Very impressive venue. From very helpful reception staff to the on course greens staff. Meals were excellent, our group had 3 course menu with a good variety of choice. The room I had was in very good order and comfortable. Plenty of tea making facilities. The golf course was in a reasonable condition considering the time of year and the work being carried out to improve the bunkers. Highly recommended and I will be returning later in the year, all being well.

Overall not bad, the rooms and corridors could do with a lick of paint to spruce them up as they are starting to look dated, the spa is also looking tired. But now onto the positives, The Hotel outside is nice and scenery is breathtaking, the staff were very friendly and the food delicious.

Really good course with really good greens. It is a pretty easy course as long as you don't go in a bunker....they're truly woeful. Can only assume they bare using the bunkers to store sand for local builders in the bunkers as there is way too much in there and the smallest amount of rain turns them to clay. Really ruins what is a nice course with good greens.

2 night stay booked in case an abroad holiday fell through. Hotel is very nice. A good friendly but efficient welcome at reception. We found our room but it was quite difficult. Room 435. Perfect view over the bar terrace and the golf course. Rooms were well equipped. We chose a deluxe king and had a really nice nespresso machine and bottled water. Bathroom had nice elemis toiletries. However. The room wasn't incredibly clean. The sink had residue of someones tooth paste in and some of the room was very dusty and the carpet needed a good hoover in the corners and by the lamp. The bulbs were dusty and the side of the air conditioning unit. I did tell them on reception and they offered to sort it straight away. I said we would manage but could it be sorted when the room was serviced the next day. The floor had been hoovered a bit better and the sink was sorted so that's the main thing. The air con unit was brilliant. A very welcome addition. Breakfast was ok. The traditional hot breakfast was nice except the bacon. It was advertised as crispy surely bacon. It was undercooked and slimy and smoked which it didn't mention. I chose not to have more the second day. There was a good selection of food to eat and everything else was excellent. I would stay here again. The location was good we used the bus on the main road to explore.

LOVE this spa! Louise is the best masseuse I have come across in years. All staff are knowledgeable and very helpful. The pool/facilities are always clean and tidy. Great food, great service. Definitely worth being a member, wether you golf, train, swim or just want to chill out this place has it.

Enjoyed few days booked into their Feature room, with good views and generously spacious. Breakfast very good, also enjoyed their evening menu. However, the Afternoon Tea very disappointing; poor selection of cakes that had suspicions bought from cash and carry and taken from freezer, we didn't eat the scones. Eotho scheme so £10 off but quality doesn't reflect the menu price. Pool facility managed very well under Covid restrictions, we booked daily time slots and found pool area has soothing spa feel. Staff very friendly and helpful, thank you.

The best spa we've visited (Sep 2018). A corporate style hotel set within a golf course with a great spa and a decent sized gym on site. Add to this a fantastic restaurant with superb good quality food and this is a fab location for a spa break. For £105 pp (based on two sharing, £155 single supplement charge), you get one nights hotel accommodation, full access to the spa and gym, a lunch on arrival, £28 contribution towards dinner, and a buffet breakfast plus a 50 minute treatment in the spa. The rooms are a good size, nicely decorated and very comparable with other corporate hotels. The spa includes a lovely blue lit pool, sauna and steam room and a power shower. There are plenty of loungers around the pool which is set to a comfortable temperature. The gym is a good size and on my visit only had one person using it. A series of resistance weight machines along with cardio machines and dumbbells are available. The lunch on arrival was a nice size and came with a little dessert afterwards. The restaurant has a nice relaxed atmosphere and good service to go with delicious food. I have a steak and it was one of the best I've eaten. Drinks are expensive, but nothing out of the ordinary for this type of venue. I was a little disappointed by the breakfast - the bacon was rubbery and the scrambled eggs tasted off. But there was a good buffet selection. I'm taking it that this was just a bad day for breakfast. In summary - a bargain price, getting so much for your money, and definitely a place we will visit again (this month in fact).

First time doing a solo spa break and as someone who suffers with extreme anxiety I was extremely nervous as I had never actually been there before. I was made to feel at ease from my first encounter with there friendly receptionist, all staff I encountered were extremely pleasant. My massage and facial were amazing as was my room. I honestly can not say anything bad about the place it was a lovely break and I will definitely be back.

Lovely facility, shame the weather spoilt our time on the golf course. The Spa was great though, sauna, steam room, heated loungers, swimming pool plus all the usual gym equipment. We'll be back next year in hopefully better conditions to use our complimentary rounds that we were given following today's cancellation. I visited to have a meal at the restaurant with my parents, who were staying here, so this is solely a reflection on the eating establishment. My father is recently wheelchair bound, so it was great to see the waiting staff take care to treat him well but without attempting to demean him. The staff were attentive and food was well presented and tasty. Nothing about this place blew me away, but everything I encountered was good and I definitely commend the waiting staff. Superb course very tricky only the state of the bunkers (many stones) and the fact they have a starters box but no starter which in turn caused slow play on all 3 days we played, as most people decided when it was safe to tee off instead of waiting 8 minutes, one group did wait 8 minutes after I had a gentle word with them regarding tee off times. The food is sublime and the waiting staff are second to none, all in all a very pleasant 3 days away just amend the bunkers and employ a starter and this will be one of the best courses in the area.

