricket matches. The stadium was completely cashless and hence it is contact free and has a very low chance of virus speading and it is secure.
P. S.
Amazing place and well managed. Free shuttle to airport and railway stations
J. G.
Really happy and impressed with our stay. Best feature was that I forgot my toothbrush and used their text messaging system to get it sorted quicktime! Nothing was too much trouble.
Great views of the cricket ground!
R. H.
You can play cricket here if you play for Hampshire/England
S. W.
At Hilton Hotel for a business event. There was plenty of parking, lobby team were efficient and Covid aware. Meeting area clean and well organised.
J. A.
Lovely when the sun comes out
B. T.
Superb venue, easy to get to by public transport. Facilities within good.
A. P.
Incredible venue with a great selection of food stalls. Lots of clean toilets on offer. When the sun shines this is an awesome place to enjoy cricket
C. N.
LOVE THIS PLACE!!
It's a wonderful modern cricket ground, great view from everywhere and plenty of places to stand and watch when you a walk around. Helpful and friendly staff all around. Great facilities in shops, bars and restaurants. It's not Lord's but it's close!
Link service to trains on match day is brilliant with lots of buses laid on to and from the ground meaning quick and easy arrival and departure.
J. R.
Visited for the first time for afternoon tea at The Hilton, Ageas Bowl. The hotel is furnished to a high standard and the public areas look very clean and well maintained. The afternoon tea experience was very well done. The usual cake stand full of delicate savoury and sweet offerings, made and presented to a high standard. Particularly liked the warm scones .. yummy! Earl Grey was nice, other teas or coffee were available, as was Prosecco if desired. Friendly and professional service. All in all a very good way to spend a couple of hours on a rainy afternoon. Finally, a mention for the Ladies room - quite impressive! Definitely worth a visit.
K. E.
This is a huge ground. Awesome place! Getting there can be a bit of a pain, but it's a nice ground!
B. B.
Awesome venue...thoroughly enjoyed. Although SA lost😆
G. H.
First time on cricket game. Stadium was fine but traffic horrible.
D. J.
Good cricket venue £5 beer/cider. Fast food vans. Live band after the match 👍
A. S.
Great ground, great atmosphere. Drinks can be a little pricey, but that's considered the norm at sporting events. Venue has been well kept and grounds are immaculate. The Hilton Hotel attached to the ground is a very good hotel if staying for a match, some rooms overlook the cricket ground with your own private balcony for game days.
K. S.
Great ground and great part of the country. Well maintained with plenty of good food and drink outlets. Staff friendly and very helpful. Recently went there for the cricket world cup. Ground reminded me of the Oval in London. There is a hotel at the ground. Bit of traffic towards the ground so leave early if you've parking at the stadium. Just as easy to park on the outskirts and walk to the stadium.
G. J.
Very good for cricket and other events
M. G.
It was alright, didnt have money though so couldnt really enjoy it as was there because my flight was canceled
D. Y.
A beautiful and picturesque cricket venue. One of my favourite places to watch the game. Good access and amenities make it pretty stress free to attend games, even internationals. Prices can be a little expensive on beer and food, so you might want to take your own food in with you, but you're stuck paying for the on-site alcohol.
S. F. L.
Pros
Modern venue good facilities. Great atmosphere. Easy to get beer and food.
Cons
Food prices were ridiculous (£6.50 for a plain burger) - more expensive than London venues. We also had the Yorkshire pudding wrap which was tasteless and service shoddy.
J. H.
Thank you to everyone who helped organise the Ageas 10k today. You guys were fantastic.
I.
Best wicket in the country, the facilities aren't too bad, but the access is not too good. Bar is expensive, food is now outsourced.😪
C. B.
Upmarket hotel with balconies overlooking the cricket ground. Watched live match. No swimming just a spa which you had to pay extra for. Restaurant for a special occasion. Breakfast very good. Good links to roads. Would stay again
G. M.
Went to Beefy's restaurant for afternoon tea. It was the Xmas afternoon tea. Lovely restaurant with welcoming staff. We had a window table overlooking the cricket stadium. Would be brilliant in the summer watching the cricket. Covid measures in place with hand sanitiser at reception. Food was a disappointment. Strange combination of sandwiches and scones were miniature and rock hard. No follow up service once we were served. Had to get the attention of staff for more drinks. Not a place I would recommend. Have sampled afternoon tea at several other venues.
j. r.
The occasion for which I was there wasn't ideal, but the venue itself is beautiful. The sofas outside were just what was needed for the warm sunny day and the ability to create the "bringing the outside inside" was made very easy when the doors were open. The staff there were welcoming and couldn't do enough for you! Classy, comfortable and would definitley recommend when looking for a space to hire out for a number of different occasions.
D. M.
Had a really enjoyable experience on our recent stay. Everything as you would expect from Hilton Hotels. Thankyou.
