By far the best decision I will have made in 2022 is to join Mercury Fitness, and I'm confident enough to say that in only May!
I suffer with an underactive thyroid and lost my motivation during Covid lockdown to try break the cycle of a slow metabolim and perpetual weight gain and huge loss in self confidence.
I thought the best thing to do would be to join a fitness class that would stop me from just wandering aimlessly at the gym, which is so easy to do. I found Mercury on Facebook and had to send Jason a message to find out more.
Mercury has turned out to so much more than just a class, its a team that goes above and beyond to be supportive to each and every member. Its a fun, social way to get healthy! Looking forward to workout classes? who would have thought it!
Classes are fun! and expertly lead by a fantastic team of instructors who are friendly, encouraging and genuinely rooting for you to do your best!
Having completed the 6 week challenge I couldn't just walk away having lost more weight than I had managed in the 5 years post thyroid diagnosis!
I couldn't recommend Mercury Fitness enough! I can promise you it's so worth investing your time into yourself via Mercury!! If youre reading this, Go for it!

So, about 5 months off work with Covid, led to an almost 3 stone weight gain, it had been coming off slowly once I returned to work. What I hadn't really realized was how much my fitness and strength had waned, until I helped a guy push his wife's car about 7 weeks ago. It took me about 5 minutes to recover 😂. Then the opportunity with Mercury Fitness landed on my Facebook that night and I thought, why not? First night at Ward Park was extremely tough and I wondered what had I gotten into, but with super instructors and a great bunch of people, it made me determined to hit the 6 weeks as hard as I could. The classes, all outdoors, were great but hard work, and it wasn't long before I started feeling fitter and stronger. The meal plan was easy to follow and never felt hungry. I'm so glad I challenged myself over the 6 weeks to keep pushing harder and thanks to the support of the trainers and my group, I'm now down 24lb, dropped 5.1% body fat and 4 points down on visceral fat. Genuinely life changing experience! Having just completed the 6 week challenge I feel like a new man altogether. Amazing instructors who can't do enough to help you at any stage. Previously I have had major surgery which had left me with some mobility problems and also knocked me further out of shape and confidence; the trainers all helped me massively by tailoring exercises and classes to make sure I wasnt doing anything potentially damaging while at the same time being able to push myself and by the end of the 6 weeks I saw huge changes in my fitness levels, my strength, my weight and very importantly in my confidence. I approached this bootcamp with a level of anxiety around how I would be able to keep up with others and if I would even be able to finish it... I finished it knowing that between the change in my approach to diet because of the trainers, my approach to exercise because of the trainers and my new found self belief because of the trainers - the limits I had in my head before have been utterly shattered! I can't recommend this program enough - even if you feel like you have lower levels of fitness or you have a knock or physical issue, these guys will make a new you! I completed my 6 week MFNI transformation on Sunday 13 Feb. I started on 3 January 22 very overweight and unfit. The classes were hard, the 1st class I didn't feel fit enough to complete the warmup but I kept going and by the 4th week I was surprised by how well my body was responding to the fitness routine.
To give you an idea about where I was, I joined a gym in August 2021 knowing I needed to change my lifestyle, paid all the fees but it wasn't until I started the Mercury 6 week challenge in Jan 2022 that I attended the gym for the 1st time.
The result of the challenge is that I lost 19.4lbs in 6 weeks, feel fitter, trousers now button again and I feel like training regularly. Over the next 6 weeks I want to lose another 15lbs and I believe I will do that thanks to MFNI.
It doesn't matter what age you are, I'm 57, take up the challenge and you'll never look back.

I have really enjoyed the whole programme, the instructors are great craic and encourage you to push yourself.
The first couple of weeks were a shock to the system but once you get going it all gets alot easier and you can really see the results. The best bit about it is that it's all outdoor's - rain hail or shine.

I started with Mercury in Nov 2020. This has certainly been a different experience for me than in the past. In the past I gave up but the PTs at mercury have made the exercise varied and dare I say fun! The other members are also great for support and encouragement when you find things tough. I still struggle with improving my eating habits but again advice is provided and some great recipe ideas. Lockdown has been tough but the team have brought great online workouts and team challenges to keep us all training and on our toes!
I highly recommend Mercury Fitness NI and cant wait to continue my journey and reach my goals.