Been about 4 or 5 times now, ideally set up for golf and spa days even weddings, course is gud and the greens were lovely, but treacherous. There were 21 of us from Chester + to be fair at the bar they gave us 20% off our drinks for being there for Friday to Sunday so saved us a bit in the long run, so thank you for looking after us 👍

Good hotel, our short visit was marred only slightly by spa pool that needs a changing room refresh/remodel to bring it on par with some other qhotel facilities we've used. One young man at the spa reception in the afternoon seemed to think it was above him, aside from that a good stay and great that we could bring a dog. The hotel catered well to Coeliac sufferers but beware cross contamination of allergens at the breakfast buffet.

What a treasure to discover. First, the room, very spacious, lovely shower and comfortable bed. Very pleasant staying in the atmosphere of the golf course :) ideal location. Only one point of eating in the hotel, could have one more choice on the evening meal menu, however not an issue. The food was delicious and could not complain about the service what so ever. Delighted with the location as it is a stones throw from all the museum's. Would highly recommend this hotel and especially the facilities. I woke up early for a swim in the mood lit swimming pool. Sauna and lovely spa facilities. I really felt that the whole package was reasonably priced. Nice breakfast, continental and full fried breakfast how delicious. Would have stayed a week happily. Very nice. Very happy.

Played on 25/4/21, not Played here for a couple of years so was looking forward to it, fairways was good but tee boxes looked like not being move regularly and the greens needed to be rolled as they was a bit bobble. This was not the course i remember. but still a nice course to play and will still play here again

Course is understandably in need of some attention, particularly the bunkers and greens which had been spiked. £18 fee to play was therefore a little expensive. £12 to £15 more in keeping with the current state of the course. Still enjoyable though.

The rooms here are a good size and very comfortable. The layout is not very logical so it can be difficult to find your room, especially given the unusual numbering. I don't often use hotel gym facilities but I did here and found it to be very good. What let the place down a little was the bar and restaurant. Service was slow and chaotic, and the food was not as good as I'd hoped. It didn't put me off staying here again but I'd definitely go out for dinner.

This was my first time visiting here as my wife had purchased a spa day for our first wedding anniversary. The atmosphere here was fab and the staff made us feel very welcoming. The treatments that we received were spot on and the two girls that carried these out were fab. The hour wasn't long enough I wished it could have lasted longer!!! The only downside I felt, was having the coffee and pastries in the bar where the golfers were watching the football. We will definitely be back again at some point!!

Hotel is OK. Quite large. Lots of simple things not available considering it's supposed to 4 star. Shower cap or flannel/face cloth. No hair conditioner. Very bog standard shower gel and shampoo. No toothpicks in restaurant. Just little things that actually count when you need them. The 4 star rating does reflect when they price the drinks and food. Expensive. Food well presented but had better. I had duck for main course and it was tough. The pool is okay. Although not very big enough room to have a little swim and relax.

Beautiful setting in the west midlands of the UK. I stayed here for one night for work. It was comfortable and had enough room for me. The included breakfast was filling with plenty of eggs, bacon and sausage along with coffee, tea, fruit juices and pastries. It is a little older but still a nice place.

Visited the spa for a spa day via a well known voucher site. Overall, the visit was okay, let down mainly by the staff member in the bar where we received our food and drink. All other staff were great and the facilities are 'OK', lacking a few things we think make a spa (jacuzzi to start with!). Unfortunately won't be going back as we believe there are better out there. Great golf course but hotel not the best, lacking attention to detail. Found several wonky, loose and chipped furniture and fixings that wouldn't take much to fix, too many just to be conicidence. Golf course was a fair test, tree lined fairways punishing poor shots and greens that were the truest, fastest I have ever played on, not bad for September. Driving range available to warm up on with buckets of balls costing £3 & £5 for 40 balls & 80 balls respectively. Check in was very efficient but didn't use spa.

Never been even though I am local always been out of town it was really nice,swimming pool was shut down we think that could of been power cut nite before. It's just one of those things, came back on about 1hr before closing so made the most of it. We had complementary return day vouchers because of pool was out of action. Nice day had by all.

Excellent facilities with great rooms. Gokf course in fantastic condition the only downside the the greens where factory quick. Some must of been over 15 on the stipmetre.

Gym has a few issues, spar is comfortable. Free weight area needs a matted floor, and more plate weights, no squat rack or free bench. Machines are strangly missing a leg press machine, and the ceiling isn't high enough to do body weight such as pull ups, no consideration for dips. Reasonable dumbbell rack. Limited facility for popular compound exercises, gym is fine for steady state cardio and has spin classes. I am sure given the surroundings it's an excellent golf club and hotel.

Typical resort golf...stack em up pile em high, need a starter amd marshal.Course was looking tired, greens weren't at there best but it's still early in the season! Interesting enough course.