A. G.
Great views from everywhere around the ground
A. p.
Great trade show here. Not been before as not into cricket but a cracking venue
A. M.
I didn't visit for the cricket but to attend a conference in the Hilton hotel conference facilities. A nice space, good food and an enjoyable event.
J. O.
Lovely cricket ground, very picturesque, especially when it's sunny! At the England - India test match things were very well organised - they've made improvements to getting in and out of the ground, which while still not the best, wasn't the lengthy ordeal it used to be! Good facilities and a range of food stalls and activities on offer. A thoroughly pleasant place to watch the cricket.
r. b.
Nice ground, beer alcohol expensive.
J. M.
Watched Southern Brace woman's & Men's against Birmingham Phoenix. Southern Brace won both matches. Good exciting games. Good facilities at the grounds.
c.
Amazing ground. Quite pretty really
D. B.
Love the place and always stay at a well known 3 star hotel.
Great change rooms are spotless and was lucky enough to get a room with balcony overlooking the cricket ground.
Can be a little expensive for room service and good idea to take your credit card lol.
Be aware food you pay a £5 charge ontop for a tray for your food
J. C.
Great cricket ground. Good views all around with loads of food and entertainment.
T. B.
Very good quality hotel, restaurant and conference room overlooking the pitch. Also good value
S. S.
First row seats are very near to boundary, will get very close look of players.
J. K.
Fantastic facilities and even more helpful staff
F. W.
Was there for a conference, great venue
S. H.
Excellent ground and views. Only disappointments were lack of parking, so had to use the park and ride, and expensive food stalls inside the ground.
N. G.
Comfortable & clean room. Good desk space for working. Large flat screen TV for entertainment. Excellent buffet type breakfast included. Easy to find, just off M27. All round very good value.
J. S.
Parking can be difficult as not many space.
Beautiful scenery of the golf course. We didn't stay in the hotel just had drinks which was complimentary because the bar lady felt bad she forgotten about us. The seats were very soft and comfy. Beautiful decor. Can't fault it.
J. S.
Such a great day. The hundred is very accessible for everyone & the Ageas Bowl is an easy venue to get to with plenty of facilities.
C. A.
If I said I don't like cricket do I still give it 5 stars? The traffic jam was great though!
J. G.
Went for a family weekend birthday, the hilton Hotel itself was very clean and tidy, rooms were all made up ready for our arrival. Lovely spacious shower and comfy beds. The breakfast was amazing and there was so much to choose from. Overall would definitely reccomend and stay again. Family of 3,mum, dad and 5 year old.
M. W.
Stayed at hilton Hotel, great rooms and food was good at the restaurant. Spa is nice but not included as a guest.
C. W.
Was there in a party of eight for Christmas day lunch. Ham hock starter was lovely. I had salmon for my main. The veg was served on large platters (2 for our table). There seemed to be plenty but once everyone had helped themselves there was nothing left, not even a potato for me so had to ask for some more veg, which they gave us, and extra gravy. I ordered Christmas pudding with spiced custard but there seemed to be some kind of sauce between pud and custard which made it so sickly so asked for another without the sauce and I can honestly say it was really lovely and I would think one of the best Christmas puds I've had for a good few years. Staff seemed a little stressed but to be fair they were very busy as the hotel was full. The only thing I would say against it was that there were no tablecloths. Too many places leave these off now and it would have been nice to have had one on the table, especially as it was a special occasion. This is my fourth Christmas there and will probably go again.
n. C.
Love that ground beautiful.... ll love to go there again...
b. b.
Great view from every seat.
B. T.
Best place to watch some quality cricket. Very good area for family days out. Beautiful and green everywhere. Watched ICC world cup 2019 matches #indvssa and #indvsafg. Absolutely brilliant games in the best weather possible.
M. D. D.
Great business hotel with a fabulous view onto the cricket pitch.
Everything about the hotel works; my only criticism is that it's decor is quite masculine, which in the business world of the 21st century seems a bit of an error.
Despite the decor which is still 'cool', the spa, the quality of the rooms and service mean that it is somewhere I would recommend...
F. K.
Atmosphere was great. Facilities were nice. Staff were great. Only thing I would say is food is very expensive.
I. J.
This is a great venue to watch cricket at. Make sure you go and see the Southern Vipers when they play over the summer, it's only £5 to get in to see them play 20 20 cricket, you even get night time matches! Make sure you bring a picnic along and enjoy the action (there's a great spa there too!).
A. M.
Great facilities but the biggest draw back for me is the sign posting around the venues. Very difficult to navigate where you are going and it is hard to find someone to help direct you during the day. So bit frustrating.
N. M.
Great rooms, and bar and restaurants are good quality. Helpful staff.
A. H.
Amazing place. I covered a groom getting ready here. As I'm a wedding photographer and the view of the pitch is awesome
R. B.
Fantastic venue to watch cricket although a bit on the expensive side!
I. D.
Brilliant stadium, Brilliant 2x100 ball matches won both great atmosphere and weather just a fab day out.