I just completed the 6 week challenge with Mercury Fitness NI. I absolutely loved the experience and have decided to stay on with the group for a year. I lost 9lbs in 6 weeks but it could’ve been more had I not let my diet slip the last two weeks of the challenge.
Overall, I feel much stronger and fitter. The classes are awesome with incredible instructors who push you to achieve the best you can achieve. There is expert guidance given on how to improve your diet which was a massive change for me as I was always eating takeaways or unhealthy foods. I’ve learnt so much that the knowledge will stay with me for life.
The thing that sets this bootcamp apart are the people from the instructors to the fellow members. I’ve made new friends and look forward to going to classes. I highly recommend this to anyone wanting to get fit and change your life.

As someone with no experience and very unfit and out of shape I was worried about starting with Mercury as I felt I would really struggle and embarrass myself. I couldn’t have been more wrong as Jay and Pete have been unbelievably supportive throughout the whole process and make sure each session is manageable for each individual person based on their own fitness levels, while still pushing you to do better than you did the day before. There is a real mentality of care and support, and your only competition is yourself as no matter what stage they are at in their fitness journey the other members of Mercury are honestly the kindest and most supportive people you could meet.
Every session is always fun and so rewarding and Pete is like having your very own cheerleader, he is everything you could possibly ask for in a trainer. He celebrates your wins with you and finds ways to adapt and push you in exactly the right ways. The nutritional package has helped me make smarter food choices, my mental health has improved leaps and bounds since starting and I have lost 21 pounds and counting! Jay tells you at the beginning to trust the process, and he is 100% right. Commit to the 6 weeks, do everything they tell you and you’ll really surprise yourself with what you’re able to do. I can’t thank Jay & Pete enough or possibly speak highly enough about Mercury, and I’m looking forward to staying on as a vet.

I lost 19lbs doing the 6 week challenge with mercury fitness. Everyone is so friendly and encouraging but also challenge you every session. Jay is great for keeping everyone motivated. I am so glad I joined mercury fitness. I was completely new to fitness prior to joining, so don’t be discouraged if you’ve never stepped in a gym. A lot of the members are in the same boat. All the members encourage each other and I have definitely noticed a big improvement in my fitness level.

I feel fitter, healthier and a wee bit leaner than I was at the start of this. Stopped smoking day before starting this and haven't had one since, some of that is down to determination but a lot of it is keeping my mind focused on getting myself fit and healthy through Mercury Fitness NI.

I started my 6 week challenge in January and we have exercised in all weathers and enjoyed every second of it. This is more a Boot camp, it is a community and we all spur each other on to keep going when we don't think we can and celebrate each others achievements. The support throughout the whole process has been outstanding and inspirational at every turn.

I would recommend Mercury Fitness to anyone that wants to loose weight and get fit in a long-term effective way. The classes are a brilliant mix of strength and cardio. You get multiple coaches who all have a slightly different style of class so no two classes are the same. The six week challenge is not easy and does require you to put in effort, but you definitely reap the rewards. The trainers are available to you all day, everyday for support or to answer any questions you have. Most people in the classes are in the same position as you and so you really don’t feel out of place. Mercury Fitness NI recently were just awarded the best bootcamp in Ireland, so don’t just take my word for it! Thank you to Jay, Peter and Adam for helping me lose 21 lbs in 6 weeks!

I can honestly say this has been one of the best and most life changing experiences of my entire life. My goals when I started was to get my fitness levels somewhere close to what they used to be. But more importantly it was to hopefully help my mental health and be able to be around people again without being anxious to the point I would make myself I'll.
This was no small task and to be honest when I started I doubted I would be able to achieve any of my goals but was determined to try.
But from the very start when I sat down with Jay the owner and chief instructor at Mercury fitness and discussed my goals and what I was looking to get from the course he believed in me and promised to be there and support me throughout my Journey and that is exactly what he did. From day 1 Jay was there to support and motivate me and help get over that initial first hurdle of meeting all the people on the 6 week challenge with me.
From the very start I felt totally at ease something I hadn't be able to do in a long time. Once I had got over that first hurdle it was down to the business of getting fit and healthy and with Mercury fitness you get far more than any other bootcamp. From day 1 you have plan to work towards and accountability. You have a fantastic team of instructors who provide the level of training that will push every individual within the group to there limits. They are highly motivated and have a genuine desire to see everyone succeed.
Every class is different, The instructors make them tough but also fun at the end of every single class you walk away with a real sense of achievement.
Through the entire course you have the support of not only all the instructors who are on hand to help and offer advice pretty much anytime day or night, but also the rest of the group.
With Mercury fitness you become part of a community of people who all help and support each other and I can honestly say I count myself lucky to have met such an amazing group of people. We all started the journey together and finished together.
I highly recommend Mercury fitness to anyone without hesitation. Honestly folks if your looking for that kickstart to getting fitter and healthier then Mercury fitness is the place to be. Mercury fitness has a proven record of success that's why so many people including myself stay on and become a full member after completing the 6 week challenge. 6 weeks ago I responded to an ad on Facebook for Mercury Fitness N.I. with Jason and today had my final weigh in. I was a bit unsure at the start whether or not I would be able to hit my 18lb weight loss goal. But with help from the fitness instructors and all the mercury fitness regulars I am glad to say I hit my 18lb goal. It has given me the kick start I needed to get fit again, I feel fantastic and look forward to continuing the journey as a Mercury fitness Veteran. i would highly recommend Jay and Mercury Fitness. I have just completed a 6 week bootcamp and feel amazing. I have lost 14.6lbs and 23.3 inches off my body. Jay is a fabulous instructor who knows his stuff and always has an upbeat positive attitude. No 2 classes are ever the same and target different parts of the body at each workout. The classes are fun and always have a bit of banter. The people you train along side are in the same boat as you. At the end of the sessions you feel good and feel where your muscles are (no pain no gain they say). I have signed up for the next year with Jay. Simply the best !!

