Lovely course in great condition, despite all the dry weather we've been having. Very open so quite forgiving! Enjoyed it.

Really enjoyed my round at Galtres, don't let the 122 slope fool you, there are some very tight fairways and easily reachable OB around the course. Holes are not especially long, however; dog legs, hazards and other course features make it a fair challenge

I haven’t been playing very long. But from the courses I have played, this one is great. The pro shop is well stocked and pro whom I briefly spoke to was helpful. The course is in great condition it’s challenging and its fun. If its your first time, it is also well sign posted on your way around.

Well maintained course peaceful surroundings. Most holes are very forgiving and have wide open fairways although if you do go in the rough there's not much chance of finding your ball let alone playing it out as it's very dense. Great course for 'improving' players. Came across a couple of places where there was debris lying around from grounds maintenance but nothing of note to spoil the round. Will definitely be going back. Great value for £25 .

Great Course PGA Professional Nick Marchant is very friendly and gives lessons on the Range and Practice area Clubhouse is run by Rhoda Clarke - great food at very very reasonable costs and good selection of drinks. Good Value for money and well worth a visit

Been a long time since I played there, but it was lovely yesterday. My only niggle as a Greenkeeper they didn't except BIGGA card unlike all the other courses around York.

It's good value for the money . £20 a round for a visitor. Hollow tined greens, today which cannot be helped for future maintenance. Trees have grown a lot since I last played here and gave it more of a mature feel. Still not keen on the 10th. Edit. 1. With hindsight the original 3 star might have been harsh ( working on greens and a couple of bunkers GUR) . On the basis of maintenance work 3.5 rounded up to 4.. 2. Some interesting holes, the 6th is a beaut in particular. 3. In response to FoG comments. Appreciate Simon's original design concept for the10th . But the course was laid out well over 20 yrs ago. Used to drive over the corner. Not an option now.The oaks are obviously a mature feature but now require some Crown reduction to aid playability. Middle of the fairway , completely blocked, worked a low draw around the tree and got a great par .

Just played today, what a vast improvement from the last time I played the course. Absolutely one of the best courses around York good fairways and very good greens, and a very friendly club house, members army bad either. Well worth a visit.

Both myself and my wife visited your club yesterday 1/6/18, we thoroughly enjoyed it and we will certainly be making frequent visits, it's a lovely condition course, recommended to anyone who wants to play a good course, the only downside from my point of view is the price of the buggy at 25 pounds. For a golf course round York for an occasional golfer lie myself, this place hit the spot, it was more interesting and challenging than a lot of the really flat straight courses, the greens were good and the trees made position on the fairways important. The staff were friendly and I even benefited from a free cake and glass of prosecco half way round from the ladies captain. Result!