A. J.
Love this cricket ground. Whether for a Hampshire, Southern Vipers or international match the fanatical local crowd always make for a fantastic atmosphere.
S. G.
Relatively new stadium with great facilities. A very attractive ground. The boundaries are longer here than at many county grounds which is probably more interesting in all forms of the game.
Parking can be problematic for internationals so its worth checking on the park and ride options from Eastleigh.
j. c.
Excellent hotel overlooking cricket ground one side and a challenging golf course the other side good food and friendly and helpful staff
J. B.
The family room was lovely, with comfy beds for us and the kids. Having a balcony onto the cricket ground was great. When we arrived the kids bed wasn't made up but this was very quickly sorted and we had no other issues at all. A lovely place to base yourselves when visiting Southampton.
T. F.
This is one of the nicest clubs you will play in the south of England. The course is challenging but not too punishing with immaculate greens and spectacular feature holes. The pro shop is well stocked and the friendly staff ate happy to give you advice and make it a pleasure to play - recommend it!!
C. D.
Been there several times with hubby and plan to make it a girly weekend with spa etc. Over there, Golf, great spa, and cricket pitches and matches of it is your thing but not a requirement) Nice spacious and freshly decorated rooms (but no family rooms). If you have kids I suggest you stay 1 second from the Hilton at the Ibis which have reasonable family small but very decent for the price rooms, and go to the Hilton for the spa (fee apply but reasonable for the quality), golf and glamorous coffee bar and restaurants.
A. S.
Really lovely cricket ground. Genuinely pretty. I'm a little mystified by the bad press this place gets about being inaccessible. We were back in the car park and on the M27 only minutes after end of play on a packed house day at the test match last week. Can't wait to come again.
K. B.
Great venue, easy to get to by bus. Also really nice are the water bottle filling stations. You can bring an empty reusable bottle in and then fill it at one of the stations. There is one by the East gate and I'm sure there others around the venue.
M. D.
Went for a 100 match and the atmosphere was amazing
E. G. (.
Great pace with great facilities although the parking arrangements aren’t the best and you’ll end up being help in the car park for over half an hour.
P. N.
Fantastic situation and a real upgrade from the rose bowl. Parking can be an issue, but the facilities are very good.
Having the Hilton on one side of the ground is a shame as it reduces the amount of seats, but I'm sure it never gets that full anyway 😉
I. M.
What a fantastic place to watch cricket. Atmosphere is incredible. Easy to get to with plenty of parking.
A. S.
As a long standing Hampshire member you may say that I am blinkered but I firmly believe "the bowl" is one of the best grounds in the UK.
The only downside the food & drinks are expensive.
S. M.
Nice place big arrangements
A. M.
Very nice for wedding event
Beautiful decor inside
Plenty of spacious rooms
Recommendable for upto 400 people
J. K.
Had great time (21st July) but need to teach the car park team in the park and walk how to let the cars out better. They had no idea absolutely mental! Took over 35 to 40 minutes to get out. Total chaos!
D. G.
Great place to watch a cricket match especially when it's a World Cup. Lots of food stalls all round. Holiday Inn is next door and Hilton is merged within the Stadium. Great concept.
F. Y.
A great place to watch cricket matches. Getting in and parking was relatively easy, the bus service from the parking lots at the university was quite slow but fast enough to be bearable. A wide variety of food and drinks are available for reasonable prices, there is an entire area dedicated to kids' entertainment: there are bouncy castles, face painting, climbing walls and much more (all included with the ticket). The cricket is great and overall a wonderful day out with a little planning required. My only real disappointment was leaving the stadium, as it took at least half an hour to three quarters of an hour. We got there in the end however and once you go you definitely want to come back.
E. L.
I went there for a job fair and thought it was a really good venue for it. Ample parking, complete with parking ushers. I'm aware it hosts concerts as well as cricket. I will definitely go now for either of those events now that I've seen it.
p. l.
Lovely cricket ground with good facilities for spectators. I knocked off a star because they charge very high prices for food, drink and other merchandise. All seats have a great view of the action and easy access to the facilities. There are ample disabled toilet facilities but the mens restrooms get very busy during breaks in play. Parking can be a problem as the P&R is a good 20 mins bus ride away. Disabled parking is usually available on site but must be booked before at a cost of £10. The security procedures are quick but they do the job. The staff are competent, helpful and friendly.
R. R.
A well maintained cricket stadium but very far from the city. However there'll be plenty of shuttles from stations during match days.
Facilities at the stadium are good however food options are limited compared to other stadiums.
Cricket world cup was a great experience at this stadium.
C. J.
If you go for a match do take plenty of own food & drink as pricey there.
Disabled friendly when booking tickets -visit the box office & discuss your needs.
Arena can be very windy/cold/hot depending upon weather & no. of spectators. Take sun cream & scarf & hat & plenty of layers to keep warm!