Throughout the six week transformation with mercury fitness I lost the target weight of 18lbs and I know that it was only down to the training sessions and eating plans provided by jay I had tried losing weight by myself simply going to the gym but lost motivation quickly. With mercury’s six week transformation I was in a group of people in a similar situation to myself (feeling fed up of diets and not seeing long lasting results) and the group atmosphere in the training sessions along with the group WhatsApp helped keep me on track. Ok, I'm long overdue doing this review, but it means I can comment on some more stuff following the initial six week exercise. Firstly, my reasons for joining and a bit about me. I'm no gym bunny and I'm not super fit but I love getting to classes at the gym because I feel better exercising and most importantly it gives me head space. I really missed the classes at the gym during first lockdown. Towards the end of last year I found out about mercury (was walking dog and saw a class and just asked) and after meeting jay thought I'd give it a go for the initial six weeks (something to give a bit of structure and a boost outside of work). I was a bit apprehensive, as I say I'm not super fit and am not a runner. I wondered if I'd be able to keep up....anyway, long story short I loved it. Exercising outside is great (and I am a cold soul!). There are different instructors and venues, the instructors all have their own style and it's always different, but each and every one are great and the classes are structured and organised. There are clearly a cadre of people who are long term members and have well established relationships, but everyone was very welcoming, friendly and supportive to newbies. Most importantly, you go at your own pace. If you need to have a break, you have a break. If you can't do an exercise, you'll be given an alternative. The way I looked at it, I was doing more than I would have been sitting on the sofa! Over the course of the six weeks I lost 12lbs. Could have been more but I relaxed a bit coming up to Christmas. I was really pleased and felt stronger and fitter at the end. I've stayed on as a member because I love it so much. When the post Christmas lockdown started and classes outside ended, the classes went online and have kept me going. There have been lots of different mini challenges and charity events to keep motivation up. I've recently started another six week challenge. There's a supportive community - members and instructors - to offer nutrition and exercise advice and to help you stay on track. I couldn't recommend it highly enough and I'm so grateful to have found it. I'd encourage anyone to give it a go.

Just finished my 6 week challenge with Mercury fitness. I reached goals I didn’t think would be possible in such a short space of time. 6% body fat gone, 17.8lbs shedded and 13.5inches lost. That’s thanks to Jay, Adam, Catherine and Peter the coaches and all of the other troops for their support and encouragement. I have never felt fitter and this has been the most fun and well structured bootcamp I have ever attended. I highly recommend getting involved, the team are amazing and you’ll get fit and enjoy every minute along the way. Honestly, it’s like one big family and there is always immediate support at the end of a call or text through your entire journey so you are never left in the dark. Go give it a whirl ✌🏼

So decided to make some changes in my life from crisps chocolate and generally a see food and eat it diet to @mercuryfitnessni approach. Clicked on the link one night sitting on the sofa then bang emails texts and a meeting to get an idea about the program. From signing up it was the fear of turning up at a boot camp not knowing anyone but a lot of friendly people and instructors which made you push on and achieve your goals. I found the calorie counting difficult for a few days and when I found the veg and fruit really filled you up for longer and in fact needing less food to feel better. The outdoor boot camps are amazing good variation of cardio and strength and if your lucky enough to live in Lisburn you have a guy who will bust you but take your mind off the burn pushing you in the direction you need to be in! Folks if your sitting there watching Jason’s videos and nervous to try it, don’t be 6 weeks transformed by body weight and energy levels. Give it a go and try and loose more than I did 19.6lbs and 5.9% body fat in 6 weeks. What have you got to loose except from weight and fat!