Parking pricey but disabled park nr to ground. Public transport here patchy depending upon day & time. Some buses. Nearest station Hedge End 35min walk away -hourly service.
Having said all that it is a nice place to watch cricket.
G. M.
Beautiful stadium,
i hope india won wtc 2021
Jai hind🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳
A. M.
Absolutely amazing stadium. Fantastic travel facilities. Hedge End is the nearest railway station and there are free shuttle buses available to the stadium from there.Hedge End is on the Waterloo to Portsmouth Harbour via Basingstoke line.
A. B.
Iconic cricket ground with excellent views from most seats. Someone needs to sort out local access roads on match days, as I could have walked from the local station in the same time it took the bus.
l. p.
Had fantastic overall experience loved it. Just stayed one night before going on cruise. Staff were so attentive and courteous could not fault them. We would definately stay there again. Great hotel.
S. S.
Watched a cricket world cup match. Good decent size ground. Free commute had been arranged from different place around the city. Enjoyed match on sunny day and more over the team i support won..
J. S.
We usually have a good day out when there is International Cricket. Plenty of choices for food and drink (and activities) around the concourse.
One downside is the difficulty in getting there and back, usually long queues for shuttle buses and when exiting they refuse to leave unless they are full, regardless of how long you (and many others) have been sat waiting to return the the train station.
I think they should revise the policy for earlier buses to be a minimum level of occupancy rather than a near full bus. Not fair on those that have trains scheduled or connections. We were quite relaxed but others on board had concerns about missing there onward journey because the bus "wasn't allowed" to leave.
A. K. S.
A very nice stadium for Cricket lovers.
V. D.
Amazing ground.. Good facilities as well...
m. c.
Played golf here 2 weeks ago , it's a great course but beware you really need a buggie it's a long walk otherwise. Greens a very very good. The American golf shop has closed down but the club shop is now been stocked and run from within
r. s.
Excellent ground and facilities but unfortunately the world test final 1st day washed out.
N. G.
Fantastic place for entertainment of all kinds but especially for the cricket
r. r.
Lovely king size room, massive bed with top quality linen. Nice walk in shower with fab toiletries. View of the golf course. No opening windows & limited range on the AC.
K. G.
Haven't actually been here but watching on my 51 inches TV, felt like I was on the ground lol okbye weird flex but okay
A.
Love the ground and disabled friendly. However the food and drink is really pricey. Will go again but will take my own food and drink. Don't expect to be ripped off! So one customer who won't contribute to the fat cats!!!
J. C.
I liked it. Well designed, e.g. wide thoroughfares between stalls and seating. Gaps around the ground allow you to stop and watch the cricket with good vantage points. Like the free shuttle to rail station.
L. &. T. N.
Great venue for cricket. Just a shame today was so wet! Good food and drink selection when an international match is played there. Hilton bar is good too (keep dry there!)
R. O.
Decent stadium, all seats offer a clear view. Drinks and food quite pricey but standard for sporting event i suppose. Park and ride was also pretty good to be honest.
a. c.
Dinner was better than most for an Xmas party, breakfast was brilliant, all you could ask for and all very tasty. Things like smoothies and a pancake machine were a very welcomed touch. Highly recommended
P. J.
I went to watch England vs Pakistan recently with my friend who is in a wheelchair. The venue is a bit far from station so unless a local would say to go by car or park and ride scheme. However, when we got there the disabled spaces were full so we had to park at the other side of the ground from where we were sitting, AND up a grassy fairly steep bank. I think this is disgraceful to expect disabled spectators to push so far away from their seat - luckily my friend is strong and had no trouble (except up the hill on the way back and I had to help).
HAMPSHIRE : How about only issuing enough disabled parking spaces that you can actually cater for?!!!
Aside from this, the ground is very pretty. Toilet facilites good, lots of fairly expensive food choices, but you have to expect that.
The stewards were useless and might as well have not been there. Lots seemed baffled by the simplest of questions, security checks were minimal and late on a group of teenage stewards near me were standing around talking about their supposed sex lives...in rather crude and some would find, especially women, offensive language.
This venue could be so much better with better staff and organisation. Doubtful I would go again.
A. S.
Good place for an outdoor fete, the place is immaculately maintained and even in the height of a heatwave summer the grass was luscious and green. There's a swanky hotel onsite overlooking the events and getting in and out was easy and the local setting is picturesque too.
N. M.
Gets better with every visit. Slick free bus scheme to the ground. No bad view anywhere. Excellent choice of different food. Coffee place was worse thing visited. Ale acceptable. Wish I could go more often.
B. K.
Great day at World Cup WI v Eng. Would have been better if more runs scored but convincing win anyway. Facilities excellent except for long delays at beer stall. Franchise needs to improve service. Park and ride service good obviously numbers created delays but acceptable. Stewards pleasant and helpful.
Barry Knight Hertfordshire.😎
D. D.
Good venue for watching cricket. Facilities great. Views from all seats excellent, but remember hat and sunscreen as it can be very exposed.
S. H.
Nice venue with great setting. Thought of everything in looking after fans. Only thing would say is during the world cup the park and ride was ridiculous bumped up in price to stupid levels. Means people just park ten mins walk out. Defeats point of having a p&r. Counter productive for being greedy
M. B.
Top quality cricket venue.
T. P.
Lovely afternoon tea, very friendly welcoming staff.
A. E.
Very good views of the playing area. Friendly stewarding. Also great free WiFi once signed in around the ground. Easy access to the ground by car off the M27 with good car park a short walk away albeit it cost £10
K. F.
Found it very cold. We checked in at night to a cold room. So didnt get a good nights sleep.Heating didnt come on until 10amthe following day.
The shower tray was damaged.
However staff were very accomodaing
B. S.
Great stadium viewed from Holiday inn express next to it..
D. M.
Amazing way to spend a day watching cricket. A beautiful place, easy to reach by car from the motorway M27. Plenty of parking space. Akso easy to reach by train and coach.
K. L.
Great open space for a firework display, failed to consider the smoke though which left a few minutes of fireworks invisible to us. They were also set off so close to the crowd that the children and I all had ash and bits of rockets all over us.
K. L.
A decent modern facility. Obviously, it is going to cash in on the captive audience (an ODI match on this case) which always grates a bit. On the positive side though, it appears that there is no restriction on bringing your food in.
The ground has expanded a bit since my last visit and the changes have been for the better. I hope the open standing areas around the catering are left open for the future.
J. B.
Good views of the playing area, from wherever you sit. Food and drink can be a little pricey on international game days.
H. 2.
Top notch ground and SOME food stalls at t20 only all food expensive and bottle of coke £2.50 and a mediocre milkshake £4!!! good venue ruined by prices. Oh, in County Championship games ONLY as it's less packed I would recommend to eat in the Arlott Autrium as they do WONDERFUL FOOD if a little pricey.
M. C.
Room very comfortable and good size. Lovely views over the golf course. The hotel restaurant had good ambiance staff attentive and food extremely good. Will return.
P. W.
Lovely venue and the great staff really made me feel welcome plus very helpful.
Highly recommend
D. A.
Super friendly staff pleasure to go there
F. S.
Best cricket ground I have been too! Cracking atmosphere for the 100!
J. H.
Went here for a meeting in the Ageas Suite. Easy to get to, staff friendly and although I don't like cricket, it was nice to see the ground and how big it is. Nice view from the suite too.
A. H.
Big place to get lost in. Workers cleaning continually and ensuring the grounds are maintained. Great place to watch the game especially when the sun is shining. No8 bus takes you to the stadium and back into Southampton.
P. D.
Been to several domestic and international games here.
All bar one have been faultless experiences.
However the security checks for the South Africa ODI in 2017 were too slow however subsequent trips to the same gate for similar events have been problem free.
Also a special mention to the match day parking in the field over the road.
Most places like this take your money and help you park but are nowhere to be seen when you want to leave and you spend ages in a chaotic traffic jam.
Not so here, the staff are on hand to help everyone get out in a timely manner.
If you get the opportunity to enjoy corporate hospitality, take it: The view from the top of the pavilion is spectacular
D. T.
Food could have been hotter. Staff lovely and so helpful. We went to a function sat night. Everything a little disorganised. The beef was dry with no sauce left. Other than that a fab evening.
m. c.
Good hotel with a stunning view. The hotel has everything you could need. Would definitely recommend staying here if you are looking for a hotel in the area. Plus what looking like a good golf course on site with a American golf so you can hire everything.
V. P.
Good hotel with decent sized rooms.
As an unexpected bonus I discovered that Sky One and some Sky Sports channels are available on your 42” TV!
The reason for losing one star was that I was next to some kind of staff or storage room and its door would open and close quite often which I could hear when trying to sleep. It’s only a minor issue but it’s an issue nonetheless.
D. J.
Beautiful ground with a great atmosphere, and you can have a beer while you watch the cricket. Wide range of food available from internal and external caterers ... quite pricey though.
M. E.
The cricket was excellent and the staff friendly but just too noisy - couldn't volume be 90% of those levels still be loud enough for people to hear? - in fact easier to hear as less distortion. Too intrusive also - "come on every body - aren't we all having f-u-u-u-n?!!" idea. Liked the love guitarist btw - a nice idea.
A. M.
The ground itself is great and I enjoyed the cricket. But be warned the food is an absolute rip off! Ten quid for a ropey burger, Nine quid for an undercooked hotdog! What with it being a fiver for a pint it gets a bit expensive! I'll take my own next time.
p. k.
Visited during a test match between england and india.
Great place, great atmosphere.. Clear view from any angle. Be cautious when you book your seat.. You don't want to be stuck in the sun for all day..as some stands don't have roof/covering.