I completed a six week challenge with mercury fitness in Nov/Dec 2019. The challenge is based on an array of bootcamp and boxing classes which are a mix of indoors and outdoors.
I enjoyed the variation of the classes and the enthusiasm of the instructors really kept you going. There's a really broad range of fitness levels and abilities so everyone will feel welcome and able.

I finished my 6 week challenge yesterday and I've completely amazed myself; I enjoy exercise (in fact I miss it when I don't), I'm subconsciously thinking about the food choices I'm making and I achieved my goal and more (a total loss of 19lbs). I have never enjoyed exercise but I can honestly say I belly laughed at each and every class I attended. Exercising outdoors surrounded by a community of wonderful people has so many positives; but for me, clearing the mind and improving mental health has been a biggy!
I trained with the Bangor crew and I can honestly say I'm gutted I can't stay on (maybe logistics will change and you'll see me again in the future 🤞🏻).

I just finished my 6weeks and must say I’m so happy I did this The trainers are amazing very supportive and helpful. I only attended 2 live sessions and was still able to reach my goal even beyond the target within 6 weeks I lost over 8% of body and sitting now on 15% which is absolutely amazing I feel so much more energetic was able to get perfect times while Hiking mountains without being out of breath After 3 weeks I lost 10kg of weight and 6% of body fat on the end I find out I put up back 4kg but lost additional body fat over 2% which means I put up muscle weight as I feel and look leaner this is incredible results and I can not recommend them more if you wanna get back in shape. If you decide to do it you need to follow the plan and be dedicated to reach the goal and work hard on it. The support you get is amazing so if someone is reading it and thinking about transferring your life don’t hesitate

During my 6 week bootcamp it switched to online classes and they have been just as encouraging as the outdoor ones. There are many trainers so it is always fresh and varied exercises to keep you on your toes. It is a great feeling when you think you can't do a certain task but then you smash it !!
The videos on nutrition are informative and easy to follow. The recipes given were a great help.

The classes were varied and the instructors motivated you to do your best.

I signed up with Mercury Fitness NI in November, excited at the prospect of potentially losing 18lbs in the run up to Christmas. Following the calorie deficit diet, participating in 3 Bootcamp classes per week and keeping myself accountable to the Mercury fitness group weekly, I was over the moon to lose over 19lbs in 6 weeks, along with inches off my body, feeling fitter and stronger and more energised in general.
The bootcamp sessions, both inside and outside were varied and enjoyable, and the trainers were great at motivating and encouraging me when I really felt like i had no more to give (especially in the pouring rain)
Mercury Fitness supplied me with detailed nutritional guides and support, in the form of Facebook and Whatsapp groups to use as and when I felt like I needed to. Alongside this, home workout videos were also available to use if a bootcamp session was not feasible due to personal & family commitments.

I was sceptical going into this six week intro programme but my scepticism was soon run out of me in my first session! This was by no way going to be easy but the positive attitude and encouragement from Jay (who knows everyone by name from week one!) along with the team encouragement made me believe it was possible. My competitiveness came out in the bootcamp session with others pushing me to go that bit further. I even surprised myself by getting to level 11 in the bleep test in week4! The challenge for me was always going to be outside of the classes and tracking my calories. I had no idea what my calories were like and thought I ate fairly well. Though as I got deeper into Jays food program and from watching the live facebook videos on the Mercury facebook page, I learnt more and more about macros and getting that healthy balance and feeling satiated not just full.
The end result is I lost 18.2 lbs and 5.6% body fat in six weeks. The other take away is a greater knowledge of my body and healthy eating and also my mental strength to push through to the end of a challenge and belief that I can do it!
I would highly recommend anyone to strongly consider this six week challenge!