There are also a lot of food stands and beer counters to choose from. Over all a good place to enjoy cricket during any season.
T. P.
Invited to the Ageas bowl had a great time very pleasant, & very friendly.
F. B.
Wonderful fireworks only spoilt by the music being far too loud , some children had ear defenders! VERY pricey drinks and the churns we're dry and unbeatable for £5 for a small box. Have to mention trying to leave the car park, which took an hour!!
J. C.
Great cricket ground, nice design and easy to get to
G. O.
Played 18 hole golf here and I would recommended this for only pro golfers. As it's quick paced with lots of obstacles on fairway. You need would need more balls though incase you hit the ponds
K. P.
Excellent experience from being directed to stadium to the in stadium experience. Whilst a vast improvement in terms of parking, it could be slightly better given that it could have been very wet surfaces to walk from parking to stadium
P. B.
Good service at the hotel, which is always nice. Vegan burger wasn't very good which was a big let down. Was more like cow pat. Room comfortable.
E. W.
Stayed to watch the 20-20 cricket, rooms were excellent and the view great, upgraded to a suite which were some of the best views of the grounds - would only have been improved by our team winning
P. S.
Great stadium, excellent atmosphere for people of all ages and a lovely spot for some cricket! Bit of a pricey day out but can be a very fun day! Getting to the stadium can be a nightmare.
A. H.
Mainly went as a group to explore how the ageas bowl runs and works. Quite interesting place, with high quality stands and function rooms. Only problem is parking, which is catered by park and rides - hope you enjoy waits!
P. T.
One of the best, if not the best, cricket grounds in the UK. No matter where you sit you have perfect unobstructed viewing. The field itself always looks lush and green, excellently maintained by the groundsmen.
D. B.
Spent a day here in one of the conference suites.
Great location for business as the ground has plentiful parking.
Hospitality and food was good.
Now I just need to come and watch match...
A. B.
A great modern cricket ground, home to Hampshire CC, plenty of facilities on match days and non-match days including conference, hotel, restaurants, golf course. Parking is available close by for all visitors to the ground and hotel/golf. Nearest train station is Hedge End and there is a local bus service that stops next to the ground.
T. R.
Went to watch CWC19. Liked hassle free parking! Bought parking for £20 from online and saw people were parking for free on the day. Website should be more clearer about parking facilities and pricing.
L. E.
Great stadium. Far from City and a very peaceful atmosphere
D. A. H.
Easy to get in and out of the ageas. Two great games both very entertaining recommend the hundred format.
A. C.
Staff go that extra mile no matter wot the request maybe! Even if its a request for iphone charger at 2am or ice bucket and bottle of wine at 3am delivered to the room. Highly Recommend a stay in king executive with pitch view and balcony wont be disappointed 👌.
M. M.
Visited for ICC Cricket World Cup match. Great venue, stewards and volunteers were absolutely amazing. Be sure to pre book parking.
F. A.
Fantastic 100 cricket, good organisational facilities. Great food outlets avaliable.
M. B.
A sizeable venue. Been here for different events. Cricket, fayres and private hire functions. Easy to get to and a choice of bars. Food is very good too.

Lush Eforea Spa, have been a couple of times now and will definitely go again! In two minds as to whether or not to recommend it as i don't want more people going to overcrowd it!! But they do deserve the review, it's got a little of everything and can spend an entire day here just relaxing.

Cricket ground is excellent, however Hilton hotel was average and in need of better management of cleaning staff. Golf course will be nice in a few years time, if alittle resort style layout.
S. N.
The ground itself is always very good though the parking always let's it down. We attended a 20twenty match and parked in the field opposite which is £10. Getting out of this car park took 30 minutes and based on the volume of cars they are making a serious profit. I don't understand why they don't create 2 exits as it would relieve alot of the queuing time and the air pollution caused by having hundreds upon hundreds of cars sitting with their engines constantly running for 30 minutes is awful in today's world. Luckily my car has start stop but I saw stewards wearing face masks as if we were in China which says it all.

It is a wonderful building to visit and the games that are held there are awesome. I can't get the words out because it is so awesome.
J. P.
Went for a function great facilities
J. R.
Sport is really not my thing and even less so for my wife. However, we were give tickets to see Hampshire play T20 cricket so gave it a go. It is truly a fantastic evening out with lots going on, excitement and crowd participation. We will certainly give it another go and next time we may even care who wins.
S. W.
Excellent cricket ground - all seating has plenty of leg room. Unobstructed viewing.
Bars & refreshmen5 / fast food outlets!
P. C.
It looks very posh, , big and clean. Although I just went to the area to have a look, I never went to a match
K. G.

S. R. B.
Great experience here while watching cricket match.

Only visited COVID testing site located in the car park. Not really a place you want to be but friendly and professional staff were there to help and make the experience bearable. Tanks

We went to a wake here, unfortunately a relative had passed away, the grounds looked fab especially as it was a sunny day, we had a buffet of afternoon tea which the deceased always wanted. It's a place once you have seen you will always remember
P. D.
One of the most beautiful and amazing ground in England.
Parking is also very much nearby.
I. H.
First time at a cricket match and had a fantastic day.
B. B.
Good place to watch cricket. Excellent options available for food. Also during cricket world cup match bus service is provided from hedge end station and return too.
T. P.
Great cricket venue. The roads though don't cope with the traffic. Allow plenty of time to get there if you are driving.
S. s.
Lovely place and super clean. Had a great time with my family.
E. B.
I love this hotel the staff are very friendly and always happy to help when a problem arises I am looking forward to staying there again this year when I go on my next cruise. Well done to all the staff
B. S.
Great stadium pity about the parking departure.... Guess you have heard that before though🤣😬
J. B.
A purpose built ground. Easy to get around, great atmosphere.
M. W.
All very well organised but could really do with more fresh water points.
S. G.
Went for a Spa day (treated by the wife for my birthday) and we had a lovely day. Relaxed in and by the spa pool, had lovely afternoon tea and then a couples massage. Just a fabulous relaxing day in a lovely environment

Brilliant venue, Shane about the way parking is organised
B. H.
Stayed at the Hilton Hotel on several occasions great place to stay as a pre park & cruise package.
A. S.
Wonder full experience watching India play in World Cup twice.
R. G.
Very well designed ground for spectators. Interesting location, a little hard to get to but its location gives it the feel of a country cricket ground on steroids
A. E.
A great venue for a conference. Always have good service.
P. A.
Simply an amazing ground - Not too big, but the experience was great - More so because India kicked off their WC campaign with a convincing win..
s. v.
The most beautiful discovery true friends make is that they can grow separately without growing apart
A. Q.
Had an enjoyable day here watching England v India test match. Easy to get to, Parking access nearby, plenty of food vendors (tad expensive) and decent seating arrangements. Thanks
S. S. N.
Cricket ground, and a few hotels there.
J. C.
Excellent venue for cricket, food and drink prices a bit steep! Very good atmosphere. Crowd control very good. Smooth exit.
M. S.
We stayed at the Hilton which overlooks the cricket ground. Great location, clean and tidy room. The food and service were a letdown, hence the 4 stars instead of 5!
O. S.
Great venue and easy access too. Great food variety and quick to get served. I would go again!
d. w.
Really nice ground with great facilities
A. L.
Nice service. Big rooms. Perfect Blackout curtains for a nap during the day.
Breakfast was very nice as well. Overall a perfect stay
G. C.
Dam good show by the staff, we broke down outside and they put us up for the night, food drinks, no expense spared 👍
A. C.
Lovely cricket ground. Great results for Southern Braves women and men
N. D.
Unfortunately it's mostly closed but does look a fantastic arena
E. W.
A great move for Hampshire back in the day. One of the great modern sporting amphitheatres.
J. D.
Went for the world cup, thoroughly enjoyed it, event was well managed as was transport to and from train station. World cup memorabilia obviously over priced but I expected nothing less!
K. G.
I had an executive sweet over looking the ground brilliant view sham there weren't anything going on the rooms were fabulous planty of space very attractively decoration and very clean
G. H.
Great stadium shame Hedge End railway is served by the absolutely appalling SW trains Lost 45 mins on journey down and then on return the 1 an hour service was cancelled Terrible way to showcase our country to the West Indian & South African fans who'd had to contend with a typical English summer's day Hants CC & WCC should be ashamed
J. D.
Attractively situated venue. Reasonably good facilities. Park and Ride works well going to the ground. Can be lengthy waits for buses for the return journey.
P. A.
We visited today for the world cup warm-up match between Aus n Eng. The stadium really looks great and all set for the world cup.
S. W.
Splendid home venue for Hampshire side, watched the semi final game on Monday versus Yorkshire. Well done Hampshire and that's from a Yorkshire girl. A well deserved win, captain's a hero! final at Lords!
M. G.
Beautiful venue. Parking and leaving site at end of games a nightmare.
s. k.
Great fireworks but the buggy access lacked when have a family. Plenty disable space unused could have accomodated families with prams.
D. A.
Great facility, lots of food and shopping outlets. Our seats were great any you could see all of the match.
T. M. C.
Nice stadium with the Hilton hotel attached to it. There's a golf course next to it. Lots of retail parks in the area. Not easily accessible by public transportation outside of matches.
P. S.
Great ground, well organised transport links and friendly staff. This year they have switched up on the food vendors and there is a multitude of good choices beyond burger and chips.