It all started with watching a simple Facebook video post. Having wanted to do something about putting on weight and being unfit I never had the push to do anything as i was always busy, working or just being lazy about it. Until one day me and the partner decided to go for a hike. This opened my eyes as after 15mins of walking up a slight hill I was done !! This was the point it clicked and I had to do something, So once home watched the PROMO video again and thought this might work so registered straight away, booked my induction with Jay and off we went. Nervous and worried that I might have to actually do exercise ! Enjoyed the induction and left smiling and motivated to get started in the coming weeks, went away and enjoyed Christmas (i ate everything in the house) then it came ,.... Day 1 ….. First Day Training … worried about joining into a new class etc was one thing but having realised that the last time I had done any form of REAL exercise was when I was in year 14 in school ! I found the instructors all very welcoming and you were not left out, you were put centre stage so you could mingle and chat. The first night I struggled and when I say I struggled I STRUGGLED. I spent more time on my face trying to do press ups that actually doing them . However the instructor and other people weren't to long in shouting and pushing me to keep going. After the first 2 classes I was done. Was getting annoyed with myself cause my brain wanted to do the class and my body was like no! Also the issues of having went from over 3k cals a day to 1800 didn't help. However cause you have already booked you classes and the instructors push you and find out when your coming etc give me the sense of right let go get it done as they where there waiting to start the class and didn't want to let anyone else down. Over the next few classes I got more into it still hated life for the 45mins that I was there. After the 2nd week it was the first time I had the (good Feeling) after working out, i could never relate the the other when they said they felt great after working out. All I wanted to do was curl up in a ball as my legs and arms where that sore ! We only got 2 weeks or so outside training then we moved to indoors. I thought that this would be worse as ill be at home in the living room however i was wrong !! The online classes are just as hard and you don't move more than 2m unless you do Neals classes and you find yourself running up and down a set of stairs 30 times in one class (sounds handy ITS NOT) plus don't think the instructors aren't watching. THEY ARE !! they make it known to, this helped me as when you think "ill stop for a second that's that second they see you so you just keep going" i needed that, i needed the push to keep going and pushing hard. Its amazing how much you work in the house with noting more than a resistance band and a set of stairs. The large group chats where good for time when you wanted something nice to eat and then you realise you cant cause your only allowed X number of calories. They soon give you plenty of ideas. The hardest most boring part for me was tracing the food, photos of the food, weekly measurement etc. however now I've done it I can see why they push it. You soon realise how much Calories is in food when you trace it. when you post your food pics and everyone else does it give you ideas for the next weeks foods, The measurements mean you can see after week 2 that there is movement without stepping onto the scales. All this information feeds back into you 3 week and 6 week weigh in where the scales tell you how well you have done. Over the 6 weeks I lost 18lb and dropped 2 waist sizes in my trousers, Cloths I thought ill never wear again i have to as noting else fits right. I.e. My suits I now look likes I've stole my dads when 6 weeks again it looked like I was bursting out of it !

so I've just finished my 6 week bootcamp at mercury fitness. I was so reluctant to start, even crying in my car on the first night because I didn't want to get out of the car and embarrass myself with how unfit I was but as soon as I started I felt so at ease with not only the help of jay but also all the other members. they were all in the same boat and were amazing at giving encouragement when it was needed the most. in my 6 weeks I lost 17lb and even managed to fit into a dress I bought 5 years ago and had never worn. anyone thinking of giving a bootcamp a try or wanting to get fitter, I would highly recommend mercury fitness. I've tried many others before and never stuck to them but this was the most fun I've had doing exercise and I've even signed up for the next 6 months.

A fun filled 6 week bootcamp. It surpassed all my expectations and I achieved goals that I didn’t think were possible. Definately a surefiire way to educate anyone in healthier nutritional and exercise activities.
I have been running for the last 3 years and I teach Pilates but I was carrying a calf injury for 3 months prior to signing up. The exercises and nutritional advice offered allowed me to fully rehabilitate my calf and lose a total of 7.9% body fat which equated to a full stone of weight. As a result, I have become a little bit quicker with my running and it feels a bit easier on my joints as I’m not carrying as much weight with me! The program run by Jay and his team is something else, different classes to keep you on your feet at all times. Also the outdoor gym is a great game changer too. 2months ago i was stuck in a rut of work and sleep and no get up and go to anything extra at all. I spotted an advert on facebook for Mercury Fitness NI i was nervous about putting myself out there as i suffer from ASD, depression and anxiety, but said to myself lets give it a go and i decided to get in touch. Fast forward and having completed the best 6 weeks of my last year it is hard to say how elated and eager i am moving forward. I have changed my whole eating habits and trained so hard. Jason who owns and runs Mercury Fitness NI has been an inspiration, motivator and allround great guy. I am now at a stage where i have completed a 11km run and training 4 times a week. I feel fantastic and have signed up to veteran status as want to improve further and tone up. I have lost 14llbs in weight and am so much stronger and fitter. The community spirit with everybody is great and i really do look forward to each session. Being socially awkward it has helped me meet new people and everybody works so hard every session and we support each other no matter how big or small, old or young, everybody is accepted. Haven't been to the Stormont bootcamp but am a regular at Jay's, Ward Park, Bangor bootcamp. He is a fabulous instructor who never fails to be energetic, smiling and good fun! Have been going every week (2-3 times) since early this year and no class has ever been the same.