The Rose Bowl, Hampshire's fourth home and its most state-of-the-art, was designed by award-winning architects Michael Hopkins & Partners and hosted its inaugural first-team match in 2001. The ground, shaped like a circular amphitheatre, and its highlight - the three-storey pavilion with canopied roof - is a splendid feat of architecture, but its location - just off the M27 on the outskirts of Southampton - proved problematic for spectators in the early days. One of the venues for the Champions Trophy in 2004, The Rose Bowl received widespread criticism when access to the ground for England's key fixture against Sri Lanka proved extremely difficult, as 16,000 spectators descended. Nevertheless, Hampshire's ambitions continue unchecked: the ground hosted England's first Twenty20 international against Australia in 2005; floodlights were installed in 2006, and after hosting some memorable day/night fixtures against Australia and Pakistan in 2010, the ground became England's tenth Test venue the following year, when Sri Lanka visited in mid-June.
The ground's development - costing a whopping £24million - ran into financial difficulties in 2000, before a Hampshire businessman and cricket enthusiast Rob Bransgrove stepped in to secure its future. In 2006 the venue lost out to Cardiff in the race for Test status, but Bransgrove reacted by investing another £35 million, largely aimed at improving the pitch and the dreadful traffic problems which had blighted major matches. The planned development of a state-of-the-art hotel at the northern end of the ground will further boost The Rose Bowl's ambitions as it seeks to cement its place in the international calendar, and safeguard Hampshire's future.

Prices for beer and food have risen. £5 a pint and £5 for a small hot dog. Rather expensive day. Would recommend to eat before
A. S.
Awesome venue. The atmosphere is terrific. Food and drink are a bit pricey but good quality and the entertainment is great.
D. S.
ICC World Cup 2019 Windies vs Sth. Africa. Unfortunately the weather was unkind and play was eventually rained off after 7 overs of exciting batting, bowling and fielding. Venue is superb and as I'm fairly local I was home in 25 mins. Venue is highly recommended.
L. P.
My GPS took me to the Hilton Hotel which overlooks the Bowl instead of the other side. Hotel staff friendly and helpful but you need a car park exit code from Reception (understandable).
J. P.
Been to it for a couple of India games and the stadium wasn't even full but had a great atmosphere anyway rlly good view of what's going on the field as well rlly good pitch
F. T.
Great place to visit and the hotel is absolutely lovely.
N. W.
Top quality cricket venue. We got Executive Membership this year and the view from the Robin Smith Suite is great.
j. m.
Very nice stadium.
A. K.
Great stadium for watching cricket or even enjoying a pop convert. Good and drink reasonable. Travel and car parking not so good though.
O. S.
Great night shame about the result.
J. B.
It's a cricket ground. It has the facilities you would expect of a cricket ground. Unfortunately the staff are snobby, the security seem to think they are glorified Police officers, no sorry guys you work in hospitality you are essentially payed slaves to those better off than you.
J. L.
Lovely ground with quite diverse food stalls and clean facilities.
l. b.
As I am a member here I play golf it's anew golf course only a year old but it's quite a test but enjoyable run by the Hilton hotel group there is a American golf shop and a great club house which looks out onto the cricket ground
D. C.
A great concert venue as well as a cricket ground steeped in history. Modern facilities, corporate events and Christmas parties are all available.
J. H.
Great venue, great day out for the cricket. Bit pricey on the food and drink but it's event day pricing
w. m.
Its ok if you dont want to drive i had to pay ten pound for three hours parking and also it would be good to take your own food and drink as the concessions in there are expensive
M. R.
Brilliant stadium
But few times wheather don't support sport
h.
So fun when there is events there is usually tatoo fest champaimge fest e.t.c cricket fireworks e.t.c must come the vibes is amazing rollercoasters and other the toilets are huge never full to doors to get in one toilet massive field a hilton hitel iver looking it all must stay there and book for balconey view in events
C. G.
Lovely ground with good facilities. Parking should be better though. £10 to park in a field of long grass that took 40 mins to get out of is pretty poor really.
G. E.
Fabulous ground, great day, very friendly staff & Lancashire won 😁😁😁
M. W.
Tidy sports grounds with ample parking and bus stops near - with services running locally to and from the bowl. Most seats are not covered, prepare for any unfortunate weather.
B. R.
Excellent venue. Very well organised. Superb match in the World Cup. Highly recommended.
p. p.
Stayed at the Hilton just before my cruise. Restaurant was great and the venue had an awesome view of the cricket ground. Excellent!!!

M. D.
Good access, clear views of the ground, clean and friendly.
M. T.
Went for the fireworks that were really good and great that there was plenty of seating avalible. Thought the music synchronisation with the fireworks was done well.
S. W.
Great place good staff. Car park needs pot holes filling
s. s.
stayed at the Hilton for a Christmas party, great hotel and facilities, but having to walk round the whole pitch to get to the party was a pain, particularly on the way back after the party and a bit drunk, food at the party was ok, but not great
G. B.
Many thanks for allowing all the recovery trucks to park here today
B. W.
Great venue to watch cricket, lots of parking available close to ground. Plenty of food choice though pricey, limited beer choice.
